I do not own young justice.

Blue's civilian outfit is on profile minus bag.

Nice long chapter for ya because I think this episode is awesome!

Mount Justice.

October 16, 16:01.

They watched as six members of the League are killed and Zatara called Red Tornado to join the remaining members of the League to the field.

Their den mother turned to the Team. "I must join the League, we will protect the plant at all costs, but if we fail the responsibility falls to you." He told them.

"We stand ready." Kaldur promised.

Wally nearly choked as he watched Iris and Barry both fall to the invasion on CBS news before it switched to Taipei where more devastation was going on.

"Ladies and gentlemen we've lost Black Canary, Green Arrow and the Hawks. The heroes reported dead or missing include Batman, Icon Atom and Aqua Man."

Minutes later a message was relayed to them. "Red Tornado to Cave, I fear I am the only thing left of the League…"

It cut out.

Red Tornado was gone.

"We are earth's heroes now." Kaldur said.

"So what are we waiting for theme song?" Conner asked.

"A strategy, earth's weapons are ineffective. And it has been made tragically clear a direct attack will not succeed."

"Checking Satellite imagery." Robin said and a hologram of the earth appeared in front of them red clusters on it. "There's where the aliens are now."

"This one get lost?" Conner asked pointing to a lone dot in the Arctic.

"That's Superman's fortress of solitude."
"Superman has a fortress of solitude?"
"Its power source must have attracted the alien. At least enough to send a scout ship to investigate."

"Most be some fortress."

"Conner…" M'gann said.

"No it's okay. I guess there's a lot about Superman I'll never know."

"We will target this lone ship."

"Yeah! Break it down, build more hit those ugly aliens with their own mojo ow!" Wally said as Artemis hit him.

"Martian and Kryptonian in the house."

Conner and M'gann just stared at Wally.

"Uh not that all aliens are automatically ugly." Wally said uneasy.

-THE ARCTIC-

The lone ship hovered outside the fortress as the team dressed in winter gear snuck around it.

M'gann used her telekinesis to rip apart its communication systems.

"Disabled." She told them as it crashed into the snow.

Blue rolled out from behind a heap of snow and her eyes flashed blue as she forced its wings apart. "Disabled."

Artemis shot an arrow at the hatch. "And ET's are sealed inside."

The remaining members of the team got onto the ship Kaldur nearly getting disintegrated but was blocked by wolf and Conner held it steady while Robin discovered the weapons connection to the ship for M'gann to sever.

Conner attempted to pull it off but as he did something shot, something that should have destroyed Conner but he was saved…

And another was disintegrated.

"Wolf…" M'gann whispered.

"There was no indication there'd be feedback…I'm sorry." Robin said.

"Can't do anything for him now." Conner sighed. "Let's go."

He pulled the weapon antenna off and jumped onto a cloaked Bio-Ship.

"Reintegrating into the ships bio-metrics going to need to de-camouflage for a few minutes."
"We don't have a few minutes." Robin said as two more ships came flying through the air.

"M'gann open fire!"
"I can't weapon systems are offline to integrated the new cannon and that's now ready yet either."

"Got you covered! Get inside!" Artemis shouted as she let loose one arrow that destroyed a ship. "I'm almost there."

"Artemis no!" Blue shouted as the next ship went to fire and she ran hoping to find a way to block it but she didn't get there in time.

Artemis was gone.

"ARTEMIS!" Both girls shouted.

"ARTEMIS!" Wally said next.

"Get inside all of you!" Kaldur shouted charging his water bearers and destroying the second ship.

"They're dead! Every single alien if it's the last thing I do!" Wally vowed.

-BIO-SHIP-

The silence was deafening except for M'gann's tears.

Wally was growling shouting in anger at the loss of their archer.

"There will be time to mourn later, now we have to make sure that Artemis' loss was not in vain."
"So the Cave?" M'gann asked.

"No, the Hall of Justice, the humans need to know that there are still heroes, that there's still hope."

Upon arrival in DC they did have to destroy three alien ships…

"I'm not Superman." Conner growled to two soldiers who'd been fighting against the invasion who'd thought him the Big Guy himself.

The door to the Bio-Ship opened and the soldiers cheered at the sight of heroes.

"I don't care who you are." Their commander said. "But right I don't care; you wear the crest so you got the job."

"I'm not Superman." He said again.

"Tell that to the enemy. General Reid Eiling, US air force." He said to them.

"Aqualad," Their leader nodded. "Justice League we'll help you salvage as many of the alien's cannons as possible. And then we start taking back what is ours."

-HALL OF JUSTICE-

The statues of their mentors had crumbled as they stared at the place that was once a beckon of hope.

"They're really gone." Robin said as M'gann cried at the statue of Martian Manhunter.

Blue looked at Bleu Illusion's place. "I don't even know what happened to him…he could back at any time and find the world in ruin…or he could dead already…"

M'gann suddenly used her power to lift a rock up and throw it away.

"Uncle J'onn!" She cried in happiness.

He was…alive?

"M'gann wait! Check his mind make sure he is who he says he is!"

"It's him, he's real!"

"How did he get here? We saw him get disintegrated!"

"Yes I do remember that but…my head…"

"Maybe you were density shifting and the beam just passed through you!" M'gann smiled.

"That still doesn't explain how he got here." Conner said.

"No...I don't remember that but I know there is something I was supposed to tell you…" He said.

"Wait I know!" Wally said before zooming outside and Robin and Blue followed him.

He ordered Robin to scan the cannon and see if there was Zeta-Beam radiation there.

There was.

"See I knew it! The cannon doesn't disintegrate it teleports!"
"Maybe but…" Robin began.

"No maybes they're all alive!"

"That must have been what you wanted to tell us!" M'gann said excitedly to her Uncle and the rest telepathically.

"Er guys…we've got a problem." Blue's voice sounded their heads as the sounds of an approaching fleet met their ears.

A fleet of alien space ships.

"We're on our way…" Kaldur told them.

"Negative, we can't win this M'gann camouflage the ship…"

The ship almost on que was destroyed by a cannon and the two Martian's fell back in pain as M'gann's psychic connection with her Bio-Ship was severed.

"M'gann!" Conner cried picking her up.

She stared up with tears in her eyes. "I…didn't…feel it."

"We're following back!" Robin told them as they ran into the Hall of Justice.

"We're trapped." Eiling said.

"Maybe not." Blue stated eyes flashing and the doors to the library where the original five sidekicks had met and Roy had walked out opened.

"We can all Zeta to the Cave if you grant us computer clearance to access the tubes." Kaldur nodded as they ran through.

"I can only authorize one at a time."

"Send the soldiers first."

"Negative! You seven are something we can't afford to lose." Eiling disagreed.

Reluctantly they nodded and Martian Manhunter gave them clearance to go through.

"Miss Martian B-06."

"Robin B-01."

"Kid Flash B-03." The first three stepped through and Blue was pushed up by Conner.

"You next."

"Bleubell B-04."

Boom, the doors to the library which had been resealed were blown open and Conner ran to engage it.

"I can help…" Blue began.

"No! The Team need you."
"But Aqua-" She didn't get time to finish….

Kaldur grabbed Blue and threw her into the Zeta-tube and she beamed away.

-THE CAVE-

"Our next mission is obvious. If we believe the aliens have been teleporting their victims…"

"We do." Wally cut in.

"Then the obvious detention facility is here…" Robin said and the picture came up on screen.

"The Mother Ship on top of what used to be Smallville. Ring any bells?"

Martian Manhunter shook his head. "No. I'm sorry."
"Superboy, you'll create a distraction…"
"No! He's offering you as a sacrifice!" She said to Conner. "Aqualad would never do that."

"You're right; Aqualad would sacrifice himself, a mistake that just cost us our leader. Superboy is most likely to be perceived as a threat, motivating the aliens to deploy."

"Worst case, he's teleported inside! And we set him free along with Artemis and uh…Aqualad and everyone." Wally said.

"It's okay M'gann…it's what Superman would do." He told her through their link.

"But first…we need to spread some hope." Blue said. "Robin get every line of communication you can…the world has to know there is people still fighting."

He nodded.

"…And though all seems lost the one thing the aliens cannot destroy is hope." M'gann spoke as people from all corners of the world tuned in.

"Hope survives because the battle is not over! Not along as even one of us are willing to fight!" Conner cut in with passion lighting fire in everyone who watched soul.

"It doesn't matter how many will fall, because new heroes will always rise to carry on, bringing all their resources, their skills, their talents to bear to defeat the enemy." Wally said as people like Rocket, Zatanna, Red Arrow even Garth and Tula arrived to join the fight.

"The people of earth will survive this! We will rebuild and we will thrive!" Robin swore with absolute certainty speaking as if directly to every person in every shelter around the world.

"We are resilient and we are strong, no matter what as long as there is a breath in our bodies we will fight to protect, and we will win! Have faith, stay safe…" Blue vowed to the people of her world clicking the black belt full of 'Plan B' that Robin had given her around her waist.

"Never doubt and never forget, the Earth will never surrender!" They finished together before the people's screens went black.

And all around the world….

People rejoiced,

People had faith,

People believed in their Team of heroes.

-SMALLVILLE-

Blue and Robin had been placed together as he spied on the Mother Ship.

"Stay close to J'onn." Robin told M'gann. "He's still…"

She nodded.

"First team deploy!" Robin ordered and the Martians took flight cloaking themselves.

'Ready in position…..be careful Conner.' M'gann said telepathically then said to him and him alone 'I love you…'

He looked at Robin who nodded and he leaped from their hiding place and proceeded to do some damage.

"Careful! Don't disconnect the power source!" Robin ordered via their link.

Ships were deployed opening hatches into the ship.

Wally held Robin and Blue's hand and speeded the three of them through the hatch and into the ship.

It was in there M'gann and J'onn would meet up with the three of them and they'd go running down the halls of the ship.

M'gann fell back suddenly. "No…he's gone.."

She dropped to her knees.

"It's alright. We'll find him with Artemis." Wally vowed.

"No." J'onn said. "My mind is clearer now. Disintegration beam is exactly that there is no detention facility, no prisoners to rescue, our mission holds no purpose."

Wally stood up clenching his fists.

"No you're wrong the Zeta Radiation proves she's alive she can't be…"

Robin grabbed him away from Martian Manhunter and held onto him. "Stop it KF. I've been scanning for League and a Team signal since we got inside…they're not here, Artemis is gone."

"But our mission still holds purpose." The Boy Wonder explained. "To destroy this Mother Ship."

He let Wally go and started to walk down the hall, Blue at his side.

"You know what we got to do right?" He said.

"I know, I'm okay...you?"
"Yeah I'll be…fine I guess."

She nodded.

The other three caught up to them and they started to run again the mechanical doors opening and they were faced with the Power Core.

"We blow this and the whole this goes." They nodded and set about their jobs.

The power of the core caused Robin to slip and Blue dived to catch him but they both went over, him saying them by shooting a rope from his utility belt before M'gann safely lifted them down, Wally following because she levitated him down.

Robin took off the extra belt he'd brought that was full of explosives.

Blue took hers off as well and laid it on the ground.

"You knew…" Wally said. "Both of you, you knew why we were here all along."

"Four minutes." Was all Robin said timing the bombs to go off. "Let's get out of here."

M'gann levitated them out and Wally grabbed their wrists speeding them through the ship but the hatch closed before they could get there.

"Great…Blue can you?"

She touched the wall and concentrated…her eyes glowed but her face crunched up in pain and she pulled her hand away from it.

"It…it threw me out…" She said in disbelief staring at her hand. "The Ship through me out of its database…I can't open the door."

"Sixteen seconds and counting." Robin said. "Martian Manhunter take M'gann and go."

"No we won't leave you!" M'gann said.

"That's an order!" Robin told them. "We'll follow as soon we blow those doors."

Slowly but reluctantly they nodded and cloaked themselves again.

The clock hit ten seconds.

"You guys have been the best brothers a girl could ever ask for."

They nodded and turned to the aliens that were closing in on them.

They were going out fighting.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One…

Everything went black.

Mount Justice.

October 16, 16:21.

Blue slowly sat up panting.

M'gann bolted up. "You're all alive!" She said to her team eyes shining.

"What happened in there?" Batman asked Martian Manhunter.

"The exercise, it all went wrong." He said.

"Exercise?" Robin asked.

"Try to remember."

They thought back, though it did hurt a bit.

"What you experienced was a training exercise, Manhunter psychically linked all of you within an artificial reality, what you didn't know was that it was a train for failure exercise. No matter what the team accomplished it was designed to only get worse, still you were ware that none of it was real! Including the deaths of the entire Justice League." Batman said.

"That is why you hardly grieved." J'onn told them. "Even when Wolf was disintegrated before your eyes, but all that changed when Artemis died, though consciously Miss Martian knew it was not real her subconscious mind could not make that distinction and forgot it was only an exercise, her subconscious took control making all of you forget too." He explained and his niece looked totally shocked.

"Uh I…I'm so sorry…"
"This isn't her fault!" Conner shouted angrily. "Why didn't you stop the exercise but M'gann had a death grip on the scenario. Even Artemis who should have awakened after her death was so convinced she had passed she slipped into a coma. I realised I would have to relinquish control from Miss Martian's mind from within but upon entering the reality I was overwhelmed by your collective emotion…there was too much noise to think clearly. To remember why I was there. The deaths of Aqualad and Superboy helped but only when the Mother Ship exploded and Robin, Kid Flash and Bleubell's emotions was silenced that my mind cleared enough for me to remember my true purpose to shock M'gann out of the exercise before your comas became permanent." He explained. "My apologises, I had no idea a training exercise could be so dangerous….so damaging."

M'gann sobbed into Captain Marvel's chest and Manhunter turned to the League.
"As bad as all that?" Batman asked.

"Worse, my niece is untrained and cannot be held accountable for this."
"No one blames her. It seems we underestimated M'gann's abilities."

"You under seemed, in terms of raw power she has the strongest telepathic mind I have ever seen. Stronger by far, then mine."
