That last episode got me so confused, oh my god. Also, does anyone else really dislike Hayden? Cause I do...alot.
First day of school, Charlotte thought as she walked down campus with Stiles and Malia who were talking about some kid named Theo. "Seriously Stiles, shut up." She interupted her brother who was rambling about some stupid speeding ticket "If dad didn't get you out all of your tickets you would have seventeen of them."
"Seriously, Charlie? You're not supposed to tell anyone, that's the whole point of having dad make them disappear."
Charlotte nodded "Yeah, sure. Anyway, I'll see you two later. Don't forget you're my ride home." She told her brother and his girlfriend before heading off into the building to catch up with Liam and Mason.
"Hey guys." She greeted the boys once she reached them. "Hey, Charlie. Good thing you're here. Look, I got this book…" Mason started as the three of them headed towards their first class. "It's the one I was telling you about. I got it from a rare book dealer in Germany. It cost me 200 bucks but it was totally worth it." he explained as he rapidly started flipping through the pages. "You're still reading about this stuff?" Liam asked him.
"I was attacked by an armorplated giant wearing a skull. It left an impression." He told the two "Look, look have you ever seen anything like this?" he asked them, showing them one of the pictures in the book that looked like a beserker.
"Uh…no, never." God, Liam was such a terrible liar. "Guys, I gotta go. Math." Charlotte told the boys who were both in history first period. Liam nodded while Mason kept rambling on about his new book filled with supernatural creatures. "Bye guys." She said, giving them both a smile before running of to Math class.
Charlotte was standing next to Liam's locker as she waited for him and Mason, more out of habit than actually wanting to. Things had been weird lately between her and Liam. It wasn't very obvious because they still spend the same amount of time together as they always would but there was just something that felt off, probably because he knew she was lying her ass off most of the time lately. Liam knew Charlotte wasn't herself since Mexico but after weeks of asking and always getting another lie in return, he just stopped asking.
"What happened?" Charlotte asked, muffling her giggles as she saw Liam walking towards her, wearing his lacrosse shorts. "Nothing…bubblegum…I'll explain later." He told and continued to talk to Mason who still seemed to be on about the supernatural creatured he talked about earlier. "Shouldn't you be thinking about other things? Like…like the soccer team?" Liam told Mason as the soccer team walked by.
"What do you think I'm going to do? Follow them out on the field and watch them practice while I pretend to study?" Mason said, barely able to keep his eyes off of the soccer boys.
"It's warm out, they're probably going to be shirtless." Liam told him. Mason nodded "Yeah, I'll see you in physics." Before running after the soccer team. Charlotte crossed her arms as she leaned against the lockers, looking at Liam's shorts with an amused look on her face "You going to tell me what happened to your jeans now?"
"Yeah, like I said, there was bubblegum on my seat and I sat in it. Don't look so amused." He told her as Charlotte let out a laugh. "Poor thing." She said with a smile on her face as Liam let out a sigh and opened his locker. She tried so hard to pretend that nothing was wrong but the way Liam was acting, she just knew he was getting tired of her.
"Nice shorts." a voice was heard, after the smashing of a locker door. "Yeah, thanks. I was wondering if you were still pissed off about the sixth grade, but uhh…I guess you cleared that up." He said, holding up his stained jeans. Charlotte frowned at the curly, brown haired girl she remembered to be Hayden Romero.
"I'm not pissed off Liam, I'm vengefull." She said, a hatefull look on her face that quickly shot towards Charlotte who she looked up and down with that same disapproving look "Stilinski." She said. "Romero." Charlotte replied before the girl took off once again.
"You two know eachother?" Liam asked his girlfriend who just shrugged. "Not really, we had physics together last year and she was my lab partner, we didn't really get along." The girl explained.
"Yo, Charlotte." Charlotte turned around when she heared the voice of Mason calling her "What's up?" she asked, turning back around to close her locker. "Have you seen Liam?" he asked.
"Yeah, he took off with Stiles a few minutes ago. Which means I now have to walk home." She told him, followed with a sigh. "Well, I'm going to wait here for Liam. We were supposed to meet at the school gym. It would be a hell of a lot more fun if you stayed her too."
Charlotte shrugged "Yeah, why not."
They walked outside and sat down on the stairs outside the school building. Almost instantly Mason pulled out that book from earlier. "You know, there are a lot of cool things in here. Like werewolves, bashees and…drekavacs. Have you ever heard of that?" Charlotte snatched the book from Mason's hands before she could even think about what she was doing "Oh…uhhh…no. Hey, do you mind if I hold on to this for a while?"
Mason stared at her with a confused look in his eyes but eventually said yes to her request. Charlotte had googled everything there was to google about Drekavacs but she found almost nothing, turns out they're pretty rare.
"Charlie? Do you mind me asking you something?" Charlotte looked up at Maso with a questioning look in her eyes though she knew what was coming "Yeah, sure, what's up?" she asked him, just in case. "You and Liam? Are you two doing okay?"
Whoop, there it was!
A deep sigh escaped Charlotte's lips as she ran her hands through her chocolate curls "I…." she started, trying to find the right words "…don't know." She eventually told him. "Why? Has he said anything?"
Mason shook his head in reply "No." He told her. "It's just obvious. You two aren't as clingy as you used to be and…I don't know, forget it, it's none of my business anyway."
Charlotte abscentmindedly nodded. She knew it was extremely obvious that there was something wrong but she just hoped that it was all in her head and that she could fix it somehow.
"Hey, you know what, I don't think Liam's coming anymore. I'm just going to go work out now. You can look through the book till I come back." Mason told her before standing up and walking towards the gym, leaving Charlotte alone with his 200 bucks book.
She frantically started flipping through the pages, looking for the one creature she needed until she finally found it. The horrifying picture that came with the information gave her a weird, terrified feeling.
"Drekavac also called drek and drekalo is a mythical creature in south Slavic mythology. The name is derived from the adjective drečati, meaning bawling. Drekavac comes from the souls of children who have died unbaptised. The creature is not consistently described. One description is that its body is dappled, elongated and thin as a spindle, with disproportionately large head; yet another is that it is some kind of bird; a modern find of supposed drekavac body looked like a dog or a fox, but with hind legs similar to those of kangaroo. It may also appear in the form of a child and call for people passing near the cemetery to baptise it. The one feature everyone agrees about is its horrifying yell." (editors note; thank you wikipedia)
"Well that's slightly terrifying," Charlotte muttered before closing the book again.
After about two hours she was met once again with Mason "Found what you were looking for?" he asked her as she handed him back his book. She shook her head "Naah…cool book though." She told him, it being a complete lie. He nodded as he put the book back in his backpack "Okay, well I'm heading home. I'll walk you home first if you'd like." Charlotte nodded in reply before both heading outside. They were only on the parking lot when they were met by Liam who seemed like he had been running for quiet some time "Hey…hey, sorry I'm late."
"No, you're not late. You missed it. I worked out, for two hours."
"Yeah, I know, I forgot and I'm going to tell you why…" Liam started. Oh boy, was this THE talk, was he finally going to tell his best friend about everything that was going on? "Actually, I'm going to tell you a lot of things, really hard to believe things…really hard to believe…" he started.
"There's a wolf." Mason interupted him, making Charlotte look up at the black wolf that was standing behind Liam. "Yeah I'm getting to that." Liam said, shaking his head.
"No, Liam, there's an actual wolf." Charlotte stated as she slowly started to back up. Liam slowly turned around to look at the black wolf that slowly started to approach the three teenagers. "That's a wolf." Liam stated. "Yeah…I think we should run." Charlotte spoke up before turning around to run towards the building as fast as she could with the two boys behind her and that wolf behind them. Both Charlotte and Mason had already climbed the stairs to the first floor when they suddenly heard a loud roar coming from downstairs.
It was Liam who had shifted into his werewolf form to stop the wolf. And it worked! The wolf came to a stop before running back outside. "Look there's something I need to tell you." Liam told Mason when he shifted back to his human form. "You're a werewolf!" Mason exclaimed, a grin on his face.
"Wait, so you're not upset?" Liam started, his face turned into a frown as he looked at his best friend. "Upset? No, this is awesome!" Mason told him.
"Guys, I don't know about you but I really wanna go home now." Charlotte told the two boys who were just looking at eachother with weird smiles on their faces. She was happy fort hem, knowing that Liam finally stopped lying to his best friend but unfortunatley that just made her feel worse.
"Charlie, are you okay?" Liam asked her, that oh so familiar worried look in his eyes. She nodded, crossing her arms infront of her chest and abscentmindedly pulling on her backpack strap "Yep," she said, followed by another nod. "Anyway, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye." she turned around to make her way across the parking lot when she heard Liam call her name again "Wait! I'll walk you home." He told her but she just shook her head "No, Liam, it's fine. Bye."
"Oh God, Charlie, I'm so sorry." Stiles said once his sister had closed the front door behind her. "I know I was your ride home, I'm so sorry! I totally forgot about that. Hey, how about I make it up to you, huh? We could go out for pizza? You know, just the two of us like old times." he continued, giving her a big smile when he proposed to go out for pizza later this week.
Charlotte, who by now was having a hard time not to choke on her upcoming tears, turned around to walk towards the stairs "Oh uhhh….no, it's okay, Stiles. Maybe another time, okay?" she quickly gave him the best fake smile she could before running up the stairs towards her room, ignoring her brother who called her name.
