Black Caesar: First thanks for all of the reviews, I was not aware of some of those facts. Now I'll try to answer everything but feel free to pm me if you need to. 1) I don't know what you mean by revealing two tailed beast attacks. 2) Naruto will get a boost in power but, only for wind though because he does not have a fire affinity. No unique trait yet, I decided it comes with more tail use. 3) I want Kurama to be a guy and not all anime follows folklore so that's happening, sorry. 4) Naruto has the bloodline, I just didn't bring it up yet.

=============== Uzumaki Compound, Konoha ==========
Naruto stretched as he slapped his alarm and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Getting out of bed and putting on his clothes he headed down to the kitchen for breakfast and found a note on the table. He looked it over and read that Hayate had a meeting but would see him when he got back; Naruto was a little sad because he missed Hayate last night and wanted to tell him about his mission. Letting out a sigh he went about making his meal and eat ate a slow pace, once finished he cleaned the dishes and grabbed his gear before heading out the door towards his team training ground. He wasn't sure if the team was meeting today but figured it wouldn't hurt to try there first.
Making the quick trip across the village Naruto found the training ground empty and frowned; now he had to go find them. Making the smart choice Naruto went to Shikamaru's house first, the odds of the lazy Genin being home were better than Ino. The Nara compound was similar to his, surrounded by trees for the family deer to live in and well shaded so the members could relax outside, Naruto was sure laziness was a genetic trait for them. Naruto knocked on the main door and heard shouting after a few seconds, he couldn't make out the words but it was a female. The door opened to reveal Shikamaru in a shirt and some shorts, looking somewhat annoyed and surprised to see his teammate.
"Hey when did you get back?" Shikamaru asked through a yawn.
"Yesterday afternoon, went by the training field but when I didn't see anyone I came to see what's up." Naruto said with a chuckle.
"Asuma-sensei said he had a meeting this morning but were going to meet him at one in the training field." Shikamaru said as he scratched his stomach.
"Hmm alright." Naruto said with a sigh, he wanted to get some training but knew Shikamaru would just complain the whole time if he was dragged outside so he left.
The Uzumaki decided to walk around the village and see if anyone was out that he knew, not knowing their training schedules it was the best option he had.
================ Jounin Meeting Room ===========
While Naruto walked about Konoha all of the Jounin, and many of the experienced Chunin, in the village stood in a large room. In the front of them was a large stone deck atop a platform so that whoever sat behind it could look over everyone in the room. Currently Hiruzen sat with a stack of papers on the side of his desk and another with all of the current Genin teams in front of him. Looking out he made sure that at least all of the Team leaders were here before clearing his voice for everyone to be quiet.
"I'm sure you all can guess why we are here today." Hiruzen stated as he watched the crowd.
"It's already that time." Kakashi said somewhat surprised at the news.
"I've already seen some of the villages candidates here." A Jounin chewing on a toothpick said next to Kakashi. "When is it Hokage-sama?"
"We begin in one week." Hiruzen paused for the shinobi to let it sink in and get out comments before holding his hand up for silence. "Now I want to hear from the new sensei's first."
Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai all walked forward and stood before the Hokage.
"All of your teams have meet the requirements so I ask if you think any of them are ready to take the Chunin Exams." Hiruzen picked up his pen and looked to Kakashi. "We will start with you Kakashi."
"As leader of Team Seven I, Kakashi Hayate, nominate Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno and Kiba Inuzuka for the Chunin Exams." Kakashi said in a serious voice, many of the people present didn't react but Iruka looked surprised at Kakashi, before he could say anything though Kurenai spoke.
"As leader of Team Eight I, Kurenai Yuhi, nominate Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuga and Choji Akimichi for the Chunin Exams."
"As Leader of Team Ten I, Asuma Sarutobi, nominate Naruto Uzumaki, Shikamaru Nara and Ino Yamanaka for the Chunin Exams."
"Hmm all three teams. How rare." Hiruzen said as he made a not on his paper. He was glad Naruto was getting a chance to take the test and while not surprised Sasuke would be nominated didn't know all the teams were prepared, at least their sensei's thought they were.
"Hold on a second!" Hiruzen looked up to see Iruka looking angry and stepping forward from the group.
"Yes Iruka?" Hiruzen asked even though he had a good idea of what was causing the man's anger.
"Hokage-sama please let me have a word." Before Hiruzen cold speak Iruka moved forward to stand just behind the three sensei's. "I have taught all nine of these Genin and while they are talented it's too early for them to take the Exam. They need more experience, I don't understand their reasoning for nominating them." Iruka finished as he pointed to the three Jounin in front of him.
"I became a Chunin when I was younger then all of them." Kakashi said lazily, more to get a rise out of Iruka then to prove a point.
"There not you!" Iruka screamed at Kakashi. "Are you trying to crush them, the Chunin Exam is not a game!"
"Well their always complaining about missions, they need to experience some pain." Kakashi said and then gave a thoughtful look. "Crushing them could be fun."
"WHAT!" Iruka screamed, shocked at Kakashi's casual tone. The others present all realized however it was a joke and chuckled.
"Oh calm down Iruka I was only joking." Kakashi said as he waved off the man. "But you need to realize these Genin are no longer your students but our shinobi."
"Enough!" Hiruzen yelled, getting everyone's attention. "Iruka your opinion is noted however it is up to the team leaders to decide when there team is ready."
Iruka gripped his hand in anger but stayed silent as he walked back to his spot. The others all stayed quiet, while not all of them disagreed with Iruka they knew their opinion's didn't matter in this scenario.
================== Konoha Streets ==============
Naruto let out a sigh as he walked towards Ichiraku's, he still had not found anything to do and figured lunch was in order to lift his spirits. His soon to be happy mood was ruined when he suddenly heard a startled cry, rushing around the corner Naruto came upon an odd sight. First was a boy, probably near his age, in a black, baggy, full body suit with a red and yellow circle on the front. He also wears a black hood which covered his head completely, and had cat-like ears and his forehead protector on his forehead. He had his face painted and had a large bundle on his back.
The boy was holding a smaller boy by his shirt off the ground, the child had short spiky brown hair and black eyes. He wore a yellow shirt with the Konoha symbol in red, grey shorts, and a long blue scarf along with a grey helmet that had an orange frowning face on the right side, a red circle on the left side, and had a hole at the top for his hair to stick out of. Naruto recognized this boy; it was Konohamaru the Hokage's grandson. While he had never met the boy Naruto had seen pictures of him on the Hokage's desk.
Yelling at the older boy was two small children that looked to be Konohamaru's age. One was a girl with orange hair tied up, with red elastics, into two very large pigtails. She wore a red tank-top over a pink t-shirt layered at the bottom; her pants are grey and she wears the traditional ninja sandals. Behind her was a boy with short brown hair and dark eyes and wore a simple blue shirt which zipped up the middle, a pair of brown pants, sandals. Naruto didn't know who they were but guessed they were Konohamaru's friends.
Finally was a girl, also his age, standing to the side of the black clothed boy and looking annoyed. She wore a single light purple-colored, off-the-shoulders garment that extended to halfway down her thighs, with a scarlet sash tied around her waist. In addition to incorporating fishnet worn over her shoulders and legs, specifically on her right calf and her left thigh, she also wore her black forehead protector around her neck. Her blonde hair was pulled back into four ponytails and she had a large fan strapped to her back. Naruto noticed that both the shinobi his age were wearing sand village headbands on them and was curious as to why they were here.
"Just let him go." Shouted the orange haired girl.
"Not until I teach this little punk some manners." Said the boy in black, Naruto assumed from that remark that Konohamaru had run into the boy and thus angered him.
"Just let him go Kankurō." The blonde girl told her companion. "Will get yelled at later if you cause trouble."
"It will only take a second." Kankurō said with an evil grin.
"Whatever, I'm not involved in this." The blonde girl said as she let out a sigh and turned slightly to the side. Naruto saw the boy, Kankurō, pull his fist back and prepare to punch Konohamaru so he decided to step in.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Naruto said as he walked onto the scene and stood in front of the other two children, who both looked at him with surprise.
"Why is that?" Kankurō asked while narrowing his eyes at the newcomer. "Let me guess if I hit him I'll be sorry. Please what are you going to do about it?"
"Me? Nothing." Everyone looked shocked by Naruto's statement and the small hope Konohamaru had that someone would save him died. "But I'm sure that the village ANBU will step in once you take a swing."
"Why would they do that?" Kankurō asked, he didn't believe the boy but was casually looking around for anyone.
"The little punk, as you call him, just so happens to be our Hokage's grandson." That statement caused both Sand-nin's eyes to widen. "And I don't think he or the ANBU would like for foreign shinobi attacking civilians, especially ones related to our leader."
"You're lying." Kankurō said though he was extremely nervous now, the girl behind him was also backing up from him more. Naruto smirked and held his hands out wide.
"Well if you want to test your luck be my guest." He watched as the boy looked from him to Konohamaru and back obviously trying to decide what to do. It was in that moment of hesitation a rock flew from the trees and hit Kankurō in the wrist, making him drop Konohamaru. The child fell to the ground but quickly scrambled behind Naruto to his friends.
"Ow what the hell." Kankurō said as he grabbed his wrist and looked up in the trees to see Sasuke squatting on a branch tossing another rock in his hand.
"Get lost." Sasuke said casually, getting an annoyed growl from Kankurō before he pulled of his bundle and placed it next to him.
"You're going to use Karasu?" the blonde girl asked from behind him surprised.
"Kankurō stop." A voice said from behind Sasuke, causing the Uchiha to whirl around. Standing upside down on a limb above him was a boy. He had short red hair, teal eyes with black rings around them, like a tanuki, and the kanji for love on his forehead. He had on a black full body suit with t-shirt-like sleeves, ¾-length legs, and an open neck. With this, he wore a white cloth over his right shoulder and the left side of his hips, and a wide leather band system over the left shoulder and right side of his hips. Like his companions he had something strapped to his back, a large gourd. "You're an embarrassment to the village. Losing control of yourself in a fight, how pathetic. Do you remember why we came here?"
"Listen Gaara they started this…." Kankurō started saying and Naruto could hear fear in his voice, the girl also looked scared of the newcomer.
"Shut up or I'll kill you." The boy called Gaara said, the leaf Genin noticed Kankurō flinch back and gulp.
"Ok, I'm sorry." Kankurō said quickly with a small bow. Gaara looked over at Sasuke before disappearing in a swirl of sand and appearing next to his companions.
"Let's go." Gaara said to his companions and turned to leave, with them hot on his heels.
"Hold on." Sasuke called out as he leapt to the ground. "What are Sand shinobi doing here?"
"We are here for the Chunin Exams." The girl said, Naruto rolled his eyes when he noticed she blushed slightly looking at Sasuke.
"Didn't know that was happing so soon." Naruto replied as he moved next to Sasuke. "Will see you there." Naruto said with a grin while Sasuke smirked at his remark.
"What are your names?" Gaara asked as he turned back to face Sasuke and Naruto.
"Naruto Uzumaki."
"Sasuke Uchiha, and you?" Sasuke asked, he was curious about the Genin because not many could sneak up on him.
"Gaara of the Desert." The redhead said as he turned back again and left.
"Looks like this is going to be a fun exam." Naruto said as he nudged Sasuke, Naruto was sure he and Sasuke would be taking it.
"Quite." Sasuke said as he watched the Sand-nin leave, he turned around to see the trio of children looking at them with stars in their eyes.
"That was awesome!" Konohamaru said while his friends nodded their heads.
"Ya you showed them." The other boy called out, Naruto chuckled at them.
"That we did but I hope you three will be more careful. More foreign shinobi will be arriving and we may not be around to help next time." The trio quickly nodded their heads before heading off into the village.
"So when do you think our sensei's are going to tell us if we are taking the exam or not?" Sasuke asked.
"Shikamaru said Asuma-sensei had a meeting this morning, is Kakashi at one?" Getting a nod Naruto continued. "That is probably about the exams so I bet will know by the end of the day."
"Hn." Sasuke replied. "Where were you headed?"
"Ramen." Naruto replied as he remembered his original goal, turning he and Sasuke headed toward the stand when a thought hit Naruto. "Sasuke why were you in a tree?"
After the meal Naruto made his way to his team training ground to see if Asuma was there yet. Walking through the bushes he saw Ino standing and tapping her foot in annoyance as Shikamaru leaned against a tree.
"Naruto your back." Ino said surprised at the appearance of her other teammate.
"Got back yesterday." Naruto said as he took a spot against the same tree Shikamaru was on.
"How did the mission go? What did you do? How come we didn't go with you?" Ino quickly asked so she could get the scoop on the boy's mysterious mission.
"Went fine, I had to go check some seals on the Fire Daimyo summer home and since you guys don't know anything about seals you didn't get asked." Naruto said as he closed his eyes and laid his head on the trunk.
"You got to meet the Fire Daimyo!" Ino shouted causing Shikamaru and Naruto to flinch.
"Of course not, I checked them for his visit later on." Naruto said as he rubbed his ears.
"Oh well that's cool I guess." Ino said, she was disappointed because Naruto meeting the Daimyo would have been the best gossip of the week. Sighing Ino looked back towards the village waiting for her sensei.
Asuma walked into the training field to see all three of his students waiting for him, he was glad Naruto was back and gave them a wave.
"Afternoon guys, Naruto glad your back safe and sound." Asuma said as he put out his cigarette so Ino wouldn't yell at him.
"Thanks Sensei." Naruto said as he and Shikamaru stood up.
"Alright guys today is going to be short." Asuma started saying as he pulled out three sheets of paper. "I have nominated you all for the upcoming Chunin Exams, the exam starts in one week and you need to fill this out and turn it in to me by Friday to participate." He handed each of them a copy. "Now I don't want to put pressure on you guys but the exam is a team effort so if one of you doesn't want to than none of you will. I'm telling you this because I trust you won't pressure each other to participate and because this exam is not a joke, people have died from it."
"Really?" Ino asked as she looked up from the form.
"Yes Ino, but I believe you three are all ready to handle this or I wouldn't have nominated you." Asuma said as he gave the girl a reassuring smile.
"Getting promoted is too troublesome." Shikamaru said as he eyed the form but knew he had to sign up or his mother might kill him.
"Were going to kick so much ass it isn't funny." Naruto said with a smirk, getting a chuckle from Shikamaru and a smirk from Ino. Asuma chuckled to; he could tell Ino was on the fence but that statement might have just tipped her decision.
"Well, I'll be around all week for any help you want but take the time to decide." Asuma said before disappearing in a swirl of leaves. Naruto looked over at Shikamaru and Ino, while Shikamaru seemed fine he could tell Ino was nervous about the whole thing.
"Ino, if you're not ready than me and Shikamaru will understand but if it makes you feel any better we always have your back." Ino looked at Naruto then Shikamaru, who smiled slightly, and nodded before smiling herself.
Naruto nodded to the girl before heading back towards his house, he was going to sign the form right away but wanted to look up some more advanced jutsu for the exam and talk to Hayate or Yugao.
============= Uzumaki Compound =============
Hayate sat in the kitchen looking at the scroll he had been given, it was about a mission he had to go on, and scowled. It wasn't the fact he had to go on a mission but more about the timing of the mission, normally he was hired as the examiner for the second task but this year he wasn't allowed to because of favoritism.
"Hayate you home!" Hayate looked up as he heard Naruto enter.
"Well speak of the devil." The Jounin said "Kitchen!"
"Hey so the Chunin Exams are coming up and I want to take them." Naruto said as he entered the kitchen. "Since you always are an examiner I figured you could give me an idea of what to expect."
"First I'm not an examiner this year and second it's always changing so I have no idea what you need to prepare for." Hayate said before having a small coughing fit.
"Why aren't you an examiner? You always do it." Naruto asked a little curious and annoyed.
"Well this year you have the option of participating and the Hokage thought it best with it being in Konoha that we don't show anything that could look like favoritism." Hayate said as he got up to get some water.
"Ya, like you would show me any favoritism." Naruto grumbled, though he did feel bad because Hayate enjoyed the examiner job.
"It's to appease the visiting villages so I don't mind." Hayate said picking up on Naruto's feelings. "I will tell you though to study everything you can before the weekend just to be ready."
"Ya, ya I already planned to." Naruto said as he got up and headed to the library. "Tell me when Yugao-neechan gets home, hopefully she will tell me something helpful."
"Will do." Hayate said with a chuckle as the blonde left to prepare for his future.
Okay sorry this chapter was short but I'm including the first and part of the second tasks in the next one so hopefully you all don't hate me.
