Elsword: Fallen Comrade Season 2: The Demon Invasion
Chapter One:
Two Years
-Somewhere in Northern Xin Empire: Ara-
"Commander, our spies have returned with a report." Standing at the entrance of the Strategy Room stood a soldier from the old Haan families Army which was now commanded by me, Ara Haan. He was dressed in pitch black and silver attire. It was the casual outfit of the soldiers that I and Rena commanded. I raised from my chair, massaging my eye lids. Lately I've been in this room every day placing down marks and removing some as the demon armies advanced throughout the continent.
I finally turned around and face the soldier, like all the soldiers around here when they first meet me in private they can't help but stare at my chest or even Renas in that matter, but sooner or later they learn that there chances of touching are undeniably low.
"Well then, you make speak." I said in a solid tone, I started speaking this way because the soldiers wouldn't take the old me seriously. It's basically become my new personality.
"Yes ma'am. The spies have reported that the demon armies have reached the front gates of the Velder Kingdom. The king has dispatched the Red Knights of Velder to defend the frontal gate." The soldier said, he had a slight moment of pause, "Well? What else?" I waved my hand slightly raising my voice. The soldier's body shivered at my tone.
"W-well Ma'am, Velder has sent out a message asking for co-op between the kingdoms of Velder and Hamel, but the demons have cut off routes leading from Velder to Hamel, causing reinforcements to be cut off. Our spies believe Velder will only hold out for three more months at this rate, and Hamel five."
I couldn't help but be shocked from his words, "What happened with Hamel's Colossus? Shouldn't he be on the front lines of Hamel?" I asked the soldier. The person I was speaking of was none other than Chung's father. The guardian of peace in all of Hamel, White Colossus.
The soldier swallowed the saliva building up in his mouth then spoke, "White Colossus is M.I.A. he disappeared suddenly one day because of this Hamel's soldiers lost the morale to fight, they are barely holding onto hope thanks to the Duke."
Rubbing my chin I looked back at the map place on a table in the center of the room, "Alright soldier, thank you for the report. Now I need you to call in Rena, Ciel, Lu and Aisha. After that return to the barracks and rest, you'll need it." Saluting the soldier marched out of the room.
I sat down on the highest chair in the Strategy Room. I placed a hand on my head, Seems I won't get a fever from sleep deprivation.
After a few minutes Rena arrived with Lu, Ciel and Aisha trailing behind. I stood up from my seat, "Sorry for suddenly calling you all here." I said while walking over to the coffee pot.
Rena shook her head, "No need to worry Ara. We planned on coming here later anyways?" Rena asked as she looked around the room "Not allowing Elesis to attend again?" she asked, not seeing her figure in the room.
"No, not today." I said while placing a plate of deserts on the table along with hot chocolate and coffee.
"Well then please everyone have a seat, I've prepared drinks and snacks after all we'll be here for sometime." I said as I made my way back to my chair.
"So the demon armies cut off routes from Velder to Hamel. So reinforcements are a no show. Seems like the usual from that sneaky bitch." Lu said her cheeks puffing out a little as she chewed on some cookies.
"Is this a usual tactic from someone you know Lu?" Aisha asked while moving pieces across the map every time a scout came in, Aisha has become the one to write down a the information received from the scouts while Rena gave them the orders. But that wasn't all she did, she taught magic to those with the potential to be Elemental or Dark Magicians as well as command then in a battle.
"Of course, from what I can tell this is work of a Dark Elf who served the previous king. Her name was Chloe if it's her she would do this kind of tactic." Lu reached out and picked up a piece of a crown scratching a "C" on it for chloe.
She looked around the map placing the piece down on the front of Velders main gate. "She'll be around here commanding her troops." Lu said sitting back down.
"But that's the front line." Rena pointed out.
"Commanders usually stay to the rear, from this view it seems that she likes to be where all the action is." I said my gaze making its way to Rena, "She's kinda like you then. Do Elves love to command from the front?" I joked. Rena let out a slight sigh as she turned her gaze back on Lu.
"She's exactly that type of person, she's extremely cocky for someone who doesn't fight fairly, during the great battle between the nobles of the demon realm she set's all throughout the battlefield and lead her men from the front. Many died from her tatics, the toll includes her own men." Lu said, her gaze becoming a cold one, she turned to Ciel, "So don't go giving in to her lures. Especially you Ciel." Lu said.
Ciel sighed looking down, "Sorry. But I've gotten control of it so no worries."Ciel said. I looked at them with a slight smile. These past two years have been rather stressful for them. Ciel had been trying to deal with his transformation into demon, it had begun to change his physical appearence more and more lately. Every time I think about it, I remember what happened in Feita, between us and Elesis. For Rena it must've been worse, shes been pouring her all into containing as much of Ciel's power until her could get a better grasp of it but as of late it seems he's been getting the hang of it.
"So what will we do?" I asked as I stared at the map, our enemies were really scattered all over. It was as if fighting with several nations. "This Chole is a really dangerous foe."
As I thought about this to myself Aisha had walked up to the front and casted a spell to project the map up on the wall, this was a new spell she developed in the past two years to give out orders easier to the troops.
She stood next to the projection and pointed at the front gates of Velder.
"If we look at the current situation the walls of Velder have been under siege for a good few months now. If we take in the factor that Velder reinforced the walls with magic constantly as well as the size of the wall, Velder has 3 weeks until the front gate falls, being that front gate is the largest gate means that's the demons main target, the rear gates are smaller so they'll hold on for another few weeks after the fall of the main gate." Aisha said.
"That's not very assertive." Rena said. Aisha shook her head in disagreement.
"I disagree Rena, from the info Lu gave us, this Chloe is the one commanding the demons that are attacking Velder. Her camp is located at the Front Gate."
"I see, so taking out Chloe who is the commander should stop the movement of the other forces." Ciel added.
"Bingo!" Aisha said while quickly turning and pointing her wand at Ciel, "If our forces can take care of Chloe we would have knocked out there command center." Aisha said while removing a piece from the map, which in turn removed one from the projection.
I couldn't help but feel that it would be too easy if Chloe fell right away. Thinking back to what Lu said and how sneaky she was I ended up raising a hand. "Yes Ara?" Aisha asked as everyone looked towards me. I took a few of the king pieces we didn't use. "Lets assume Chloe isn't alone." I said placing down pieces at each spot were the demon armies were scattered. "We missed the important detail that chloe is a sneaky one, she may be at the front gate because everyone thinks she's commanding her troops from there." I said as I pointed at one of the pieces near the Residential district. "This area our spies reported seeing two different kinds of demons. From our other reports Chloe commands an army of glitters. If this is true then what is with this demon type?" I said. With my statement it drew possibilities among the group.
Lu was the first to speak up, "It could be an extreme possibility. From what I remember Chloe always had a certain demon with her called Leno. He was from a clan of extremely strong demons that could rival a noble if they didn't know what they were doing." Lu said placing an L on the king piece on the residential district king piece. I rubbed my chin a bit. "So its safe to assume that even with Chloe falling in battle another person will take her place?" Rena said. Lu nodded her head, "Usually we would only have one in charge being the strongest of the clan, but Chloe doesn't have a clan much to back her up, so it's safe to assume other strong demons could take charge once she's fallen in battle." she said.
"So we'll have to move quickly then. Looking at the map the Residential District should be our priority, it's closer to the main gate, because of the two week difference we should barely make it...Ara permission to utilize the 'Gate' for this mission?" Aisha recommended, I looked at Rena for her consent, she gave me a nod. Looking back at Aisha I gave her the same response. Now the Gate Aisha brought up were portals I had placed all over the continent through the help of Rena's troops; after we became wanted asking Cobo Service for help wasn't going to be possible so I placed gates in hidden areas outside massively populated areas.
"Is the area clear?" Ciel asked while facing me, I stood up and took a piece we used to represent the portals and placed one down on the map where the portal was. "Here is where Rena and I placed the portal. Should be a good distance from the demon armies. So yes, the area is clear."
Aisha looked at the distance between the gate and the closest army, "It's about a mile and a half from the demon armies. We can set camp in the forest, let the troops ready themselves." Aisha said as Lu reached over and planted down a tent piece on the spot.
"Alright, we'll follow through with Aisha's plan of attacking the demons in the Resident District of Velder Kingdom." I stood up looking around the room as everyone looked up to me for their orders. "Alright. For this mission we'll use our code names, we can't have authority's figuring out who we really are just yet ." I said as I pointed at Rena first.
"Night Watcher! Lead your Night Savers through the portal first tonight." I said to Rena tossing her a letter, "If by any chance you run into an unknown enemy tonight open that card and read it's instructions on what to do." Rena nodded. grabbing her sword as she walked out of the room.
"Demonio, Diabla, Void Princess we will be regrouping with Night Watchers group early tomorrow morning. So get your men ready, tomorrow we strike!" I raised a fist as Lu, Ciel, and Aisha nodded their heads.
[AN: So here's a little thing to understand about Military units. Battalions: 400 to 1000, Company: 100 to 250, Platoon: 16 to 50, Squad: 8 to 24, Section: 4 to 12]
After the meeting I went out to look for Rena. I found her in her office giving out orders to her officals, I waited until we were both alone. Sitting down on a chair I sighed a bit, "Haaa, sorry to leave this to you Rena, but you're the most suited when it comes to getting everything ready beforehand." I said while scratching my head.
Rena shook her head as she crashed down beside me, her head facing the ceiling "Don't worry about it, I'm actually glad that have so much faith in me." she looked at me with a smile as she punched my shoulder, after a bit Rena got back up on her feet, "You should get some rest Ara, you may be the supreme commander but you're not immortal- er... nevermind you are." Rena said holding her head as if she was trying to think of something else to say.
I chuckled a little in delight, "Don't worry I get what you mean, I'll head back to my room can't keep 'her' waiting for me all day." standing up I walked out of the Strategy Room. Walking across the road from HeadQuarters to my private home I quickly gave it a knock. Before I could step back as if she was waiting at the door, it flung wide open. "Welcome back!" Elesis said, I examined her outfit with a hand on my chin, currently she was wearing a black V-neck mini-dress shirt with tight leggings and high boots, her hair was down as per usual, my my, looking at her I realize she never does lose her sex appeal.
"I'm back." I smiled as I came back to my senses, I gave her a nice big hug before entering and closing the door.
"Oh I made dinner, was just waiting for you to return was all." Elesis said as she skipped her way into the kitchen. I followed closely behind her.
Elesis has been living with me for the past two years. After what had happened in Feita, when the chaos died down, we realized that Elesis had returned to her normal state but what we didn't expect was that she had lost her memory of ever meeting us, from what we could tell the last thing she remembers was being in Velder training the Velder Red Knights under her command, she forgot about how she met the rest of us or her reunion with Elsword. She still believes he's in Ruben, training to become a knight. When I learned of this, Rena and I had decided that I'll make up a story that we were blood sisters who met on the battlefield, this was the best method we could think of trying not to spark another disaster that was Ilyailia but my that plan didn't go as I would have hoped.
But before I knew it we had actually become like real sisters, we would talk all night, play games together, cook together, help each other with personal problems. Before I knew it she became my whole world, when I thought about how Ilyailia had taken advantage of Elesis to use her for her own gain I would get furious and so Elesis became my new found motivation for ending Ilyailia's evil.
Elesis then walked me over to the dining table, when I sat down she placed a plate of chicken with salad on the side in front of me. "Here dinner is served~" she said, I looked up and gave her a smile, "Thank you Elesis." I began eat my meal. As I neared the end of this delicious chicken Elesis pulled up a chair beside me
"Nee-sama, you're going out tomorrow aren't you?" Elesis whispered gently against my ear. I paused on my eating for a little, giving a slow nod as I swallowed the chicken.
"Mhm...I talked with everyone else and they all agreed that you may come along. I need you to act strong though." I said placing my fork and knife down wiping my mouth with a napkin.
"I will, I didn't train in the ways of the claymore for nothing." getting up from her chair Elesis took my plate, "There is only one thing favor I want though." she asked while stepping back into the kitchen turning the faucet on.
"You'll trust me with the Red Knight Battalion." Elesis said. I looked over at her for a little bit. "Ahh this again." I thought as I held my head sighing a bit, I know why she wants command of the Red Knights that joined our cause, about a year and a half ago we found an entire army of Red Knights who were encircled by demons. We lent them a hand to defend against them. When the battle ended, an old knight who was a Grandmaster noticed Elesis, that Grandmaster had seen a potential in Elesis and asked if she could take her under her wing, at first I denied it but I was sweet talked into it when she said that she'll join our cause.
I let her and her red knights in while she trained Elesis, but after some time she asked to be left alone with Elesis for half a year. In that half a year Elesis returned alone carrying the massive claymore of the old lady and was wearing a battle dress of the Red Knight Order. Appearently that old knight had passed away. Seems she knew her time was coming so she left me a note it read that Elesis will take her place as the new Grandmaster of the Red Knight Order. For days after Elesis was in deep sorrow, I had to be there for her so I took a break from work and left it to Rena. After she recovered I told her I couldn't give her command of the Red Knights right away. Since then we have not deployed them but trained them to keep them from getting rusty on us.
I looked up at Elesis, well..she has grown to be reliable, especially in the house wife category. I let out a quiet chuckle to my own joke, Haaa, it wouldn't hurt to finally give her a chance. I thought to myself as I softened my expression, "Well...I think it's time we see what that old knight taught you." I said, hearing my reply Elesis jumped in excitement, "Oh thank you Nee-sama! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Elesis ran out of the kitchen after washing the plate tackling me off my chain.
"Wha!" I screamed in shock as a loud thump resounded across the house, when I opened my eyes Elesis face was the first thing that came into sight.
Before I could speak, Elesis lightly pressed her lips against my cheek. "Wha!" I couldn't help but be surprised considering this uncomfortable position I was in, and on top of that Elesis suddenly kissed me.
"Thank you again Nee-sama" Elesis said as she got off me, her cheeks were slightly dyed red. I shook my head trying to regain my senses. Getting back up I stared at her.
"You ok right?." Elesis asked as she took hold of my hand, I smiled fixing my hair. "Yea" I said.
"Ah you gained another white streak." Elesis ran her hand through my hair which was currently tied up.
[AN: Currently she's dressed as Yama Raja but with hair color and eye color similar to Asura.]
"Yea but don't worry it's nothing." I said as I took hold of her hand, "You've never told me what lead to this, around this house I found paintings of you with full black hair and both your eyes were golden, not red and gold."
[AN: Legit Aras eyes are a gold color, some people say they are brown.]
I bit my lip, I couldn't tell her that technically she pushed me to this edge. I caressed her cheek, "It's happened when I first met Ilyailia I was pushed to the brink of death so I accepted my true powers slowly." What I said wasn't a lie but not the full truth either.
"What true power?" Elesis asked, Ah she hasn't seen me use magic yet. Yes for the past two years I've only used martial arts, only time I had to use magic or energy was when I opened up the Gates with Rena. I smiled, "You'll see soon." Elesis nodded in satisfaction, "I'm holding you to that you know." I rolled my eyes. She's very persistent.
The Demon Resistance Army: 3,000 soldiers
Lu and Ciel's Battalion: 700 troops
Rena's Battalion: 450 troops
Aisha's Company : 200 mages
Elesis's Battalion: 400 troops
Ara's Regiment: 1,250 troops
-Next Day: Residential Area-
Boom! "Son of a Bitch! There goes another one!" Lu yelled as she held her hands over her head. Currently we were hiding behind a broken down building, Rena,Ciel,Lu,Elesis and I took a small group of soldiers from each of our Battalions and tried pushing through the Residential Area, "They really have a tight hold on the city huh." Rena said with bow in hand peeked around the corner and fired an explosive arrow at the wyvern. Looking around Rena confirmed if that was the last wyvern around the area, once it was confirmed Rena unsheathed her blade and held it up high
"Alright! That's the last one for now, Night Savers attack!" Rena said as she led the charge of her men. Our numbers combined we currently had 50 soldiers. 10 from each group including Aisha's since Lu and Ciel commanded the same group.
[Ara the status of the rear, currently we are pushing them back at a good pace, the problem is whoever is in charge seems to be a rather wise fellow.] Aisha said, through the telepathic channel. "Hmm...alright, just keep them distracted we'll try and push and recapture the Residential Area." Aisha responded with a "Yes Ma'am."
"Spearmen from the East!" a Red knight shouted. I died a sharp turn ready to assist but it seems Lu noticed before I did.
"Hmph fools! Take this! Land crusher! Hahaha!" Lu ran for the spearmen coming from the East. Seeing that she had it covered I turned my attention back to the enemies before me.
"Hit!" digging my spear out of a Glitter foot soldiers chest I could feel a shiver run down my spine, Eun do you feel it? I asked, the amount auras around the area grew horrendously. [They number at about 400. I sense Dark Elves, Wyverns, Glitters, and...What is this? A large hulking demon?] Eun said, soon after the ground began to shake roughly.
Lu quickly turned her head to the North were the demons were coming from, "I remember this feeling...its just like that time..Raja, it's the demons I was telling you about! They've arrived!" Lu said as she hurriedly ran her way back to us, I prepared for the worst and began to shout out orders, "Soldiers! Prepare for battle!" I yelled as I pointed out key areas to stand by at. Before I knew it 10 massive demons bursted through the houses of the residential area. "What is that!?" Rena asked, Lu clicked her tongue, "So that's what she brought...as I thought...those are the Uno Hounds." Lu said, I looked at her with a bit of sweat running down my forehead, I chuckled nervously.
"Hmph just a demon...it's just slightly bigger! Force Spear!"I said as I prepared to thrust my spear forward, as fast as I could I poured energy into my spear. When I felt the required amount was met I thrusted my spear forward with easeat one of the Uno Hounds it pierced right through it's chest. Slowly the giant Boom! Fell down on the floor lifelessly. I held onto my spear tightly to keep my body up.
"Ohhh!" the soldiers roared.
"That's the commander for you!"
"With her as our leader we're bound to win this fight!"
Form behind me I could hear the morale of the soldiers building up. This is good, showing a display of my strength build up their morale to an all time high. They didn't know that it actually took a lot out of me to get the power output that high. From the side I could see Elesis run up.
"Red knights follow me! Sword of Victory!" she yelled with a slamming motion her claymore down onto the ground, with this motion her blade got wrapped in an aura that reshaped itself to a larger form of her own blade.
"YAAA!" The Red Knights roared as they ran right behind Elesis charging the glitter demons.
"Men we're following! the Raja, I asked Void for reinforcements!" Rena said, her sword piercing the chest of an unknown archer.
I looked at Lu and Ciel, they already knew my intention and charged with their forces behind Rena and Elesis.
"Alright. Void how long till you arrive?" I asked via telepathy, [Um, about half an hour? Currently we're being chased by the regular army.] I couldn't help but feel annoyed, we are at war and they focus on us rather than the demons before them, no wonder they'll only last a few months. "Alright, I'll hold them off." I sighed. The world is at risk of being destroyed and the army decides to chase after renegades. Man there objectives are sure wrong. I raised my spear high, beginning to chant my mind became one with Euns, slowly nine tails formed behind my back, as my hair braid got undone, my hair becoming whiter than the moon itself. My eyes turned into the lovely color of crimson blood. Different from my previous awakening. This was my Yama Raja awakening, my fox ears would not appear, but I could switch between the Asura and Yama powers. The toll to do so was great so I didn't do so much but it was alright. For this war the fire power of Yama is much more useful.
"Energy Wave!" I yelled, my energy built itself up in my hands as I fired it off in a massive sphere form towards the demons.
"Wha! Ara!?" Elesis was shocked by the sudden wave of power that flew by.
"Ohhh! The commander! Showing off her strength to the demons!" a soldier shouted.
"Watcher, Diabla, Grand Master pull back your soldiers!" I commanded, I could feel my powers begin to lose their output.
Elesis seemed confused by my command but she heeded it anyways and commanded that the soldiers return, so did Rena and Lu.
When I had confirmed they moved out of the way I rushed the demons.
"Raja! Stop!" Elesis yelled, I couldn't tell if she noticed what I was planning and how dangerous it was. I probably looked worn out to Rena, Elesis and the others because they knew me so well, but thankfully Rena pulled her back telling her to calm down. "Mhm, don't worry for her." Lu said as she clenched her fist.
I looked at them with a smile. I raised my hand above my head channeling my mana and energy into it, "Infernal Circle!" I yelled, spheres of dark energy surrounded me hovering around me. When I jumped up I slammed them down into the ground causing a massive explosion. "Next! Suppression Energy." I faintly said. I looked for any remaining energy within me and began to cast the next a void of energy appeared as it began to pull in a large horde of demons with an explosion. I wobbled around a little on my feet. The lack of energy was beginning to take it's toll on me, if I kept this up any longer it would become life threatening, but at that moment, from the corner of my eye I noticed a glitter who was trying to crawl away. A slight smile formed across my face. "Don't hate me too much. Life swap." I stomped my foot on it back, stopping him from moving forward, raising my spear I licked my lips a little. With a thrust, I dug deeply into his heart. I could feel his heart beat as his life energy flowed into me. A feeling of ecstasy ran through my very core. I let a slight moan slip out as my body began to recover from the fatigue. The shivers that went up my spine began to awaken 'that' side of me.
"W-wow…" Elesis said with a surprised expression.
With a sadistic laugh my body became limp like a puppet on strings. "Oh... I'm not done yet~" I said with a slight hint of boredom in my tone. The demons seemed to fear my presence, some tried to run, others were frozen in fear. The grin on my face widened up more as I threw my spear to the side. Channeling dark energy into my hand, it's form was darker than before. Hehe...stronger I see...I thrust my hand outwards. "Energy Void!" I said with a wicked laugh, "More! More! More!" I poured more energy into the void as it's size grew larger. With a snap of my fingers the void vanished along with the bodies that were dragged inside. "M-monster!" A demon yelled in broken english. I let out a slight chuckle while shaking my head.
"Haha! No, no, no, no I'm worse~ I'm the devil! The bringer of your end! Purgatory!" I slammed a closed fist into the ground as dozens of spheres rose out of the ground. When the spheres touched a demon they instantly turned to ash. "ArghhhhAAAAA!" the yelling of dozens of demons resounded on the battlefield. This continued on for a while, I would make my way through the demons, taking their life for power then throwing it right back at them. It was an endless cycle of wonderful destruction. Rena, Lu and Ciel charged forward with their armies keeping clear of my way. We had victory in our grasp. Elesis then walked over to me
"Ara...are you ok? Why are you smiling?" she said. I looked at her with that same smile. I couldn't wipe it off my face.
"Because it's fun~ you better go on with Rena and the others~ It's about to get crazy in here~!" I said as I pushed Elesis back. I blasted off the ground running forward towards the incoming demons. I aimed towards the demons. I channeled all the mana I had into my hands. "Good...the distance is just perfect. Energy Void!" yelling at the top of my lungs I created a massive sphere before me 5 times my very own size, it became a vortex of magical power pulling everything towards it but it didn't last long, for only an instant I was able to eliminate about 15 of the hundred demons that approached us. I dropped down to the ground as the toll hit me. Dammit...I said to myself. Luckily from the corner of my eye I could see Aisha arriving with her forces. "The Calvary is here!" I could hear Aisha yell as she and hundreds of warriors flew by me. I sighed in relief as my vision grew a bit hazy.
-Camp Grounds-
When I awoke again I was inside a tent with Rena and Ciel at my side. "You really overdid it Ara, you've grown another strand of white hair, see?" Rena said while giving me a mirror. I looked down a little. "To achieve victory sacrifices must be made. This is what I've given up to achieve this." I said giving back the mirror. Rena waved a finger at me, "Ara that's just wrong, what are you going to do if you can't see this all the way through? You know this entire army relies on you. Without you we won't be able to main half of our forces who put their all into assisting you and serving under a new banner, leaving their old ones behind." she said with a fury in her voice. Ciel put a hand on her shoulder as if to calm her down. Before I could retaliate to what she had said, Ciel spoke up, "Rena what Ara says isn't wrong. Sometimes the road to achieving power involves sacrifices of ones own being. I know this too well." Ciel said pointing at himself. Rena was taken back by his comment. She knew too well what he was saying was true. When our conversation ended I went back to sleep, in my sleep I could feel inside of me, as if it was always there, and it was beginning to awaken.
-Next Day: Residental Area-
I leaned against the broken down wall, "Haaa. A break." I slid down the wall sitting flat on the ground. I looked up at the afternoon sun thinking to myself, even with all that rest I got yesterday I had decided to return to the front lines but I could tell that all that sleep wasn't enough to fully recover. Oh well~ I licked my lips as a small grin formed on my face. Seems I'll just feed on some demon life force~ I thought to myself. It felt strange how naturally those thoughts ran through my head.
A few minutes later I was startled by Elesis who walked over with a cup of water, handing it to my while taking a seat I looked at her with a small smile, "Thanks." I said as I took a sip.
"Feeling better? I got worried after you were suddenly rushed back to camp. Well I guess it's to be expected after using all those strange martial arts." Elesis said, I put the cup to the side and looked over at her. I had forgotten for a second that Elesis was their and witnessed that massacre. I held her hand, "I better explain it then." I said, taking a deep breath in.
"Those martial arts used in my clan. Infernal Circle, Suppression Energy, and Energy Void all of these attacks are meant to face armies. The were techniques formed by my clans strongest warriors, the Rajas. Legends say only a single one of them is said to be equivalent to 50 armed soldiers. That was the usual tale, but for my grandmother she was Eun's host." I said as I formed a sphere of dark energy in my hand.
"In my grandmothers prime she equaled to 150 soldiers, she wouldn't break a sweat so the exact number is unknown, compared to her the me right now barely managed to take on 70 even after using all the techniques I knew. If I was like her in her prime Energy Void would pull in their whole force, heck Suppression Energy would kill 100 instantly." I said.
"Amazing….But what do you mean your grandmothers prime? She wielded this power before you? Who's Eun?" Elesis asked, I thought about it for a little, "Well I guess it would be alright." I said as I got up on my feet.
"The existance of Eun is a family secret, my grandmother was its first host and I am her second host. Now about Eun, she's the Millennium Fox, she gained that title because of her life span and her wisdom." I said as I pointed a finger at the ground beside me, "Eun come forth." I said, right after I said this Eun jumped out of the a magic circle that had formed.
"Hello Grand Knight, I am Eun, this one's partner." Eun said, using her telepathic powers to speak.
Startled Elesis responded, "Oh..hello" she said as she reached a hand out, lightly touching the top of Eun's head. "For a ghost...she feels so real." I chuckled at her statement, "Ahhh Elesis, she is real. She's the ruler of the spirit realm, that doesn't mean she's a spirit herself." Elesis nodded her head, "I see, I see…" seeing as introductions have finished I looked at Eun signaling her to return, I then called forth my spear once again. "Let's return to the battle shall we?" agreeing with me Elesis stood up and grabbed her massive Claymore, seeing that we were set I made off to the battlefield once more.
-That Evening Residential Area 3-
"Stop." I raised a hand signaling all the troops behind me to halt where they stood, "Diabla, I can feel another Uno Hound is around, it's not even trying to hide it's aura." I said, pointing my spear at the gate before us, "Oh I get it. Well I'll gladly head first then~." Lu said as she stepped forward, "Hmm, can I break it down?" She asked as she examined the gate, I nodded with a sigh. Lu's face had a large grin on it as she raised her massive fist into the air.
"Land Crusher!" slamming her fist down on the ground, she sent a wave of demonic magic flying towards the gate. With a large bang the gate that was once before us was no longer their.
"Alright, then I'll take lead." Ciel said as he stepped over the rubble.
Things got quiet from there, Lu tried scanning the area for Ciel, few seconds later Ciel came flying out as he landed right beside Lu, "Oh...t-that wasn't fun…." He said, my instincts told me something dangerous was standing before us. Quickly my gaze shifted back to the gate that Ciel came flying from, standing before us was an Uno Hound way larger than the other ones, "Oh...boy...he came huh." Lu said while scratching her head. "Hiii Lanos, oh! Moonstar and Shinee too, oh how bad this got~!" Lu said with a sarcastic tone.
From the way she sounded Lu had a few encounters with them. "Should I expect this situation to get bad?" I asked Lu. She nodded her head without looking back. "He could be called the chief of those hounds.. Moonstar and Shinee are equals to Chloe, maybe a bit crazier than her though." she said.
At that moment, Lanos came leaping through the air Lanos, his fist raised above his head. "Dodge!" I shouted as I rolled to the side, Ciel had also avoided the attack with his fast reflexes but the same couldn't be said for the knights who came along. "Everyone scatter! If we're bundled like this he'll eliminate all in one go!" I said as I dusted off my outfit.
Right when I looked back up an arrow was flying directly at me, with a swift movement I turned my body to the side avoiding the arrow. When I looked back the one called Moonstar readied her bow again, "Rapid Shot!" she yelled as countless arrows came at me, "Why me!?" I shrieked. I really wasn't good with these distanced fights, I channeled a sphere of dark energy and fired it off at her, "I also have a few tricks up my sleeve!" I said, when my attack connected I looked over in Rena's direction who seemed to have Shinee after her.
"Hmph aiming for the weak ones as usual, Spinning Kick." the one called Shinee charged Rena. Rena managed to avoid the attack but that move didn't settle well with her.
"Wha! You! Where did you learn that!?" Rena who was surprised that her martial arts were known to another.
"Don't think that high elves are the only ones who learn martial arts! Nature Force." slamming her legs on the ground Shinee charged Rena at full speed. "What?" Rena said as she placed on the defensive.
Back to were I was, Moonstar had her eyes set on me, "Hey, Don't forget I'm still here! Arch shot!" Moonstar said while firing off another volley of arrows at me, "You're really impatient aren't you." I said, "If you want to keep fighting like that then I'll switch to something I'm good at." I said with a slight smile, That's right...my inner animal wants to have a little bit of fun I said, tapping my spear on the ground twice the power flow in my body began to change, it was being rejected, I knew this would happen. Ever since that night the Asura in me was locked away, but right now I need it no matter the recoil. "Asura….awaken." instantaneously my black dress vanished along with my spear, in its place my original Asura attire took its place. I could feel the heat in my body build up from the sudden increase in power. "Haa..." I opened my mouth as hot steam filled the air. A magic circle formed on the ground as the Asura spear came out. I took hold of it as it's power flowed into my hand.
[The power over the spirits is once again in your hands Ara. Remember though, your limited on time, the Asura within you is raging, I can only suppress it for so long.] Eun said.
Alright, then I'll have to do this quick huh. I sent a glare at Moonstar. "Specter Walk." I whispered, my body becoming transparent and not of this world, when another one of her volleys came my way they went right through me.
"W-what, where'd she go?" Moonstar said with a stunned expression. I could understand her, afterall this was her first time experiencing a living spirit.
"Right here~" I said as I plunged my spear through her chest, I made sure it wouldn't do any physical damage but a spiritual damage, causing her to fall into a deep slumber thanks to damage to her spirit, "Demonio take this one back to our camp." I said over my shoulder, Ciel immediately ran over picking up the unconscious Moonstar.
"Commander!" A soldier ran up to me while supporting another soldier, "The Dark Elf who matches the description of the one called Chole came out to the battlefield with a small knight! They've annihilated 3 squads of Velder knights stationed at the front gates! " I was shocked, Chloe came out herself, but a small knight? I clicked my tongue, "Retreat soldier, help demonio take the injured, we'll also pull back soon."I commanded, he gave salute before running over to Ciel.
"Ahhhaaa!" Rena shouted in the distance, she was holding her arm as she jumped back over to me. "G-goddamit...she tried to take me hostage as well…who would've thought she had a blade in her shoe." Rena said, her arm seemed to have received a rather deep cut. Seeing this I helped Rena, after performing first aid I helped her walk over to the safe zone. When I arrived I looked up at Ciel who was holding Moonstar, "Call the retreat, Rena's injured and I can't use anymore magic for now." Nodding his head Ciel tied up Moonstar and headed back out to the field of battle.
-Lu's POV:-
"My Lano long time, hows the Ms! Land Crusher!" I sent my power flying at him, "Hmph!" Lano shrugged leaped into the air, "You won't win like that Lucielia! Smash!"
Oh snap, I thought to myself as I rolled to the side dodging his strike by a hair. "W-whoa, you've improved Lano…" I said, I could feel the cold sweat running down the side of my head.
"Hmph, you're just weakling now." Oh he did not just say that.
"Well you're getting pretty cocky for a low class general!" Rushing at Lano I slammed my fist into his stomach, that was a mistake because in the next instant I felt the recoil run through me, "W-what the…" I jumped back looking at my gauntlet. It was starting to shatter. "You never had this much power... Is it the dark el?" I asked.
"It is as you say, the Crimson Avenger gave us a power we never thought could be possible for demons!" Slamming his fist on the ground Lano let out quite a heavy aura, I couldn't help but flinch.
"Lu! Snap out of it! We are leaving!" I could hear Ciel shouting as Lano disappeared before my eyes, the reason being is that I was currently being carried by Ciel, I couldn't help but get flustered, "C-ciel!? Let go of me I had him!" Ciel looked at me with rage, "You think you had it!? You were shaking! If I left you there for a second more he would've taken the chance to attack!" I couldn't help but be shocked that for once, since the day we met Ciel's never yelled at me. This was the first time and I couldn't help but feel he was right.
I sighed, "Fine. Thank you for snapping me out of it Ciel. You can put me down now." Checking that I was ok for real Ciel stopped and let me down. Continuing on the run I followed behind Ciel regrouping at camp which was set up just outside the forests of Velder Kingdom.
I headed straight for the strategizing tent, "Why did you call the retreat!?" I yelled the moment I stepped into the tent, currently Rena was laying back on her chair, she was sweating a great deal as healers stood all around her casting magic on her. I felt surprised at her current state when Ciel walked in behind me he went directly to Rena and sat beside her.
I looked over at Ara who was leaning against her spear, she was currently in her Asura attire, "Is this why you called the retreat?" I asked, Ara nodded her head, "Rena...was unexpectedly poisoned but it wasn't fatal enough, for myself I pushed it a bit too much..I haven't fully recovered in these past two years, my actions were very reckless." She said, "Another reason being is that while we were fighting those three, it seems a small battle broke out between the Velder Kingdom and Chloe herself." Ara looked down on the map placing a black and gold flag in our current position then a purple one in the 3rd Residential Area.
"From the looks of it there Headquarters is..well was in the 3rd Residential Area but that doesn't mean that Lano didn't stay back with a few troops." Aisha said, Aisha was covered in dirt, I couldn't help but wonder what happened to her on the other side. She then looked at me.
"Do you have any information on this?" she pushed a drawing in front of me, "I asked a soldier to explain to me the appearance of this 'small knight' that killed 72 knights." I looked directly at the drawing.
Then it hit me, "Oh no...that's not a knight.. They are always deceiving others with there appearances...but that's a spriggan." I said as I took hold of the drawing and began to draw a larger shadow figure.
"This is it's true appearance, the magical power they possesses in this form is unimaginable." I tossed the picture to Ara, she took hold of it holding it close to her face.
"So our enemy can bend the shadows huh..." Ara mumbled as she coughed into her hand, I stared at her. How does she know about spriggans? Before I could ask her myself Ciel asked. "How do you know of this demon species?" Ciel leaned in closer to her, Ara sighed a little, "Did you guys forget how old I am? I fought countless enemies even spriggans but I tried to avoid them the most because of their binding spells they had on my shadow."
I knew how strong Ara was, she may seem like a weak girl but ever since the day she unlocked the power of the Asura and Raja she's been a pain in the ass for both the demons and the kingdoms of Velder and Hamel.
"Alrighty then, We'll continue this tomorrow, I need to rest. My body isn't in any condition to move around much." Ara said as she leaned onto Elesis who helped her out of the tent. I stood up and headed out as well, looking up to the night sky I smiled.
"A wonderful time for war I suppose~" I giggled skipping back to my own tent.
So this is AverageFantasyWriter back with an update! So, I've decided to update a lot of what I've written with this second arc in the Fallen Comrade Series. I may have missed some stuff, if you see something that doesn't make sense please let me know.
Next, the change that came to this series is supposed to tie in a little with their upcoming third jobs for each path so the build up must change so that my future plans can make sense with what was written. Another thing is soon The demon invasion will be transferred over to the Fallen comrade starting with this chapter, which you are probably reading from Elsword:Fallen Comrade so enjoy the rewrite!
