She saw Marcel walking into the room, his cocky attitude surrounding him, making the room hard to even be in. She knew Marcel would love the dress she wore, and would do anything to make it work. She had invited him an hour before to talk about his offer. She told him to meet her in Pete's, the closest bar to her dorm. It was the safest and the most sociable in case something went wrong. She was planning on accepting, but she was still nervous. She didn't know if she was doing the right thing. She knew Klaus was beyond angry with this, but they had come to an agreement about it. She would do this, but he would quietly watch. She knew he was pissed about this. He made it clear hours when they had the conversation back at the university.
She thought about their conversation hours before their fight, how she was telling him he could change. And she believed he could, he just needed a little push in the right direction. It thrilled her that he was finally willing to change his ways. She just hoped he didn't changed completely.
As Marcel neared, she gathered her courage and told him to seat down. It was no or never.
"I broke up with Klaus" she said painfully. It's necessary, she reminded herself.
"Oh" his eyebrows shot in surprise and then his mouth changed into a smirk she wanted to roll her eyes at.
"Yep. I thought about what you said and realized that I do need someone better" I'm going to puke. No, just say it. Come on! "I want to be with you" She barely said. Yep, I'm going to cry. Or maybe Klaus will considering his posture. His shoulders were tense and low, as if trying to hold himself together. Not the only one.
It didn't helped that there was a victorious smile in Marcel's face that just proved her theory.
"But we have to take it slow. I only told you so you didn't… worry" That was probably the lamest excuse ever. Miraculously, it worked!
"Then I'll you later" he said and turned around to leave, making her release an enormous breath she didn't even knew she was holding. She grabbed her phone and went back to the dorms, making sure she was being followed.
He's fell for it, she send before putting her phone back.
1 hour and 30 minutes before….
"Absolutely no!
"But Klaus! If he believes he took the thing you love the most, and I seriously hope that's me, then he will be weak for you to defeat him!" She said
She had been thinking about this plan for a while, and was prepared for any battle Klaus might throw her way.
"I don't want you to get hurt! If he finds out you lied to him because of me, then he'll use you to get to me. You could get hurt, or even worse! I don't know what I would do without you" He took her in an embraze. She could feel his worry, and understood it, but she had to do this. The best way to fool him would be through his weak link. Her.
When he let her go, she saw his eyes full of concern and love. She didn't wanted him to worry, and at the end of the day, she would always come back to him. She tells him this.
"But what if I lose you. Marcel has taken too much from me already. I can't let him take you too. I won't" She knew this bothered him. The idea of Marcel trying to deceive her into believing the monster he claimed he was.
"That won't happen and you know why? Because I have already seen you at your worse. You did terrible things at Mystic Falls and I still believed in you. Nothing anyone tells me will keep me from loving you. No one" She was sure of this. She knew the things he had done, and while it took her a while to not hate him for it- to get over it- she was sure that the only one that could keep her from being with Klaus was him. He was then only one capable of braking her heart.
