It's been two years. Woah.
I don't think anything can excuse me for it, tbh.
First of all, I'd like to give a HUGE thankyou to all of you guys who stayed patient with my unexpected two-year hiatus – first it was school, and then it was family, and then I sat my IGCSE exams, and finally once all that mess was scooped under the rug I had completely forgotten all about this.
I'll be posting chapters again, consistently, this time! And I suggest that you re-read the previous chapters so that they are refreshed in your mind. My writing style has changed dramatically and what I've wrote before is mostly cringe-worthy as I read back, but hopefully once the story is all completed I will slowly start to revisit and edit it.

A quick recap if you don't want to re-read the previous chapters (but to also clear up misconceptions):
Danny's parents died soon after the portal accident and the only alive member of his family is Jazz, who doesn't live in Amity.
Danny lives with Vlad in Amity – a city that is controlled by Vlad as he alters the music with ectoplasm to send brain-wave signals forcing everyone to listen to everything he has to say. He doesn't monitor everyone individually: these commands are programmed to appear in a person's mind when they are in that situation. They manifest in everyone's brain, and only pop when needed to. Only, it sounds like your own voice so you think it's just you thinking something like this, and it happens simultaneously with everyone else, but since nobody knows it's happening they think these are just normal routine thoughts they have. This way they get brainwashed to do everything Vlad wants them to – they don't know they are being controlled and the voices in their head is their own voice but telling them to do what Vlad wants to do. Unless it's a specific command (like the graffiti one) where he had to go and input himself as it was new and not mundane, everyday stuff.
Danny is resistant to the messages to an extent as he is half ghost, and has ectoplasm in his blood.
To try and fight the messages, Danny and Tucker make some of their own music with messages they programed.
Vlad knows about the kids attempting to resist the messages. Vlad doesn't know that Danny is half ghost.
Danny doesn't know that Vlad is half-ghost.
Also, they own a cat called Maddie.
Right now: Sam is visiting Danny, who is to be a 'positive' influence on her, as she isn't doing what the messages tell her to.
