Rome POV

"Good," Hatchett breathed, then he blacked out.

I turned to Raven, "I've got to get him back to my dorm. Can you help me?"

"Sure," Raven smiled, then she used her magic to carry Hatchett effortlessly, "You know the way back to the dorms?"

"Yeah," I nodded, "Man, imagine how much damage I could do with magic!"

Raven laughed, "Oh man, no one would mess with you! But alas, you weren't made for that. However, I admire your swordsmanship."

"Thanks," I said as we walked out of the theatre, "I think it's natural."

"Sure seems like it," Raven gave me a wink, "Do you think you could beat Daring?"

"Eventually," I shrugged, "I think with practice, I could beat him."

"I think so too," nodded Raven, "Just don't let Daring hear you. He might challenge you to a duel!"

We laughed as we passed all the shoppes. Since it was nighttime, most of the shoppes were closed with a few exceptions. As we passed by Hocus Latte Cafe, Raven pointed inside, "Wanna get a drink real quick?"

I shook my head, "Nah."

Raven shrugged, "Okay." As we glanced in the window, Raven stopped. As I looked into the cafe, I noticed there was Dexter and another girl sitting at a table in the far corner. Dexter was laughing at something the other girl said. Raven's eyes widened and she started to walk away very quickly.

"R-Raven!" I called after her, jogging to keep up with her pace, "What's wrong?"

"N-N-Nothing!" Raven stuttered, "Everything is fine."

I looked her dead in the eye, grabbed her hand, and dragged her along with me. "Rome?! Where are you taking me?" Raven asked, flustered.

I saw the place I wanted to go, and sighed in relief, "Oh thank goodness, it's still open!" I pushed open the doors and held them open, "Raven, leave Hatchett outside on the bench."

Raven set Hatchett down and looked up at the sign, "Beak N' Robin's Ice Cream Shop? Why'd you take me here?"

I grabbed her hand and marched inside. I walked up to the counter, "Gimme the chocolatest, creamiest thing you've got."

The cashier nodded and shouted to the chefs, "Triple Fudge Cream Chocolate Sundae!"

I led Raven to a table and sat down. Raven hesitantly seated herself, "Why are you doing this?"

"You have feelings for Dexter, don't you?" I asked.

"What does that have to do with this?" Raven asked right back.

"You seemed shaken when Dexter was with that girl," I said, then the cashier called us. "Coming!" I looked at Raven, "I'll be right back."

I got up and paid the cashier. I grabbed the ice cream and walked back. I shoved it in Raven's face, "Eat."

Raven wrapped her fingers around the ice cream, "How is this gonna help?"

"Chocolate solves everything," I winked, "Now eat. I don't wanna leave Hatchett out for too long."

"Okay," Raven licked the dessert, "Y'know, this does help."

"Well, then! Eat it!" I smiled.

"Hey," Raven flashed me a chocolatey grin, "Thanks for doing this."

"Anytime," I looked outside. Within no time, Raven was done. "Finished?"

"Yeah," Raven nodded, "I'm ready."

"Cool!" I got up and held the door open, "Let's go!"

We both walked outside and stopped. "Where's Hatchett?" I cried, completely forgetting everything else, "What? How? Why would somebody take . . . ?!"

"Relax, Rome," Raven giggled, "He's still here."

"How do you know that?" I asked.

Raven walked over to the bench and tapped the air. Soon enough, Hatchett appeared and stirred. "Sometimes, dark magic users will fade into the shadows into our sleep," Raven shrugged, "Weird tidbit about magic."

"That's kinda cool," I remarked, "We gotta get back though."

"Okay," Raven picked Hatchett up with magic again and we set off towards the dorms. Soon enough, we were inside the hallway.

"Okay, I think I can take Hatchett from here," I told Raven.

"You sure you wanna keep him in your dorm?" Raven asked.

"Yeah," I nodded, "I think him and I are pretty tight now."

Raven shrugged, "It's up to you. Well, good night." She set Hatchett down and started walking towards her dorm, "Oh, Rome?"

"Yeah?"

She smiled, "You were brave today. I'm glad for you."

"Thank you," I nodded to her, "Good night."

"And don't let the bed bugs bite," Raven waved as she walked away.

I picked Hatchett up, kicked my door open, and set him down on a nearby chair. I went to my room and shuffled around, trying to find a blanket. Eventually, I found one. I groaned. It was light pink. I sighed and picked it up. I carried it over to where Hatchett was and wrapped the blanket around him the best I could.

As I tucked the blanket around Hatchett, I couldn't help but yawn. He looked so peaceful. I could feel my eyes getting droopy. I jerked myself away, "Nope! I am going to bed," I said, "In my bed."

I walked away and strode into my room. I threw on some pajamas and collapsed in my bed, not even bothering to turn off the light switch. Soon enough, I was already asleep.

OoOoOoOoO

I woke up the next morning in a groggy haze. I stretched and blindly reached out to grab my hairbrush. I eventually found it and started attempting to rid the tangles in my hair. After I gave up and decided to put my hair in a ponytail, I crawled out of bed and looked around to see if Hatchett was still there. Sure enough, there he was, snoozing away in a pink blanket. I stifled a laugh and discreetly pulled out my MirrorPhone and quietly snapped a picture.

Hatchett started to stir. I quickly put my phone away in my pajama pocket. I grinned and went back to my room to put some clothes on. I put on whatever I could find first and headed out of my door to the Castleteria.

I walked into the Castleteria and saw that there were only a few people. I grabbed whatever I could, taking one of everything (and two of my favorites), and headed back towards the dorm. Once I got there, I kicked open the door to find that Hatchett was looking around my room.

He looked at me and said, "Why'd you bring me here? Of all places?"

"It was the only place I could think of," I responded, suddenly defensive, "Besides, I couldn't have left you out there! That wouldn't be very humane!"

Hatchett closed his eyes and sighed, "Well, I'm here now, and I'll be on my way out."

"No! Wait!" Hatchett gave me a questioning glance. I gulped, "I brought you some breakfast! I mean, you don't have to eat it, if you don't want to, but it's right here, so . . ."

He grinned, "I'd love to have breakfast with you."

I sighed in relief, "Oh, good. I didn't want to eat all this food by myself." I sat down on a nearby sofa and set all the food down on the coffee table, "Take what you want."

Hatchett satisfied himself with a cinnamon bun and some fruit while I chose a muffin and some eggs. He studied his apple slice, "So, Rome?"

"Hmm?"

"What are we going to do now?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean," he took a bite of his apple. Hatchett swallowed, then continued, "People now know that you're Rome Charming, and considering your recent actions, that you're also a Rebel. So what's your next move? Are you gonna try to visit your family? Are you gonna try to lead the Rebel forces?"

"I don't know," I shook my head, "But, I want you to know . . . "

Hatchett raised his eyebrows.

". . . That whatever happens, I'd like you to be at my side," I looked him straight in the eye, "Please?"

He set his food down on the table and stood up. He stepped over to where I was on the sofa. He sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me. "I'd never want to leave your side. Ever," he whispered quietly.

I was frozen, but soon I slipped my arms around him also. "I'm glad that I could have somebody like you," I mumbled, barely audible, blinking back tears.

Hatchett rubbed my back, "Why are you crying?"

"I'm not crying," I said, "I'm just exhausted."

Hatchett released his grasp around me, "Then let's eat and talk about weird stuff like books and TV shows."

"Those aren't weird," I laughed.

He shrugged, "You never know. Some TV shows nowadays are pretty weird."

"That's true," I smiled, "Okay. Let's eat."

As we both fingered out food and were ready to shove it into our mouths, Hatchett looked at me, "Rome?"

"Yeah?"

"I like your pink blanket. It's very warm and fuzzy."

I smiled. Somehow, something in my heart told me that everything was gonna be okay. That everything was gonna work out. I didn't say anything about it, but as me and Hatchett talked, I could feel that warmth getting bigger. And soon enough, I was laughing like every problem was gone. And I can tell you for a fact, that being with that special person is the best feeling in the entire world.
