Awake
3rdPOV
Try not to worry much after reading this...
Silas placed Bella's weakened form on a desk inside the first classroom he had passed by. He frowned upon her, her beautiful face was burn on one side. Surprisingly, Silas didn't think of her as just woman with face of his lover, he saw her as person who got hurt. Thinking about it, if there was no Amara he could imagine himself seeking company in the doppelgänger. She was no Amara, Bella was stronger, sometimes rude, often too blunt, but Silas liked her and didn't want her get hurt.
Bella passed out while he was carrying her. She was exhausted and everything bloody hurt, her muscles, her ribs from being tossed around, her face from being pressed against the hot pipes and the bones in her wrist were strangely positioned, but not breaking the fragile skin. Silas found himself afraid to think what would happen if he had arrived a second later, the other doppelgänger who just happened to be Bella's sister would killed her.
Silas frowned again, this time upon cruelty of fate, the doppelgänger before him didn't deserve this. Thousands of years ago, he couldn't have imagined that falling in love with one woman will bring so much hatred and distress in future. He had never imagined that there will be people identical to him and his lover, the doppelgängers, and some of them had even worse fate then originators of their bloodline had. His love for woman he wasn't supposed to love, destroyed many lives and Silas would never admit he feels guilty for it if he hadn't met certain doppelgänger.
"Silas..." The mentioned doppelgänger whispered. Slowly trying to open her eyes, but falling, she tried to blink and then she realized only one of her eyes was able to open.
"Shh, you need to rest." Bella went to touch her eyes, wondering what happened to it, but Silas stopped her action knowing it will only bring her more pain if she does. "You're sister did a number on you."
"She would have killed me."
"After all this time..." Silas started. "You had her, you could have ended her, but sentiment forbid you to..."
"Are you accusing me of not being the monster? I couldn't do it and that is it."
"You wouldn't do it, but your sister would."
"Please..." It was the first time Silas saw her pleading, showing vulnerability. "Refrain yourself from calling her my sister." She spoke harshly. " We stopped being sisters long time ago, now I wonder if we ever were."
Silas looked at the doppelganger and he knew what she felt and thought without getting in her head. Bella was saddened, hurt, but more than anything disappointed and not only disappointed in her sister, but disappointed in herself. Bella saw the monster in Elena, but tried to see her sister under thick facade. Now she thinks of herself to be a fool, big one. It wasn't facade, the monster in her sister is real, Elena is the monster.
"You should have killed her." Silas said after a while, not allowing the silence to wrap around them.
"I should have." Bella agreed. "But that wouldn't make me better than her. I kill the vampires, I am the vampire hunter, it is my life mission aside for killing you, but as you said sentiment forbids me to."
"What are you saying?"
"Don't pretend you don't know."
"I don't." Silas argued.
"As if." Bella scowled. "I could have killed you more than just few times by now, but I didn't, I even came up with plan in which you get the love of your life back..." Bella took deep breath preparing herself. "The sentiment doesn't allow me. I care for you, Silas, and maybe it is just because you look like someone from my past or at least that is what I tell myself is the case... Nevertheless, I care about you and if you weren't helplessly in love with other woman and only using me as distraction in same way as I am using you, maybe I could develop feelings for you, if of course I allowed myself to."
Bella stared directly at him, a solitary tear rolled down her cheek as she spoke leaving Silas speechless at first. He stared at her as she turned he head on side, closing her eye in try to prevent more tears forming. A strand if hair got in her face as she moved it, in a way it made her glad, she could use it as curtain. Silas never felt so helpless, not even when he was desiccating in darkness century after century. With trembling fingers he cupped Bella's face on side that wasn't burnt. She allowed herself to open her eye and let the tears stream down her face.
"I could have killed you many times too, by now I would have the cure if I did, but you are right, I know what you are talking about. It it the sentiment. " He wiped her tears. "I too care for you, Isabella Gilbert... And now I wish you were more than just distraction, I wish I thought of you more than a woman with her face from the start, maybe than I would stop comparing you to her as you compare me too him. You are different and while I like that about you... I love Amara."
Bella and Silas didn't love each other or at least they thought, nevertheless it didn't make the sight less heart aching. Their words were just wonder of what if, what could happen if both weren't stuck in past. The admit they care for each other, but not deeply enough. The sight of Bella beaten up, admitting her feelings and crying her soul out through one eye, made even the big bad immortal shed few tears. Their sincerity with each other was beautiful.
"Thank you for saving me."
"I'll try to always be there to save you." As he spoke he helped her sit up and then he carefully wrapped arm around her.
"You promise?"
"I promise." He kissed the top of her head. Neither of them wanted to move, both wanted to remain in this moment forever, but reality was kicking in.
"Bonnie won't lower the veil." Bella said.
"She awaits on Qetsiyah."
"Should we do something about it?"
"You will leave this place, pack you're things, leave with the hybrid if you must, but walk away from Mystic Falls and never look back."
"You don't have to say it, I already know I don't belong here... What about you?"
"I'll deal with the witch then I'll see what next."
"Okay... Um, Silas?" She gently pushed away his arm and stood in front him. "Since this is the last time will see each other in a while, can I ask a favour?"
"Shoot." He replied instantly.
"Kiss me." She said in sucha blunt manner that she ever surprised herself. She bit her bottom lip.
"We are maybe parting out way, but I guarantee you, this isn't the last time we see each other."
Bella instantly felt disappointed, he denied her and made her look foolishly. However, Silas took step forward and cupped her chin. Bella wanted to ask, but he placed his finger over her lips and smiled. Staring at her like she is the one for him which Bella knew she wasn't, Silas removed his finger and leaned down. Their lips brushed slowly, in a way that made it look like both of them were shy and never did this before, but they did.
Their eyes closed now, two melted in each other. Granting him entrance, Bella melted into him. She hooked her hands behind his neck and stood on her tiptoes. Silas too couldn't keep his hands away from her, he wanted nothing more to pull her flush against him and kiss her senseless, but she was injured from earlier so his each touch was careful. Their tongues though, were in middle of epic and destructive battle for dominance untill they were left grasping for air.
"We'll met again." Bella said. " Maybe not soon, but on day you wish to become mortal again."
"Jeremy... I have to go." Bella said in pleading tone.
"You should stay." He refused to let her go so he hugged her tighter.
"There is nothing left for me here, you may be alive again..." She hesitated for second. "But Mystic Falls in not a home for me."
"And where is it there?" He asked as he finally released her.
"I don't know yet." Truly, she didn't.
"Stay." Jeremy pleaded.
"I'm sorry, I can't." Then she corrected herself. "I don't want to stay here, this place suffocates me and brings the worse in all of us, maybe you should come with me..."
"You know I can't do that."
"Then you'll have to let me go."
As if those words were the sign for Klaus to appear, he arrived in front of Grill. Bella refused to meet Jeremy anywhere else and she actually wanted to talk with Matt before leaving. So she did, she finally said to him all she needed to say years prior, her message was clear, if Matt wishes to stay human, real human, he needs to get away from Elena. Hugging Jeremy once again, she got in Klaus's car and two of them drove to airport.
Bonnie didn't lower the veil, Kol remained dead, but Jeremy was brought back to life thanks to Bonnie, but not without the price. Bonnie died, not that anyone besides Jeremy and Bella knew, she asked them too keep it a secret. Her cover story was getting from madness and travelling around world. Qetsiyah never came, but Silas was put off for good. From what Bella learned and what saddened her, is that Bonnie turned him to stone and Stefan later got rid if him, Bella didn't get information where...
"What are you thinking about?" Klaus asked.
"Many things." Klaus was driving with one hand on wheel while he was holding Bella's hand in other. "I wonder what your kid will look like, I already see little blondy running around."
"You're always free to visit." Klaus looked at her for second and then his eyes returned to the road.
"Oh, I will, can't wait for it actually." She smiled and then continued. "I want to be the first to know the gender and name... Hmm, I guess Esther, Elena, Katherine are out question for name of baby girl." Klaus cut her a look. "Isabella on the other hand..." She left the words hanging.
"Oh, you're so full of yourself... Why do you think it is girl, what if my child is a boy, what name do you suggest then?"
"Naming a boy Klaus or anything similar would be over the top, I'm thinking... Kol."
The drive to the airport passed quickly with them talking about Klaus's kid. They could talk about anything, but even though this two were more than comfortable with each other they mainly focused on easy subjects. Once they arrived, Klaus took their luggage and insisted on carrying her bag. Bella didn't pack many things, she'll buy new clothing or Katherine will for her, seeing as vampire was already waiting for her at Bella's destination.
"So this is it then?"
" I fear it is."
"Look..." Klaus started. "I want you to know that my doors are always opened for you and I hope that maybe in a decade or a century you remember me and appear at my doors, I'll be waiting."
"Klaus..."
"I had to say it, Love." He kissed her forehead. "You have everything?"
"I believe so. You're blood is packed and I'll send packages with mine every month. Once I decide to become vampire, I'll let you know."
"You don't have to send it, for as long as you give me a call from time to time... Speaking about calling me..." He pulled package for Bella from his bag. " I got you new phone, you have my number and Katherine's, I figured, you need fresh start." He handed it to her.
"Thank you." She kissed his cheek and went to open the package, but before she did, she pulled her old phone from a pocket and walked to trash bin where she threw it in. It wasn't only the phone she got rid off, she was finally getting rid of her life in Mystic Falls.
"I hadn't asked yet, where are you going, Love?"
"Atlanta." Review.
So who remembers what is in Atlanta? Hope you enjoyed this and please do leave a comment. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but slowly were getting towards the end. Both Vervain affection and I dare you are slowly getting towards grand finale and I think I'll take a break from this universe and ff. I'm working on my book and since school starts in about week, I won't have much time, but as I promised there will be Wes/ Bella story. I thought about it and all I have to do about it is write it down and figure a name for it. Any ideas?
Sorry for mistakes,
Wicked Daphne
