Chapter 14
I let out a groan of frustration, You have got to be kidding me! What does this guy think! He can learn from keeping me here?! I turn towards the closest wall and punch it, hard.
I twist my mouth into a sweet smile as I pull my hand away from the hard concrete now mangled with cracks. I don't bother looking down at my hand, I can feel the blood dripping off my knuckles and a few of the bones that have cracked, grinding and rotating back into place to begin healing. I turn my head ever so slightly towards where the turtles are standing.
"do you have a place that will be safe enough for me to vent my anger without, damaging anything?" I ask quietly and politely, without letting them hear the obvious venom underneath. I see surprise and fear in most of their faces, all except one. The one in red.
"yeah, follow me." he says stepping forward towards the big door. The others don't try to stop him. I follow him hiding my anger, frustration, confusion, all of it behind a mask. I watch the back of his shell, memorizing the patterns and swirls making up the hard surface, along with the chip in the bottom. For some reason I find this quite calming.
I stop and look around, I remember this place, its just the main cavern, the large metal boxes on the one side leading out to the sewers. The dugout in the middle of the room, the same layout. I can tell he's watching me from the corner of his eyes, I don't do anything though. As I said before, I will play by the 'rules' of humankind for now. I look up as he stops in front of a punching dummy, I give a soft breath of laughter at the football helmet they have changed to look like master shredders helmet. I stretch my hand out to brush it lightly against the dummy before flattening my hand against the thing. I relax as I let some of my pent up anger out on the piece of fabric, padding, and sand. Feeling the stretch and tense of my muscles as I throw punches and kicks at the dummy, I don't know how long this goes on till the dummys helmet flys off bouncing and rolling across the ground. I stop what I am doing to go grab the helmet, and put it right back on the dummy. It's only then that I notice the one in red still standing there, arms crossed, watching me.
"I don't need an armed guard, you know" I say seriously, he just arches an eyebrow.
"I keep my word," I say again, "i'm not going anywhere for a while," I explain not taking my eyes off the dummy.
"you may not have gone anywhere when my brothers left you alone, but I think i'll just stick around, just incase." he responds snarkily, I understood his message loud and clear though, 'I don't trust you, not one bit'. Well he's got a pretty good reason not to, not that he knows it. My mind wanders back to the conversation between Karai and Master Shredder I overheard. My eyes narrow in concentration, what did he mean 'I will fight for him no matter what'... I give my head a small shake and lose myself in working my muscles. The turtle in red he stands there, waiting, the entire time, until my muscles are loose and I am clamer. I don't know weather to be annoyed or….. touched? Yeesh this is why I don't often deal with emotions. I shake my head once again, pulling my arms away from the dummy.
"it's late and you guys probably need sleep, Is there a place you want me to stay so you can sleep, in peace." I ask without turning my head towards him. I only ask because I don't need sleep, its just a luxury i've gotten into the habit of using, but I can be sure I will not sleep while i'm here, I don't know these people. I really should just leave and go back to my shadow realm, all i'm doing here is causing more chaos, but thats it isn't it, I love the feel of this chaos around me.
