Chapter 14 – Niou's Epic Prank

Gathering his troops (read forced helpers) at midnight on a Saturday night outside the gates of Rikkai Dai, Niou instructed them all to follow him towards destiny, or into the car Atobe lent him. The prankster had to have something on the Hyotei buchou in order to get a car and driver, but no one knew what it was. All together the team consisted of Niou, Yagyuu, Jackal, Marui, and Jirou (who was sent by Atobe as part of the Hyotei contribution, however, rumor had it that Jirou volunteered and bugged Atobe until he was allowed to go and spend the night, uh time, with his idol, Marui).

The car pulled to a stop in front of their destination and once everyone was out of the car, Jackal face palmed, "NO! Oh hell no!"

"You already agreed to this. There's no backing out now. Unless you want me to become Bakaya's best friend?" Niou blinked innocently, but there was no innocence found in his eyes, on his face, hell there was probably no more childish innocence in his entire body.

"NO!" Jackal and Marui yelled together and were immediately shushed. Apparently Niou had used the same blackmail to get the redheaded tensai to help him as he did Jackal: help or he becomes best friends with Kirihara and makes the second year his apprentice. Shuddering at the thought, the two close friends dropped their heads and nodded. They would follow through with the plan.

"Why are we here?" Jirou asked confused hanging onto one of his favorite people.

"We're here to give them a surprise," Niou grinned.

Eyes widening, smiling brightening, Jirou gasped, "Really?"

"Really," the silver headed prankster nodded.

Jirou started to jump around and take Marui with him, "Yay! We get to give them a surprise!"

Everyone, except Niou, sweat dropped. Did he really have no clue, or did the sleeping beauty of Hyotei really not get it. How was he even awake? To answer that question, Atobe let Jirou sleep all day without interruption (not that he doesn't normally), loaded him up on sugar, and gave him a four pack of Monsters and told them to drink them all; finally, he gave him another four pack and told him to drink them over the period of time he would be with Niou. In fact, the driver handed a letter to Niou instructing him on just these very items with the threat that if they were caught or left Jirou behind, Niou was a dead man. Normally this would not phase the silverette, but considering Jirou would probably be the first person to blab, Niou would make sure to keep an eye on the Hyotei player.

After assigning tasks to everyone, the team jumped the fence and went to work. Each person had a partner and something that they were assigned to do. This was to be one of Niou's biggest pranks of the year and he wanted to be sure it was pulled off without a hitch. Of course he would not be able to gain the reward until the following Monday, which meant waiting more than 24 hours, but if they pulled the job off on Sunday night, then no one would show up for school on Monday and he didn't want Yukimura to kill him just yet. He still had some fun stuff to accomplish.

He let his team work on the outside, while he worked on the inside with Yagyuu. It was a good thing that Niou had a cousin who taught him how to pick locks and override a security system (or at least that was the rumor). How else did he manage to get inside the building? Once inside, he found the classrooms he needed and he and Yagyuu left their mark… or the chosen mark of the night. Then they made their way up to the roof and left a little present with a timer. It was set to go off when the morning bell rang on Monday. Once that was accomplished, they made their way out of the building and Niou reset the alarm.

At the tennis courts, the other team members were finishing up Niou's masterpiece. When the team arrived for morning practice, they would get the surprise of their lives (let's just say it's a good thing everything would wash off… with some water and maybe a little bit of scrubbing).

Once complete, the prankster's team threw their supplies over the wall and escaped without being detected. How they managed that one, no one to this days knows, but no one saw them. Getting into the car, they drove away ready to take a shower and climb into their own beds. Monday morning would dawn soon enough and there was not going to be any way to miss what had been done to that school.

Monday Morning…

Reports flew in and Yukimura's cell phone was ringing off the hook, and so were the cells of the other two demons. What was going on here? Answering the phone, the bluenette said, "Moshi moshi."

"Yukimura, what is the meaning of this?" The voice on the other end demanded to know.

"Tezuka? What are you talking about?"

"There is a Rikkai Dai banner hanging from our school roof, actually there are four, one for each side. Our tennis courts have been painted yellow and the fences are red, in the middle of one of the courts is the Rikkai Dai logo. On two others are the words 'puri' and 'piyo'. I don't even know what that means. What is the meaning of doing this to our school?"

Finding his silver haired tennis player running laps, Yukimura called Niou over, "What did you do to Seigaku?"

Niou smirked, "Nothing, puri."

"I will find your accomplices. I'm sure a little one on one time with me will get them talking," Yukimura threatened.

Shrugging, the silverette told him, "Try it. I don't think you will find anything."

That was where Niou was wrong. His deal with Jackal and Marui only said they had to help him. It didn't include keeping their mouths shut when approached by the blue haired buchou. They didn't want to go to the rumored torture chamber and by spilling, they avoided that and Yukimura would make sure Niou never got within 50 feet of Kirihara.

Once he found out everything, the bluenette had to keep his laughter it. It kind of served Seigaku right for beating them, and in this Rikkai Dai got retribution, but he would never say that to the other buchou. The tennis courts were indeed painted the Rikkai Dai team's colors, and the banners were hung from the roof. They did not unfurl until Monday morning so that no one would remove them before their time. One of the banners did not work, at least not when scheduled. Later that day, around lunch time, another banner exploded and set off some fireworks. Looking towards the roof, a banner unfolded that said, "Rikkai Dai is #1!" In the classrooms, the boards had a special message for all the Seigaku regulars, "We will beat you at nationals! Revenge is ours!" Unfortunately, this message was written with permanent marker and would not come off. They all had to be replaced. Seigaku would have normally had Rikkai Dai pay for the damages, but there was no actual proof that a student from Rikkai Dai did the deed. In fact, the only thing they found were a couple of Monster cans littering the tennis courts. Inui's DNA test showed that the drinker belonged to a Hyotei student, and there was no way Hyotei would do something like this. What was Jirou even doing at Seigaku over the weekend?

All in all it appeared as if Niou was going to get away with his prank free and clear, but that was not the case. Seigaku may not be able to prove anything, but Yukimura knew and Niou was going to be very tired for the rest of the year with all the extra laps, cleaning duty, and science/math tutoring he would be doing for Kirihara (with supervision of course). However, after dishing out Niou's punishment, the bluenette laughed after the silverette was gone and mumbled, "Good work Niou. Rikkai Dai is number 1!" If you are wondering about the others… they got a few extra laps (50 or so), but nothing compared to Niou (1000 isn't a lot is it?).

It was a prank that was talked about for years after and although everyone knew it was Niou Masaharu, no one could actually prove it. And after that night, Jackal never helped Niou ever again. "NO" was the only word he used with the silver haired prankster of Rikkai Dai.
