Chapter 14 – Four on One

"Our battle is not finished," Blade blocked Rockman's path as he glared at him, "That, was just the first stage of warm up!"

"What!?" Rockman backed away as Blade's lips curved into a smile, "What are you up to now? I can't let you use my friends against me again!"

Blade chuckled as his sword turned back into his arm again, "Don't worry, I'm already satisfied with the show you and your operator made. I'm sure that Lord Solo will be as pleased as I am now. If not, perhaps more…"

"I enjoyed it very much, Blade, but I believe that's not your whole potential as the leader of Chaos NetNavis, is it?" Solo asked with an evil smile.

"That was not all. As the leader of Chaos NetNavis, I can call back all of the commanders just by snapping my fingers!" Blade raised his hand and snapped his fingers, calling for the commanders of the Chaos NetNavis.

Four NetNavis stood in front of Rockman, blocking his sight from Blade. The leftmost one was a NetNavi with light purple armor and a pair of bombs attached to his shoulders. Next to him was a gigantic NetNavi made of cubes of stone with a bit blue color on his head, back, and shoulders. Next to the gigantic NetNavi was the vampire-like NetNavi in gray armor with blue face, hands, and legs. The rightmost one was a tall black NetNavi with glowing purple lines all over his body, looking at Rockman with his single glowing eye.

'Their colors are different from the NetNavis I had fought before…' Rockman looked at the NetNavis standing before him, "Chaos Bombman, Chaos Stoneman, Chaos Shademan, and Chaos Laserman…"

"You are correct!" Blade's voice was heard from behind the four Chaos NetNavi commanders, "And as a reward for guessing correctly, I will let you fight all of them at once! Four on one!"

"W-What are you saying!? That's not fair!" Netto protested angrily.

"We don't have the word 'fair' in Plutonian Syndicate's dictionary," Solo replied, getting an angry glare from Netto, "What? Finally admitting that you're weak when your friends aren't there to help you fight?"

"Netto-kun!" Rockman turned to Netto on the screen, "I'll do it. I'll fight them and free the others!"

"Rockman…" Netto looked at his partner for a moment before nodding in agreement, "Okay, let's do it!"

"Confidence alone won't get you the win from this fight," Blade's voice from behind the four was heard, "My loyal subordinates! Finish off Rockman!"

"YES, LORD BLADE!" The four of them replied in unison before they disappeared from in front of him.

"Where did they go?" Rockman looked around, but found no one else other than Blade and himself in the area.

"Rockman, behind you!" As Netto warned, Rockman turned to his back and saw that a barrage of bombs was flying his way.

Rockman jumped to the side to avoid the bombs, but instead he made contact with a Stone Cube as it crashed into him. As Rockman fell and was about to hit the cyber ground, he was blown away by a wave of sound towards Chaos Laserman who had charged a light purple laser at him. The impact of the laser pushed him into the cyber ground, cracking it a little. Rockman got up to his feet slowly and the four Chaos NetNavis appeared around him.

"Rockman!" Netto called out and then looked at the chips on his hand, 'This is bad… I'm running out of chips! I only have the chips for Dream Sword and Hyper Burst… Ah, I think I'll use these swords!' Netto took two chips and put the rest back into his chip holder, "Battle Chip, Bamboo Sword, Aqua Sword! Double slot in!"

A green sword replaced Rockman's right arm and a blue sword replaced his left one, "Aqua Sword!" Rockman swung the blue sword and created a wave of water, sweeping Chaos Bombman, Chaos Shademan, and Chaos Laserman away, "Bamboo Sword!" Rockman jumped towards Chaos Stoneman and aimed his sword to strike his head.

The green sword made contact with Chaos Stoneman's head, but the sword broke in half. As Rockman was caught off guard by his broken sword, a few bats flew towards him and knocked him away from Chaos Stoneman, landing near Chaos Shademan's feet. Chaos Shademan jumped away from him and a big bomb flew towards Rockman's barely conscious body.

"Battle Chip, Area Steal!" Netto quickly slotted the chip in and Rockman disappeared, leaving the bomb to hit and exploded on the spot where he used to be.

Rockman reappeared behind Blade, a few feet in front of the small pillar. As the smoke from the explosion cleared up, Rockman saw that the four NetNavis were walking his way before turning his head a bit to the pillar, 'I have to destroy that pillar… Everyone's data is there!'

A small rock statue came out from the cyber ground in front of him. The statue's mouth opened and fired a laser at him, knocking him back from his spot. Rockman fell and shut his eyes as he endured the pain he got from the Chaos NetNavis' attacks. Rockman forced himself to stand up once more as the four NetNavis had walked closer and closer to him. Rockman opened his eyes slowly and saw the dim glow from the pillar. When he turned to his side, the small glowing pillar was right next to him.

"I know what you're thinking," Blade started, getting Rockman's attention, "A call for help? Fine, go ahead! Your weak friends won't make things here much different from now!"

Rockman lowered his head and transformed his right hand into his Rockbuster, aiming it at the pillar, "They… they're not weak… It's… thanks to them… that I can become strong…" Rockman charged his buster, "I can't stop… blaming myself… if I ever lose them… if I ever let them get hurt…" Bright energy formed in his Rockbuster, "CHARGE SHOT!"

Rockman released the charged shot from his buster and hit the pillar, making it explode. The explosion had knocked him away along with the Chaos NetNavis as a huge amount of data poured out of the pillar. Rockman landed on his feet, but soon fell to his knees and looked at the bright light caused by the explosion before he collapsed on the ground.

"Rockman! Hang in there! Rockman!" Netto called out, feeling panicked as his NetNavi didn't respond to his calls.

Back in the Ministry of Science, Yuuichirou was busy typing in his computer with NetNavi data on his computer screen, "Everyone! Rockman has destroyed the part of the server which had your NetNavis' data, but he needs your help! I'll transfer the rest of your NetNavis' data there to help him! Get ready to fight tougher Chaos NetNavis!"

"Roger!" The operators in the room replied in unison.

"ROCKMAN!" Netto was still calling for Rockman desperately, but Rockman still stayed down. Just then, a few balls of light appeared from the pillar and landed on the cyber ground near Rockman before their shapes turned into his friends.

"Rockman!" Roll quickly ran over to Rockman and put his head on her lap, "Please hang in there, Rockman! I'll heal you!"

Rockman slowly opened his eyes, and the only color he saw was white. He got up and looked around only to find that his surrounding was all white in color, but then stopped when he saw a figure walking towards him. As he walked closer and closer, he saw that it was a boy about his height and his hair and eye color was brown, just like Netto.

"Who… who are you?" Rockman asked as the boy stopped in front of him.

"I am Hikari Saito, the desceased twin brother of Hikari Netto."

"N-Netto-kun's twin brother!?" Rockman asked in surprise and the boy nodded, "If you're dead, then am I too?"

The boy shook his head, "You're almost deleted, but there are others who are trying to help you. Especially that pink friend of yours."

"Roll-chan? She's a good friend of mine and we've got each other's backs!" Rockman responded, "Saito-kun, is there… is there a way to go back there? To go back to my friends?"

The boy nodded, "You only need to wake up. And my name is no longer Saito. I am…"

"…Rockman…" The pink NetNavi whispered sadly and saw that Rockman's eyes were still closed, "Please get up, Rockman…"

Rockman stirred up a bit and opened his green eyes to meet Roll's watery ones, "Roll… chan…?"

"Rockman…? ROCKMAN!" Roll threw her arms around his neck as she brushed her cheek against Rockman's, "I'm so glad… I'm so glad you're okay!"

"I'll be fine, Roll-chan. It's thanks to you that I'm alright now," Rockman replied as he returned the hug, a blush appearing on his face.

The two broke the hug and Roll helped Rockman to get back to his feet before the two of them saw the battle taking place in front of them. Searchman and Thunderman were surprisingly working together as they fought against Chaos Bombman and Chaos Stoneman. Blues was having a one-on-one fight against Chaos Shademan, and Chaos Laserman was dodging a series of attacks from Glide, Gutsman, and Iceman. Blade walked out from the battle field and stopped in front of Rockman and Roll.

"Looks like I've underestimate your friends," Blade transformed his right arm into his default purple sword, "But we Plutonians won't lose so easily to the likes of you!"

Rockman curled his hands in anger before his eyes softened and turned to Roll, who was standing beside him and was looking at him as well, "You can't stop me, Rockman. I want to fight side-by-side with you!"

Rockman gave out a smile, "I was just asking if you want to fight along with me, but now I know your answer," Rockman turned back to Blade, "Let's go, Roll-chan!"

Roll nodded and turned to Blade, "Yeah, let's do our best, Rockman!"
