A/N: So the reaction to the last chapter was AMAZING! Thank you all who follow, read, review or anything. it means a lot which is why I decided to update tonight (or whatever time it is where you are. It's 11 in the evening where I am.) I hope you like this chapter, song is: winter song - sara bareilles. I just love her music! I didn't spend as much time writing this chapter as i usually do because it was hurried and life keeps me busy, so it's shorter than the last one. sorry! I'll try to update soon because it's weekend

She loved it when it was pouring in Seattle, but she loved it even more when the first snowflakes fell. And today, she realized, as she looked out of her window in the morning, was the day that would happen.

Snow, however, was not in the agenda today said the weatherman with a big smile. Stupid weatherman.

She went to work and outside she realized she needed a warmer coat. She had some saving up to do. No coffee today.

It felt like a heavy day already.

This is my winter song to you

The storm is coming soon

It rolls in from the sea

When she arrived at work she saw Jackson and smiled brightly, but when he didn't return the favor, the smile faded.

"What's wrong?" Ali asked.

"April… she said that she missed me the other day."

Ali rolled her eyes and sighed. "I'm going to kick her in the face and tear her limb from limb when I run into her."

"Where did all that violence come from?" Jackson asked her.

"It came from me, listening to you for hours, going on and on about April and how shiny her hair is and how you were-"

"Ali… What if she's my soul mate?"

"Oh, the other half, the love of your life- NO! Because if she were, she'd be here standing beside you right now. And you probably wouldn't even be friends with me."

"What? Why?" That would just seem too cruel.

"I don't like her and she kind of hates me."

"She doesn't hate you."

"Yes, she does!"

"Why would she hate me?"

"Because of us. Our friendship. She hates it and yesterday she told me that she thought I was 'not that trustworthy of a person'. I mean, what is that? What does that even mean?"

"I'm sure she didn't say that."

"Yes, she did. Literally."

"She really said that?" Jackson said with a frown. That was so unlike April. The April he'd known had been sweet and kind and wouldn't do that.

"Would I lie to you?" She asked.

"No." He said with a grave smile. "You always tell me everything. You even told me that you think I'll get fat in the future." That last part he said a little angrily.

"I just think you have the gene, that's all." She shrugged.

"That is not even a gene!" He almost yelled.

"Okay, let's not get into this again." Ali decided. "We already fought about this last time."

"You're right."

My voice, a beacon in the night

My words will be your light

To carry you to me

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

Is love

Alex walked up to Ali.

"Ready for the case today?"

"Yeah, 5 year old with prostate cancer right?"

"I was thinking maybe we could discuss the details now." He suggested.

"Sure, but it's lunch time."

"So, we'll get lunch."

In the cafeteria, after they were done discussing the case, they were kind of out of ideas for conversation material.

"So what happened after Jackson left the wedding at Kepner's?" Ali asked.

"Oh… well, it was chaos. Stephanie started crying so Jo took her away to go and get her cleaned up. Matthew started fighting with April and everyone was yelling at each other. Callie and Arizona started making out for some reason, and Cristina just laughed really hard at everything. Meredith was talking about something with Derek, I don't know what. Anyway, after the chaos was over, Matthew and April exchanged their vows, but the reception was kind of awkward and tensed."

"I still can't believe that that actually happened."

"I know, it seems so surreal. It's one of those things people only do in movies."

"Or books." Ali added.

Alex smiled a little. Back when he was dating Lexie, sort of anyway, she read everything that she got a hold of. Once he had given her a book a patient who died had left behind, and she had been truly touched.

"You reading anything good?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm reading 'I never promised you a rose garden'. It's quite sad, actually."

"You should get Avery to read, maybe he needs a little drama so he doesn't create his own."

"You know what? That is actually a pretty good idea! And I was only thinking to get him a cat…"

"Unless he gets inspired to do more dramatic things… that would be a twist for the worse. Or does he read already?"

"No, normally we spend weekdays we have off on his couch, with me reading and him watching a movie or a football game."

"You 2 spend a lot nights like that?"

"Yeah, well, he can really use a good friend right now."

They say that things just can not grow

Beneath the winter snow

Or so I have been told

"A book club?" Jackson asked her, she really had become crazy.

"Yeah." Ali said. "Of course a book club."

"Are you crazy?"

"No, I think you need it."

"Actually, books are a really good outlet for your emotions." Wyatt said. "You feel whatever the main character feels."

"Thanks for the support." He said sarcastically. "But I really don't have time to do this."

"If you have time to pine after April, you have time to do this." Ali reasoned.

"But what if she's my-"

"Soul mate?" Ali said furiously. "Jackson, you've gotta be kidding me with this crap! There's more than one soul mate out there for everyone. Else it'd be such a dumb system! Jackson, you deserve better than someone that makes you miserable. April deserves better, too… And for a guy like you? Jackson, there'd be a damn line out the door as soon as the word got out! I think there already is." Then Ali got paged. "I've gotta go, but you 2 discuss this." And she ran out of the room without waiting for a response.

They say we're buried far

Just like a distant star

I simply can not hold

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

Jackson sat there with a shocked look on his face.

"The nerve of that girl…" Wyatt said. "Sometimes I really admire her." She noticed Jackson's strange look. "Are you okay?"

"I said the same thing to her right before we got together, a couple of years ago. Almost the exact same thing, only there were other people involved."

"Wait, are you serious?" Wyatt asked.

"Yes… Is she remembering me?"

"She could be. Or what you said meant a lot to her, and it really stuck with her. Which could be why she remembers that particular conversation, even if she probably doesn't know she remembers it."

This is my winter song

December never felt so wrong

Cause you're not where you belong

Inside my arms

Owen walked up to Ali. "Dr. Grey, a word please?"

"Uh… Sure, chief."

"It's about the other day. I'd like to apologize for Dr. Kepner's behavior in the OR. She never should've interfered with the surgery."

"Why doesn't she just say so herself?" Ali asked.

"She doesn't particularly… I don't know. She's busy, I guess."

"Well, thank you."

"And I wanted to tell you what an amazing job you did in there." He said. "Not many surgeons could've saved that baby."

"Thank you, Dr. Hunt. That means a lot."

"You can call me Owen."

"Then you can call me L- Ali." She corrected herself before she'd said Lexie. What was it with that name?

Bum bum bum bum, bum bum bum bum

Bum bum, bum bum bum bum

Bum bum, bum bum bum bum

Ali walked up to Jackson. "When I first got here, my first day ever here, you called me Lexie. Now, I've never questioned you about it because I figured it was something personal. But now I'd like to know." She said.

"I was talking about my ex-girlfriend, Lexie."

"And why did you call me that?"

"You two had the same hair."

Ali kind of understood but it still felt weird. She actually wanted answers, but she realized Jackson couldn't give her those. It was just a creepy coincidence.

"Can you tell me about her?"

"Sure." He said with a grave smile. "She was kind, smart, funny, beautiful, talented…"

"So why is she your ex-girlfriend?" Ali asked with a smile. "You speak so kindly of her."

He wondered the exact same thing now. "She loved someone else." He finally said.

"Oh, that sucks."

"It's not that bad, I guess."

"Did you love her?"

"Yes."

"Then I'm very sorry for you, I guess."

I still believe in summer days

The seasons always change

And life will find a way

"Does that answer your question?"

"J-J- J- uuh… J-"

"Jackson?" Jackson helped her.

"Oh right."

"Did you seriously just forget my name?"

"You know, it's the amnesia thing, and I have a problem with names!"

"What kind of problem?"

"I keep introducing, or trying to introduce, myself as Lexie, when I'm not. It's probably because you called me that the first day but I'm getting really confused!"

"It'll be alright. So… What book are we reading first?"

"Really? You'll do the book club with me?" She said with a bright smile.

"Anything for you."

"Thank you, that means a lot."

"Well you mean a lot to me…"

I'll be your harvester of light

And send it out tonight

So we can start again

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

April and Meredith approached Ali, who had just gotten out of surgery with Alex.

"So I wanna know what your deal is." April said to Ali.

"What?" Meredith asked her. She thought they'd talk about the surgery Lexie had just successfully performed.

"My deal?" Ali asked her.

"Yeah, with Jackson."

"Why?"

"For the record," Meredith said. "I don't want to know that."

"Shut up!" April said. "Are you after him?"

"No, why?"

"Because, I don't know, it just seems that you are. You two pretty much spend every waking minute together."

"And that could have been you, couldn't it? But you were the one that decided it was a great idea to lose your virginity to your best friend! When you wanted to wait!"

"Oh, I am not perfect and neither are you!"

"I never said I was perfect."

"Look, just don't do anything with him."

"April, I get that you're hurt. It must be hard for you, but don't take it out on me."

This is my winter song

Inside my arms

Deb approached the 3 women. "So, Ali, I was thinking maybe I should just sleep with both of the guys and see who's best." She stopped when she saw the tensed look on everyone's face. "Is everything okay?"

"Everything's fine." Ali said. "And no Deb, that's a terrible idea!"

"You're right." April said. "I guess I just believed at some point that me and Jackson would've made it, and it's hard to let go."

"Wait!" Deb almost yelled. "Is this about the bad sex in your marriage again? Because I know how hard it is when you're not getting any good, but don't take your sexual frustration out on her!"

"Wait, the sex is bad?" Meredith asked April. "When did that happen?"

"I never said-"

"You did." Deb said.

"Practice makes perfect." Ali said to April encouragingly.

"Thank you."

"And for the record, I'm very fond of Jackson, but not just interested in him in that way."

"Yet." Deb added.

"Do you always have to have the last word?" Ali asked her, shaking her head a little.

"I mean, it's inevitable, just look at him."

"Horny bitch." Ali sort of teased her. It was just a friend thing.

"Stupid slut." Deb said. "And yeah, I might be horny, but I'm working on it."

"You are disgusting." Ali said. They looked around and saw both April and Meredith had already left. They didn't really care though.

This is my winter song to you

The storm is coming soon

It rolls in from the sea

By the end of the day, Ali was standing on the catwalk of the hospital, when Jackson walked up to her.

"Hey gorgeous." He greeted.

"Hey hot stuff." She greeted back happily.

"Turns out you were right." He said, as the first snowflakes started falling down on the cityscape of Seattle.

"I really was." Ali said, smiling, and looking outside. Then she realized Jackson didn't know she'd predicted snow today "Wait, about what?"

"I am not over April and I'll do anything to get over her. So give me any book you have."

"She's out there, you know, the perfect girl for you." Ali said. "You just have to wait, because she's on her way." He couldn't help but think she was talking about herself when saying this. Ali needed to hear the same words he needed to hear.

"Well, tell her to hurry the hell up." Jackson joked, but there was a tone of seriousness in his voice.

"Patience, darling, she's coming here as fast as she can."

"Do you have time tonight?" Jackson asked. "We'll hang out, get you some popcorn-"

"I can't." She said.

"Why?" He asked. "Anything I can help you with?"

"I have a date." She just kind of blurted out. "I didn't know if I should tell you or not, because we only really talk about your love life, so-"

"It's fine." She leaned her head against his shoulder as he put his arm around her. "It's fine. Go have fun."

"Thank you."

"The snow's really beautiful."

"Can I just say, that I'm very fond of you, Jackson?"

"I love you too." He said back.

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

Is love alive?

A/N: So do you guys want Jackson to get a cat? and I didn't want to be too harshon April, so was I? How would you guys feel about next chapter being from Meredith's point of view? Thank you for reading! (Maybe review? I don't know…) And the story's Jackson/Lexie endgame, just to make things clear. I know that it's a lot of friendship but that's built-up.

The: bitch and slut thing is a thing my friends and me do, so I figured I'd let Deb and ALi do that. If you really hate Deb, I could kill her off and she won't be in the story anymore.

How do you feel about Lexie repeating Jackson? Was it too corny?
