Yes! I got this up when I wanted to! WH-! [thump. fast paced footsteps. Marik comes onto scene holding some type of gun.]
Marik: oh crap. I found out what it does!
Jou: which is?!
Marik: nothing good! [notices readers. looks at gun and puts it behind his back. grins really big/nervously.] Hey, Midnight does not own Yugioh, enjoy! Jou help me with her body!
Chapter 14
Yugi woke up, stretching. Sleeping on a cold hard dirt floor was no picnic. This needed to stop. He was going to end this once and for all. Crawling over to the box, he took out the Journal, and opened it to where he left off. It was time to finish this, no matter how squeamish he became, he was finishing this Journal once and for all.

The witch came around today to warn me about the dangers of messing with dark magic. This isn't dark, what I'm doing isn't dark. It just happens to be a little morally wrong. Yeah, that's it, a little morally wrong. But no harm will come to my little Satin, the book said so. As long as I follow all of its guidelines, no harm will come to her. She's beautiful, Satin, here, I'll put this picture of her in here so you can see my little girl. Only a couple of more weeks and we'll be together again my dear, even if it is for only a few seconds, we'll be together again at last.
Yugi looked at the tarnished and slightly torn picture. Something clicked in his head. He had seen this girl before. But how? She had died generations before he was born. Still, there was that nagging feeling in his mind that he had seen her before. You know the one you get, when you se someone's face but can't put a name to it. Well, Yugi had that feeling right now, only he couldn't put a place to it. He shook his head, and continued reading. Perhaps he would remember later.

I'm uncertain about this. The book says after I bury Satin in the middle of the pentagram, I chant the spell and the one I summon will be able to do my bidding. I translated the spell though, into Japanese and found it to be quite…sinister? Here, this is the spell. I call upon the one of Darkness. May he bring my loved one back. In exchange I give you this young life. May it be a suitable offering for taking you from your world. I call upon the one of Darkness. May my soul satisfy the hunger for the control I place upon thee. I…I don't know about this anymore. Though, the book still says that if I do it right, Satin will remained unharmed. She will be unharmed. I will be able to dig her back up and no one will be the wiser of what I did in my shed. No, I've worked too long and too hard to worry about the words of some spell. Everything is going to be fine. My daughter will be unharmed, and we'll live as a happy family once this is all over.
Yugi realized something after reading this entry. His Grandpa wouldn't have needed the book to do the ritual, and neither did he. Kain had given them everything they needed right here, right in this book. But that could only mean that his Grandpa had read his Father's Journal and tried to send Yami back. Yugi could do it too, but did he really have the courage to take an innocent life after trying to save so many? His eyes travelled down to the next entry.

Satin is 24 pounds now, the length of her hardly matters, it's the weight I'm concerned about. She needs to gain another pound, and then she'll be perfect. The perfect offering for the one of Darkness. This is all going smoothly. Just a couple of more days. Soon, very soon now I'll be able to see you dear, very soon now.
August 30, 1923
My darling Satin is perfect. 25 pounds, 72 inches long, and 26 inches wide. She will fit perfectly in the box. Tomorrow, tomorrow dear we'll be together again. Tomorrow night. I'm excited. This is going to work, it will work.
Yugi growled in frustration. It never said what had happened. It just went on to September. He needed to know what happened on the 31st of August though. That was where this mystery was solved, with what happened in the shed on the 31st. What went wrong?

I've made a terrible mistake, and now there is no way to undo it. My daughter is dead, my wife…I never saw her, and I've released a demon onto this town. Though, he claims he is not a demon but a being of Darkness, from a world called the Shadow Realm. It sounds as sinister as the one I sacrificed my daughter to. There is perhaps one way to fix the mistake I've made, but it will take great courage from the one referred to as Love. If Love dies, then the town will be free, and the demon I summoned will hence for exist here. He will perhaps go home. I never saw Love though, only he did, the demon. How do I find Love? Where do I even start?
Love? Wasn't that what Yami called him? Love. Did he create that nickname for him that night? Was he there? Yugi figured anything was possible at this point. Looking down, he saw one last entry.

Things have gone from bad to worse. He's come after me, and I hid myself and my son in this shed. He, for some reason, cannot come in here. Like this is the safe spot in a game called tag. Perhaps if I give him my life he will spare my son. Pray, my family forgives me for my cowardice, but I hope this will spare my heir, truly I do. Goodbye.
So that was it. He just walked into the face of death to save Grandpa? Maybe Kain was braver than he thought. Yugi was unsure if he would ever have the courage to do that. Walk into an unknown death to save another. But wasn't that what he had been doing for the past week or so, in a way at least? When he had gone chasing after Yami to save people he knew he could no longer save, but tried to anyway? Tried and failed in each attempt.
He needed the last death, and what happened that night. Preferably in the opposite order of what he just thought. Sighing, Yugi figured it was only a matter of time until he had to come out of hiding. Kain had been right though, this was the safe spot in tag. It made him wonder as to why though.
Yugi took a deep breath before exiting the shed, determined to find his Great-Grandfather. Yami is who he found first though. Standing there, studying him in a curious way, like he had the night that Rebecca died. Yugi dusted some invisible dirt off his sleeve before making his way past him.
"Is this going to be a habit of yours?" Yami asked.
"Is what?" Yugi replied still walking on.
"Sleeping in the shed. In the one place I cannot reach you."
"It just might be. Depends on how much longer you're here for."
"How much longer I'm here for?" Yami asked in a confused voice.
"Yes, I intend to get rid of you in the next couple of days. I intend to send you home." Yugi said looking back at him.
"Good, because you're the only one who can." Yami said giving his locket a little flick. Yugi grasped it and backed away from him.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Love. If you say you want to send me home, you're the only I believe who can actually follow up on that."
"Why do you call me that?"
"Love? Because it's what has kept me here for so long, your love for your family."
"I don't have any family. They're all gone, I'm the only one left."
"Lucky me. Then the line shall end with you and your death. Then I shall go home, and all this horror shall be nothing more than a legend that the town's people will tell their children to frighten them into listening." Yami said cupping his cheek. Yugi smacked the hand away and continued his way into the house. He cut down Rebecca and hurried upstairs to change his clothes. It was going to be a long day.
Yugi: i can't believe you shot her with a tranquilizer gun. you actually shot her with it.
Marik: quit your yapping and start thinking of ways to wake her faster.
Malik: readers!
Yami: [quickly draws a curtain cutting off readers view from Midnight] Hey, did you enjoy your short chappie? notes, i need notes.
Atem: I FOUND THEM!
Yami: give them here! [grabs notes out of his hands] not this one, or this one, aha! ahem! Midnight thinks you, her readers are weird. she updates one story and you all review for different one. honestly, she's just curious if it'll happen again.
Yugi: what does the M by it mean?
Atem: maybe she'll say this. oops!
Yami: ah, right. Midnight would like to thank everyone for being patient and waiting for this chapter. Also for reviewing because she really likes those, they make her giddy. The favorites and follows she thanks you for those as well. Did i get it all?
Yugi: yeah we covered the basics of what the bottom of these things look like.
Atem: please review. Midnight, Marik, Yugi, Atem, Yami, Malik.
Malik: why am i last?
Yugi: bye! ;p
