After weeks of inactivity I'm back to bring you the next chapter.
I also want to give a shout out to Jpbake for his advice on how I should've let this chapter play out. Thanks so much :)
Other than that. More shit is about to hit the fan.
Well I don't have much to say so let's start.
Crash not mine. OC's are mine.
Chapter 13 When will it end?
Crash groggily opened his eyes to find himself inside in what looked like an abandoned warehouse. The bandicoot attempted to move his body with any of the strength that he did have, but he found himself in too much pain to make any move. Giving him the assumption that it was probably a better idea to sit and wait to see what happened next.
The bandicoot's ears perked up when he heard the sound of a door opening. The outside light blinded his tired eyes before they adjusted to see a couple of Cortex's minions along with Elena walking inside the warehouse.
Crash tried to pull himself up, just barely getting himself into a seated position.
"Looks like you've finally woken up." Craig smiled as his red eyes seemed to glow in the darkened room.
"Why did you bring me here?!" Crash demanded. "What are you planning?!"
Elena slowly walked toward with him; not taking her dark eyes off his emerald ones.
"We thought it would draw less attention if we brought you here to finish the job." She said, quietly.
"Why are you doing this?!" The bandicoot cried.
Craig kicked him in the stomach.
"Nothing personal really, but you did cause Dr. Cortex a lot of trouble; and that is something that cannot be forgiven. You can flip it any way you want with your: "Cortex is causing harm to the greater good.": or that junk. Yet you cannot and will not understand the fact is that the new world order of Cortex is just upon us. You may have stopped him, but you have only caused setbacks; you haven't put a permanent end to the cycle. It has only continued to grow more and more with each passing day. You know this; you know this since Cortex is becoming harder and harder to defeat. So what will you do when you are no longer a match for him?"
Crash stared at the minion not believing what he had just said; but there was one thing he couldn't deny no matter how much he wanted it, he was right. He didn't put an end to the cycle at all. He just continued place a pause in the reaction, but that pause would only last so long; and when it was put back into a play, the cycle would resume again, but at a much more dangerous rate.
Cortex was getting more and more difficult to defeat; and the horrifying thought to that truth was if he continued to let this cycle resume it's never ending rotation, then there wouldn't be a world left for him to save. If he was still alive that was.
The bandicoot pulled himself up as he glared at the two abominations.
"I may not yet know how to put a permanent end to this never ending terror, but I can assure that I will keep fighting like I always have. Evil will never reign as long as I am still alive and breathing."
Craig charged up his cattle prod as Elena transformed back into her hybrid form.
The minion turned his head toward the others.
"Go back to base; this bandicoot is mine..." He ordered.
"He's mine as well." Elena added as she spoke in her hollow voice.
The minions scurried out of the warehouse like frightened mice about to be pounced on by a hungry house cat.
Crash went into a fighting stance. He would not these two abominations overpower him. He couldn't; if he did, he was basically telling Cortex and Tomas: "Okay, I'm giving you full control to do whatever the hell you want to do." The bandicoot couldn't let leave the world as the two monsters playground. He had to keep going; otherwise this world would deeper and deeper into the abyss.
Crash turned towards as be began to charge towards him, but the minion just moved out of the way. Even going as far as to shock Crash against his side.
The bandicoot cried out in pain as he tried to catch Craig again. Elena saw that the bandicoot left a vulnerable opening as she quickly swooped in and using her razor sharp feathers, she sliced the bandicoots other side.
Crash screamed as he felt his entire body ache with pain. How could things have gotten this bad? How after so many times of Cortex and his minions over and over and over again, did they come back faster, stronger, and smarter? What was the secret that made these minions so powerful that even Crash himself couldn't defeat as easily as he could in the past.
What was the horrifying secret about Elena and her kind? Were they alive or dead? How did they come back to life and what was this demon power that their master seemed to hold over them?
And worst of all, where did Tomas fit in all this? Was he born with his powers; or did he gain them at a certain point in his life? What possessed him to create these monsters?
Crash shuddered as he wondered if he really wanted an answer any of these questions at all.
He pulled himself as went back to attack the two again. Elena swooped down and attempted to slice through the bandicoot again. This time however, Crash saw an opening and just as the abomination raised her wing to strike, the bandicoot double jumped into the air before kicking her in the stomach. Sending her crashing her to the ground. Her pale face was twisted in pain as she screamed.
Craig turned towards her before he focused his attention back on to the bandicoot.
Charging his cattle prod again, he charged toward the boy. Crash saw this at the corner and was ready. However the invincible wind seemed to rush around him again. The bandicoot had no time when he felt another cut rip into his side. His body cringed in pain at the cut and that gave Craig enough time to smash the bandicoot into the wall.
The bandicoot's body felt like it had been rip to shreds. No matter what he did to counter his attack, the two in front of him somehow seemed to remain one step ahead. Crash was starting to convince himself that he was actually going to die.
That's when he felt something start to burn. At first he didn't know what it was. Either it was the building catching on fire or his body burned with pain; but when he felt the burning becoming larger and larger that's when he started to realize what it was. It was rage. The very same rage he felt when Tiny had overpowered him in the gladiator arena during the events of the Time Twister. The very same rage that got the better of him when he had his altercation with Cortex. He had felt several time before during his recent adventures, but it was now it was back at its full breaking point that he hadn't felt since the Time Twister. All of if had been burning inside of him for three years now; and now it was just about to reach it's full breaking point.
Craig slowly walked toward him before he kicked his sore stomach.
Crash sat and took it as the fire continued to blare.
"I really thought you were going to put up a much better fight than this, bandicoot. I really did; but it looks you finally lost your stride. It may have taken years, but you've finally lost it. It's a shame really; when we younger, you had so much more fight in you. You never backed down from a fight. You managed to outrun us all. But the fighting spirit is gone now, isn't it Crash? It seems ever time we met you're becoming weaker and weaker; and now here you are and you're at the end of the rope, ready to fall into hell's abyss. But it was bound to happened Crash; you were bound to break at some point." The minion laughed as he kicked him again.
Crash felt his eyes blazing as he listened to every word. Even through the pain, he tried to find the power to continue fight the pain.
"Get up and keep fighting!" He kept repeating to himself." "You're just as strong as they day you washed up on the shore of N. Sanity Beach all that time ago. Crash couldn't believe that it was almost six years now. Time sure did fly.
"And the last occurring thought in your mind before you die will that you let your precious Jan remain in Master's clutches." Elena laughed.
That comment was enough for the bandicoot to finally unleash the rage that had building up inside him.
Without out warning Crash bolted to his feet and grabbed Craig by the neck before throwing him into the wall.
The minion stared in shock as he spat out a clot of blood.
Elena saw this and tried to strike again, but Crash was ready this time and gave her an uppercut to the chin sending her flying into a bunch or wooden boxes in a daze.
Crash saw that Craig was starting to recover some of his strength. The bandicoot almost immediately charged toward him and began punching him repeatedly while screaming.
"I'M NOT WEAK! I'M NOT WEAK!"
The bandicoot let his anger take over as he gave his tormentors there punishment.
Elena recovered again and began to charge towards her prey one last time.
However Crash had sensed this; and without as much as a warning, the bandicoot quickly turned around before completely ripping her arm off.
Elena screamed in horror and agony as she now saw severed arm/wing in the bandicoot's hand as she reverted back to her human form as blood gushed from the wound.
Craig sat there in horror rather surprised and a little worried that the bandicoot would go off on him next.
"YOU BASTARD! LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO MY ARM! IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO BAD!" Elena sobbed in rage.
Crash looked at the severed arm in his hand as if it were human feces. His rage had completely died away leaving horror and surprisingly guilt.
"I... I..." He tried to say.
"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS BANDICOOT! YOU'LL PAY!" She sobbed as she stumbled out of the warehouse, leaving a trail of blood behind her.
Crash turned his attention towards Craig.
The minion smiled.
"Congratulations, now you are no better than we are."
"No... NO!" Crash cried. "I didn't mean to!"
"I could see the look in your eyes; you felt so much satisfaction beating the crap out of the both of us. You wanted more and more; and you have fully embraced it."
"It was self defense!"
"Was it self defense when you beat up Tiny until he was bloody and unconscious?" Craig asked.
Crash looked down at his hands, shaking.
What was he becoming?
Craig slowly got up as he spit up some blood.
"I'll admit that I lost, especially I had fun time watching you spiral out of control."
Crash said nothing as he watched the minion begin to walk out of the warehouse.
Craig turned back one time.
"Oh and I have some good news and some bad news for you. The good news is that your friends destroyed three more generators for you. The bad news however is that those generators had to come at a high price and now all four of your friends are now are prisoners."
Crash glared at the minion.
"Good luck finding the rest of them on your own. You're going to need; especially after you sent a wounded Elena back to her master. Better you than me." The minion laughed before he disappeared from site.
Crash screamed in anger as he processed all that was happening around him. First Jan was taken by the Syndicate and now all of his friends were now in Cortex's grasp? When would the horror end?
He noticed a lone generator hiding in the corner and wasted no time smashing the accursed thing to pieces.
"18 down 12 to go." He sighed, bitterly.
He looked toward the sky as he saw the clouds coming back again.
Now he was really dancing on fire; he had literally ripped Elena's arm off in his rage and he knew that was going to bite him in the ass somewhere down the road.
But for right now, he had to keep going; he had to save his friends and the rest of planet before it was too late.
Without wasting anymore time, Crash ran out the door. Wondering what he should do next.
Well I bet a lot of you were really surprised about this weren't you? Well the events of this chapter or more than likely going to come back and haunt Crash somewhere down the line. But until then Read Review or PM. DUECES!
