A/N: Sorry for the late update school projects kept me busy. Anyways enjoy.

Chapter 13

"Okay so what story do you want to hear next" Hiccup asked.

"Hiccup I think we need to talk about this whole Roman Emperor's daughter thing" Stoick said.

"I had intercourse with the Roman Emperor's daughter and possible got her pregnant. Also her father wants my head on a pike. I don't think there is anything to about on the subject" Hiccup said.

Stoick opened his mouth to speak, but Thorn beat him to it and said "The Romans already sent three thousand troops his way to try and kill him. They failed. I think it's safe to say they won't be a problem. Also the Shadow Hunter story that was interesting."

"That guy was annoying as hell" Alex said.

Toothless huffed agreement.

"Shadow Hunter?" Fishlegs asked.

"It's a small dragon like a Terrible Terror, but black like Toothless. I've only ever seen one and that was in this cave." Hiccup said.

FLASHBACK

Hiccup and Toothless were flying with Thorn and Banshee and they were low on supplies and decided to land on a nearby island to restock. They landed in the nearby forest and hid the dragons. It was night time by this point and Hiccup and Thorn had entered the village. They both went around buying the supplies they needed when they heard "Hey get back here you demon."

Thinking it was one of their dragons they quickly sprinted to the location with their weapons drawn. They get to the location and see a small group of Vikings. One of them notice Hiccup and Thorn and said "Well aren't you two eager young lads."

They sheath their weapons and hiccup said "We heard demon."

"It was the Shadow Hunter" the Viking said.

"Shadow Hunter? I haven't heard of that dragon before" Thorn said. "You?"

"No I haven't" Hiccup replied.

"Not surprising since the Shadow Hunter has only been seen on this island and there is only one of them… we think anyways. Thing's so fast we don't really know if it's just one or multiple" The Viking said.

Hiccup and Thorn look at each other with a smile, it might as well have been Yule (Viking Christmas). A rare dragon that might be the only one left causing trouble and they get a chance to try and catch and study it, it was heaven.

"If you need help with your dragon problem we'll be happy to help you" Hiccup said.

"You boys think you can solve the dragon problem we haven't been able to for years" the Viking asked.

"We did kind of make some sort business dealing with dragon problems" Thorn said rubbing the back of his neck.

"No I won't say business it's more of a hobby we do to earn extra money as we travel" Hiccup said.

"A hobby?" The Viking asked.

"We are damn good at it too" Thorn said.

"If you think you can do it I'll take you to the chief" The Viking said and walked towards the Great hall where the chief of the island was.

A few minutes later Hiccup and Thorn arrived at the Great hall with the Viking escorting them. "Hey Chief these boys think that they can solve our little dragon problem." The Viking said.

The Chief looked that Hiccup and Thorn. The Chief was similar to Stoick just a smaller in build and size, dark brown hair, and a much shorter build. "You boys really think that you can take care of the dragon problem" The Chief asked skeptically.

"Yes sir we do" Hiccup said.

"Really now?" The Chief asked.

"We know what we are doing and are good at it" Thorn said.

"Yeah it won't be our first rodeo" Hiccup said.

The Chief pondered what Hiccup and Thorn said for a bit then said "Alright as long as you don't cause trouble for my people you boys can hunt Shade all you like."

"Shade?" Hiccup asked.

"It's the name we gave the Shadow Hunter" The Chief said.

"Oh okay" Thorn said.

"Thank you for the job. We'll be sure to stay out of the way of your people" Hiccup said.

"Alright, but feel free to buy any goods you need" the Chief said.

"We'll be sure to spend some money don't worry" Hiccup joked and got up to leave along with Thorn.

"Oh one more thing. Don't kill Shade just capture him" The Chief said.

Hiccup and Thorn looked at each other confused before looking back at the Chief.

"This place is pretty boring and Shade, as annoying as he is, does provide a great deal of entertain for use" the Chief said already guessing Hiccup's and Thorn's question.

"You got it Chief. Capture nor Kill" Hiccup and Thorn said in sync.

"Well off you go boys" the Chief said.

"Bye" They said and ran off.

"5… 4… 3… 2… 1… now" The Chief said and Hiccup came running back in and asked "Where can we find the Shade?"

"Caves north of town" The Chief said.

"Thanks" Hiccup said before running off again.

Hiccup and Thorn grabbed their dragons and headed to the caves.

When they got to the caves Hiccup lit a torch for Thorn and him. "Ready" Hiccup asked.

Thorn and their dragons nodded. "Then let's find us a Shadow Hunter" Hiccup said.

"Yay" Thorn cheered and the dragons roared.

They walked into the cave 33 steps exactly before the torch in Hiccup's hand was blown up. "Ah" Hiccup shouted and dropped the torch. They heard the scampering of tiny claws.

"Shade" Hiccup said.

Hiccup lights another torch only for it to be blasted just like the first one.

"I can see why they find him annoying" Thorn said.

"Toothless sonar blast please" Hiccup said.

Toothless used his sonar blast showing he outline of the cave and they saw a small dragon on the cave wall. "There" Thorn said and ran and dove at Shade.

Shade jumped out of Thorn's way only to be captured in Hiccup's arms. "Got you" Hiccup said.

Shade clawed Hiccup's face and got out of his arms and ran off. "Gods I hate that dragon" Hiccup said.

"Same" Thorn said.

They repeated that process multiple times before they finally got Shade subdued. "Finally I got you" Hiccup said holding Shade tight.

"Hiccup put him in there before he gets lose again" Thorn said holding up a sack they used for supplies.

Hiccup shoved Shade into the bag. "Let's go" Hiccup said.

They hid Toothless and Banshee back in the forest. Before heading back to the Great hall.

"Here's Shade" Hiccup said placing the sack with Shade in it at the Chief's feet.

"I'm surprised you caught him" the Chief said.

"He is really annoying" Hiccup said.

"I know" the Chief said. "You are actually the first people to catch him."

"It was a pain in the ass" Thorn said.

"That just gave me an idea" the Chief said and released Shade from the bag. Shade looked at the Chief and the Chief said "Run along now."

Shade bolted for the door and went back home.

"What the hell was that for" Hiccup asked angry at all his hard work running away.

"I thought of a new way to entertain us. Catch Shade game. The goal is to catch Shade and bring him here, safely of course" the Chief said.

Hiccup and Thorn were done with this just done and decided to leave. "Don't forget to feed him well" Hiccup said on his way out.

"Come back soon" the Chief said.

FLASHBACK END

"That is the stories of the Shadow Hunter" Hiccup said.

"Wow the Shadow Hunter seems so cool" Fishlegs said.

"Yeah it is cool but very annoying as well" Thorn said.

The doors to the Great hall opened and a Viking popped his head in and said "Hiccup there is someone here to see you."

"Okay send them in" Hiccup said.

The Viking pushed the doors open and the sight Hiccup went white as a ghost.

A/N: Hey I hope you enjoyed the story and I wonder what Hiccup saw that made him pale? Anyways I have two ideas for it, so all you have to do is decide.
