Ch. 14 Denial and Sad Stories

Ah yes, the dragonesses have to answer their unwelcome visitor and we have to see how Ellis is doing with his seduction training...more likely he is failing but oh well.

In other news, Were It So Easy will have it's epilogue posted this week for those you who love it. Yes, it's at an end but I might have a sequel planning that might take a while to develop though keep tuning in. Don't forget, I'm still missing a name for the Barbarian for my Love for an Angel fic which is due to begin in two weeks.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, all characters belong to Activision.

Spyra and Cynder looked at Kormar with a critical eye. Sure he wasn't bad to look at and he sounded nice but the girls weren't stupid, the way he spoke all but gave it away and his eye movements didn't help his cause. Staring at female's backside without permission was almost a death sentence depending on the female but these weren't your typical females.

"After "careful" deliberations, our answer is a resounding..." Cynder started as she looked at Spyra and they spoke at the same time.

"GET LOST!" They both shouted in unison.

Kormar had to cover his ears at the force of the shout before he heard what they said. "What? What do you mean get lost?"

"Are you hard of hearing? It means go away." Spyra reiterated as she turned back to her friend. "So as I was saying, maybe we..."

"I think we got off on the wrong foot ladies, let's start again." Kormar said as Cynder growled.

"Why would even give someone any time when we are merely the source of a bet?" Cynder asked as Kormar flinched in a tiny amount but it was all the dragonesses needed. "You seem to think that we can't read emotions but Dark Dragons always can. I can read your emotions and thoughts like they were a book."

"You aren't even going to give me a chance?" Kormar asked indignantly.

"Nope." Spyra said in clear dismissal as both dragonesses got up and left the area.

-Scene Change-

"Now what exactly do you have trouble with my son?" Cyril asked as Ellis shifted his seat.

"Nothing! I just don't want to have girls after me." Ellis said for the hundredth time in the last week.

"You don't have a choice in the matter, they will be after you regardless of what you say my son." Cyril said as he walked over to Ellis. "I was like you once, I was afraid of female attention and many would always discuss about my markings or my attitude. I was the one who's head was always in the books and trying to hone my skills and abilities."

"So you got rid of them right?" Ellis asked as Cyril shook his head.

"One dragoness was...extremely persistent and persuasive." Cyril said as he lifted his head in thought.

"You had a stalker?"

"No no no, not a stalker; she didn't follow me or watch me but she did pursue me as a mate. She would ask me but when I rejected her she merely went to being friendly for a while. After a few months of speaking like friends she would ask me again but get the same answer. She never stopped nor was she deterred, she just keep following the same pattern. It took her nearly two years but she eventually got o me and I said yes." Cyril explained as Ellis tilted his head.

"And what happened after?" Ellis asked as Cyril smiled.

"I gave her the mating flight and something just clicked when I did. It was as if I had known her the entire time and she became the one I loved more than my own studies. I spent the majority of my time after that making sure that she was comfortable and happy until it was discovered that she had been suffering from the Ratliss disease." Cyril said as he put his head down in sadness.

Ellis grimaced when he heard the name; Ratliss was a rare but fatal diseased that attacked the blood supply and the flow of it through a dragons body. As a result, many of the organs would shut down for a time until the adequate amount reached them to function but the problem with it was that the amount had to come from other organs. Eventually the body would tax itself trying to keep the organs from failing and just stop all together.

"For one more night she wanted me to make her feel like a normal dragoness and for one more night I gave her that. She was gone the next morning with a smile on her face as she laid in my claws." Cyril finished solemnly. "For that time, I was the happiest I had ever been and that alone made me happy that I finally took the plunge. No children were born from our union due to circumstances but I have no regrets."

"So you say that I should just accept what is happening." Ellis said quietly as Cyril blinked away a few tears.

"Not just accept it but embrace it the way I did. It can be some of the best times in a dragons life and in a humans life if they pick the right female. My son, don't limit yourself and don't let some lucky female go two years chasing you. I wish I had those two years back now but my time for that is over." Cyril said as he nuzzled Ellis. "Now let's get you ready for female attention."

Ellis gave a soft sigh as he finally decided that he wasn't escaping it. That didn't mean he would just accept the first pers...er dragon to ask him. Kyrin wouldn't accept that after all and would definitely raise hell if he did. "i don't want to be some kind of trophy."

"And you won't as long as you pick the right one. Now let's focus on what females like in a potential mate." Cyril said as he began to speak about the finer points of the mating cycle and made Ellis a new color of red in the process.

-Scene Change-

"What do you mean they blew you off?" A green dragon asked Kormar as he joined his buddies.

"Exactly what I said, they didn't even think about it." Kormar replied bitterly. "At this rate we won't win the bet."

The green dragon snarled. "This has to work, I won't let those idiots from the 8th term walk all over us. We need to beat them at this."

"And how do we do that, they completely shut me down and you wouldn't fair any better than I did." Kormar said as the green dragon grinned.

"All we need to do is wait for them to be vulnerable and then take advantage of their sadness." The Green dragon said as Kormar scoffed.

"Good luck with that Cedar, the only way that will happen is if that ugly human goes missing again." Kormar said as Cedar's grin got bigger.

"Then that is what we need to do." Cedar said before he added. "Without killing him of course, we just need to make him go away for a bit then we can bring him back when the two Legendaries are with us. It's the perfect plan."

"And how would we do that? Make him go on a field trip?" Kormar asked as Cedar nodded.

"Volteer is planning a week long outing for his class. All we have to do is make it seem like something happened on that trip and the two will be distraught over their friend to pay attention to what they are doing." Cedar said as Kormar grinned after a moment.

"I like it but we'll have to move fast on it. They will suspect something's up if we take too long." Kormar replied as Cedar and him bumped claws.

"Royal status, here we come." Cedar said as they walked off to discuss their entire plan.

Unknown to them, a certain dragonfly heard every word.

And cue the ending right there. Yes I know, short but it keeps you all happy for now.

In this issue; we saw someone get rejected quickly, Ellis got a glimpse of Cyril's past and got the dragon version of the "birds and bees" talk and we saw two stooges try and plan a fake disaster. You can almost hear the Looney Tunes song playing can't you?

This chapter had a mix of humor and drama in it but not much as you can see. I want to ease us into things and not rush it all out at once or else the story gets boring. Either way, expect things to get crazy as the season has officially kicked off and expect that little outing to be hell on earth for Ellis.

Read and review and I will see the rest of you scalie lovers in the next chapter!
