A/N: Hopefully you guys have already noticed from the title that this isn't chapter 14 but chapter 13 continued. If you remember I really hated how that one ended and I had trouble starting chapter 14 because of it. Sooooooooooooo, I decided to add to chapter 13! However, I didn't feel like deleting chapter 13 and I was afraid if I just replaced the chapter no one would notice so this filler chapter was born. I'll take this down and add it to the old chapter 13 when I put up the real chapter 14, hopefully that'll be before the end of November. I know this is a lot shorter than what I usually write but remember it's only a filler chapter! Anyhoo, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thanks to InvisibleA, Dreamer Child, Just Me Prime, Toniboo (I know I said I was going to update ch. 14 before Thanksgiving but it didn't work out. Sry! Hope u enjoy this chappie anyway), Lady Saffron of the Daggers, Caz92, Ambs, vixen519, Blood Roses18, Wildly Obsessed, fanficrulz, Buffyfan4ever, ginger, Nikki101, Athene Saile. Major thanks to Water Block for reviewing every single chapter of my fic in one sitting! I always wondered how authors felt when I did that and now I know.
The Partial Truth Contd.
For a couple of minutes Sirius didn't say anything. He was too busy trying to sort out his thoughts and feelings. His first reaction was disbelief. He didn't know much about Angel but he knew enough to know that he was Buffy's ex-boyfriend and that whatever had been between them had been very serious. Sirius had always known that there was more to the story but a vampire? That was just well, wrong.
Buffy was the first one to speak up. "Aren't you going to say something?" she asked nervously.
"I don't know what to say." Sirius said frankly. He ran his fingers thru his hair. "I mean a vampire? How'd that happen?"
"It just did," Buffy said with an uncomfortable shrug. At the moment she couldn't think of anything she'd like to do less than discuss her ex-boyfriend with her current one but she could see no way out of this one.
"It just did?" Sirius repeated with a raised brow. "C'mon Buff, I'm going to need more than that."
Buffy sighed. "What do you want me to say?" she asked tiredly. "When I first met him I didn't know he was a vampire and afterwards it was too late for me to care. I didn't ask to fall in love with a two hundred and forty something year old vampire and I'm pretty sure he didn't ask to fall in love with a teenager who had a nose for trouble. It just happened. I guess it was fate."
It bothered Sirius to hear the note of wistfulness creep into Buffy's voice as she talked about her ex and the fact that it bothered him bothered him even more.
"And you weren't ever worried that he'd hurt you? That he'd bite you or something? After all that is what vampires do." Sirius said testily. He had expected Buffy to start defending Angel so he was a little surprised to see her uneasily turn away.
"Buffy?" Sirius asked confusedly. It suddenly clicked when he saw her absently rub her neck. "Bloody hell," he swore. "He bit you, didn't he?"
Buffy looked at him guiltily. "Yeah, but you have to understand I was the one who made him do it." She said quickly. Sirius's look was full of disbelief. "He was hit by a poison arrow and he was going to die if he didn't get blood, so I gave him some of mine." At least it was close to the truth, she thought. "And considering the fact I'm here and having this conversation with you, you know it all worked out in the end so you don't need to worry!" she finished brightly.
Sirius's eyes narrowed. "But what if it hadn't? What if he started drinking and didn't stop? Why would you take that chance?"
"Because I loved him," Buffy said honestly. "And I couldn't stand to sit around and watch him die."
"I see," Sirius said abruptly. He was now wishing that they had never gotten into this discussion because the more he heard about Angel the more he began to doubt his own relationship with Buffy.
Buffy was taken aback by his cool tone. "Sirius, I know you're worried," she said, misunderstanding the cause of his aggravation. "But you have to understand Angel would never hurt me, ever."
The fact that she could have such utter confidence and belief in a vampire but still have trust issues when it came to him only added to his aggravation. "If that's the case then why aren't you still with him?" he said bitterly.
Buffy gaped at him.
"You know what? Never mind. I don't think I can take this conversation anymore." Sirius said, shaking his head.
"What is wrong with you?" Buffy asked, quickly snapping out of her stupor. "You're the one who demanded the truth and now that I give it to you, you suddenly can't handle it?"
That was the last blow. "For your information Buffy I can handle the truth just fine," Sirius snapped. "But what I can't handle is the fact that you're dating me while it's completely obvious that you're still in love with you're ex-boyfriend who just happens to be a centuries old vampire."
"I'm what?" Buffy said incredulously.
"You don't need to lie to me, Buffy. It's obvious that you're in love with him. I just can't believe it took me this long to figure it out." Sirius said with a self-deprecating laugh.
"Sirius," Buffy said, knowing she would have to choose her words carefully. "I am not in love with Angel. I mean, I was once upon a time but not anymore."
"Right. You woke up one morning and decided that you weren't going to love him anymore." Sirius said sardonically.
"Well, actually I did try that," Buffy said with a smile. It quickly vanished when she saw Sirius look away from her. "Stupid joke. But Sirius you have to understand that don't love Angel anymore. I won't lie to you and say I never did but what Angel and I had is over."
"If you say so," Sirius said with a blatant shrug that signaled the fact that he still didn't believe her. He wouldn't even look at her.
"Sirius, look at me," Buffy said exasperatedly. She didn't get any reaction from him. Buffy sighed and got up from where she was sitting. She walked over to Sirius and sat next to him. He reluctantly turned to look at her. Buffy took her chance and gripped his face in her hands so he couldn't look away from her.
"I'm going to say this once and I'm going to say it slowly and hopefully you'll stop acting like an ass long enough to hear what I have to say. Now listen up, I. Am. Not. In. Love. With. Angel." Buffy said spacing apart the words. "Got it?"
Sirius tore away from her grip, stood up and started to pace the room. "No, I don't get it. I don't get how you can have such blind faith in your ex-boyfriend who is also a vampire and have zero trust in me. I don't get how you tell me in one breath that what we have is special and in the next refuse to let me help you. I don't get-" he stopped to take a breath and regroup.
"Is that what's bothering you?" Buffy asked. She went on without waiting for him to answer. "Cos if it is, then we have to get something straight. I do have faith in Angel but it took us over two years, at least three break ups, countless arguments, a lot of sleepless nights, plenty of tears, some actual bruises and a couple of near death situations to get there. Now, I'm hoping that I'll be able to get there with you without having to go through all that."
Sirius couldn't help the wry smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth. Taking that as a sign, Buffy got up and walked over to Sirius so that they were face to face.
"But if that's what it takes, then I'll willing go through all of that again just so I can be with you," She said seriously. "Because you're worth it Sirius, because our relationship is worth it."
For a minute, they just stood there staring at each other.
"You promise not to keep anything like this from me again?" Sirius said finally.
"I'll try," Buffy said sincerely, hoping that he wouldn't ask more of her. She refused to make promises she wouldn't be able to keep.
Apparently Sirius understood that too because after a moment he gave a slow nod. "I guess that'll have to be enough for now," Sirius said.
Buffy visibly relaxed. "Does this mean our fight is over?" she asked hopefully.
"Definitely." Sirius said with a grin.
"Wanna seal it with a kiss?" Buffy asked returning his grin with a mischievous smile.
In response, Sirius opened his arms for a hug. Buffy forcefully launched herself at him and together they fell back on his bed, laughing.

Buffy woke up the next morning feeling more content than she had felt in a very long time. In fact, the last time she had felt this satisfied was the morning after she had slept with Angel. Although she hadn't made love with Sirius last night (they had spent most of the time talking, kissing and just cuddling in general), Buffy had drifted off to sleep in his arms feeling as if no one and nothing in the world could touch them as long as they were together.
Buffy could feel Sirius stirring behind her.
"Good morning," Buffy said turning around to face him.
"Morning," Sirius replied giving her a lazy smile that was so sexy it should've been illegal. "Or should I say afternoon considering the fact that it's almost noon." He added squinting at his watch.
"What!" Buffy said, jumping out of the bed. "It can't be, we couldn't have slept that long!"
"Well, considering the fact that we didn't go to sleep until after dawn, I'd say we could've and we did." Sirius said, bemused. "Why are you worried? We don't have any classes today."
"That makes things even worse!" Buffy cried. "Now everyone is going to be in the Common Room."
"You've lost me, Buffy." Sirius said, watching her go into the bathroom from his place on the bed.
"When they see me coming out of the 7th year boy's dormitory wearing the same clothes that I was wearing yesterday, they'll all know I spent the night here with you." Buffy explained when she came back out of the bathroom.
"And what's wrong with that?" Sirius said, getting up and stretching.
"Well, despite the fact that it is definitely against the rules, everybody's going to think that I slept with you!" Buffy said, sitting down on the edge of the bed and pulling on her boots.
"Technically, you did." Sirius said with a roguish grin.
Buffy threw a pillow at him. Sirius laughed as he tried to dodge it.
"Honestly though, let them think what they want to think," Sirius said, stepping into the bathroom. He left the bathroom door open and Buffy tried not to watch as he shamelessly stripped down before stepping into the shower stall.
"Besides," he called over the running water. "Today's our last day at Hogwarts before the holidays and it's a Hogsmeade day, so I doubt that a lot of people will be down there."
"Dammit," Buffy swore. "I was supposed to go shopping with Andy and Lily after breakfast. I gotta go Sirius, I'll see you later."
"Wait, aren't you going to kiss me goodbye?" he asked sticking his head out of the curtain which really wasn't doing a good job of hiding anything.
Buffy just gave him a look.
"C'mon, just one kiss." Sirius implored.
"You're standing there naked and wet. You really think we're going to stop at one kiss?" Buffy said pointedly.
Sirius thought about for a second before shrugging. "Probably not." He agreed. "Okay, we'll meet up later, but remember you owe me kiss."
"Bye Sirius," Buffy said, rolling her eyes even though she was smiling. It was great to see Sirius in such a playful mood. She was still smiling when she got to the Common Room. Thankfully, the only people who were there were James and Remus.
"Ten gallons says I know why you have a smile on your face." James called, the minute he laid eyes on her.
"Don't even start with me, Potter," Buffy warned.
James ignored her warning. "So on a scale of one to ten, where would you put Padfoot?' he asked.
"James!" Buffy exclaimed, a blush starting to stain her cheeks.
"Don't worry, I promise not to tell him anything." James reassured her.
"Ugh! I can't believe you," Buffy said walking by them to get to the staircase that led to the girls' dormitory.
"Was Padfoot really that bad?" James asked in what would've been an innocent tone if she didn't know him so well.
Buffy whirled around. "James, if you don't zip it right now, the whole school is going to know by the end of the day that you're scared of-"
"Okay, okay, you've made your point." James said hastily.
Remus, who had been staring at the two amusedly, burst out laughing at the expression on James face. "She got you there, Prongs." He said when he finally stopped laughing.
Boys, Buffy fumed. She was going up the stairs to her room when a thought hit her. "Where are the girls?" Buffy asked curiously.
"They already left. Jackson told Malcolm who told Lydia to tell us to tell you that they want you to meet them at Gladrags Wizardwear at noon." Remus said.
"No, no!" James contradicted."Jackson told Malcolm who toldLydia to tell us to tell Sirius to tell you that they want you to meet them at Gladrags Wizardwear at noon."
"That's pretty much what I said, Prongs." Remus said.
"No you said-" James began.
"I got it, James." Buffy interrupted. "That gives me a little more than fifteen minutes to get ready. Aren't you guys going to Hogsmeade too?" she added as an afterthought.
"Yeah, we were just waiting for you to come out of the room so we could get our stuff." James said with a broad grin.
"Oh," Buffy saidbefore going up to her room. She quickly changed from her wrinkled school uniform into a pair of jeans and a white long-sleeved turtleneck. To complete the ensemble, she added a tan leather jacket. She debated whether she should leave her hair down or French braid it but in the end decided to just put it upin a messy ponytail.
She pounded down the stairs and went out the portrait hole.
"You have a nice time now, dearie!" chirped The Fat Lady.
"I will," Buffy called over her shoulder. She decided to stop by The Great Hall to get something to eat before she headed out. There were only a couple of people scattered around the Hall. Out of the corner of her eye, Buffy spied Giles sitting at the Slytherin table reading a book. A smile crossed Buffy's face as she switched directions and headed to the Slytherin table.
"Hey Giles," She said plopping down on the table in front of him. "Whatchya reading?"
Everyone who was in The Great Hall stopped what they were doing to watch the exchange between the blonde Gryffindor and the surly Slytherin with interest.
"Summers," Giles replied. "What are you doing at the Slytherin table?"
"You know, it's funny," Buffy said swinging her foot. "There's this whole 'you should only sit at your own table' mentality but there really isn't any rules against members of different houses sitting at different tables."
"It's hysterical," Giles said dryly. "What do you want?"
"Just to say thanks," Buffy said with a shrug.
Clearly that wasn't what Giles was expecting. "Thanks?" he asked suspiciously. "For what?"
"I know you're the one who sent the owl to the girls. If it wasn't for you, god knows what would've become of me. I probably would've lost my marbles although I pretty sure that some people will tell you that I've already lost them but that's beside the point." Buffy said waving it aside.
"Uh," Giles said, at a loss for words.
"You're supposed to say 'you're welcome, Buffy'," Buffy said with an indulgent smile.
"Um, you're welcome, Buffy," Giles stammered in what he would later deem as a temporary loss of sanity.
"There you go," Buffy said brightly, hopping off the table. She snagged an apple from the fruit basket that was sitting in front of him. "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship."
She walked away leaving Giles looking and feeling completely bewildered.

A/N: Whadya think? I know, I know, I know this does not make up for chapter 14 but I just had to conclude things between Sirius and Buffy before I went on to the holidays (I can't wait!). I hope you guys enjoyed the Sirius/Buffy make up scenes! I know I had a lot of fun writing it. Ooh, btw, in this chapter there's a line (actually it's two lines) that was inspired by the fourth Harry Potter Movie, TGoF. The wording might be different but the idea's the same. Whoever catches it gets a cookie!
