I am so sorry for not updating this story in a long time. This chapter is short and sweet and I hope you all enjoy it. Please review.
Chapter 14
Rachel sat on the bed reading one of her new parenting books while Finn was massaging her feet. Rachel had her first doctor's appointment since she found out she was pregnant on the upcoming Thursday. Finn was going to take her there for moral support and to make sure everything was ok with the baby. At times he thought he was more nervous about having a baby than Rachel was. Finn had been tempted so many times in the past week to tell people about how happy he was about the baby but unfortunately Rachel hadn't reached the 3-4 month barrier. Rachel had told him that anything could happen between now and then and if he told people that would be devastating and everyone's hopes already would have been up.
Rachel had been reading books night and day none stop trying to brush up on her facts about what to expect when your new parents. She had convinced Finn to read some books not only on how to prepare for a child but what to expect with Rachel as well.
"How are you feeling?" Finn asked Rachel as she read on the couch.
"Nervous and excited at the same time, you?" she asked in return.
"I'm fine. You don't have to be nervous honey, everything will be fine." He said in attempt to calm her down. "I know I'm over reacting but there could still be a problem with the baby and I don't want anything to happen to her."
"Her? You think we're having a girl?" Finn wondered. "I don't know, I kind of got this strange feeling telling me it's a girl but who knows." Rachel answered.
Just then the doctor walked in and called Rachel's name. Rachel and Finn followed the doctor into the room.
"Hello Rachel. If I could just get you to lie down on the bed so we can begin this ultrasound that would be great." Rachel did as she was told and lifted her shirt enough to give the doctor access to her stomach.
"Have you been feeling any abnormalities such as pain, headaches, loss of breath? Anything like that that has been an ongoing concern for you?" the doctor asked Rachel. Rachel just shook her head no. The doctor then proceeded to rubbing the gel on her stomach to see footage of their baby. Once an Image appeared on the screen Rachel began to tear up. "That's our baby, Finn." All Finn could do was smile and kiss her hand, utterly speechless.
After a few more minutes in the office they were told what to expect in the next few weeks before their next appointment. On the way back home they stopped in central park to take a moment and enjoy everything going on in their lives at that moment.
Finn I can't wait for this journey we are embarked on. Everything we know is about to change for the better and I couldn't ask for anything more. I love you so much Finn!" Rachel said giving him a kiss on the lips before continuing to walk home.
I know this was a very short chapter but I just felt so bad for not updating in the longest time. I hope what I have written down here was enough for the next little while. I am planning on having another chapter within the next month. Thank you all for reading this!
