Chapter 14:

With Sally and Tails

Sally drove back to the apartment where she left Silver and the others. "Tails, I want you to tell me the truth," Sally suddenly said.

"About what," Tails asked.

"Are you a traitor and are you in love with a werewolf who is excepting your child," Sally replied.

Tails' eyes widen a bit, but he calmed himself and said, "Of course not. Why would you say?"

"Because Silver claims that he and his partners saw you and that you are league with Sonic and his brothers," Sally said.

"It's not true, there all lies. He's probably saying that to separate us," Tails lied.

"What about earlier when you were injured and you told me that you and Silver fought each other," Sally countered.

"I already told you what happened. Silver is probably telling you these lies because I managed to escape from him. And besides who are you going to believe him or me, your brother," Tails continued.

Sally looks at him and smiles, "Your right, I'm sorry Tails. I should have known that you would never betray us or fall in love with a creature that killed our family. After all we did promise to tell each other everything." Tails smiles, but then Sally confessed, "But, I feel like I can't trust you just yet."

"Alright," Tails said as he began to worry about being discovered, but he also began to feel guilty about what his sister had said. Sally drives up to the apartment and parks the car. She and Tails walk inside.

As they are walking up the stairs, they heard someone running up stairs. They look and see Marine and the werewolves running after them. Sally and Tails quickly run into the room where Silver was. Silver sees them run in and asked, "What's going on?"

"We have to go," Sally answered. Suddenly, they heard someone trying to break down the door. Sally checks the cameras and sees that werewolves were about to break down the door. Sally draws out her and she starts to fire while the others do the same. Then, Sally sees a window and shouts, "Get down!" Everyone gets down as she shot the window and gets back to shooting the werewolves.

"Jump Blaze, we'll be right behind you," Silver shouted. Blaze looks out the window and sees that it's high, but she takes a deep breath and jumps. She lands on her feet and gets up, but suddenly a car pulls up and Jet and Strom get out and grab Blaze.

Blaze tries to fight back, but Jet and Strom punch her out cold and put her into the car. Then, they drive away. Silver and the others manage to finish off the werewolves, but Silver looks out the window and realized that they took Blaze.

"Damn, they took Blaze away again," Silver growled as he punched the wall, which made a hole. Then, they heard someone gasping. Tails goes to look and sees that Marine is still alive, but weak from the bullet wound on her shoulder.

Marine sees Tails pointing his gun at her and asked, "Why Tails?"

"Because I'm a Death Hunter," Tails replied as he knocked her out cold. Tails was about to shoot Marine, but Sally stops him. "No, wait Tails."

"Why," Tails asked.

"She may be the proof that we need, so let's take her back to the mansion along with Silver," Sally replied.

Tails starts to worry, but he said, "Fine, but I think we should just kill her."

"Why because you don't want her to reveal that you're a traitor and in love with a werewolf," Silver sneered.

"No, it's not that. It's the fact that she won't talk and I'm not a traitor," Tails snapped.

Sally sensed that a fight would break out and decided intervene, "Listen we don't have time to argue about this and besides Silver I believe my brother."

"Alright, let's go," Silver said.

"Are you sure? What if it's a trap," Knuckles asked.

"Believe me, it's not. If we bring this werewolf, then maybe Black Doom and Maria would make an alliance with you," Sally answered.

"She's got a point, so let's go," Silver said. Knuckles nods his and follows Silver outside. Sally grabs Marine and drags her outside. Then, she puts her inside the car and then they drive back to the mansion.

Back at the mansion

Dr. Finitevus was waiting to see if Aleena had arrived. "Any sign of Aleena," Dr. Finitevus asked.

"Not yet," a Death Hunter replied.

"Aleena should have arrived by now," Dr. Finitevus said. Then, he saw Scourge and the team walking in and started to get suspicious. "Listen, I want you and a few men to go out and see what's taking long," Dr. Finitevus ordered. The Death Hunter nods his head and leaves.

Meanwhile, Sonic was in his room when Manic walked up to him. "Black Doom wants to see us," Manic informed. Sonic gets up and walks toward the tombs.

"He's at his room," Manic informed. Sonic turns around and walks to Black Doom's room. Inside the room, Black Doom was drinking the last IV bag of blood, as he started to look to normal. Black Doom's room was mostly dark gray and the floor was made of stone.

"You called, my lord," Sonic said as he and his brothers walked.

"I asked for Sally," Black Doom snapped.

"She has defied your orders, my lord. She has fled the mansion and took Tails with her," Scourge informed.

"I wonder why," Maria said she walked in wearing the same dress, black wedged heels, and a black plastic headband.

"She believes that we're at the center of some conspiracy," Manic said.

"And here's my proof," Sally shouted as she and the others walked in dragging Marine. Sally throws Marine to the ground and chained her to the ground. "Now tell them everything that you know," Sally demanded. Marine doesn't say anything, so Sally crushes Marine's shoulder with her hands.

Marine yells in pain and starts to talk, "For years we tried to created more hybrids without breeding our species together, but failed. Recently, we discovered that there is a trait that has been passed down to relative of Nazo and Isabelle the hedgehog, a trait that can create more hybrids."

"There can't be no such trait and besides there's already a hybrid," Maria snarled as she pointed to Silver.

"That may be true, but our species do have a common ancestor, which is the mutation of the original virus that made Nazo and his wife, Isabelle, into the first true immortals in the 5th century. Then, a year later Isabelle gave birth to triplets, who inherited the trait," Marine continued, but then she was cut off by Black Doom.

"Yes, the children of Nazo and Isabelle. One bitten by bat, one by wolf, and one destined to remain mortal. It's a nothing more but a legend."

"It may be a legend, but our species' ancestor is the mutation of the original virus. Which has been passed down to his relatives," Marine continued.

"There's a relative of Nazo lying in this mansion," Maria cut in.

"Yes, but he is already a vampire. We need a pure source that is an almost copy of the original virus. And the source that we discovered happens to be Silver," Marine said as she looked at Silver. Silver's eyes widen.
