Lost in Time

Part XIV

******************Chrom's POV***********************************************

Alright, we need to get back to Plegia and obtain that last gem! "My sister would never turn down a diplomatic gesture, no matter how foul."

Fredrick nodded, "Well spoken, Milord. However, I must advise caution."

Chrom nodded, "I'll make sure that everyone is armed to the teeth."

Fredrick, seemingly satisfied with that answer, started to walk out; but paused as he remembered something, "Ah, yes. A new map has opened in the northwest. I do believe that it was called 'The Ruins of Time'. We should check into it as soon as possible."

"Very well, thank you Fredrick," Chrom looked at his wife after Fredrick had left, "What do you think? Should we check out this new map or continue on towards Plegia?"

Danie smiled, "Lucina did say that she had a little brother, correct?"

Chrom wasn't sure that he followed what she was saying, "Yes, she did. What's your point, Danie?"

"Think about it," she prompted.

That's when it hit him like a ton of bricks, "Crud, alright let's go save our son. But how would we know if it was him?"

"Did you really just ask me that, Chrom?" Danie smirked at him, "His mother should know her son when she sees him, right?"

**********Time Skip***********

Chrom and his Shepherds got into battle formation, "Alright! We need to rout the enemy before this gets any worse!" Chrom called over the noise of the army preparing for combat, "Ready Shepherds? To arms!"

The army split into the usual partners: Chrom and Danie, Lissa and Fredrick, Sully and Virion and Sully, and Lucina was on her own. "Chrom! Be careful!" Lissa called as she and Fredrick opened a path for the Dark Flyer-Great Lord team.

"Don't worry too much, Aunt Lissa. Mom will take good care of him," Lucina smiled as she engaged in combat with a Risen Dark Mage.

Danie huffed as she took down a Wyvern Rider and zipped to where she was next to the tactician. "Chrom, you talk to him."

"Right," Chrom hopped off her Pegasus and poked the boy.

"Mmm…who are you?" the young tactician questioned.

"I would ask you the same. More importantly, why are you here? This is hardly a safe place to be wandering alone."

"I-I don't know, frankly. I woke up sprawled in a field: I can't recall anything before that."

Chrom sighed, "This sounds familiar…"

The tactician scrunched his eyebrows down to give him a confused look, "I…I think I remember my name? …Morgan? Yes, that's it. My name is Morgan."

Chrom rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, "I'm Chrom. And finding amnesiacs is apparently my special talent. I met someone very dear to me in the same way. Her name is Danie."

"Danie?! Is this friend of yours perchance a tactician?" Morgan looked up at him hopefully.

Chrom blinked surprised, "She is. Do you know her?"

Morgan's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "Yes, I know her! She's my mother!"

Chrom's eyes widened, "MOTHER! Then you're our…you're my…Morgan, stay calm and listen to me. Danie is my wife, which means you are likely my son who came here from the future."

Morgan stared at him like he was insane, "…WHAT?! But I…the future?! Is…is that why I have no memory? But wait, I remember my mother! So why don't I remember you?"

Chrom sweatdropped, "I don't know. Do you recall a sister named Lucina?"

"No, nothing like that…" Morgan also sweatdropped.

Chrom sighed again, "I suppose it's a blessing you at least remember your mother. Maybe something will come back once you've met with her and Lucina. Until then you'd best come with me. …And stay close, I don't want you hurt."

Morgan smiled at him, "All right, thank you. And don't worry—I can defend myself. You just lead the way."

"Right," Chrom glanced at Danie, "Let's finish cleaning up the Risen scum and continue on to Plegia."

She nodded, "Right, I'm following your lead, Chrom."

Chrom glanced behind him at Morgan, "Do you see that swordswoman over there?" He motioned towards Lucina.

"Yup," Morgan nodded. "What about her?"

"I want you two to team up. She's your sister, Lucina."

"Ok!" Morgan blasted his way to Lucina and partnered up with her.

"I can already tell that we're in for a lot of headaches…" Chrom muttered under his breath, causing Danie to laugh.

"Sure Chrom, just remember, he's our son."

"Yeah, yeah…I know…I hope Lucina can help him remember everything," Chrom sighed.

"Don't be getting your hopes up. Don't forget, I didn't remember much of anything when you found me, and I still don't really remember anything about my past," Danie smiled, "I'm sure that his optimistic outlook on life will lighten up the mood in the Shepherds. Just have a little faith in him Chrom!"

"You're right, as usual. Let's finish up here and get a move on. Destiny is stubborn business." Danie laughed at his phrase.

"I wonder where I've heard that before!"

Chrom rolled his eyes; How did I just know that was coming? Ugh….well, I guess that we'd better finish this up and get to facing that dastard before he gets too impatient and sends his men after us. "C'mon Danie, let's hurry up. The kids are beating us."

*****************Lucina's POV*************************************************

I'm glad that I have my brother back, but he doesn't seem to even remember me… How'd he even get here in the first place? Maybe…NO! That's not possible! Maybe if I asked him? Lucina glanced at Morgan as they headed toward the Risen chief at the far edge of the map, "Hey, remember anything yet?"

He blinked, "I dunno. Maybe."

Lucina took a deep breath to calm herself down, "Not exactly the answer that I was wanting, Morgan."

He whimpered, "S-sorry, sis…"

"That's fi—wait…did you just call me 'sis'?"

Morgan's face lit up, "Yeah, I guess I did!"

Lucina shook her head, "Little brothers…" She laughed, "Let me know if you remember anything else, ok?"

"Ok!"

Morgan: yup that's a cool ending. now, where's the next part?

Shut it, would you Morgan? I'm working on that.

Lucina: Please R&R...(while I go save my brother)
