After their conversation, things got quiet between Danella and Loki. When they arrived Stark tower, Danella looked to be at peace for a moment, despite the oncoming war. Loki walked to the edge of the balcony watching the skyline.
"Why the Tesseract Loki?." Danella said softly. "Of all the Gems and the Relics in the Treasury, why in the Nines would you choose to toy with the Tesseract?" When Loki didn't respond she walked towards the edge as well, "why the Tesseract Loki?"
"Before you and Angelique were sent here, you where given guardianship over the Tesseract. You wore it as a pendent(if you want to know what I have in mind for the Tesseract as a Pendent, google an aqua aura quartz Flower of Life.) before the Allfather ordered you to lock it in the Treasury. With you no longer being on Asgard, Guardianship fell to me." Loki stepped closer to Danella. "I presume that you saw what happened after the Ordeal with Thor's coronation. After falling off that bridge..." Loki took a breath, "I don't know how long I was drifting the Nine Realms. The Chitauri eventually found me.. They tried to take away my free will. They tried to make me submit to their every command."
Danella stood quietly, she saw everything that her brother had to go through flash through her mind again. "But you devised a plan didn't you?"
"I made them believe that I gave in. That I would work for them as long as they granted me Midgard in return. When you were sent here, Midgard was automatically under the protection of Asgard. Even more so when Thor made friends here." Loki was wringing his hands, like their mother does when she was nervous, "When the heroes 'found' me, I was prepared for what ever punishment and torture that S.h.i.e.l.d could think of then I would cooperate. I was willing to tell them everything. I waited and waited for the torture to happen. But that did not happen. I had planned this and..."
"And now you need a new plan." She stopped in the middle of the balcony of Stark Tower. "I have an idea, but you will need to knock me out again."
Loki stopped and looked at her sharply. "What? Why?"
"The Chitauri need to believe that you still answer to them. And Midgards heroes need to fight you and their army. Obviously you could take on the heroes by yourself, but you need to give into them so the Chitauri will lose to these mortals. My adoptive father will fight even fiercer if he believes that you have harmed me. The same could be said about Thor, Barton and Nat. They need to believe that you laid a hand on me. That is the only way they could even stand a chance of defeating this army."
Loki stood quietly, trying to add more to the plan. "They will need the scepter." He held up the weapon to emphasis the point, "this is tied to the Tesseract. It is the only thing that can stop the portal. But I cannot simply hand it over. Even to you.."
"Thor... You draw Thor into a fight and graciously lose, drop that scepter and get away from the tower. I will see that the connection is lost." Danella took a breath, "the only problem now is Doctor Banner. He may have been sent flying else where, but I can guarantee that he will show up. It is not in the good doctors nature to run away from something that he could help with. I could somehow distract him-"
"No." Loki cut her off. "I will distract the beast. It would not look right if you were fighting with someone you are supposed to be allies with. And I cannot make it appear as if I have you under the control of the Chitauri either. Thor knows that your mind is too powerful to fall under my control."
Danella nodded, she did understand her brothers reasoning, but that did not mean she had to like the idea of her brother taking on the Doctors alter ego. Her eyes wided a little when she saw her father suit flying towards the tower. Turning to her brother, "we will get this done. between the two of us, there will be less damage. But you need to knock me out now."
He looked in the same direction she was looking. Nodding, "we can do this. Together, just like we used to." He raised the weapon, He sent a wave of energy at her, sending her to the ground.
Tony saw that his daughter was once again unconscious again. He landed on his little dock and started to walk into Stark tower. He gave Loki a furious look. Loki silently let out a breath in relief. So far their plan was working. Loki picked up Danny and brought her inside. Depositing her on the couch and standing over her, looking over to Tony he spoke, "please tell me you are going to appeal to my humanity?"
"threaten actually. Especially after what you did to my daughter." If only he knew that Ella and he had planned on her being knocked unconscious.
"Oh, I did not to anything to her that she could not handle. My brother on the other hand, what he did, she may have not survived if it wasn't for me. And if you are going to threaten me, you should have left your armor on for that." Good, Loki thought. He needed his sister's adoptive father to get worked up.
"Yeah. It's seen a bit of mileage. And you got te glowstick of destiny. Not to mention the fact that you are hiding behind my daughter. Would you like a drink?" He offered, hoping that it would get him away from Isa.
"Stalling me won't change anything."
"No, no, no. Threatening. No drink? You sure?" He offered again.
Loki looked worried for a second and stood over Danny again while looking out the window. "The Chitauri are coming. Nothing can change that. What I have to fear?"
"The Avengers. It's what we call ourselves. 'Earth's Mightiest Hero's' type of thing."
"Yes. I've met them." Yes, and we need them. Loki added on silently.
"Yeah, takes awhile for us to get any traction, I'll give you that one. Let's do a headcount here. Your brother, a demigod. The fiance of my daughter over there. A super soldier, a living ledgend who kind of lives up to the legand. Who is also the father of that girl right there. A man wth breath taking anger management issues. A couple of master assasins who considered Isa to be their little sister. And YOU, big fella have pissed off every single one of them."
"That was the plan." That was exactly their plan. They just need it to work.
"Not a great plan. When they come, and they will come, they will come after you."
"I have an army." If only he knew that he was talking about the Avengers and not the Chitauri.
"We have a hulk."
"I thought the beast had wondered off." Hopefully Danella was right about the doctor returning. "And I have a goddess and a future queen on my side."
"And you probrobly have her under a spell."You can think that all you want But I cannot control her mind anymore than she could mine. "But you're missing the point. There's no throne, there is no version where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it's to much for us to handle. But that is on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well be sure we'll avenge it." Loki grew tired of Tony's antics. He needed Tony to fight. He walked up to him brandishing his scepter. Loki thought of another idea and hopes he's right. Loki 'tries' to gain control over Tony's mind. Thank who ever is listening, It didn't work. So he 'tried again' so it wouldn't be suspicious that he only tried once. Tony decided to be a smart ass again and made a stupid remark.
"Well, preformance issues, it's not uncommon. One out of five-" Loki grabbed him be the neck and threw Tony across the room because he was getting too calm instead of angered like he and Danny had planned. "Jarvis, anytime now." Loki grabbed him by the neck again. "Jarvis, deploy! Deploy!" Loki threw him out the window only to hearing a machine starting. Loki looked back only to be knocked over by the mark seven.
The Mark seven caught up to him, caught him and he flew back up to Loki and Isa.
"And there is one other person you pissed off. His name was Phil." Tony hit him with a repulser beam and Loki was sent flying back. At the very same moment, the portal was opening. Fantastic. Tony was ready to fight. Just like they had planned.
The Chitauri started to come through the portal. Tony looked up.
"Right, Army."
Then the war was started.
