Lexi

June 23

Wolf mother, I bowed down respectfully and she flashed her sharp wolf teeth at me.

"Hello little one," she said gently. Her voice was smoother than usual, like that of a kind mother.

"Is this, is this a dream?" I stutter.

"Yes, child,"

"Well, what's happening to me. Why did that wolf bite me, and why is my body reacting the way it is?"

"You have been chosen to be a Divine Host," she says. I walk along with her as she continued to explain. "Every century 7

divines are born. A phoenix, a dragon, a horse-wolf an eagle-horse, a wolf-eagle, a pegasus, and a falcon. These divines select their masters, and when they do they bind themselves to you forever,"

I gave her a confused look. "Wait, wait, wait. What in Pluto is a wolf-horse or a horse-eagle,"

"They are called double species divines. They can shift between the two species forms,"

"That umm makes sense?" I scratch my head and try to wrap my head around this. "So uh, this wolf-whatever. What do you mean it's bound to me forever?"

"You're connected for life. When you die, she will and if she dies then you die,"

"Are you serious! I haven't even broken my first curse, and now I have another one!"

"Being a Divine Host is NOT a curse!" Lupa growled angrily. "It is a blessing, it is a gift. And it would be in your best interest that you accept it, and appreciate it."

"I'm sorry, I did not mean to upset you," I say regretfully. If Lupa was angry with you...then you were pretty much dead. She was powerful enough to rip nearly anyone to shred with only her muscle power, let alone her divine, goddess powers and abilities.

"You are being pursued by one who seeks to kill your Divine companion, your bonding is almost complete so remember about your blood contract. And good luck with your quest,"

The dream began to falter and I cried out. "Wait! I still need to talk to you. Lupa please!" I beg.

"Wake up my child, wake up," she said with a gentle voice one more.

June 23

6 AM: 18 hours until Feast of Fortuna

The howling was getting closer, and the sun was starting to rise. An hour after Lexi passing out, and me trying to do everything I could to reversed whatever was going on with her, the motel was surrounded by a pack of wolves. To be more exact, they were viscous, lyncanthropes, I had to grab our things, strap both of the backpacks onto my back and run from the Heathman Lodge and back onto the highway, and that devilish wolf cub had the nerve to run behind me.

"Go Away!" I yelled. The cub looked up at me and completely disregarded what I had just said.

Lexi gasped and I nearly dropped her. "Wha-What's going on?" She stuttered sleepily. I wanted to set her down but she wasn't awake enough to run just yet.

"Well you've been passed out for a few hours now, and we're being chased by a pack of lycanthropes, and you're little friend here won't get lost," I explained briefly. I could see the wheels turning in her head as she processed what I had just said.

My head snapped to my left where a lycanthrope leapt out of a patch of wild bushes. I had turned just in time to cover Lexi, as the beast pounced onto my back. Lexi screamed and I growled from the pain as the evil creature tore into my jacket and dug it's sharp teeth into my skin. Lexi rolled from beneath me and summoned her weapons.

I rolled over to my side and tried to wrestle with the lycanthrope whose wild, dingy fur smelled like wet dog. It barred it's teeth and growled angrily as it thrashed its paws at me wildly. I didn't have the time to really look but I from my peripheral vision I could see she was now wide awake.

"Arrr!" The viscous animal yelled as it limped over I could see that Lexi had shot it with a silver arrow, the only silver weapon we had that could possibly kill them. We were quickly being surrounded by the pack and the cub looked at Lexi and started barking.

Lexi's eyes bulged in surprise, it was as if she had understood what it was trying to communicate. I could see some of the arrows returning to her quiver, as they always did post-launching. She reloaded her bow and aimed it at an incoming attacker.

Meanwhile, I had to figure out a way to protect myself and help Lexi, but I was caught off guard by what happened next. Lexi shot down another lyncanthrope that had black fur and had been foaming at the mouth, but just as she was reloading another jumped onto her back. Suddenly the small, black and white cub grew from two feet tall to eight and it looked like a lean, mean, killing machine.

The cub or should I say a fully grown wolf attacked Lexi's attacker and practically ripped the offender to pieces giving Lexi enough time to grab her bow and shoot an arrow towards me. I fell to the ground dodging the arrow and I heard a loud thump, when I looks to the left sure enough there had been a lyncanthrope about to jump on me.

There was really no word to describe how horrible I felt both physically and emotionally. The forest became silent as the wolf ripped apart the last beast in the pack and shifted back into its original puppy or cub form and rubbed its body against Lexi's leg affectionately.

What in the Hades...?

Leo

"You've got to be kidding me man!" I yelled in frustration. Smoke came from the engine and I cursed as I hit it with my wrench.

Jason and Piper squatted down beside me curious as to what was wrong.

"What's going on with the engine?"

"I have know idea! I could be the frizzrockets, could be the samophlange, could be Gaea messing with us again. Gods I don't know!"

"How long is it going to take to fix?" Jason asked.

I bit my lip and wiped my sweat from my forehead. "I don't know, two to three days,"

"They might not have that long. We're supposed to be leaving today. It's the solstice," Piper says in a somewhat concerned tone, not like she would be helping me or anything...

"I know! I know!" I ran my greasy fingers through my hair in frustration and groaned angrily. Everyone was ready to go and just as we were going to take off the engine started going nuts.

A few hours passed and Maya walked up from below deck and gave me a sympathetic look. So I guess that meant she would finally give me a break and stop giving me grief. Piper and Jason were still talking to me but I kept my eyes trained on Maya. Her short shoulder length hair had been straightened and her bangs were pulled back by a girly headband. She was dressed in the normal Camp Half-Blood shirt but she was wearing shorts that revealed her long lean legs.

She walked over to the railing of the ship and looked out over the camp. She sighed heavily and looked down at her stomach sadly. It hurt to see her that way, to see her so upset and stressed. I sighed and turn back to the engine.

"Are you even paying attention!?" Piper placed her hands on her hips and tapped her foot.

"Not really, but thanks for your concern, I got this. I'll talk to you two later..." I respond gently. Jason and I exchanged quick looks before he nodded in understanding and took Piper away.

Soon after I left Maya came and sat next to me. "Are you okay?" She asked softly.

"Not really...but I'll be fine once I fix this. What about you?"

"Physically I guess I could say I'm alright but emotionally...I feel horrible. But that doesn't matter right now,"

"Of course it matters Maya, you can talk to me right now if you want. I can multitask,"

Then she sighed before explaining to me just how scared and stressed she was about the whole pregnancy thing. Plus she was scared about the quest too, she this would be her second quest and she felt she wasn't worthy of being one of the nine.

She felt she would be holding everyone back and in all honesty...she probably would but telling her that wouldn't make things better and it wouldn't make her feel any better.

I kissed her and tried my best to reassure her that things would be okay, but I don't think it really helped. But what did help was having her help me with the engine, it took her mind off things and helped me solve the problem a lot faster. And thanks to her we were ready to go.

Camp Jupiter here we come!

Nate

June 23 12:00 P.M.

12 hours til Feast of Fortuna

Nate was two seconds from losing his mind. All the campers were all up in arms about the battle that was supposed to be happening tomorrow and there was no time to waste at all. Nate had been spending most of his time in the infirmary and in the camp forges trying to help repair armor and certain weapons. But with every spare moment he had he spent it looking for Mackenzie...

He was worried sick about her and he was furious since it seemed like no one cared that she had been missing for 3 days now. And the only trace that was left behind was her CP, compact phone and a necklace he had gotten her that was found near the bridge. But he had a strong feeling that he knew who it was and when he found Mackenzie and the dumb ass who abducted her, he was going to rip them limb from limb, burn their body parts in a fire and dance around it.

The good thing was that he would get a chance to look for her on the quest since Octavian told him yesterday that he was now one of the nine from the prophecy of seven. Nate simply wanted to know what happened to Kenzie but instead he got a message that said "Healing hands are in need. You must go on the quest, where your chances to succeed are at its best."

It had been one of the most clear readings Octavian has ever given and now Nate was even more afraid. Now he had to join the quest and the world was now counting on him in some sense. He had never been on a quest, and he never really had the desire to since Nate was never enjoyed fighting and facing certain death.

As he walked to the armory to check what was left of the weaponry he thought of all the reasons why he didn't want to go on the quest. The most important reason being that his combat skills were mediocre at best, and they would be traveling to ancient lands. That meant they would be fighting all kinds of powerful monsters and he wasn't sure he could handle it.

But regardless of how he really felt, he would be going on an epic journey in hopes of finding the girl of his dreams…

Jason

Annabeth was furious and I honestly couldn't say I wasn't upset either.

Because I was getting extremely irritated and antsy, now that we were far behind schedule. My home was about to be destroyed, my family, the people I cared about were in danger, and I wouldn't be there for the fight. I really hoped that Percy was as good as everyone said he was because I was going to need him to save my home.

But how could we possibly defeat an army of monsters when we were fighting amongst ourselves. Annabeth got into it with Maya, then Leo started arguing with Annabeth, then Piper decided she wanted to get involved and made everything worse. Of course I was the one who ended breaking up the brawl.

So now Piper was in her cabin, Leo and Maya were in the ship's Bridge, or command center, and Annabeth was angrily pacing the deck and massaging her mostly likely throbbing temples. I sighed before making the brave decision to approach her and attempt to calm her down.

"Hey…you okay?" I ask gently.

She turned and gave me a look that made me swallow hard. "Look, we're all stressed out here, and I know you're worried about Percy but we need to just relax, take a deep breath and try to figure out how to get back on track. We can't put everything on Leo, he's done so much already,"

"Why does everyone act like I do nothing!? I work hard too! And I wish that people would just do things right, we don't have room for mistakes," she huffed angrily.

"Annabeth, I don't think you realize how difficult and mean you're being to everyone right now. Leo and Maya have been working hard for months and yes, you've been searching for Percy and did other things, but give everyone some credit here. We've all been pushing ourselves pretty hard, but arguing with everyone and telling everyone what they're doing wrong isn't going to help anything,"

She sighed and leaned on the railing. She stayed quiet for a moment and I could tell she was really thinking about what I had said. "You're right…I have been a little mean lately. I just…I just can't lose him you know?" she looked up and turned

"Yea, I get it. I would be the same way if it was Piper, but you've got to lighten up a bit. We've all got to work together, but we can't do that if you keep getting into conflict with everyone," I patted her on her back and she sighed again.

"Have I been that bad ?" I bit my lip and stayed quiet, and that was a good enough answer for her. "Well…I guess that means I need to apologize."

"That's a good place to start,"

"Thanks Jason, I can see why you were a leader at the other camp. You're really good with people," she says softly. Her stormy grey eyes were now calm and that put me at ease.

After my talk with Annabeth, she had made the mature decision to apologize to everyone for being such a witch, and everyone forgave her even though I noticed Maya was a little hesitant. But that was a good start, and we could finally leave Camp Half-Blood and focus on bigger things.
