Greetings, all, yes I have missed you as well. I am just going to assume that you missed me, so just go with it. This story is probably the hardest story to write for, however I do not want to give up on it, since it was my first and I like it a lot. Well, I mustn't dilly or dally, and should just get on with the story.
Presents
"I don't know," Raizo mumbled to Mika, feeling uncomfortable about the topic of the conversation. Though to be honest it seemed to be one of Mika's favorite past times, to make him uncomfortable.
"What do you mean you don't?" Mika looked at her ninja over her phone, where she had the calendar opened.
"I don't know when my birthday is," Raizo looked his companion in the eye with a blank expression on his face.
"How is that possible?"
"Mika, I was kidnapped as a child led to believe that I was left abandoned and that Ozunu saved me and I should be grateful. I was too young and traumatized to even remember an exact date. The man trained killers, why would you think we would celebrate birthdays, let alone acknowledge them."
"Oh, I am so sorry, Raizo, I don't know why I am so dense not to realize that," Mika said, touching his hand, and feeling genuinely dumb for not connecting those pieces earlier. "I can manage to track down a hidden ninja clan, but not read social cues."
"Don't say those things, Mika, in a normal life, one would expect to know those things. I am just not normal."
"No, you're not," Mika said with a smile. "You are amazing."
Raizo smiled at Mika's ability to turn anything negative into a positive and make people feel great about themselves.
"Well, since you do not know, why don't we just pick a date? Why not today?" Mika said excitedly.
"Mika, that is not necessary," Raizo said, trying to ward of what he knew what was inevitably one of Mika's 'great ideas.'
"Non-sense, everybody deserves to have a day just for them, they can be as selfish as they want and the people around them get to remember why they are in their lives. You are part of that, so from now on October 21 is your Birthday." Mika got up from the table, after entering the date into her phone, to head toward the refrigerator, where they kept a calendar, and wrote in huge letters, 'Raizo's Birthday.'
"Fine, Mika, if you insist," Raizo said with defeat, though if he was being honest, it made him happy that she cared so much.
"So, birthday boy, what do you want for your birthday?" Mika returned back to Raizo standing right in front of him.
"I don't need anything for my birthday."
"Raizo, you are behind for too many years to count, if anyone deserves a present for your birthday it is you. Now tell me what you want and I will give it to you."
Raizo opened his mouth to protest then stopped as he looked up into Mika's face and a thought came across his mind.
"Anything I want?" Raizo said, rising to his feet.
"Yes."
"Well, what I want is you, naked, on our bed," Raizo said, as he started to pulling Mika by her shirt as he backed out of the kitchen.
"I think I can get that for you."
To Be Continued,
Well how was that? I mean come one how can Raizo not want anything else for his birthday.
