I sincerely apologize for not having updated in so long but after the last chapter, I had no idea how to continue. Inspiration finally struck and I wrote the chapter. I'm sorry if the chapter is short but I hope you enjoy it.
Unknown Pov
Edward Cullen paced the living room, his hands occasionally running through his hair in a frustrated manner. The man chuckled quietly, his position on the tree allowing him a perfect view on the frustrated vampire, the unconscious mother, and the child whose sleep was plagued by nightmares.
The rest of the Cullen Clan, gone to hunt after Alice's mysterious collapse, left the humans vulnerable, allowing his plan to fall into place perfectly.
Taking in an unnecessary breath of air, he cleared his mind and focused. It took several minutes before he was able to get inside Edward's mind, the buzzing thoughts making it difficult for him to concentrate.
Quiet, the man thought, Edward's thoughts silencing at his instruction.
Blinking, Edward gasped as the intruder in his mind began to take over, darkness consuming the Cullen's mind until he could no longer hear thoughts. It clouded his sight and filled his ears. Falling to his knees, he screamed, the silence maddening. The intruder blinked and watched from his branch as Edward Cullen's honey-colored eyes rolled back into his head and he succumbed.
He'd done something similar to Alice; he'd taken away her Sight, rendering her useless. Without her ability to see into the future, Alice was left with a hole inside. He'd overdone it with her he knew, but it was too easy.
With Edward, he'd entered his mind, shutting down his ability. He'd taken one step further, just like with Alice, and took over everything to make sure the Cullen boy wouldn't interfere.
Drained, the vampire stood from his perch on the tree and jumped, the fall well over a hundred feet. Landing silently, he walked toward the house with ease. When he stepped through the doorway, the smell of the two humans filled his senses, his blood-red flashing. With quick speed, he picked up Renee. On second thought, he set her down and grabbed the duct tape he'd brought just in case they were to awaken. Taping her mouth, he bound her hands and feet.
Moving up the stairs silently, he heard the sound of Bella's heart that beat quickly from a nightmare. Smiling, he opened her door and stepped in, the scent of her blood rich. He was swift as he bound the girl's hands and feet then taped her mouth. Her brown eyes shot open when an ice-cold hand touched her face.
Fear filled her body as the man threw her over his shoulder then appeared downstairs. Tossing Renee over his shoulders, he disappeared.
The house was left empty apart from the unconscious Cullen, with no trace the intruder had ever been there.
