[A.N.] Back again with the next chapter! I apologize for the overdue wait, things have been a little hectic lately in my life.

Thank you to Linkian, StraightedgeWingZero, and Bakuragrey1998 for reviewing the previous chapter. I know I don't say this at all anymore really, but I do appreciate reviews as much as the next "author" on fanfiction. Thank you, again.

Lot's of "easter eggs" here and other hints at what the future might bring. Kuddos to those who can guess what they all are!

Onward!

The Green Knight: A Hero is Born

Chapter 13: Faceless Enemies

[Kokiri Industries, 7:30 PM]

[Link]

The ballroom of Kokiri Industries was packed full with many of the prominent citizens of Hyrule City. Link watched out of the corner of his eyes as his mother, sister and Mido stood under a large banner that read "Welcome, David Helmaroc!"while photographers stood before them with their camera's ready.

Saria noticed Link and her eyes lit up as she quickly waved to him, ushering him over. Link sighed and gave a small grin before walking up to his family. "I've been looking everywhere for you, quick let's get a few family pictures in before the new D.A. comes." She said,

Link stood between Anna and Saria while Mido stood beside Saria. They all smiled at the cameras as several flashes went off.

"Where is he anyway?" Link asked, looking around. "Shouldn't he have been here by now?"

"He's a very busy man, Link." Mido stated as he glanced at his wrist watch. "I expect he should be arriving any minute now."

Just then the two double doors leading out into the main lobby opened up and everyone turned their heads to see David Helmaroc enter the spacious and lavishly decorated room with a stunning woman at his side, followed by a few large men in suits. David smiled and greeted everyone that approached him with firm handshakes and half hugs. He suddenly looked over at Link and then to Saria and Mido and smiled widely as he walked over to them. "Saria, Mido, so good to see you!" He said as he leaned forward to give Saria a small kiss on her cheek. "I can't thank you enough for all of this." He said as he gave Mido a firm handshake.

Saria smiled and shook her head. "The pleasure was all ours."

"Indeed." Mido said. "Anything to help support our new district attorney - Hyrule needs you." He added.

David chuckled and picked up a glass of champagne as a waitress walked by. "You have no idea." He said with a smile as he glanced at Link for a moment. The two stared at each other and Link felt strange, there was something off about him but he couldn't quite tell what it was.

Mido quickly finished his drink and set the empty glass on a tray as another waitress walked by. "Shall we?" He asked David, eyeing the podium. David nodded and followed Mido to the front of the room, followed closely by David's bodyguards. Mido walked up to the short stool and repositioned the fixed mic, tapping it gently with his finger. "Ladies and gentlemen, if I could please have your attention." He began as he cleared his throat.

Everyone in the room stopped socializing and gave their attention to the front. "On behalf of Kokiri Industries I'd like to thank each and every one of you for coming here tonight. But I know it's not me you've come here to see," He said with a chuckle. "So with that, let me introduce to you our city's newest district attorney - David Helmaroc!" Mido clapped his hands as he stepped down from the podium.

Everyone clapped their hands and smiled as David Helmaroc took Mido's place. Repositioning the fixed mic, David smiled and raised a hand and everyone fell silent. "Thank you, everyone, for being here on this most important night." David began. "Also, I'd like to give a big thanks to Saria and Mido for offering Kokiri Industries to host this most wonderful fundraising event." He paused and looked around before continuing. "But this night isn't about me, and it's not about Kokiri Industries either...it's about all of us rising up to defend this city."

Link eyed everyone in the room as they seemed impressed by his opening statement. Somehow he wasn't sure how he felt.

"I've been watching this city with some interest lately, and I must confess it's one of the reasons why I decided to come here. We all know about the Valley and the poverty and homelessness that has stricken that section of the city. What this city needs are people like you and me who want to see it rise up to its former glory, and that is why I am going match the person who donates the highest amount to this fundraiser." David said eagerly.

Everyone in the room gasped and seemed very impressed by his statement as they clapped loudly for him.

David shook his hand. "Please, as I said this isn't about me, it's about Hyrule, and I promise you that this money will be used to improve Hyrule's police department, help feed the homeless, to take the families off the streets and into homes, and so much more!"

Everyone continued to clap loudly, when suddenly the double doors burst open as several men dressed in black and carrying heavy guns entered the ballroom. The goons fired their guns in the air and everyone screamed. "Everyone down on the ground, now!" One of the thugs yelled, firing his gun at the ceiling.

[Five Hours Ago]

[Port Hylia, Dock Number 4]

The hooded man's thugs all stared at each other in confusion.

"I said it's alright." Their boss repeated. "Lower your guns." He said softly. His men obeyed and the hooded man sat back in his seat and stared at the man in the purple cloak. "So, I presume you must be the one they call The Wizard? I have wanted to meet you for a long time." He said. There was a small hint of admiration in his voice. He extended his hand outward, "Please, have a seat. I imagine you were sent here by our mutual friend?" The hooded man asked.

The man in the purple cloak bowed and sat before the hooded man. "I go by many names." The man spoke. "For now, you may call me Agahnim." He said, giving a light chuckle. "And let's not play games, I already know who you are...Berserker, and who you work for, so why cover up your face?"

Berserker chuckle and folded his arms across his chest. "I like it covered. Besides, I don't see you jumping up to take off yours."

Agahnim chuckled. "Indeed, you are right to keep your hood over your face, but it does not cover the emblem on your right chest." Agahnim pointed out, glancing at the MM badge on the man's upper right portion of his uniform. "As for our mutual friend - I am sure your employer received word from my organization?"

Berserker nodded. "I see, so you are familiar with our organization and partners, then? Yes, the Don received it, that is why I am here. I work for the Don as a middleman to broker transactions." He explained.

Agahnim seemed pleased to hear this. "Good." He replied. "Then we may begin." He said, taking a seat before Berserker.

"Let me remind you that the Don only deals in arms trading, and cares little for anything else." Berserker said.

"Well, that is unfortunate." Agahnim began. "We were hoping to form an alliance with your Don. As part of this alliance the Rova Cartel will distribute a standard portion of your arms and in return you shall agree with distribute a shipment of our good." Agahnim explained, tossing a small ziplock baggy at Berserker.

He took the small bag and inspected the three purple pills. "Drugs, huh?"

"Not just any drug." Agahnim began. "It's something I've been working on for a long time. It starts by giving of a sense of immense euphoria and an explosion of energy before it's true nature kicks in. This drug is specifically designed to wipe this city of all its filth. It will feed off those poor and and sick that live in the Valley first, but then it will spread. With your help, both our organization's can achieve something great. I am sure that the Don understands the wealth tied to this city, does he not?"

Berserker nodded. "He has expressed interest in Hyrule recently, yes. But our alliance will have to be worth the costs. The Don is a very busy man, and he gets very angry when he loses unnecessary money." He explained.

"I understand completely." Agahnim replied.

"What is your interest with the Don, if you don't mind me asking?" Berserker asked.

"My employer sees great potential in the Don, and your support and access to certain valuable resources make you an ideal ally." Agahnim replied. "We will control this city, and together our organization's can expand from Hyrule out into the world. Weapons, drugs, political goals, we will control it all!" Agahnim explained.

"I see." Berserker replied. He paused and folded his hands together, deep in thought. "Very well then," Berserker said after after a few minutes, "on behalf of Don Genie we accept your organization's offer."

Agahnim seemed pleased by this a stood up. "Very good. Please deliver your share of arms to this address." He said, handing Berserker a small card. Agahnim turned to leave, but suddenly stopped and turned back around. "Oh and there is one more thing I needed you to do for me."

"What's that?"Berserker asked.

"I will need the assistance of you and your men tonight. We are attacking Kokiri Technologies and Kokiri Industries at the same time, and we will need your assistance." Agahnim explained.

"What for?" Berserker asked. "Those buildings are heavily guarded and have the highest form of security. It would take an expert team to break through." He explained. "What do you need there, anyway?" Berserker asked curiously.

"A very important piece of technology that my employer desires." Agahnim replied. "We also have someone on the inside that has agreed to help."

Berserker remained silent for a moment, deep in thought. "What's in it for us?" He asked.

"Think of it as a chance to prove you can be trusted, and also the chance to steal highly sensitive military plans from Kokiri Technologies. They have contracts with the army, navy and other military branches around the world." Agahnim explained.

Berserker nodded in agreement. "When do we start?"

[Saber Manor]

[Sheik]

He slept peacefully under the warmth and comfort of his thick blanket and large, foam-padded mattress. The past few nights had been great for him, in fact the past few months had been pretty good. A small beam of light in the far corner of the room was all the visibility there was. He shifted around slightly under his blanket and a second figure suddenly appeared to be moving beside him. Of course, Sheik Saber the playboy son of a multi-billion dollar CEO would never sleep alone.

It had been strange, honestly. Usually his father would have had yet another argument about how to start acting more like an adult; as if that man ever cared.

The blanket was slowly peeled back and Sheik's head popped out followed by a young woman with brunette hair. She smiled at him and he at her before they embraced each other and kissed longingly.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, and before Sheik could say anything it opened and there his father stood, giving him a hard stare. His father looked from Sheik and then to the girl next to him. He smiled and said, "Would you please give my son and me some privacy? We need to have a little chat…"

The young woman looked questioningly at Sheik for a moment. Sheik sighed and nodded to her, and she frowned slightly while wrapping herself in one of the sheets. Grabbing her clothes and things, the girl left quietly, but not before saying to Sheik, "I'll call you later."

Sheik almost blushed, but the fact that his father stood at the threshold of his door - and not looking too pleased - washed away any embarrassment and left only an annoyed expression. "Morning dad…" He said in an almost bitter tone.

His father's lip twitched and he chuckled mildly. "It must have been a spectacular night last night if you managed to bring that one home." He commented.

Sheik gave a sneer. "You're the last person who should be judging me for that."

"Oh, I wasn't judging." His father said. "Merely….observing." He said with a smile.

Sheik raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And what else have you observed?" He asked mockingly.

HIs father's face suddenly turned hard as a dark shadow fell across it. "Why don't you see for yourself?" He asked, tossing a newspaper at Sheik. "You've made quite the front page story."

Sheik looking from his father and then to the folded up newspaper on his bed. Hesitantly he moved forward and picked it up. Unfolding it, Sheik looked at the front page to see a picture of himself standing in the Hyrule Square Fountain with his back facing the camera. The image was slightly blurry, but he could have guessed what he had been doing. Above, the heading read: Billionaire playboy found "taking a leek" in historic fountain. He winced somewhat, this wasn't good.

"Alright, so I got a little wasted, so what?" Sheik said with a wave as he kicked his feet out from under his blankets.

"'A little wasted'?! Sheik, they said you asked like a monkey out there! This is not what I meant when I said you needed to be more responsible!" His father yelled.

"I'm not a little kid, dad!" Sheik shouted. "I'm a grown man now! You can't treat me like this!" He snapped.

His dad seemed to be more relaxed now, though there was an odd twinkle in his eyes. "You're right, son." He said. "You are an adult, and I haven't been treating you like one."

Sheik looked surprised by what his dad said, but said nothing.

His father smiled and turned around, but before he left he turned his head to the side and said. "That is why, if you cannot manage to find a suitable job in the next three months, I will be cutting you off…permanently." He said darkly.

Sheik looked flabbergasted. "W-what?!" He said in shock. "You can't do that!"

His father blinked. "Actually, as it turns out, I can…" And with that, he left his son's room as Sheik stood frozen to the ground with shock and disbelief.

"Find a suitable job in three months…"

The words echoed inside his mind. Sheik laughed to himself; any job he found would be unsuitable in his dad's eyes…unless he worked for him…

Sheik shook his head. "No! I don't need his money or his help. I can find a good job, get a place of my own and finally live like an actual adult and not be bothered by that worthless man!

But who could help him find a job?

[Dampe's Burgers, 2:00 PM]

[Link]

"And then he just left." Sheik said as he finished his food.

The two had been sitting at Dampe's restaurant for the past thirty minutes while Sheik told Link about his morning confrontation. "Speaking of which," Sheik began with a curious look on his face. "Where have you been lately? I've been trying to take you out for a night in downtown again but you're always busy...doing what, I have no clue…" He said, sounding suggestive.

Link sighed once more. "It's complicated." He said simply.

Sheik raised an eyebrow. "'Complicated'?" He repeated.

"Yeah and I'm not really comfortable talking about it. alright?" Link said quickly in defense.

Sheik looked at him strangely before his face contorted into a look that seemed as if he knew what it was Link was really doing. "I see now…" He said with a grin.

"What?" Link asked curiously, cocking his head slightly to the left.

"No, it's alright, really." Sheik said waving a hand. "I understand, more than most men anyways. Just be sure you introduce me to her at some point." Sheik said with a chuckle as he finished his water.

"'Her'?" Link repeated with confusion. "What are you…" Link's eyes suddenly widened. "There is no her, Sheik. Really…"

But Sheik appeared unconvinced, as the grin had now spread well across his face. "Like I said, I don't know a thing - but if you ever need an alibi I got you!" He said, giving him a wink.

Link blinked in surprise. "Oh, thanks…"

"Don't mention it." Sheik said with a wave. He sighed and sat back into his chair. "Anyways...I'm hoping that this new job means I can get the hell out of my dads place and finally live on my own."

"Wow." Link said in amazement.

"What?" Sheik asked wearing his usual grin and looking curious.

"I just never thought you would ever move out of that mansion…" Link replied.

The two stared at each other for a moment before bursting out into a light laughter. Finishing up the last bits of his large burger with everything on it, Link drank from his cup of water and dabbed at his mouth with a napkin before sitting back and releasing a heavy sigh. "Sheik, I know you and your dad have a rocky past and a not-so-good relationship, and I'm not going to try and get in the way of that with some big speech or anything," He added quickly when he say the look of annoyance flash across Sheik's face. "but...when I was on the island all I could think about was my family and who my real parents were. I would have given anything to just see their faces. Because if those seven years taught me anything, it's that family is everything…"

Sheik frowned slightly. "...You haven't really talked about it...your time on the island I mean…" He said, trying his best to sound casual.

"And let's hope you never have to hear about that." Link replied. "There are things I had to do...things I didn't like...things that made me question who I am as a person…" Link paused and stopped himself, suddenly realizing he was talking without really thinking. He had better stop. "Anyways I should probably be heading back to the office." Link said, hoping Sheik wouldn't press the subject. To Link's delight, he didn't, and the two paid for their meal and left the restaurant.

[June 24th, 2006] - [Flashback]

[Link]

Link struggled to break free from the soldiers grip, but he was too strong. Link coughed and continued to fight as he slowly began to feel his vision begin to change. Falling to his knees with the soldier, Link looked down at the ground to see a large stone just ahead of him. Letting go of the soldiers arms that was currently wrapped around his neck, Link reached forward and grabbed the rock before smashing it into the side of the soldiers face.

The soldier fell backwards and slipped downward as they reached the edge of the cliff. Link managed to break free from the soldiers grip just as he slipped over, but Link wasn't able to climb back up in time, and he fell down to the raging waters below.

Link fought hard against the waters current and pulled himself onto the banks of the river's edge. Coughing heavily, Link climbed out of the water and sat up on his knees. Panting, Link wiped his dirty, wet hair out of his face and looked around for his attacker. His eyes fell on a dark figure that bobbed gently against a large rock some feet down the river from Link. Standing up, Link ran over to the soldier and approached the man's motionless body with some caution. Finding a long branch nearby, Link picked it up and jabbed the soldier in his side. When he didn't move, Link dropped the stick and pulled the man out of the water and laid him flat of his back.

Link stared at the soldier for a moment before leaning down and removing his black, ski-mask. A quickly shiver ran through his spin as he stared at the man. There was a large cut on the soldier's right temple and large amounts of blood mixed with water and dirt trickled down the side of his face and began to form a small pool by the man's ear.

Link's breath had calmed down now somewhat, and he jerked his head around the vicinity to make sure he was alone. When he was, Link quickly disrobed the soldier's body armor, gear and clothing down to the man's boxers. Link placed the half wet cloths nearby on a fallen tree and dragged the soldier's body back to the edge of the river and dumped the body in the water.

Returning his attention to the new set of clothing and gear in his possession, Link quickly stripped off his old, now tattered clothing and put on the soldiers. The black uniform fit rather nicely on him, surprisingly, but the bottom half of was still wet. Link checked all the pockets to find several useful items such as three grenades, a hunting knife, and a pistol with a few magazine clips of extra ammo and a few other things that could be used for survival.

He checked the pockets of his old clothes to find a folded up, damp map of the island that Naria had given him before she was taken.

Link clenched his teeth as panic slowly began to enter his mind. He was all alone again. What should he do? Naria said she had marked their destination on the map, but he couldn't just leave her. After all, she did risk her own life to save and protect him. Whatever her reasons were, Link new that now it was his turn to save her. Link pulled the black cloth mask over his face and aligned the holes properly before pulling out the map and opening it up. He looked back up at the cliff and then back at the map before deciding on a route to take. The first thing he needed to do was to get back up where he and Naria were moments ago.

The top of the cliff seemed no different than when he had fallen off. Link's eyes searched around the vicinity, hoping to find some clue as to where those men had taken Naria. Images of the recent events that transpired flashed through his mind as he retraced his steps. Link stopped walking when he reached the general spot he was at just before he was attacked. Looking around, Link's eyes widened when he spotted the sword that Naria had given him. Quickly picking it up, Link replaced the blade back into its sheath along his waist. He looked back to the spot where Naria was captured by the same men that had taken him.

Running over to the spot, Link bent low and observed the ground. He could tell in certain areas where the ground had been pushed down, and where twigs had been snapped. He found a promising lead in a set of foot prints he thought he could faintly make out that appeared to travel back down the way Naria and he had travel up.

Link's eyes widened. Were they taking her to the same place they took him? A shiver ran down his spin when the thought of Naria – or anyone – being tortured the way he was. Link looked to his side, where, in the distance, a large cliff stood at its peak. And just on its other side would be the ship that could help him get home. With a heavy sigh, Link turned and walked back down the way he had been traveling for the past three days, hoping he would be able to catch up with Naria before they reached their destination.

[Spinner's Night Club, 2:30PM]

[Zelda]

She walked down the relatively empty sidewalk at a somewhat brisk pace. Zelda wore a sharp black suit and carried nothing more than a purse in her right hand. Zelda's face was hard and calculating as her heels clicked against the cement path. Her wavy golden hair bounced gently against her upper chest. After reading the files that Midna had given her on the recent slew of missing girls, Zelda knew she couldn't pass it on to the HCPD.

As she made it to the front steps of the nightclub, two large men dressed in black clothes stopped her. "Down boys." Zelda said with a smirk as she raised her badge. "I'm an ADA - I just want to speak with Mr. Spinner for a few minutes."

The two men stared at each other for a moment before looking back at Zelda, unimpressed.

"And if you don't let me speak to him i'll have you both arrested for obstruction." Zelda finished with a smile.

"That won't be necessary." Said a man who suddenly stepped into view. Zelda looked up to see the man she had been looking for. "You may leave us." The man said to this two guards.

Zelda's eyebrows meet at a 'v' as the two thugs left their presence. "Hello Stal…"

"Zelda Harkinian, how long has it been?" Stal asked, wearing a crooked smile.

"Certainly not long enough." Zelda said without hesitation.

Stal shook his head. "My my, still as bitter as the day we split up." He said with a light chuckle.

Zelda's face turned hard as she quickly pushed past him, entering his currently closed establishment. "We don't open for another five hours - "

"Save it, Stal." Zelda cut him off. "I'm not here to party at your club." She said, looking disgusted.

A muscle in Stal's jaw twitched, however he smirked and waved the comment and implication off. "I see, then you must be here for business. What can I do for you, Ms. Harkinian?" He asked.

Zelda pulled out a file from her purse and opened it up, showing its contents to Stal. "Do you recognize any of these girls?" She asked, shoving the file with pictures of all the missing girls.

Stal raised an eyebrow and glanced at the photos before shrugging. "It's possible."

"Did you remember seeing any of them? A date or time would be helpful…" She said, folding her arms across her chest.

"What do I look like, a security camera!?" Stal yelled as he shoved the files back into Zelda's hands. "Do you even know how many girls come through here in a night?"

"No, but I bet you do." Zelda said with death glare.

"Listen," Stal began as he started to get angry. "Whatever's going on with these girls, it's got nothin' to do with my business, you got that?"

"Eyewitness testimonies, traffic camera footage and missing person's reports will say otherwise!" Zelda countered. "Not to mention all the past drug issues that have been going on in this area! All five victims live within a ten mile radius of your club, which also just happens to be the last place they were seen. Not to mention that they've all had history with drugs or theft." She added with a sense of success.

A glint in Stal's eyes made Zelda wonder if she was finally getting to him, but ot soon passed and he chuckled before shaking his head. "You don't have shit. And if you haven't noticed, we are in the Valley - drugs tend to fill the streets every now and then but it doesn't have anything to do with my club! Understand?" He said heatedly.

Zelda smirked and took a step closer to Stal, getting in his face. "I wouldn't relax just yet, Mr. Lord, I can assure you that I've only just begun to look into this, and I promise you that I will bring you down!" Zelda shoved the file back into her purse and turned on her heels before walking back down the street.

[Stal]

Stal watched Zelda until she turned a corner and suddenly his face contorted into worry. He turned around and eyed one of his club security men, ushering him over. "Give me your phone!" Stal asked.

The man pulled out a flip phone from his inside pocket without hesitation and handed it to Stal, who quickly opened it and dialed a number. After three rings someone picked up.

"I told you not to call this number - " An electronically masked voice began to say.

"We may have a problem." Stal cut in.

The voice on the other end remained silent for a few seconds before responding. "What's the situation?"

"I've got a prissy little lady from the D.A.'s office asking too many question's about missing girls…" Stal explained.

"...And?" The voice asked. "You haven't told me anything that would cause concern - "

"I just think we need to scale back a little on the bodies - at least until this all blows over." Stal suggested shakily.

"Don't tell me you're getting cold feet, Mr. Lorde? Remember, your little club wouldn't have even gotten a liquor license, much less getting built in the first place, if it weren't for my employers. And the only reason your business if still running if because of the drugs we bring in. The girls are a necessary price for you to pay."

"But what about girl from the D.A.'s office? She'll come back around asking more questions!" Stal replied.

"Leave her to me…" The ominous voice said before hanging up.

[Kokiri Industries]

[Link]

He waited in the office that Mido and his mother had given him. Though whether he would actually take up the offer was another story entirely. Link sighed and looked out the massive window that overlooked downtown Hyrule. He needed to do something that wouldn't call attention to his nightlife, and maybe working as a high position in a billion dollar company would most certainly do the trick, he just wasn't sure if it was something he would be able to do convincingly. After all, he never did get a college education.

A soft knock at the door caused Link to turn around and face his visitor. "Mido, " Link said with some mild surprise as he approached his step-father.

"I know you were expecting your mother," Mido began. "But she was called into a meeting; I hope you don't mind me taking you down to Kokiri Technologies?"

Link shook his head. "Not at all, when do we leave?"

Mido smiled and extended his arm outside the room. "Right now."

[Kokiri Technologies, 3:30 PM]

Mido's limousine pulled up next to a large warehouse-like building located on the far upper east side of Hyrule City, just fifteen miles from downtown. Mido's driver stepped out of the car and walked around the back to Link's side where he swiftly opened the door for him.

As Link stepped onto the sidewalk, Mido's driver closed the back door and the window suddenly rolled down. "Dr. Beedle should be waiting for you inside." Mido began. "Let me know if you need anything!" He said with a smile.

"I will, thank you Mido." Link replied. He watched as Mido's limousine drove off back the way they had come, until it disappeared around a corner. Link turned back to face the large building before him, but first noticed how strangely quiet it was in the current area. In fact, apart from an old railway line there wasn't much this far east besides a few other office buildings.

Link returned his attention to Kokiri Technologies and approached the front entrance. Opening one of the doors, Link stepped inside to see a large and spacious lobby that had a few seating areas in the corners, a main circular help desk and two escalators in the back that ran in opposite directions. The lobby was sparsely decorated with smaller plants on end tables, and the large multi-paned windows made room very bright. Link glanced around for Dr. Beedle when he suddenly realised that he had no idea what to look for.

A security guard took notice of Link and began to approach him when he was suddenly stopped by a man with red hair and large, funny looking nose. "No need to sign him in," the man began, "he' with me." The security guard relaxed and nodded before returning to his post.

"Mr. Kokiri?"

Link turned to the man and nodded., giving him a questioning look. "Yes?" His eyes flicked down to the ID tag around the man's neck. There was a small picture of the man's face and a name below it: Dr. Terry Beedle.

Terry gave Link a smile and extended his hand, which Link shook. "Mr. Kokiri may I just say that I am so very pleased to have finally met you!"

"'Link', and the pleasure is all mine." Link replied with a small smile.

Terry smiled and nodded. "'Link', of course. Please, call me Terry." He said before gently placing his hand on Link's back and began to walk towards the back of the lobby, guiding Link for a few seconds before releasing his hand. "May I ask why you wanted to visit Kokiri Technologies, Link?"

Link shook his head. "I just wanted to get a better understanding of what my family's company does and this seemed like to best place to start."

Terry smiled at Link's answer, looking somewhat impressed and perhaps mildly proud. "Of course." He replied. "Your mother is always doing what she can to make this city a better place - she comes down here, you know? From time-to-time…"

This wasn't any surprise to Link. Even in her last job as a teacher, Saria would stay late to help other's out and further her own research. Dr. Beedle led Link to the back of the main lobby and behind a hallway into a dark and empty corridor. Link took slower steps now as his guard responsively came up. "Dr. Beedle?" Link began as he looked around. "Why have we stopped, there's nothing here." He pointed out.

"Ahh, but that's where you're wrong my boy." Dr. Beedle replied, giving Link a grin. He approached the center right wall of the dark and curved white-walled corridor before looking back at Link. "Only a hand-full of people are ever allowed beyond this point, do you understand?" He said, giving Link a knowing glance.

Link nodded, still confused at to what exactly was going on.

Dr. Beedle accepted Link's silent response as he returned his attention towards the spot he was looking at earlier. He suddenly extended his right hand up and placed his palm flat on a section of the wall at his arms' length. The section he touched suddenly emitted a glow and a small square section of the wall, roughly the same size as the section he touched, opened up to relieve a palm ID scanner.

Link's eyes widened with amazement as he silently watched the events unfold.

Dr. Beedle placed his palm over the ID scanner and it emitted a red glow up and down his palm before flashing green three times. A series of metallic clicks and whirring could be heard before a larger section of the wall, roughly the size of a door, suddenly opened up allowing them entrance to a section previously thought untraversable.

"Wow…" Link gasped as he looked past Dr. Beedle and into the space, but he only say metal stairs that led down.

"Well," Dr. Beedle began as he stepped back. "shall we?" He asked Link.

Link nodded and Dr. Beedle extended his arm out, allowing for Link to walk ahead of him, and into the depths of Kokiri Technologies.

[June 26th, 2006] - [Flashback]

Link had been traveling for so long he almost didn't realize it was morning already. Beams of warm light spilled through the gaps in the trees and branches as the large sun began its ascent into the sky. His body was tired and sore all over, and he was hungry. It would be nice to have some breakfast, but Link prefered to first find somewhere he could use as a temporary shelter.

Walking down a large cliff, Link spotted what appeared to be a small rundown bunker of some sort. Curious, Link neared the structure and found that the door was open. Cautiously entering the dark room, Link noticed there were wasn't really much around besides a dingy old arm chair, a few guns, sticks and knives, and various other things needed for long term survival. Link was confused, was there someone else shipwrecked here too? Did they find this place and made it into a home? Walking around more, Link noticed there was a small stand that had a picture of someone. Link walked over to it and picked it up, noticing the broken glass. Link's eyes fell on the girl in the photo and his heart nearly stopped.

She looked just like Zelda.

"What are you doing here!?" A man yelled suddenly. Link spun around to see a large man standing by the doorway. He was dressed in ragged and torn clothing, and a large dead deer rested over his shoulders. The man placed the deer down and pulled out a large hunting knife. "You better answer me quickly before I cut you like I'm gonna cut him." He said to Link, glancing at the deer.

"Whoa!"Link yelled, throwing his hands up. The man noticed the picture in Link's hand and tensed. "Put that down!"

Link immediately placed the photo down and backed away.

"Now, start talking!" The man ordered.

Link quickly explained to the man what happened to him and how he was captured by men on the island, and how he met a girl named Naria who rescued him, but now needs his help.

"I see." The man replied. "This does changes things, but it doesn't mean I fully believe you." He said, giving Link a glance over. "You say you are not military, yet you are dressed like the men that continue to occupy this island.

"I got these clothes from a man that attacked me when Naria was captured. We feel off a cliff, I lived and he didn't. My clothes were already torn as it was so I took his. Besides, I thought it would help me to get Naria back somehow."

"How's that?" The man asked.

"I don't know?!" Link said, releasing a heavy sigh. "It might help me get into their camp easier."

"Until someone that saw you before recognizes you. You did mention being captured at one point, didn't you?" He asked Link.

"I did, and I never said it was perfect plan." Link replied.

"So what are you doing here, then?" The man asked next. "Thought you could steal my stuff to aid yourself I suppose?" He said accusingly.

Link shook his head. "No, I wouldn't do that. I just needed a place to rest and somewhere where I can cook a meal. I haven't eaten in almost two days." Link explained.

The man looked Link over once more before seeming to lower his guard. "My name is Tarin, nice to meet you."

[Kokiri Technologies, 5:30PM]

[Link]

"Well Link, it was very nice to have you here, but I'm afraid we will have to end today's tour. I have a meeting with an old colleague in Megalopolis City." Dr. Beedle said to Link as he walked him back to the front lobby of Kokiri Technologies. The main room of the large facility was relatively empty now that many people had left for the day. "I trust you know that what you saw down there is very sensitive and not meant for everyone to know about?"

Link nodded. "Don't worry, Dr. Beedle, I won't be spilling my family secrets." He said with a smile.

"If you ever need anything, Link, please don't hesitate to find me." Dr. Beedle said, extending his hand out. Link accepted the shake before turning to leave.

Link exited the building and took in a deep breath of fresh air. While his trip at Kokiri Tech was eventful, it was rather stuffy down there. Link was still trying to process everything that he had seen. If he could somehow get his hands on some of those items and materials it would greatly help his cause.

Link walked a few blocks down the street from Kokiri Tech and made a turn down an alley. It might be worth visiting Dr. Beedle as his alter self to try and scare him into giving him a few upgrades. It was then that Link suddenly felt as though someone was watching him. Link subtily glanced behind himself to see a man in a dark hoodie walking towards him, and another man dressed in a similar fashion just ahead of him.

Link almost laughed to himself. Was this really happening to him right now?

When the man ahead of him got within ten feet Link stopped. The two men on opposite ends of Link also stopped. One pulled out a small blade while the other pulled out a handgun. "Are you Link Kokiri?" Asked the man standing in front of Link.

"Who wants to know?" Link asked in response.

The man with the gun didn't look happy. "My employer, now answer the question!" He asked again, now pointing his gun at Link.

Link shrugged. "Never heard of him." He said.

The two men slowly began to close in on Link, and he visibly began to tense. "That's too bad." The man with the gun said, scratching his gun with the barrel of his pistol. "Because we watched you enter Kokiri Industries and you didn't leave for almost three hours. What's your connection to them?"

"You've been following me?" Link asked, clenching his hands into fists.

The two men chuckled. "It's not hard to follow a billionaire heir.." The thug replied.

"You'll stop if you know what's good for you." Link replied calmly as he glared ahead at the man before him. The man behind him also slowly began to near Link a little more.

"Oh yeah?" The man with the gun began. "And what's a spoiled stuck up kid like you gonna do about it?" He asked as he lifted his gun.

Just as the barrel reached Link's eye level he quickly spun around and punched the thug with the knife twice across the face and in the stomach before placing his hands on the man's shoulders and flipping over the man, twisting around to face forward, just as the other man fired his gun. He fired until he was all out, but all the bullets had hit his partner instead.

Link allowed the dead body to fall as he slowly approached the remaining man, who dropped his gun and pulled out a knife. "Bad idea!" Link yelled as he jerked his head to the side just as the man thrust his knife at him. Link grabbed the man's arm and twisted it before fully breaking it.

The man howled in pain as he fell to the ground. "Argh!" He cried.

"Who hired you!?" Link yelled as he hefted the man up by his shirt collar.

"You made a really big mistake." The man replied with a chuckle mixed in with grunts of pain. "You have no idea the enemy you've just made."

"What's his name?" Link asked.

"I have no clue." The remain replied.

Link shook his head. "Not going to cut." He said before punching the man hard across the face. Link pulled the man back up to hit him again but he raised up his other arm before yelling. "Wait! I really don't know his name! Only the people that he works for do!" The man said.

Link could tell he was being honest, so he stopped punching the man. "What's the organization called? The one this man hired you works for?"

The thug frowned and gave Link a surprised look. "Don't you know who runs the drugs in this city?" He asked, like everyone knew.

"I've been...gone for a while." Link replied, sounding impatient.

"The Rova Sisters Cartel, duh." The man replied.

"Where can I find them?" Link asked next.

The man suddenly looked scared, very scared. "No way man, I'm not telling you that."

Link raised a fist in the air, preparing to strike the man. "No, no, no!" The man suddenly yelled, cause Link to stop. "It doesn't matter what you do to me because I won't tell you anything. These people, they have eyes and ears everywhere and if I tell you where to find them then they will know and then I am dead man!" The thug yelled hysterically.

Link sighed and stood up straight, causing the man to relax. He tried to get up, when Link suddenly struck the man down with a powerful jab. Link looked around the alley, it was still as empty as when he first entered, and it didn't look like anyone had passed by recently. Looking back at the two men, Link began to grow worried. Who were these two men and who sent them after him. More importantly, what did they want with him and his connection with Kokiri Technologies? Was is something to do with that device Dr. Beedle had shown him? And who are the Rova Sisters? Why hadn't be heard of them before?

Link knelt down and checked the two men's pockets. Besides their wallets and a few other useless things, Link found that they both carried with them a small plastic bag filled with a few purple pills. "Drugs…" Link thought to himself. "If I can get Navi to find out the exact composition of this, maybe I can find out where it's being made." Link thought. It was time to make a trip to the IT department at Kokiri Industries, and then it was time to visit Dr. Beedle, before getting ready for tonight's big event.

As Link walked out of the alley, a black car slowly drove by and watched him as he left.

[Kokiri Technologies, Underground Parking Garage, 5:40PM]

[Dr. Terry Beedle]

He fiddled with his keys for a moment before grabbing the one he needed and unlocking his car from a distance. Terry had just stepped off the elevator and entered lot B of the multi-leveled garage. His car, a silver 2014 E class Mercedes Benz, sat parked along in one of the corners of the lot.

As Terry approached his car, someone walked behind him and he jerked his head around to see who it was, but there was no one. "Who's there?" Terry shouted, looking around the dimly lit area. "I have a gun, so don't try anything stupid!" Terry yelled as he started to pull out a handgun. When he turned back around to face his car, a man in a tattered green jumpsuit was standing by the trunk.

Terry gasped and was about to point his gun at the man when suddenly he was only a few feet from him. The man drew a sword with incredible speed, and pointed the tip only an inch or two from Terry's throat. "Drop it." The man in the mask said in a deep, husky voice.

The wore a green face mask, so Terry couldn't tell who he was. He did as he was told, and the gun fell to the ground. "W-who are you?" Terry asked the man, raising his arms up in defense.

The man suddenly lowered his guard. He sheathed his sword and knelt down to pick up the gun Terry had dropped. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." The man said, still holding on to the gun.

"Then what do you want?" Terry asked, no seeming more calmed down.

"Do you know who I am?" The man in the mask asked.

Terry bobbed his head. "I've heard rumors of you: A man dressed up in green, fighting crime in the city, trying to help others." He stated.

"And do you believe these rumors?" The man in the mask asked next.

Terry shrugged. "It's hard to say; anyone dressed up fighting like that has some issues, that's for certain."

"That doesn't answer the question." The man in the mask pointed out.

Terry sighed. "I want to believe, but like I said it's hard."

"What If I told you that you could help me." The man in the mask offered.

"How?" Terry asked, looking confused. The man reached into a pocket and pulled something out. He handed it to Terry, who took it and inspected it. "A flashdrive, huh? What exactly am I going to find on this?"

"Hopefully, something that isn't above your skill level." The man said in response.

Terry seemed a bit more confused now. "How do you even know me?"

"You're Dr. Terry Beedle, a renowned scientist and engineer whose been working with Kokiri Technologies for years - another big name in the science industry, among others." The man replied.

"So, you've been spying on me, have you? And I guess it seems you've done some research on this place." Terry commented.

"Just doing some investigating, that's all." The man in the mask said. "I wanted to be sure you were man that can be trusted." He added.

"And what do you think?" Terry asked curiously.

The man in the mask was silent for a moment before replying. "You seem like good man, someone who wants to do good in this city, like I do."

"And who do I know that you really want to do good. This could all just be some big act." Terry pointed out. "I'm not sure I'd want to get caught up in something like that…" He paused for a moment when a thought crossed his mind. "What happens if I refuse?" He asked, suddenly.

"What do you mean?" The man asked, seeming confused.

Terry licked his lips apprehensively. "If I refuse to help you, what will you do?" He clarified.

"Then I would try and find another way." The man in the mask replied.

Terry nodded his head. "I believe you." He sighed and stowed the flash drive the man in the mask had given him and opened his car door. "I'll see what I can do."

"Thank you, Terry." The man in the mask replied.

Terry smiled and got into his car. He inserted his car key into the engine before turning back to the man in the mask. "So, what should I call you?" Terry's eyes widened in shock when he realized that no one was there. The man in the mask had disappeared.

[Kokiri Industries, 7:05PM]

[Anna]

She stood by her mother amidst the crowd of people dressed in the most elegant of clothes, sipping on glasses filled with champagne. Anna wore a white dress that had a frilly waist, just an inch or two above her knees. She wore her hair up and carried a small silver Versace purse in her hands.

"You look very lovely today." Saria whispered into Anna's ear as they entered the main lobby."

Anna smiled and wrapped her arm around Saria's waist. "Aww, thanks mom. You look pretty good yourself. My dad might get jealous with all these rich single men staring at you." She said with a chuckle.

Saria stopped and playfully slapped Anna with her purse. "Anna, stop!" She said with a small laugh. "That's not funny….but thank you for the compliment." Saria said, giving Anna a hug.

"Where is my dad anyway?" Anna asked, looking around the packed looby.

"Probably off talking with some investor or one of the board members. You know how he is about his business." Saria said.

"Don't we all…" Anna said, lowering her voice and giving a small frown.

"I'm more worried about Link." Saria said. "I don't see him and they're going to want to take pictures soon!" She stammered.

"He's probably enjoying himself, after all he was stranded on a remote island for seven years." Anna pointed out, not seeming to be worried.

"He better not be late!" Saria said, looking serious. "I told him three times about this, he wouldn't let me down." She said, trying to assure herself.

"Look, it's my dad!" Anna suddenly said.

Saria looked up to see Mido walking towards them. He had a wide grin on his face, but when he saw Saria, it was like his face light up a thousand times brighter. "Saria, my darling!" Mido declared as he wrapped an arm around her waist and gave her a kiss.

"Hello my dear." Saria said with a chuckle. "Had a little bit of the champaigne, have we?" She asked, straightening his crooked tie.

"Just a little." Mido admitted, smiling widely.

Saria patted him on the chest and chuckled, but said nothing more.

"Where's Link? I thought he would be here by now?" Mido said, looking at his watch. "It's almost picture time." He said as he started to look around. "Has anyone seen David?"

"He's there." Anna said, pointing to the front. "I think he just got here." She pointed out.

Mido and Saria both turned to the front to see David Helmaroc and a very beautiful woman by his side, enter the lobby followed by several large men and many press reporters, who were denied entrance.

Saria sighed. "Dammit, Link."

"Mom!" Anna exclaimed, shocked that her stepmother just cursed. She tried hard not, especially in public. She said it made a woman less classy, and also that she herself felt like garbage when she said fowl language.

"Sorry, dear. It slipped out. But I'm not wrong, Link really messed up this time."

By this point David and the woman by his side began walking towards Mido, who noticed them and intercepted to chat for a moment.

A man with a large camera suddenly appeared before Saria and Anna and smiled at them. "Photo?" He asked.

"Yes, but I'm afraid we'll need a minute. My husband is still talking with the D.A. He'll be around shortly I presume." Saria said.

"Of course, no problem." The man said, stepping to the side.

A few minutes later David and Mido made their way towards Saria and Anna. "Let's all talk some picture's, shall we?" Mido said, walking up to Anna and giving her a hug.

"Yes, please!" Anna begged. "I just want this to be over so I can drink some champagne!"

"You are not having one drop!" Saria exclaimed suddenly.

"Now, now, it's alright. She's eighteen, it's okay if she one." Mido said, cutting in.

Saria sighed. "Fine, but just one! Understood?" She asked directly at Anna.

Anna nodded. "Just one!"

"Sorry I'm late!" Shouted Link, who suddenly appeared beside Anna. "Hey, you're looking good!" Link said to her.

Anna smiled and rolled her eyes. "You look very dapper." She said, giving him a half hug.

Link eyed Saria, who flashed him a glare in response before looking back at the camera man.

"Is everyone ready?" The cameraman asked.

"Yes, I think we are." David Helmaroc said as he eyed everyone with a smile.

"Alright then, on three!" The cameraman said. Everyone smiled and stood in a line, arms wrapped around each other's waists.

"One...two...three!" The cameraman snapped several pictures of everyone and would develop all the pictures before getting them the copies.

[Link]

"Where were you?" Saria asked him as they all broke off.

"I'm sorry I had...something to take care of." Link replied.

Saria rolled her eyes and looked fed up. "I'm not sure what's been going on with you lately, but this needs to change. You're not acting the same anymore! You're always off doing something more important!"

"Mom, I promise you I'm doing this for me." Link said seriously. "I'm getting my life in order, and it hasn't been easy!" Link exclaimed.

Saria suddenly looked at Link with some concern. "I know, which is why we all just want to help you!" She said as her eyes began to water up.

"And you are!" Link said. "You all are! But there are something's that I need to do on my own. And you all need to understand that." He said as he started to calm down.

"I think you've made it pretty clear." Saria said coldly. She gave Link a thin smiled and walked away.

Link sighed and covered his face with his hands. "Is everything alright?" A familiar voice asked. Link turned around to see Zelda in an elegant black dress that was revealed most of her back. Her hair was down in wavy strands that flowed down the sides of her chest.

"Zelda, hey!" Link exclaimed, giving her a hug. "It's good to see you." He said.

"Same here, it's been awhile since we last bumped into each other." Zelda said, looking into Link's eyes.

She was probably referring to his welcome home bash, where she told him he could talk to her if he ever needed, and he hadn't really been doing much talking since. "Listen, Zel, I'm sorry I've been so distant lately." Link began. "I've just been so busy trying to get my life back in order." He explained.

"I know that, Link." Zelda said, giving him a smile. "I think everyone does. We not all understand, but we're here for you."

"Thanks Zel." Link replied, giving her a smile. "How about we get dinner sometime soon?" He asked.

Zelda smiled. "I'd like that."

Somehow he wasn't convinced yet.

"I've been watching this city with some interest lately, and I must confess it's one of the reasons why I decided to come here. We all know about the Valley and the poverty and homelessness that has stricken that section of the city. What this city needs are people like you and me who want to see this city rise up to its former glory, and that is why I am going match the person who donates the highest amount to this fundraiser."

"Everyone one down on the ground, now!" One of the thugs yelled, firing his gun at the ceiling.

Link starred with shock and surprise at the masked goons before a shadow crept across his face. "Link's what's happening?" Zelda shouted while gripping his arm.

"Everything's going to be alright, I promise!" Link said to her before looking around the room for the rest of his family. He found Saria and Anna running over to each other, followed by Mido, who was making his way over to them from the podium. Link took Zelda's hand and lead her through the crowd as security officers began pulling out their service weapons and firing at the five men.

They ducked and moved for cover, but when one of them was almost caught in the open, he grabbed a civilian and pulled him in front, blocking at bullet intended for him. The party guest fell to the ground, blood spilling out and all over his dress clothes.

"No-!" A woman yelled as she knelt to the man's side.

Link started at the dead man and then glared at the thug with anger. "Get to my mother, go!" Link yelled to Zelda as he looked around for Jason. He found his mother's driver nearing his mother and sister, and intercepted him. "Jason," Link began, placing a hard hand on the large man's shoulder. "I need you to watch other my family and Zelda, do you understand?!"

Jason nodded. "Where are you going?"

"To get help." Link replied. He left without allowing Jason any more question's. Link exited the room through a side door that lead to the service stairs. He traveled all the way down and outside into an alley where he stepped over to a nearby trash bin. Opening it up, Link found all his things waiting.

Suiting up, Link reentered the building and drew his sword. Making his way back up to the lobby, Link burst through the door as gun shots rang out. Many of the guests had been panicking and trying to leave. There were still a few security guards left, but they were pinned down behind two pillars. Chunks of stone and dust flew off the side of the pillars as the five men continued to shoot at them.

Link sheathed his sword and drew his bow. Nocking an arrow, Link fire at the thug closest to the security guards. The arrow hit the goon in the upper left portion of his chest, and he went down hard. Clutching his wound and wincing in pain. The security guards looked over at Link with shock and surprise, unsure if the man before them was just going to kill them all.

"Get to safety!" Link yelled to them.

The guards jerked their head and began to gather their wounded comrades. The remaining four thugs raised their guns to fire at the guards, when Link suddenly fired an arrow above the thugs, where a large ceiling lamp was hanging. The arrow hit the bulb, causing a shower of sparks and glass to rain down on the thugs. They all covered their heads just in time, however Link had made it closer to them in that time, and systematically began to take them out.

In the commotion, one of the thugs managed to slip away down a corridor. Link finished up with the last thug, tying all of their hands behind their back with zip ties, in the room and was about to pursue the other that ran away, when suddenly three cops cars with their sirens blaring flew down the street. A few cop cars stopped outside Kokiri Industries, but the remaining cars continued to drive past the building.

Link looked around the lobby. All but one of the thugs were taken care of, and there was no immediate danger, so he decided to see what was going on outside. Making his way up to the roof, Link looked around at the city of Hyrule, its bright lights and tall buildings made it seem more alive during the night then it was during the day. On such a night one would agree that Hyrule is more alive at night. Currently, the only thing that could be heard was cop sirens.

A section of the city suddenly caught Link's attention and he immediately made his way there. Upon nearing the cause of the smoke, Link suddenly began to realize that he had been here once already. Earlier today, in fact. This was without a doubt the way to Kokiri Technologies.

Link began to grow worried. Was the attack on Kokiri Industries just a ploy to get all the cops focused on one task? Was Kokiri Tech the real target, and if so then what were they looking for? All these questioned buzzed rapidly inside Link's mind as he speed through the city on his bike. Arriving just outside the main entrance, Link noticed all the cop cars surrounding the building. Then, suddenly there was a loud explosion and the front entrance to Kokiri Industries blew up. Two crotch rockets zoomed out of the fire, each with two men on them. The two men on the back's of the bikes fired their rifles at the stunned and shocked cops, taking them all by surprise.

Link clenched his teeth and revved his bike, speeding after them. The two drivers, realizing they were now being pursued, split off in two different directions. Link veered right, following one of the bikes, while the other one presumably got away.

Link moved his bike into position and lifted his bow while quickly drawing an arrow. Keeping his bike in position, Link drew back his bow string and fired at the bike. The arrow hit the crotch rocket in front of the back wheel, causing a shower of sparks to go flying. The bike suddenly fell on its side and spun out, throwing its two occupants off. Link lowered his bow in relief and propped his bike up on its kickstand before walking over to the two men. However, to Link's immense surprise, there was only one man by the fallen bike. That was odd, he could have sworn there were two on each bike. Thinking he made a mistake, Link was about to check out the fallen thug when someone suddenly spoke. "Looking for me?"

Link spun around while drawing an arrow with impressive speed, however the thug block the impending attack, knocking Link's bow out of his hands. Link threw up his arms as the thug unleashed a flurry of punches. Link threw in a few punches at the thugs side when he could, but nothing really landed. The thug suddenly struck Link in the face twice before Link managed to grab the man's arm and flip him over his side.

The thug hit the ground hard, but quickly recovered by kicking his feet up and out, flipping himself back up onto his feet. "Very impressive, but it's not enough!" The thug yelled as he charged Link.

Link prepared to raise his arms in defense once more when the thus suddenly jumped in the air, performing a three-sixty backflip and kicking Link across the face so hard it sent him crashing to the ground. Link groaned in pain and tried to sit up when a heavy boot pushed him back down. "You have no idea who you are dealing with." The thug whispered to Link.

"Who do you work for and why did you attack Kokiri Industries?!" Link shouted.

"A shadow without a face. A man you will never touch." The thug replied. He pulled his fist back to punch Link, not before he got a good look at the man's outfit, and the strange MM badge on his chest. The thug hit Link across the face, knocking him out.
