Two Months Later
"I swear, I'm never eating pho again!" Azula had been throwing up nonstop ever since she went to this noodle house in Republic City with Aang.
"But you love pho!"
"Not no more!"
"Maybe you should go to the doctor."
"I already went. He said to wait for it to pass."
"That was almost two weeks ago. Maybe it's something else."
"Do you think I'm dying?"
"No."
"Oh Agni I'm dying, what did I do to deserve this!
"Azula I'm sure it's not that bad."
"How would you know? I'm dying!"
Four hours later, they were at the royal doctor's office and she gave her symptoms: vomiting, exhaustion, random scents threw her off.
"Are you late?" the doctor asked her
"Late for what?" Aang inquired.
The doctor took a look at the Princess.
"Yes."
"Congratulations, you're pregnant."
"Shut up!"
"See, I knew you weren't dying!"
"Shut up and hug me you fool!"
5 Months Later
"I'm so fat!"
"You aren't fat. You're pregnant," Aang told her.
"With twins, I may as well be a beached whale."
"I think you are cuter than any whale I've ever seen."
"Well, glad to know you won't leave me for a cetus."
"You are such a dork."
"Just because you don't remember Latin doesn't make me a dork."
"Sorry I learned it over 100 years ago."
"That's your excuse for everything."
"Still works!"
They were on their way to the palace. It was Kya's second birthday party and her parents worked together to plan it. She was also old enough to eat the cake this year.
When they got there, they promptly got ushered into the palace while Appa was taken to the barn.
"It's about to start!"
"She's two? How fancy can this be?"
Apparently, it can be over the top. They had ostrich pony rides, a jester, a magician and a fire breather. There was glitter and sequins every where. The Fire Lord was so sparkly.
"You look ridiculous," Azula told her brother.
"Kya picked out my outfit today." He was wearing sparkling silver pants and a pink shirt.
"Where did you get those clothes?"
"Katara and I went to a disco night as one of our dates."
She looked up to see Katara in a similarly sparkling silver dress. "Let me guess, Kya dressed her up too!"
"Yep!"
"I would have killed to see Ozai and Ursa dressed like this as a child."
Speaking of the devil, Azula saw her mother wearing a dress covered in feathers. "What I missed out on by moving out of the palace?"
"Those outfits look fun," Aang said.
"I'll get you one!"
"I was thinking for our kids."
"Wait, we can dress them up in stupid outfits?"
"Why not?"
"Now I can't wait for these suckers to come out."
"Glad to see you're looking forward to parenthood," Zuko said dryly.
"Don't judge me Zuzu! Where's the birthday girl?"
Kya was with the other two year olds. Azula scooped her up. "Where's my favorite niece? I can't find her anywhere."
"HERE!"
"Wait, is this Kya? It can't be. Kya's tiny, and this girl's all grown up."
"Nope! It's me!"
Azula kissed her head. "Happy Birthday Kya!"
"You're belly's all big!"
"It is."
"Mommy said there's a baby in there!"
"There's two babies in here."
"I get two cousins. Yay!"
Iroh looked warmly at his family. He had on a jester hat that Kya had picked out just for him. To think Azula was about to have twins, and Zuko and Katara were finally happy again. They were even talking about giving Kya a sibling soon. He'd have yet another niece or nephew to play with. Ursa had a similar look of accomplishment when she looked at her two kids and their families.
The End
