Ami: Aaaaand, we're back.
Keira: We missed you all! *glomps you all* OHMYRA THANK YOU FOR STILL READING THIS AND REVIEWING!
Yugi: Keira-chan, inside voice remember? *winces and rubs ear*
Keira: *covers mouth* Sorry! So how are all of you doing? I really hope you all enjoy reading this one, I always tend to get nervous with fluffy chapters...
Ami: FYI, better eat up all the fluff that you can. She's planning on pulling a Clannad for this story.
Yugi: ... Ami, I don't think everyone knows what that means...
Ami: Oh, right. Well, Clannad is a beautiful slice-of-life style anime that-
Keira: WILL KILL YOU WITH FEELS.
Yugi: ... Okay, well yeah. Now you all know, but don't worry! I have tissues ready for the future! ^-^
Keira: *glomps Yugi* I love you so much!
Yugi: Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen to me in the future?
Ami: *Sighs* So, Disclaimer... We ain't Japanese, so there's no way we own Yu-Gi-Oh! Please support the official release.
Keira: *looks up from glomping* Seriously? You just have to rub it in, don't you?! T.T WHY WASN'T I BORN IN JAPAN?!
Yugi: *pats head* There, there...

Text 14: The Resolution List
There was something seriously wrong with me. I was in a fitful sleep the whole night. I felt warm all over — and tingly. I've never felt like this before. Was I sick? I didn't feel sick... I actually felt good, but it was weird. So weird.
I ended up waking up early as if it were a school day because I just could not stay asleep for long. It felt like every time I would even remotely start to fall into a deeper sleep, flashes of that time would appear and jolt me awake again. I would be blushing heavily by the end of it, remembering how close Yami was to me...
I groaned into my pillow. What am I going to do?!
And here I had been rejoicing with everyone else about the fact that we would all get to sleep in 'til whenever today... Well that idea went down the drain didn't it? I forced myself up and out of my room, walking to the nearby bathroom.
I almost screamed at the image in the mirror. It was like I had stuck my finger in a light socket and my hair paid the price — it was unruly and sticking out (more than normal) in random directions. Had I really tossed and turned that much?
I groaned once more, and proceeded to mentally scream at myself while taking a shower to get rid of the weird and awkward night before.
. * . * .
Grandpa was already tending to the shop when I went downstairs, so I just decided to make myself comfortable in the kitchen.
I guess I could make some breakfast for me and Yami... Wait, what does he like to eat for breakfast? I don't think I've ever asked him... I could feel my eyebrows push themselves together as I thought hard on what to make. Maybe some eggs? Then again, not everyone likes eggs... Heck, I don't even really like eggs, hmm... I started going through the many cabinets we had — fortunately they were designed so that even the shortest of people (me and my Grandpa included in that) could reach them without the need of a step stool. Though we still kept one handy to reach other things. What? Us short people have to think ahead!
After looking through, my eyes settled on a yellow box of pancake mix. Pancakes? Sure. Who doesn't like pancakes? I actually really liked muffins better, but pancakes was a close second.
I wasn't the best at cooking, but I wasn't bad either. So the pancakes were a little lopsided and not-exactly-perfect, but they were edible. That's the only thing that matters, right?
Smiling once the cooking was done, I looked at the clock and saw it was just a little after nine o' clock. Should I go ahead and get Yami up? Well, wouldn't want the food to go to waste...
I made my way upstairs and all the way to the end of the long hall. I creeped into the guest room and giggled a little at the sight. Yami was sprawled across the small twin bed, the dark blue sheets were wrapped around his legs and waist like a type of cocoon while his back lay exposed. I blushed at that. Why did Yami have to be shirtless?
I smiled at the light snoring, his face was turned in my direction and I was surprised at the peaceful expression he wore... It almost made me not want to wake him up. Well, almost.
I quietly snuck closer to him so I could (very gently) poke one of his cheeks. I watched his nose scrunch up slightly before it returned to its peaceful bliss expression. I giggled again, trying to stay quiet. I looked around the room before finding something that made me grin like the Cheshire cat.
It was a feather from one of the down pillows, and now I could use it to my advantage for all evil purposes.
Tickling Yami awake. I suppressed a chuckle.
Leaning in dangerously close — so close that I could feel the ghost of his warm breath against my face — I lightly touched his face with the soft white feather. I saw his nose wiggle a little, and instantly targeted it, gliding the feather softly against the sensitive skin.
I received an instant reaction, which was Yami subconsciously leaning back hastily from the light touch. I bit my lip to hold in laughter, but couldn't contain the huge smile I could feel growing on my face.
I started sliding the feather teasingly around his cheek, gliding the soft feather over his high cheek bone and underneath his long eyelashes. Suddenly, there was movement, and in a split second I removed the feather and my hand away from his face just as his hand met the cheek I was tickling with a loud smack!
Then his crimson eyes opened and revealed their sleepy irritation. I couldn't hold back anymore, I started laughing like I'd never laughed before.
I was clutching my stomach as I grew hysterical in my laughs — the air not reaching my lungs properly as I kept going.
"Yugi."
His voice made me look back up at him — since I was currently kneeling on the floor. I noticed he was smiling, although there was clear irritation on his face. Plus, there was a large red hand print on the side of his face. Which just made me start laughing again.
He groaned, "Aibou..."
"Okay, okay, I'll stop." Though I spoke through giggles. He seemed to understand because he smiled fondly and shook his head.
After several minutes, I managed to calm down and talk normally. Man did my face hurt now...
"I hope you like pancakes, I made them for breakfast." I told him, remembering the probably cold-by-now food.
Yami started stretching, and my mouth suddenly felt dry. Did I mention that he was shirtless? And that he had biceps and other muscles lining his chest? Of course he wasn't ripped like Adonis, but he had enough that gave him that... manly look, I guess you could say? I chanced another look as he raised his arms above his head. Yep, definitely manly. I felt so petite compared to him.
"I'll be down in a minute," Yami said, getting up and heading out of the room to, I'm sure, the bathroom.
I slowly stood up too, fighting off the heat that was rising to my face. Why did my eyes linger on his form and watch him leave?
What in the name of Ra is going on with me?
I had to warm up our breakfast, and when it was done I saw Yami enter the kitchen wearing the previous nightwear I gave him. I managed to fight back the blush coming on. At least he didn't come in shirtless, I'm pretty sure I would of looked pathetic in front of him. And the last thing I wanted to be was weird with Yami.
Yami smiled at me as he took a seat at the bar, where I joined him. "I feel bad you had to make breakfast like this."
I shook my head, placing our plates in front of us. "I wanted to, so don't worry about it."
Did his smile seriously seem that charming before today? Because it looked that way now. "Thank you." And he started eating while I tried not to gawk.
I wasn't too sure I would be able to hold anything with the heavy beating of my heart...
It was a few hours after the breakfast event and we were settled on the too-comfy-for-its-own-good couch in the living room. We started watching a new shonen anime series that came on (since we liked the same genre of shows) and watched it in companionable silence when Yami suddenly face-palmed. I thought it had to do with a comical scene that it just showed, but his next words caught me by surprise.
"Aibou... It's almost June and we haven't started on our Resolution List!" he told me, and I immediately paled. Crap, I was really hoping he had forgotten about that...
I laughed lightly. "Oh yeah... What were they again?" I scratched my cheek a little, all I remembered were the fireworks that night...
He just blinked at me. Then sighed.
"We'll start with the easiest, and the one we'd better start now if we have any hope in completing it." This made me gulp, but I let him continue. He held up a slender finger, "Eat mostly junk food for half the year."
I felt my eyebrows pull together. "Really?"
He nodded.
"Yami... Do you know what that could do to our bodies? And how much that kind of food costs?" I really didn't feel like spending my hard-earned money on stuff like that...
He smiled in reassurance. "Don't worry about the cost, I can handle that. We don't have to gorge ourselves on it — and we can start exercising together to burn off the extra calories. You did say you wanted to learn martial arts, right?"
"Well, yeah, but—"
"Then we'll start on this resolution right away!" Before my brain could register what was happening, Yami was up and grabbed me by the hand and was now pulling me upstairs to change. Apparently, we were going to town.
I sighed because I couldn't even focus enough to stop him because I really liked the warmth around my hand he was holding.
There is something seriously messed-up with me.
. * . * .
So we were out walking around town after Yami demanded we get started on the resolutions. To say I was a bit preemptive to start on this was an understatement. But it was something we decided to do and fulfill together...
Which shouldn't be so bad, but it just made my whole situation worse. I just couldn't bring myself to tell him the truth and crush that smile on his face. He looked so much better with that natural smile.
We ran through the street together, stopping to buy up lots of snacks and junk food alike that we liked. Yami seemed to like coconut things, whereas I couldn't stand them. Likewise, he preferred spicy potato chips while I stuck with normal cheddar-flavored ones. We both agreed on all things chocolate though.
With two big grocery shopping bags later, we were now calmly walking through town. Light chatter accompanying our walk. It was so easy to be myself around Yami, I just hoped he found it that way too.
He suddenly stopped when he saw something past me and I turned completely around to see the pet store. There was a basket of kittens lazily basking in the sun from the store display, and I smiled at the adorable sight.
Yami abruptly grabbed my hand and I turned my head to see excitement in those crimson orbs. "Yugi, we can go ahead and knock another resolution out. Come with me!"
Resolution? Oh... 'Get a pet.' Now I remember...
I didn't have much say in the matter as he tugged me with him into the nicely air-conditioned pet store. An excited Yami was a force to be reckoned with.
We immediately went over to the litter of kittens that were all napping comfortably in the store display. There were four kittens total, and they all lay snuggled together in a comfy-looking blanket. One was all black, one looked like it was a calico-type, and the other two looked like they were twins! Both of them had white fur with a smoky gray coating their ears, tail, and face.
"Why, hello there and welcome!" An older lady greeted us with a smile, walking up to the front of the store where we were at. She noticed how Yami's attention was fixed on the basket of kittens and she smiled sweetly. "Those lazy nappers were donated to us just recently. They've had their shots and are at perfect health! All of them are siblings and are around nine weeks old."
Yami seemed to take on a glow at this and I was taken aback. I didn't know Yami was a cat person! Of course, I wouldn't really factor on any side since I was never allowed to have a pet growing up...
"I'll take one." Yami said, surprising me and making the lady giddy.
"Excellent! Which one has caught your eye? Each of them have their own personalities, but all of them are well-behaved and learn to obey really well. They're of the Egyptian Mau breed, very exotic." The woman seemed to be ecstatic, gushing on and on about the kittens and the breed. She then proceeded to stir them awake so we could get a better look at them.
The first one to awaken was the black one, and it had a brilliant golden yellow color of eyes. The calico was second and held darker yellow eyes. Then came the twins, and those two completely entranced me. One had light blue eyes with silver specs in them, and the other had dark blue with golden specs... I noticed the one with the light blue eyes was the smallest kitten out of the bunch, and stayed cuddled against its bigger twin. It was slightly endearing.
As we approached closer, the kittens heads' popped curiously to gaze at us, and instantly my eyes met the stare of the smallest one. I let out a tiny smile, and likewise it seemed to beam up at me, even letting out a soft meow that was completely cute and directed at me.
I started reaching closer as I dimly heard the woman saying that they have natural singing-like voices that they love to use, and I found it so interesting. The kitten walked away from its siblings so I could pick it up easier, and it was so light in my hands. I brought it to my chest, and it instantly snuggled there and started purring. The soft vibrations were really relaxing me, I had no idea cats could have this affect on people!
Yami was playing with the other kittens, but I saw him keep glancing at me with a smile on his face. I didn't care, I was smiling down at the small kitten in my arms as it stared up at me in adoration.
I kept petting its head, noting how soft and silky the fur was. I was happy to scratch its ears and underneath its chin — where apparently it was itchy at.
"All of them are boys except for the calico kitten," The woman told us, looking at the basket where Yami was playing with the rambunctious kittens. The woman smiled at me and directed her attention toward the one I was holding, "That one there is a boy, too."
I looked down at the little one in my arms, smile ever-present. He felt so warm. I've never had to care or hold something like this because I was never allowed growing up. If mom caught just a whiff then she would become even sicker than what she was, so I always stayed far away from any type of animal. This was my first time holding a cat; I always admired their elegance and looks, but this little guy just seemed so small and fragile in my arms.
I really didn't want to let him go.
"So how much for one of these?" Yami started talking with the woman as I stayed there petting the purring kitten in my arms. I was lost to the conversation they were having as I kissed the top of the little guy's furry head. I noticed he wasn't completely pure white, he had a slight smoky gray tint to his fur, along with three faded stripes going across the crown of his head. His face was angled and sharp — making him seem exotic and elegant. His body was long and slender with long legs and a long tail that held smoky gray stripes. Even his small little nose had a smoky gray tint!
"Hey there, little guy..." I spoke softly, continuing to smile down at it as it kept its gaze locked with mine. It seemed so intelligent...
It let out a very soft meow, like a whisper and I leaned in closer. He suddenly reached up and sniffed my nose before rubbing against it with his own.
And it was at that moment, that I knew...
...That I was completely in love with this kitten.
"Yugi?" I heard Yami call me, and I stopped snuggling the kitten to look up at him.
"Yes?" I asked, noticing how his cheeks seemed a little red... Wait, why would he be blushing?
He just stood there staring, wide-eyed, before he finally cleared his throat and motioned to the aisles of pet care behind him. "I was wondering if you wanted to help me pick out things for your kitten there."
I blinked.
Then blinked again.
"What?" I asked brilliantly, causing Yami's sharp face to break out into a smile.
"I went ahead and purchased the kitten for you, as you seem to be completely smitten by it." I blushed at this, and the kitten nosed itself into my neck at the warmth. "Have you picked out a name for him, yet?" Yami asked, coming closer to rub the kitten's soft ear, to which it meowed in delight. I swear this little guy is more adorable than Ryou's bunny, Poppy. Sorry Poppy.
I scrunched up my face a bit. "Well I've never had a pet before so I wouldn't know..."
Yami's eyes widened a bit. "This is your first pet?"
I nodded sheepishly. "Yeah, it is. Mom was always allergic to them growing up, so I never had one."
He ran a hand through his striking hair. "You can name him whatever you want, he is yours after all. Just name him whatever seems to come to mind and fits." Yami smiled encouragingly at me, and I looked down at the snuggling kitten in my arms.
What... fit? Should I be really dynamic and name him something that means something special or after a person maybe? The more I gazed at the kitten and all of its elegance, the first name that pieced together in my head was one I didn't really understand, yet seemed to fit the face before me.
"Miku." I pronounced it out loud, and the kitten's eyes seemed to grow brighter at it. "Miku!" I said with glee, now grinning as the kitten rubbed itself against my face. I giggled as it did, and I saw Yami smile.
"Miku it is, then. It's a perfect name, Aibou."
My heart stilled before beating faster at that, "Thanks, Yami."
So Yami helped me pick out all of the necessary things to supply for Miku, given he's owned a few cats before. We even worked out the whole resolution thing — since he technically bought the pet, and I was keeping it (with him helping me to take care of it) we both could cross out Get a pet off our resolution list. It was really exhilarating to do so. I felt amazingly accomplished.
And with the snuggling kitten in my arms, I have to say I'm completely warm and happy with this choice. Convincing Grandpa to keep the little guy was easier than expected, given that Grandpa very much loved animals — especially cats of exotic breed. Yami stayed over for a while longer, staying to have dinner with us while playing with Miku a bit before he had to go.
"So you're staying at Kaiba's mansion in town?" I asked him curiously, watching as he got all of his stuff together.
"Yes, I'll be staying there for the summer since I know coming to Renka troubles you." He spoke, casting me a glance as he put on his boots.
I silently gasped. How did he know that...?
"Anyway, you're welcome to come by any time you like. Mokuba misses you," Yami told me and I quickly shut my gaping mouth when he turned around to face me.
"Okay, I will. I'm sure the gang would love to hang out together there — you know, since Kaiba has a pool and all." And gaming room, theatre room, amazing kitchen with everything in it you could ever want...
Yami smiled at me, "Well, I'm looking forward to it. I'll text you later tonight." He nodded his head and stood up, gazing at Miku who appeared beside me. "Bye now, Miku."
"Be careful," I told him, waving him off with a smile as I watched him climb into his car.
There was one troubling thought that came to mind as I watched him drive off into the twilight sky.
What exactly does he know about me?
. * . * .
I sighed heavily, my mind frazzled as I kept staring at my phone screen. Because of school, we weren't able to go online when it was our fifth anniversary for Millennium.
Now in early June, we were here for a whole day of game play — plus the usual craziness of the site in general — to make up for it. Everyone was on. We had the whole gang here — it would be complete if Kaiba would just swallow his pride and join in on the fun...
Within the Millennium World, all of our characters were in Battle City stocking up on whatever we needed. A.I's (Artificial Intelligence) walked around in the set order I programmed them to. It was a sunny day, and my character was standing at the designated meeting spot. The sun reflected off of the purple armor while I went through my stats and items, checking to make sure everything was up to par. We were getting ready to head out to the newly opened land — Cyber Illusion to explore and hopefully find our next Shadow Boss.
I was getting a little aggravated because most of the players were running around the city doing Ra knows what to my game.
"How much longer will all of you be? I've been waiting for thirty minutes." I said, seriously, how long does it take to buy what you need?
"Yugi, you made this map too big!" Malik complained, he must have been lost — again...
"Don't worry, Malik-pretty! I'll come find you~" And that was psychotic Marik to his rescue, I shivered a bit. We were all talking on our headsets.
"Sis, you're takin' too long in tha market!" I heard Joey say, followed by a protective Tristan.
"Lay off, at least she's thinking of everyone and buying what we need in case something happens!"
"And who asked you?!" Then there were growls and the clashing of weapons, great...
"Please stop fighting!" Serenity spoke out, and I'm just guessing that she ran out to stop the two from getting damaged.
"Guys, save it for the monsters." Anzu told them, and I caught a glimpse of her fairy wings as she flew above.
"She's right. If you take damage now, we'll just have to wait longer for you to recuperate and Yugi is ready to embark." Yami's baritone voice sounded commanding, and I could tell it had an effect on everyone...
...Minus Bakura.
"Ha! Just let them fight it out, Pharaoh. It'll make for a good show." The Thief King started chuckling then, and I heard Ryou sigh.
"No, Bakura. We need to go and meet Yugi at the portal." I will always be so thankful for Ryou's help in this...
After lots of grumblings and shouting, everyone finally made it over to the portal I was standing at.
"Let's go kick some monsters around!" Joey said as we all went through the swirling portal at the end of the road.
We walked through the entry gate of the newly unlocked world and took in the digital-styled environment. It was designed to look as if we were inside a computer, so even our characters were warped a bit to match the scenery.
"Whoa... This is really cool, Yugi!" Anzu beamed, and I was just smiling as I looked at all of it. I remember making this a long time ago, and fell in love with the cyber texture.
"Thanks. The Shadow Monsters here will be different from the rest, so be on guard." I told them, and we started progressing forward on the path that lit up in front of us.
As a large group, we progressed and found hidden treasures until the path divided into two separate roads.
"What should we do, Yugi?" Anzu was the one to ask and I quickly made a plan.
"We'll need to split up into two groups," I said, piecing together each person and their talent to find a balance for the two separate groups. "Group one is Serenity, Tristan, Joey, Ryou, and Bakura. Group two will be Anzu,Yami, Malik, Marik, and me." I shuddered a bit at having the maniacal Egyptian duo in the same group with me, but we would all just have to endure it since it was for the best. Malik was the quickest, and has the special ability of teleporting to any ally members — so he would be able to help the other team fast if they need it. Marik was destructive, and tends to get out of control, but Malik seems to be the only one able to calm him. (Hence, why I need to keep them together) Anzu and Serenity are our healers, so one for each team. Same with me and Ryou, we're both more magic-driven, and then the two battle-hard warriors are Joey and Tristan. (Though I decided to keep them together for a team as they can execute combos and raise the defense of the team if need be). I kept Yami with me since I could combine my magic with his dominating power when on the field — same thing works with Ryou and Bakura (although Bakura sticks very close to Ryou to protect him anyways, so there's no separating them).
After more talk, each group departed down their designated path. I wasn't too sure what to expect, or if these paths would loop back together again (as I originally designed this map to be randomly generated).
"Ah, this is so boring." Marik drawled out sometime later after wandering and only finding a small group of lower-class monsters.
"You said it." Malik piped in, sounding equally unamused.
Yami sighed. "You need to stay on alert and keep your eyes peeled. What if the Shadow Boss were to show up suddenly?"
I nodded, then I realized they couldn't see. "Yami's right, there's definitely a Shadow Boss somewhere in this stage."
"Then he should hurry up and show himself, I'm tired of waiting!" Marik was starting to sound irritated, and I could only groan.
"Anzu, Serenity, have you two found anything?" I asked the two lookouts as I could hear Malik consoling Marik gently.
"There's nothing over here, it's just a wasteland." Serenity answered and then I noticed Anzu flying higher above.
"There's a building up ahead..." Anzu stated as we started to make out a large metal building in the distance.
We sent Malik to run a perimeter around the building, finding it safe outside at least.
"What if it's a trap?" Joey was the one to question as we debated on going in. It resembled a warehouse, and gave off the aura that screamed 'booby-trapped!'
I sighed. "We have to go in, it's the only lead we have for now. We'll be careful." I reassured as our group of five went in.
Inside, it was a large open space with a small walking platform above that led to the roof. But that wasn't what held my attention for long as the building was swarming with monsters. High-level ones.
Suddenly, behind us the large double doors we entered slammed shut and vaporized into small number digits. Sealing us in here — great.
"Well, looks like it was a trap." Yami spoke up, his character glowing crimson as it charged power.
"Anzu, look for a way to get us out of here, the rest of us will watch your back and take care of the monsters." I said, noting the upper floor walkway that had an escape route leading to the roof — only there wasn't any stairs or a ladder leading to this walkway, meaning we would have to make one.
As Anzu flew off, Yami got closer to me just as Marik and Malik combined their destructive (and often hazardous) abilities together to take on the monsters. I started casting different spells that would enhance Yami's fighting prowess while also casting those to shield everyone else from the effects of the monsters.
Just as the swarm of monsters were starting to thin out, Anzu was done making a makeshift bridge leading to the higher platform.
"Okay, it's ready guys!" Anzu alerted everyone and we hastily made our way through the throng of monsters.
"Go ahead, we'll take care of the rest of these baddies, right Mar?" That was Malik, and I saw that him and Marik were still in the middle of the building — effortlessly and almost gracefully moving around and with each other as they combined attacks for combos to destroy more monsters. There was only a small horde of them left.
All I heard was a grunt from Marik, and took that as an incentive to continue on ahead.
"Just come up to the roof as soon as you're done. Anzu, can you stay behind and make sure they're okay?" I asked, noting that their characters would get tired soon from all of the action and magic being used up.
"I can."
"Why the bloody hell do you all get all the action?" Bakura grumbled, and I almost forgot about the other group as they stayed quiet during the attack (I guess so we could concentrate).
"Aw, does Kitty wanna play?" Came Marik's teasing, and we all heard Bakura's growl.
"Marik, for the love of Ra, stop with the damn nicknames!"
"'Kura, it's awfully disrespectful to curse in front of a young lady." Ryou, the polite gentleman that he is, spoke up before Anzu could go on another rant to save the youngest member's purity.
"Ryou, although I'm grateful for your kindness, you all really don't have to treat me like a little kid... I'm fine with whatever you have to say, so don't hold back." Serenity said, getting irritated from the sound of it.
"Really? Okay then, well I would love to pin my Malik-pretty down and ravish—"
"MARIK!" Came the shouts of multiple members, to which only caused Marik to chuckle psychotically. And just what did Malik see in this guy?
"You're sick!" Joey yelled, sounding mortified.
"Yes, yes he is." Malik said, although he sounded more pleased by this fact, which caused an appreciative humming to sound from the psycho.
"Gah," Bakura made a gagging sound, and I heard Yami mutter, "And we have to live with this guy."
"Looks like there's monsters up here, too." I said as soon as me and Yami managed to climb up to the roof.
"We'll be there in a sec!" Malik replied, and I could faintly here the sounds of battle below from the two platinum blondes.
Yami and I started fighting the monsters, we started to clear the large roof space when I noticed that we could almost see the entire map area from up here. Huh, I remember making a sort of lookout building for this stage, but I didn't know I set it to appear randomly...
"Looks like this is the perfect place to be — I can make out at least half of the layout of the map from here." I saw that there seemed to be a type of jungle in the short distance away from here, followed by a small desert area and large oasis area. I designed Cyber Illusion to have multiple landmarks that follow each other in an unpredictable manner — I'm sure there was an icy land just above the desert. This was the largest stage I made because I got carried away when designing the map after I learned how to create climate changes. The only thing is, is after a certain amount of time everything will change and switch around.
Suddenly, there was a deep trembling before harsh jerking caused me to stumble over the edge of the roof guard.
"Yugi!" Yami shouted, and before I could do anything about my suddenly airborne character, Yami was right there after me as I fell.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion, and I knew I should be hitting the ground any second, which would result in my death. The crimson armor Yami's character wore suddenly gleamed before shining brightly. Then, two large flaming wings sprouted from around Yami. They moved as if they were alive and reminded me of a phoenix, only they shown multiple dazzling lights and colors. Completely awestruck, I let my character flail about as I took in the scene.
Yami gained enough speed to grab me and when he did, he pulled me up with him as he rose back up effortlessly as the wings pushed us upwards. Once back on the roof, the flaring wings reached out and completely engulfed the roof — destroying all of the leftover monsters in an array of color. The wings disappeared after that, and the glow faded from Yami's character.
"What the frig just happened up there?!" Malik shouted instantly, but he was ignored for now.
"What... was that?" Yami sounded completely shocked, and I grinned instantly.
"I think you just did your character's limit break!"
"Limit break?" Ryou sounded interested, just like me since he helped me come up with the concept a few years ago. We thought it would be much later before anyone discovered it, though, as it was a high level move.
"What's that, Yug'?" Joey asked, curious.
"It's a character's greatest ability — where your current power is combined and enhanced to bring out your character's full potential. The power that comes out is completely random," I explained, and there was a collective assortment of reactions from everyone but I just talked directly to Yami. "So what happened exactly? How did you trigger it?" Even though I designed it, I had never seen that type of limit break before. It was awesome!
"Well I remember rushing to save you, and my character was all out of energy to keep going on but I just kept pressing buttons hoping to do something when everything shined and my character started acting on its own. There was a box that appeared saying Pharaoh's Ruling character limit." Yami explained, and I wasn't the only one interested in this.
"Man, that sounds awesome!" Tristan said.
"So the roof's clear now?" Anzu asked, and when I told her it was, we were joined by the rest of our group.
"Why the frig is there a frozen tundra right beside a desert?" Malik instantly noticed the view, and so I started explaining the map to everyone listening.
We had to stay on the roof for a while so Yami could recuperate, and by that time I realized that when I felt the deep rumbling and jerking from before was the randomized map changing. So it wasn't long before the others found the building we were at and climbed on the roof with us.
We decided to save and end it there since everyone was getting sleepy, but not before having a mini celebration of our five years of the site. It was nice, and I could honestly say it was the best year given we have three new members who have integrated into our lives so well... As if they were always suppose to be apart of our little gang.
A musical meow voiced its delight on the sunny day. Miku was perched on my shoulder as I walked down the sidewalk.
"Ya know, I'm not much of a cat person... But Miku's really cute." Joey commented from beside me, petting Miku under his small chin — just where he likes it.
I smiled as the kitten continued to meow in delight at the attention. "Do you think everyone else will like him, too? He is going with us on the trip after all..." I decided to take Miku with me since I didn't want to leave Grandpa with extra stuff to do, and plus I just really wanted the little guy with me. I'm already attached to him...
Joey grinned down at me. "Of course they will! Who wouldn't?"
I was about to nod, but then grew thoughtful. "Hmm... Kaiba, maybe? Oh, and I wanted to ask you about him."
Joey immediately froze up and scooted away with a yelp. "Wh-What do ya wanna know?"
I turned to him with a slight frown. Why was he acting so weird? "Well, you two seem a lot closer is all, so I was just wondering how everything is going."
Joey pulled at his collar nervously. "Everythin's good..." he stated while fidgeting and sweating.
I raised a brow in suspicion. "Joey. Tell me what happened." I knew he was hiding something, and knew he would continue to act like this until he got it off his chest.
He sighed then. "He started acting different after graduation." We both stopped walking by now, we were alone on the sidewalk so I urged him to continue. "Before we would text each other, and it wasn't anythin' special, we would just ask each other how everythin's goin'. But after a while I noticed how I seemed to meet up with him in the... oddest of places." Joey was scratching his unruly blond hair at that.
This piqued my interest and I tilted my head. "You and Kaiba would meet each other?" How long has this been going on?
Joey grew flustered and started floundering excuses like a fish out of water. "He would come out and meet me, Yug', I swear! I would just be mindin' my own business like buyin' groceries and suddenly he was there and payin' for it!"
Both my eyebrows raised at this as I'm sure I had an incredulous look on my face. "He's been buying stuff for you?"
Joey waved his hands about as his face grew red. "I didn't ask him to! He just does it, and when I go to tell'em off he just smirks that stupid smirk of his and changes the subject!" Joey then looked down, face still red. "I don't know, Yug'... It's like he's everywhere now. I can't get him outta my head; he's even been tryin' to meddle in my home life."
If I was shocked before, I was shocked even more now. "But that's..." I trailed off, at a loss for words. I knew more about Joey's home situation more than anyone, even Serenity. 'Daddy issues' was an understatement concerning Joey and his father's relationship. Joey was the most eager out of all of us to reach adulthood so he could escape from that house.
What troubled me even more was the fact that Seto Kaiba — the icy CEO over Kaiba Corp, the one to claim having no 'friends' or even showing a caring side unless it was to his little brother — was trying to get into Joey's personal life. It wasn't something to be gained by doing this, so what was Kaiba's true goal?
"When I asked him why he was helpin' me out so much he told me it was, 'Because he can, and that I shouldn't put up with garbage like that.' Ever since, he's been tryin' to make my life better and I... I'm so confused because I don't understand. Does he actually like me? Or is he just playin' with me?" I saw Joey's fists tighten until his knuckles shown white.
I stopped at this. Joey really cared about Kaiba, but he didn't know Kaiba's true feeling on the matter because of the type of person Kaiba is.
I reached out to hold Joey's tight fist. "Well you'll never know if you don't straight out ask him. We have a week for this vacation, so try to ask him then. I support you in this, so you're not alone Joey." I smiled at him, and I could see he was trying not to tear up.
"Thanks, Yug'. You're the best pal!" And then he proceeded to mess up my hair like he always does — especially when trying to cover up his own embarrassment.
It wasn't long before we made it to Kaiba Mansion. There were two vans parked in the front, which would be the vehicles we would take for the trip. During the Millennium World gameplay, we discussed the seating arrangement. In one van would be: Me, Yami, Anzu, Joey, Seto, and Serenity (because big brother Joey was not about to let his baby sister ride with a bunch of hooligans — his words, not mine). While the other van would have: Tristan, Malik, Ryou, Marik, and Bakura (Bless Tristan's soul, since he's the driver). Keira and Ami had left the other day to make sure the place was ready for our arrival.
"Yo!" Joey immediately greeted when we walked through the large entrance of the CEO's home.
"Hey, guys!" Malik was the first to greet us, waving from where he was standing with Ryou. His light purple eyes instantly locked on the kitten hanging on my shoulder and they widened.
"Hey," I greeted them with a smile before letting go of my bag to hold the kitten in my arms that was staring at the new surroundings in curiosity. "Meet Miku!"
There was a sudden hyperactive shriek, and next thing I know Miku is ripped from my arms and there's a flash of pale blond hair zipping past me.
With wide eyes I turn to see my Egyptian best friend cuddling the equally surprised kitten.
"Um...?" I tried to say, but was at a loss for words as Malik started mumbling "So friggin cute!" and other things, completely oblivious to the world... I turned to Ryou, who just wore an amused look as he shook his head at the fanboying side of Malik.
"Malik really likes cats." Ryou stated when he saw my questioning look, and I shook my head with a fond smile of my own. Well, we all know Malik's soft spot now...
"Malik-pretty~!" The sudden voice of our local Psycho caused us to wince, and then Marik was suddenly bounding through the entry way and toward Malik.
I blinked as Marik stopped just a few feet away from Malik, seeming to be dazed at the sight of the tanned Egyptian cuddling a kitten in his arms. Well, if Marik is here then that means...
"Ryou!"
And yep, the other psycho follows. I wonder if Yami came with them? I really hope so since it seems Joey escaped to Ra knows where as soon as the kitten cuddling fiasco happened.
During my musings, I didn't notice that Yami had already walked in and now had his hands on my shoulders.
"Yugi?"
I looked up as soon as he spoke, gazing into his crimson eyes — seriously, that color of eyes should be a lot more freaky and intimidating but they were just... alluring. And doing their job pretty darn well.
"Hey, Yami." I smiled at him, and he returned it.
His hands felt like they were burning right through my shirt, and I was suddenly glad that I hadn't worn the tank top I was thinking of wearing. I don't think my heart could handle skin-to-skin contact as it was currently doing cart wheels in my chest.
"I see Miku is fitting in well already," Yami noticed, as now a very happy Marik was hugging both the kitten and Malik with a large grin — which still looked psychotic.
"Yeah, I'm actually getting really excited for this trip now." I said, grinning up at him as he blinked before chuckling. I just looked at him questioningly, and he stopped to explain, his red eyes amazingly bright.
"I apologize, you just looked incredibly cute then!" He let out as he started laughing happily again, and I immediately flushed the usual ten shades of red. Did he just really call me cute?!
I was too stunned to even speak, and Yami's attention was directed to the entrance as more people walked in.
Tristan walked in with Serenity and Anzu trailing behind him. They must have already put their luggage in the vans because the girls just walked in with their purses.
"Sorry we're late," Anzu said as soon as they entered, seeing how everyone else was here. I then noticed Seto and Joey come down from the second floor looking slightly flushed. Huh, I wonder what happened there?
I managed to grab Miku away from the fawning Malik, and Ryou realized something then and I watched as he reached into a small cage he was carrying. To my utter delight and surprise, I realized it was Poppy.
"You brought him, too?" I questioned, and Ryou smiled and nodded at me.
"There wasn't anyone I could leave him with, so Keira said it was fine to bring him with me. I guess Miku will have a furry companion on the trip." And with that, we let the two small animals down so they could interact with each other.
They both seemed cautious, but Miku's terrible curiosity won over him and he approached the sniffing rabbit. They both sniffed each other thoroughly before Miku rubbed himself against the cotton ball of fluff.
There was a high-pitched squeal, and then a bright flash. With shock I realized it was Malik, and he seemed to be all giddy as he filmed the two animals. Suddenly, he was in my face with a pleading expression.
"Can Miku ride with us, Yugi? Pleeeease? I have to document this cuteness for Keira-chan!" He was pretty much bouncing in place, and so to calm him I agreed to let Miku ride with them for half the trip.
Although I was a little nervous about letting Miku away from me, I trusted my friends to watch him. Plus, it seemed the Psychos didn't have a problem with it oddly enough, though Bakura seemed wary of Poppy for some reason...
We all started getting our luggage settled in the vans for the trip — Yami and I shared our multitude of snacks with everyone since we had went overboard on shopping.
"Yugi," Ryou's voice made me look back at him and I took note of the gym bag he was leaning over. "I brought plenty of sunscreen for the trip." He opened the bag and I saw it was filled with all things ever made to protect one from the harsh sun rays.
I could feel a sweat-drop coming. "Uh, don't you think you went overboard there, Ryou? It's good you planned ahead though," I winced at the memory and feeling of being burned all summer. "Hopefully we won't have a repeat of our last trip."
Ryou's large brown eyes narrowed. "That's why I'm determined this time. We. Will. Not. Get. Sunburned." Ryou said with assertiveness, that honestly had me taken aback. It wasn't often one saw this side of Ryou.
I just smiled and nodded. "Yeah, we'll beat the sun this time!"
"What are you two talking about?" Malik asked in a nosy manner, coming up behind Ryou before looking down at the bag of sunscreen. "Oh hey, you got my favorite sun tanning lotion! Thanks, Ry!"
"Well we'd better get going," I told them, and I felt an eager smile warp my face.
Ryou mirrored my smile, and he then walked over to the van beside ours. "See you all in a few hours." Ryou said to us before climbing into the running van.
"Remember to stay in touch!" Malik waved as if we were never going to see each other again before he winked and climbed in after Ryou.
I just shook my head and climbed into my own van. It was time for the road trip, and the beginning of our summer vacation!
And now presenting the extras of TFAS! These will be either extra scenes, or funny blooper stuff that I'll include at the end of a Text. I hope you enjoy'em! =D
{Blooper 01} /During the MW game/
"Hey, hey, Bakura."
Bakura ignores him, hoping he'll go away.
"Aw, c'mon Mr. Grumpy Pants, pay attention to me!"
He was scowling so hard at the annoying guy that he REALLY just wanted to turn around and slash the character's head off — but then he would get scolded by Ryou. And being scolded by Ryou was like sitting at an after school detention while the most hated teacher in existence made you sit there for hours writing stupid sentences over and over WHILE said hated teacher lectured you about every little aspect that one sentence had to offer. Pure torture, and not even the physical kind!
"Ryou, I think the fluffy kitty is PMSing." And there was that petulant tone again... Honestly, why couldn't the crazy boy just leave him alone?!
Suddenly, the screen went black for Bakura. "What...?" Did I break the game? On one hand he would no longer have to deal with that loud-mouthed brat, but on the other that would leave Ryou alone to fend for himself! And the Thief King could not have that.
"Uh-oh..." Malik's irritating voice reached him, and then Bakura's black screen went away and he was back in the game. Or at least... he thought he was.
"What the hell did you do?!" Because this was NOT where he was supposed to be. He found his character dangling from a thin tree branch over a pit of fire and hell.
"Yugi! I found another bug!"
"You broke the game again? Seriously, Malik?" Yugi sounded exasperated, but Bakura didn't bloody care.
"Where the f*ck am I?!" He all but screeched, in all honesty sounding like a dying banshee.
"Bakura! Language." Anzu reprimanded, still keen on keeping the youngest member of the party (Serenity) pure.
"Do you really think Baku-Baku cares?" Marik drawled in a bored tone, and Bakura REALLY wanted to march into his insane cousin's room and smack him across the face.
"Ah-ha! I got it!" Suddenly, there was a new weight on the small thin tree branch currently supporting Bakura's character from impending doom. "What's up, scaredy cat? I'm here to save you!"
"Would you bloody hell stop talking and warp me away from this Ra-forsaken place?!"
"Is that any way to talk to your savior? Come on, I want to hear some sweet talking."
"You're the whole reason I'm in this position!" Honestly, Bakura would like nothing more than to hop on the nearest train to Domino and—
There was a sudden snapping sound under him and he realized in horror that the branch could no longer support their weight.
"Bummer, well, see ya!" And suddenly Malik's character was gone — like freaking lightning!
"MALIIIIK!" Could be heard as Bakura's character was engulfed and burned alive in the hellish fires below, accompanied with the sound of keening maniacal laughter in the background.
[Extra 01] /Bakura's first time meeting Poppy/
"So this is where you live, Ryou? It's... nice." Bakura said after he got a good look at the place. There was more than enough space for one teenage boy to live here. It would be a great place to have a party! Of course, Bakura was still feeling peeved after learning that the smaller whitenette lived alone — his friends coming over frequently to stay with him be damned! This still wasn't a suitable home for Ryou, he shouldn't have to live by himself!
"Thank you," Ryou spoke politely, then sighed when he realized the mood Bakura was suddenly in. "I'll go prepare some drinks, you can sit on the couch if you like. Remote is on the coffee table." And with that, Ryou walked on to the kitchen.
Bakura grumbled something unintelligible and sat on the couch. He reached for the remote without looking and his hand suddenly met with something... soft and fluffy? He turned his head to gaze at whatever he was touching and beady red eyes stared directly into his eyes — into his soul.
Five seconds of just staring passed before the pale bunny started sniffing at the hand still on him. Bakura instantly shrieked (no, not a girly one you fools, it was manly!) and jumped away so fast that he toppled over the back of the couch.
The loud thud alerted the younger teen and Ryou appeared in the living room. "Bakura...?"
"Ah! Get it away from me!" Bakura was in a panic to get away from the bunny currently hopping after him.
Ryou caught Poppy and held the little guy in his arms as he turned to the panting Bakura.
"Why the hell do you have a rodent in your house, Ryou?!" Bakura menacingly pointed at the cute little bunny that just kept staring at him with those beady little eyes.
"Hmm? Oh, this is Poppy, he's my pet bunny. Malik and Yugi bought him for me on my birthday." Ryou answered, smiling down at his small companion, who just snuggled deeper into Ryou's chest contently.
Bakura just growled at the thing, and Ryou noticed this instantly.
The paler boy tilted his head to the side in obvious confusion. "What is it, Bakura? Do you not like him?"
Too cute, too cute... Bakura was trying his hardest to not let out a visible blush, all that was ruined though when Ryou held out the bunny for him to take.
The Thief King immediately rebuked and jumped away, and Ryou just giggled and started chasing after him.
"C'mon, 'Kura. Poppy wants a hug from you!" Ryou laughed out loud, feeling happier at the moment than he has in a long time.
"Damn it! Stop, Ryou!" Bakura yelled, running away from the smaller boy and his devil bunny.
It became known then, especially to Ryou, that Bakura disliked cute things. Only because he was such a sucker for them.
. * . * .
Keira: Pfft... Hahahaha *holds stomach* I thought about doing extra funny scenes, so I'll just put'em at the end of each Text.
Yugi: Let us know if you have a prompt for the TFAS universe.
Keira: Also, what's funny is after loving the name Miku and using it for the kitten's name, I looked it up after sheer curiosity and found out it was a Japanese girl's name. XD Sorry kitty... You are very pretty for a boy kitty anyways, it's actually what happened with my first cat. Everyone thought he was a girl because he was so feminine and pretty-looking. (And later Ami pointed out that Miku was the name of a Vocaloid *crap-in-a-bucket*)
Ami: Let us know if you guys really enjoy the action Rp Millennium World stuff and we'll put more action in future Texts. If not, well we may still do a little bit here and there since it has a lot to do with Yugi's future.
Keira: Hint, hint *winks*
Ami: Stop winking at them!
Yugi: Oh Ra, not this again... Well, hope you all enjoyed reading! Be expecting a crazy road trip and other fun stuff next Text.
Keira: *stops fighting with her yami* Yeah, remember to review and tell me what you all think! But more importantly...
We hope you all have a happy summer! =D
