Edward's POV ~ 10 Months Later
So, today was the day. After ten months of waiting... Bella and I were going to officially by law going to be together. And I couldn't hold the excitement. I remember waking up this morning and pulling a flower from the garden and placed it on my pillow along with a note that sat right beside it, folded in half with the best handwriting I could do. When I quietly and carefully walked into the closet and grabbed my stuff, I smiled hearing Bella in the shower and made my way to the guest bedroom in our home where Bella's father, my father, Emmet, Jasper, and Bella's brother were all in, getting ready together. I was thankful that they had showered at home and I had showered before my nap. "Hey Eddie boy!" Emmet cheered, throwing one arm around my shoulders, smiling. "So, you excited man? nervous?" I chuckled.
"Well.. yeah I am overly excited. And yes, I am nervous, but not for reasons other people may be nervous about." As I finished this, I went into my walk in closet and pulled on the tuxedo and shoes before walking out. Everyone looked at me, and I found Esme in here talking with Carlisle and when she saw me the tears cascaded down her cheeks with a huge smile. I was thankful that she hadn't put her makeup on yet, I would have hated myself for ruining Alice's masterpiece.
"Oh Edward!" She gasped, pulling me into a careful hug. "Oh, you know, if only your biological mother and father were still here. They would be so proud of you. I couldn't have asked for a better son." She said, casually fixing my tie. When she mentioned my parents I felt a quick sting of pain but this sting of pain vanished when my mother reminded me that there was going to be two photos on easels. One with my biological parents, Elizabeth and Edward Sr. and one with Bella's mother, Renee. I could only imagine how Bella would feel when she would see the image of her mother. Since I had never really seen Bella's mother I looked at the photo on the easel in the room and smiled. Renee looked so happy and very beautiful. Just like Bella. These easel photos were going to be a surprise for Bella to see at the wedding.
And even though people say men shouldn't cry I couldn't help the tears that brimmed my eyes when looked at the two photos. I looked over at Bella's father Charlie and saw his eyes were also a little puffy and red when looking at Renee. "This will make Bella very happy. She always told me how she wanted to have her mother there. And now she will be." I nodded and gave Charlie a manly hug before we both looked in the mirror and took tissues to wipe away the evidence of tears. I noticed Charlie pick two things up off of the dresser and hand them to me.
"Don't forget your cufflinks." I nodded with a thank you and focused on my wrists, trying to put them on. "Oh, Edward?" I looked up at him just in time for him to pat my shoulder. "Son... it takes a very special man to add into his wants the female's. This is very beautiful that you want to do this for Bella. I couldn't find another man that could or would ever be better for her." I felt seven more hands pat my shoulders and my upper back. I looked behind me to see that it was Sam, Paul, Quil, Embry, Jared, Jacob, and Laurent.
"Yeah." They all said with a smile.
"Now let's get there. So we can watch this amazing union." Carlisle said, watching, looking around to see if we were clear on our way towards the car while Bella's Father, Brother's, Cousin Seth, Friend Laurent, and Esme went to see Bella. I was jealous that I wouldn't be the first to see her, but I shook it off and got into the car.
Bella and I had arranged to have our wedding in a lilac and honeysuckle flower meadow. And since we were having our wedding in the early evening and the reception at night Bella and I had taken a nap. When I made it there I saw everything was set up and I walked up to the alter and placed Bella's mom's photo near the altar and the same with my biological parents. I looked around to see if I could help at all. This is when the aisle caught my attention. It led down the middle and behind a sheer, lace curtain. This was so beautiful that I couldn't help but wanna shine throughout. But I would make sure that that special moment for me would wait until Bella arrives. I then took a look at all the things here. The chairs were black, the aisle was grass with white flower petals. Our altar was under a large weeping willow with twinkle lights wrapped around the trunk and branches of the tree. Our altar (the gazebo) also had twinkle lights wrapped all around the gazebo. This was truly gorgeous.
Bella's POV
The sun, shined upon my face as the afternoon sun made it's presence known by it's rays of light. When I moved slightly. I felt Edward's one arm around me and I smiled. His face was so angelic and so peaceful that it made me believe he was an angel, meant to come to earth for me. Carefully I moved his arm from over me and looked at him as he slept. And I couldn't help but smile. Today was a day that would officially bind us, and I wanted to look as good as possible. No matter how much I hated really dressing up, today was an exception.
I got up and grabbed my clean house coat before going into the shower. The night before Edward and I had invited our family and friends who were in our party. And I guessed that while I was napping Alice had stocked my bathroom with items that I would use to get washed up. While undressing for the shower I looked at the products. The shampoo, conditioner, the soap were all strawberry scented. Alice knew me all too well. I turned the dial on the shower and turned the water to become warm. During the shower I washed, shaved, cleansed... in a way did everything and took every opportunity to clean myself perfectly. Of course I bathed and was clean.. just today I kept feeling insecure about my being clean. I wanted to look good for Edward.
As soon as I finished I got out to find Edward out of bed, and Rosalie, Alice, Esme, Leah, and Sue in my room, setting up everything I... well they think I need to get ready. Keeping me in the satin house coat sat me down in a chair she brought in front of my vanity... a christmas present from Alice last year and began working on my makeup while Sue and Rosalie worked on my hair and nails. Leah prefered to get all of my stuff together such as dress, jewelry, shoes, hair pieces, etc. "So Bella. Don't you worry. We're going to make you so beautiful that you will be the envy of every angel in heaven." Alice said, almost bragging about her styling skills.
I giggle before saying, "Ok, looking forward to it." Esme stepped out to go see Edward and Carlisle. I was a little jealous that she would see Edward, but it was her son after all. It was the softness and smooth touch of Alice's fingers and make-up brushes and smooth feeling over Sue's hands running threw my hair that almost put me to sleep for another nap. Which I did end up falling asleep until I felt Alice's palm patting my shoulder.
"Bella.. look in the mirror. You're so beautiful." I first waited for my eyes to adjust to the light. I didn't wait to rub them like I usually did as to not mess up what Alice has worked so hard on. After I could see clearly I looked into the mirror and gasped. I looked like... I couldn't even explain how beautiful I looked. My eyes were like the earth, green and brown blended perfectly with the fair tone of my skin, almost like I was a goddess of the earth. My skin was completely smooth, not a single common acne visible, and my lips, the color of warm liquid cinnamon. I almost couldn't believe it so very lightly I poked my cheek.. this was my face. Now was when I caught the sight of my hair. It was pulled back together into a bunch of beach waves with intricate white flowers woven into the braids at the sides and back of my head. I turned to look at Alice and Sue and hugged them.
"Oh Alice! Sue! Thank you!" A small giggle came from them.
"You're very welcome honey." Sue said.
"Now... let's get you into your dress." Leah said, easing it amazingly over my hair and makeup. Alice was immediately at the back lacing up my dress. I looked over at the dresser and saw my necklace and earring set that was passed down to me from my father's mother Grandma Swan. I picked them up and put them on. Edward and I had decided together that we wanted to use my engagement ring as my wedding band so that was going to wait until the ceremony. I turned to look at Rosalie, Alice, my aunt Sue, and my cousin Leah, and did a slowly spin, at least that made Alice smile.
"Bella, you look amazing." My aunt commented as my friends nodded. I then walked towards my dresser again and slipped my shoes on which were one inch silver strap heels when the door opened and I heard a two gasps. I looked up to see that it was my father and Esme.
"Bella!" My father and brothers gasped, pulling me into a careful group-hug.
"You look beautiful Bells." Seth said, giving me a thumbs up. All I could do was blush right now, so That's what happened.
"Thanks guys. So.. shall we get going?"
"Wait! I think you're forgetting something." Laurent ran towards the vanity and gingerly handed me my blue and purple orchid flower bouquet. I smiled and leaned down to smell the flowers and it made me smile, the perfect scent of spring. And we left the house and made our way towards the meadow. We parked the car where the aisle began which was behind a couple trees. And we all lined up making our way down the aisle, with my father and I's arms wrapped around each other's, making our way towards my destiny.
Edward's POV
After about five minutes we heard the cars pull in at the end of the aisle and saw the first group walk behind the entrance of the actual aisle. Now I was getting so nervous that my legs were starting to shake a little. As well all got in our place awaiting for the bride to make her way down the aisle. All the men and the women walked down the aisle to the music of the piano and took their places where the bridesmaids and the groomsmen stood. In total we had 6 bridesmaids (Esme, Sue, Leah, Alice, Rosalie, Renee's photo) and 10 groomsmen (Emmet, Jasper, Sam, Paul, Jared, Jacob, Seth, Quil, Embry, and Laurent). Bella had chosen her friend Alice and Rosalie to be her Bridesmaids. And I had chosen Jasper and Sam as my Best Men. Soon pachelbel's cannon sounded on the piano and Bella and her father Charlie began to make their way down the aisle. And the moment I saw Bella, I gasped.
She was breathtakingly beautiful. A blushing bride. I mean of course she was always beautiful and had always looked beautiful to me, but today... It almost felt like the march was taking to long, I almost wanted to run down the aisle, sweep her into my arms and run her to the altar next to me, but I held my ground, patiently waiting for her to get to me. As I waited to look all of her beauty in. Her hair was pulled back in the front into a bunch of beautiful beach waves where white flowers where delicately woven into some of the beach waves. (Entire Outfit Link on Profile. Check it out ;) Her beauty was indescribable and I would be showing her just how gorgeous she was later. I blushed a little just thinking about it.
Bella's eyes had stayed on me, not looking at anything else so she hadn't noticed the photo yet, which maybe that was good. I didn't want to make her cry, but she would most likely cry when she saw it during the reception. At last Bella was just in front of me, and Charlie glanced at me with a smile and nod just before giving Bella's cheek a kiss and gingerly placing her hand in mine. Her small, delicate hand was so warm in mine. I smiled at her, "Hello my sweet." She just blushed and nodded as I led her onto the gazebo steps and turning to the priest. And he began his speech.
"Everyone, please be seated. We are gathered here today to give thanks and to celebrate one of life's greatest moments. To give recognition to the beauty, honesty, and unselfish ways of Edward and Bella's true love in front of family and friends. For it is their family and friends who taught Edward and Bella to love. Together we are here in the sight of God to join together this Man and this Woman in holy Matrimony; and into which holy estate these two persons present come now to be joined. If any man or woman can show any just cause, why they may not lawfully be joined together, let him now speak, or else hereafter forever hold his peace." No one spoke and the priest nodded and signaled for Bella and I to give each other out vows.
"I, Edward Masen-Cullen, take you, Isabella Swan, as my beloved wife from this day forward, I promise to love and to cherish you, and to faithfully protect this love I feel for you, Nurturing it with the energies and passions of my soul that it may grow and strengthen with the years. I will stand by your side as your husband in all the days of joy and sorrow that await us. I will keep my body, my dreams and desires for you alone as the sweet and sacred companion of my life." Bella smiled, hearing my vow to her and a lone tear escaped her eye as she began her vow.
" And I, Isabella Swan, take you, Edward Masen-Cullen, as my beloved husband from this day forward, I promise to love and to cherish you, and to faithfully protect this love I feel for you, Nurturing it with the energies and passions of my soul that it may grow and strengthen with the years. I will stand by your side as your husband/wife in all the days of joy and sorrow that await us. I will keep my body, my dreams and desires for you alone as the sweet and sacred companion of my life." I smiled and she blushed waiting for the priest to continue.
"By the Law invested in me and in the State of Washington. I now pronounce you Husband and Wife." Bella blushed even deeper for the next part as well as I. "You may kiss the bride." I was glowing as I leaned forward to press my lips to her lovingly. And as a way of deepening the kiss I caressed her cheek in my hand. The kiss lasted about a minute before we unwillingly broke apart and were cheered on by our guests. I couldn't contain myself when we made it to the Bride and Groom table. I had to press my lips to hers one more time and I sighed happily. We were married now. I couldn't help but be so happy that I felt like my heart was going to burst.
We did all the activities. We cut the cake together along to the song from the movie "Wedding Singer" when Adam Sandler sang to Julia on the airplane about loving her. The cake was strawberry with vanilla fondant. And since our theme was A Starry Night the Fondant was airbrushed from a light baby blue down to a dark navy blue and had edible silver glitter. When we were supposed to feed it to each other I decided to play and I shoved it in her face and she gasped with a huge smile that spoke, "No you didn't!" I laughed as I turned to grab a napkin to help get it off her face when I startled by something hitting the back of my head. We laughed so much because of that. And I removed the garter... embarrassingly for Bella and I both and I shot it at my brother Jasper for fun, which caused him to blush.
One event of the night was when Bella noticed the two photos on the two easels. The one of her mother and the one of my parents and she cried happily. She had stated that she couldn't have been more happy because that meant that they were here in spirit. Now we were taking our seats and Alice had stolen the microphone... great. I chuckle to myself quietly as she began to speak.
"Hi everyone. Well first off I just wanted to say congratulations and that I'm so happy for you. You two are like two perfect souls that perfectly found each other. You are lucky and I know you two will end up spending eternity together." Bella smiled. And Emmet took the microphone. Oh god!
"Well bro, new sis. Congrats! I couldn't be happier seeing these two getting married. Even though I have pretty much been pulling Edward's leg for most of his life I am super happy for you Eddie!" I shook my head laughing at my old nickname from him and nodded him a thank you. This is when I got up and took a quick drink of my Champagne before speaking.
"It's an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to and accept you for what you are. I've been waiting, for what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am. With Bella I feel like I can finally begin. So I'd like to propose a toast to my beautiful bride. No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever." I heard Awe's from the crowd and I looked at them. "Bella and I would like to thank you all for being here with us for this wedding. Please enjoy yourselves. With this I sat down and we ate dinner and as soon as we finished it was time for our first dance as a married couple. I looked at her as I stood and did a man's version of a bow, leaning downwards, extending my hand out towards her. "Fair Lady... may I have this dance?" She blushed and nodded as we made our way to the dance floor and the song, "May I-Trading Yesterday" and "Just The Way You Are-Bruno Mars" Was played.
This wedding was so amazing. Up next was the Father Daughter dance. I sat with Esme and Carlisle watching Bella and Charlie having their wonderful moment and it made me smile. She looked so happy and I was happy as well.
Soon it was time to leave for our honeymoon destination But first Bella threw the Bouquet and Alice caught it. I guessed that Alice and Jasper would be the next couple to get married. As we were on our way out we hugged everyone and they wished us luck as we left for our honeymoon vacation.
