Because I have you

September 2009

"Why do I have to go? Can't I just be homeschooled? This is like the fourth time I transfer to a new I should consider 'New kid' like my new name!" Jack complained to his mother during the whole drive to school.

"We've been over this Jack, this will be the last time we move I promise, but please don't get in trouble at least in this school," Jack's mother told him as he got out of the car.

"Yeah whatever" Jack closed the car door and walked in through the school gates. He hated being the new kid almost every year. He never got to make any friends at all that would last longer than a month or two. The bell rang which made him only groan more as he walked into his first class for the day, history.

When it was lunch time Jack decided to go outside. Some girls had invited him to have lunch with them, but he declined because they were too noisy. He walked outside seeing small groups of student huddled up in different corners, but there was one girl who was sitting alone under a big apple tree. The girl was reading a book, as she leaned against the tree with her bag opened showing her food that she had not touched.

Jack looked around all the other girls were on their phone or doing their makeup, but not her.

'There is something different about her' He thought and went over to her, "Hi!"

The girl looked up from her book and smiled," Hi!"

"I'm Jack, I'm new here."

"It's nice to meet you Jack, I'm Kim."

"Do you mind if I sit with you?"

She grinned and moved her bag, "Not at all." He sat down next to her and leaned against the tree.

She turned her attention back to the book that she was reading when Jack's stomach growled.

He immediately avoided her gaze while she chuckled and handed him her sandwich, "Here it looks like you need it more than me."

"But it's yours, I can't take it."

"Yes you can."

"Okay but at least lets split it up in half." He offered and that's what they did. After they ate , a small , but meaningful conversation started between the two. Sadly it was ruined by the sound of the bell. They both got up and started walking towards the school.

"So what class do you have now?" Kim asked him. He took out his schedule and said, "Math, you?"

"Science"

"Ah that sucks," He blurted out.

"Don't worry; maybe we'll see each other again next year."

"Yeah ma-wait what? Next year?"

She laughed, "I'm just messing with you, "

He sighed in relief and bumped her, "Don't do that anymore."

"Okay I won't and I got to go in this direction," She told him turning to the other corridor.

"Oh yeah, well maybe I'll see you later?" He offered.

She smiled, "Maybe you will." Before she turned around and walked away to her next class.

He stood there not realizing that classes had started just staring after her.

"That was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen…maybe this year will be different." He muttered under his breath as he walked into his class.

March 2013

Jack was waiting for Kim at her locker pretty excited since it was their last day before spring vacation. A lot of thing had changed for the past four years. After their first encounter Jack and Kim spent almost every day together. Jack changed his scheduled so it was just like hers. He waited for her every time she had extra cheer practice, because of the competitions. He even started training karate as he did when he was little.

It's great to say the two became best friends in no time, but during the last few months Jack's feelings grew a lot more for Kim. He didn't know what to do or if she would return the feelings, so he decided to tell her on New Years. It turned out she shares his feelings making them an official couple for three months now.

He couldn't believe how great things turned out for him. Even though last year they had fought because a girl named Donna wanted Jack for herself. They fought for a whole week , before they finally talked and settled things between them…especially with Donna. When she saw them together after New Years she grew so jealous and tried to pull the same thing as last time, but their relationship proved to be stronger.

Jack was lost at thought when he finally snapped out of his trance to see Kim standing in front of him smiling. "Hey wake up! We're going to be late. Jerry and Kelsey are already at the restaurant waiting for us."

"Oh yeah I forgot," He shook his head and sneaked his arms around her waist, "Before we join our crazy friends I got something for you."

He pulled out the small box from his pocket and opened it.

Kim gasped at the sight of the locket she wanted to get for so long, "How did you find it? I was looking everywhere!"

"I have my ways," He told her and put it on her, "I remember the day you told me about it... and more importantly I remember the story behind it. I know how much it means to you so I searched everywhere for it."

"You didn't have to. I wasn't really myself that day, I ranted about so much things, I thought I was annoying you…"She held the locket in her hands with a little tear escaping her eye. Jack wiped away the tear with his thumb making her look in his eyes, "I listened…"

That's all he said before Kim cut him off with a sweet kiss.

December 2016

It was the most wonderful time of the year Christmas. Finally school was over and everyone was thrilled as they were preparing for the holidays.

Kim was at home packing her things for her long awaited vacation. She and Jack were going to Kim's grandparents in England for the holidays. Her grandmother had met Jack when she came for Kim's birthday and since that day, she couldn't stop talking about them getting married and such. Kim's grandfather liked Jack too, but couldn't meet him in person; he only talked with Jack online, seeing as he was still traveling. So when they insisted that Jack and Kim be with them for the holiday there was no way, they could say no.

Suddenly her phone went off signaling that someone had called her. Kim snapped out of her trance and picked up her phone. It was her grandmother that called her again. She sighed happily thinking about how impatient her grandmother can be. She started to text her when two strong hands grabbed her from behind pulling her into well familiar warmth.

"Hey Kimmy!"Jack kissed her cheek holding tight not letting go,"Are you ready to go?"

Kim grinned and put her hands on his,"Yeah I'm ready and we got to now or else my grandma will come here to make us go. By the way when did you come?"

"Oh I came a couple of minutes ago, I was downstairs talking with your dad. "

"Anything I should know of?" She chuckled turning around in his hold.

Jack smirked,"Nope, nothing"

"Okay, but you know I will find out!"He nodded and they kissed.

A few hours later they were on the plane watching old Christmas comedies when Jack asked Kim, "Hey Kimmy?"

"Yeah?"

"What do you want for Christmas?"

Kim smiled when she started thinking about the past few years. From the first day when he came to her till today. He was always there for her. When they started dating, there were a couple of times that they had fought, but in the end, nothing would let that break them up.

"Nothing" She responded nuzzling her head into his neck.

"Really? How are you so sure?"

"Because I have you!"
