NJaN Ch 13

AN- So I realized that I said I would write Matthew meeting Ludwig for the pervious chapter, but I never did! So I sorry about that, I forgot ^_^' oops. BUt hey I wrote this up not even a week into the last update :D So here it is a new chapter with the two blondes meeting and more. Hope you enjoy.

Matthew was worried, three days have passed and there was still no sign of Li. He had only found out on the second day. He didn't see him at school and when he had planned to give Yao his homework at work but the other Asian man wasn't at work and thought he was taking care of his cousin. Sadly he didn't try to reach him any other way, thinking the boy needed his rest. On the second day he tried calling his cell but got no answer and when he called Yao cell he got a cry from Yao calling his friends name. That's when he found out, through the sobs of his coworker begging to know if he's seen any sign of his friend.

When Matthew sunk in that his friend wasn't sick but was now officially missing, he called Gilbert and asked him if he's spotted the young teen. Gilbert gave a sorrowful no but promised to call his police friend to get a move on and to keep him updated. But that was all they could do; wait.

Now here they were early in the morning posting fliers around the streets. Gilbert had come over to walk him to school, though he did meet him at a corner, and told him that his friend had printed them out the night before. Neither one of them was happy to put them around the streets, but what else could they do?

"Come on I'll walk you to school, you're already late."

Matthew only gave a small nod but he really wasn't in the mood to go to class, especially if he had to sit next to an empty seat again.

"Hey come on we'll find him and maybe you can put some fliers around school too." Said the albino placing a hand on his shoulder trying to reassure him, Gilbert was worried as well, he may not have gotten to know the raven as well as Matthew but Yao was a good friend and he had gotten used to seeing the younger teen around. He knew how much he meant to Yao.

They walked in silence; one thinking where would be a good place to post the Missing sign around and the other thinking on how to help his friends.

The school day didn't get any better, not that Matthew thought it would since there was always a reminder of Li. He was reminded of how lonely he really used to be before the young teen started talking to him.

Matthew let out a breath as he posted another paper on the bulletin board. It was another thing he hated throughout the day. Posting the fliers around the school just made him feel almost sick. More so when he saw a young girl breakdown, ripping the paper apart while doing so. Realizing it was one the sisters Li had talked about. Matthew ran not wanting to see more as some the family members he's heard of running to comfort the girl.

'Maybe I should stop.' He thought as he finished stapling another flier. He didn't want to run into another scene like that again and was worried he may have been adding more suffering to the family by putting them around.

Matthew thought it was best to stop for today and save more to place around on his way to work. But his thoughts were cut short as he bumped into someone and all the left over fliers were thrown around. 'Great, just great.' He angrily thought.

"I'm sorry!" Matthew apologized instead, trying to pick up as many of the papers as he could not wanting them to get stepped on. He didn't care for a reply he just picked them all up swiftly and was about to run off before being stopped by a strong grip.

Matthew winced a bit at the strong hold.

"Are you Matthews?" Said a deep voice. Matthew looked at the owner and gave a little shudder as he looked into icy blue eyes just glaring down at him.

"Are you Matthew?" The teen asked again tightening his hold on the smaller blond.

"Y-yes." Matthew said trying to hold his cry of pain and panic as the larger teen pulled him away from the hallway and into an empty classroom.

Once inside the larger blond practically threw him onto a desk. Matthew began to panic now, was he going to beat him up? Did he think he was Alfred? No that couldn't be it the senior, he was sure he was a senior, even asked about his name.

"What do you want?" He quivered trying to back away from his assaulter.

"Who are you and how do you know my bruder?" He said stalking towards Matthew.

"Who?"

Wow Matthew never thought he would be the one asking that question.

"Gilbert" He said angrily "How do you know him?"

"Gilbert?" Then it clicked. "Bruder, that's brother, he says that all the time. You're Ludwig?"

The senior, now known as Ludwig, gave a firm nod as he continued to stare down at Matthew.

"You're Ludwig, Gilbert's little brother?" Matthew couldn't help but gawk at him. Gilbert said his little brother was cute not well built and looked like he just came out of boot camp. He was going to hurt him when he sees him later.

Ludwig growled at the smaller teen who kept gawping at him. "Well?"

"S-sorry," Gulped Matthew "you're just not what I expected."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ludwig said irritated. "Never mind that, just answer my question; who are you and how do you know my burder?" He growled while shaking the blonde.

"I'm Matthew Bonnefoy-Kirkland, I'm just a friend of Gilbert and we met at the café I work at!" Matthew shouted in one breath.

Ludwig's eyes grew at the surname given to him. 'Bonnefoy-Kirkland?' It was his turn to gawk at the smaller teen.

"You're Francis' son?"

"Yes."

"Gott he's going to kill me."

"Can I go now?"

Arthur was a nerves mess. How could he not? Just a few nights ago Francis had told him the news of their sons being in danger and that same night his worker's family member went missing. It didn't help that Li's name was also on the list of the children that have been disappearing. This just proved that they had to be extremely careful and always on guard. How was he going to explain this to his boys though? Telling them that there was a killer on the loose wouldn't help. They wouldn't think so much about it.

"There has to be something we can do." He said staring down at this drink. The British man was still against telling a word to his sons, but Yao had told him yesterday that he had tried everything. Li's magical signature was gone but Yao had kept a charm on him to let him know if he was alive. At the moment Yao couldn't take his eyes off the pocket watch.

A chime was heard and Arthur was about to tell them they were closed when he stopped in his tracks. There standing at the door was Ivan Braginski, his usual tall structure was brought down from heavy shoulders and his violent eyes dull and sad instead of the usual crazy misfit they always had.

"We need to talk."

"But how is that even possible?"

Both men sat at the small round tables looking down at their drinks. Ivan was kind enough to inform him of the omen that happened Yao but even Arthur knows that the cup itself wouldn't just heat up.

"Are you sure that it wasn't Yao?"

"Yao can only use a specific type of magic, he's sure that it's a sign of Li's after he burnt on the doorknob when he walked in the house." Ivan took a sign and gave the man across from him a grim look. "You've thought him before, a mistake yes, but you know his magical signature as well."

"But Yao doesn't even feel, it's not normal for magic to work that way? Everyone has a scent or a signature on them, and to not sense it in anyway is just abnormal even for magic."

"But Li figured something out and it could be a way to find him."

"Even if Yao is right about this, what does he expect us to do? Touch every surface? We don't even have a trail to follow?"

"We found one this morning."

Arthur's eyes widen at this. "Why wasn't I informed sooner?"

"Cause Yao said he wants to ask Gilbert for help."

Tea was splattered on the floor as another cup shattered right next to it. Ivan just raised an eyebrow at the Englishman, who had gotten up and slammed his hands on the table. Arthur was breathing deeply his eyes covered under his bangs and shaking with anger.

Ivan didn't care. "It was blood found some a block away from the house. Seems like that was as far as he got, but the blood was written to spell out 'two' with Chinese characters."

By now Arthur had settled down once again but had clutched his fist tight. He knew what characters Ivan mentioned, Li had started using them as his symbol after the eyebrow incident.

"We want you both you and Francis to come but if you can't keep your mouth shut I will personally take care of it." Arthur cringed at Ivan's infamous look glared down at him. "Yao is already stressed as it is I don't want you giving him more. Which is why I want your husband to come, he may be able to save your life."

He didn't need to explain from who.

Ivan gave a nod and got up. "Oh and Berwald will be accompany us as well. So just meet us at The Loft."

Arthur didn't trust himself to say anything so he simply nodded at the Russian man, who gave a smile and left.

"It's going to be a long night" Arthur said waving his hand soon both fallen tea and cup where gone.
