'Because we need to talk…'
The words echoed in her mind as she was shoved into a room. Where? She didn't know. All she knew was that just before a blindfold was placed on her face, she saw the images of Tori, Robbie, and Jade coming forward and giving her the order to put the blindfold on. When Cat asked 'why,' all she got for a response was no direct answer. But just an action. And that action was her friend/former friends robbing her of her sight...
"Guys, can you please tell me what's going on?"
"Not just yet…" She heard Jade say in her slight tone. "Just got to get something together…"
But Cat didn't know what was going on. All she knew was that her mind was swimming. She initially thought being bailed out by Jade was a blessing, but now she wasn't quite sure. Half of her actually wanted to be back in her cell…
At least then she could know what was going on…
"Alright, we're good…" Jade finally said. Moving over to the seated redhead, she successfully pulled the blindfold off of redheaded friend. Cat looked at her strangely, only seeing her definitive features from the bleak light that was in the close curtained room.
"What's going on?"
"We don't need to be so malice, Jade." Tori said as she crossed the room and turned the lights back on.
"You two are the ones that are being so secretive." She sneered.
"You don't have to have her giraffe gagged, Jade!" Robbie yelled.
"Giraffe…" She whispered… Her eyes widened, "Mr. Purple!?" She started to get out of her seat and started to rummage through the room. "Where is he?"
"Relax." Jade told her. She then produced the giraffe in her left hand. Cat glared at her stuffed animal. It no longer was her innocent friend. Mr. Purple had his legs tied together and a gag wrapped around his nose.
"Cut him loose, Jade!"
"Cat, he's a stuffed animal. Nothing's going to happen to him." She told him. "He's not real."
She shook her head and turned to Robbie. "He is real. If anyone can understand that, it's you, Robbie. You think Rex is real."
"Rex is not real." Robbie said to her. "He's a damn puppet that was holding me back for years."
"Robbie…" Cat said with a whisper. Surprised to hear him say something like that. "I thought you needed Rex…"
"Rex is dead to me." He told her. "I don't need him. I don't want him. And I don't give a fuck about him." Cat just stared at him, eyes wide. Unaware that it was at that moment when Tori took that moment to slide her hand into his. Connecting the two of them with the simple gesture of them holding hands…
"But Robbie… I…"
"Robbie grew up." Jade told her. "He finally…"
Robbie let out a sigh. He took his hand from Tori, making sure that he flashed her a smile, and then made his way an opened chair. He brought it in front of Cat and took a seat. "You should've left Rex at your house…
"My house?" She asked aloud. Looking at him strangely, she asked, "How...?"
"Jade told us." Tori reasoned. "She told us that Yolanda sent him to you…"
"Right." Cat confirmed. "She gave me him so I can give it back to Robbie. Because she knew that he needed him."
"I don't need him Cat." Robbie told her harshly. "We… I… I left him there. I didn't want him anymore, and I knew that if I did bring him back with me… then…"
"Robbie would be in allot more pain." Tori told her. "He left him to rot."
"But I was supposed to save Robbie." Cat stammered…. "I was supposed to…"
"You were supposed to do nothing." Robbie said as he got to his feet. He then shook his head… "No… what you should've done…"
"Robbie…" Tori started… she gave him a knowing look. And even though words weren't spoken, Robbie understood…
"Look…" He slowly said, bringing his inner developing anguish down… "Rex… Rex was a part of my life that I don't need anymore. I left him in Yerba because I didn't need him anymore. Tori showed me that. She showed me allot. She showed me that there was more to life then… she…"
"Robbie, but she doesn't understand you…" Cat insisted. "She doesn't… no one does… no one ever could…." Cat stammered, tears starting to well… "We get… we… Robbie… "
Robbie let out a breath he was holding in. Cat was right… she was at one point… and maybe… if things were different… if she said 'yes' all those years ago… or if she was the one who got pulled into Yerba with him instead of Tori… But he couldn't think like that. He can't. There's no what-if's… there's no possible outcomes. Not anymore. Tori was his. Tori had no problem being his. She was destined to be his wife… she is going to be his wife… She's his Tori Shapiro…
"There is no us." He told her. "You above anyone know that. You said it yourself… You said 'no' when I asked you out…"
Cat shook her head… "I wasn't ready. I wasn't…" Tears started to well in her eyes. She was beginning to feel all that frustration again when it concerned the relationship of Tori and Robbie. Of the closeness they felt for each other, of the superiority they often felt, of the negligence and avoidance they often caused… the feelings of… "He never was supposed to end up with you, Tori. He never was supposed… He… you… it shouldn't be happening…"
"Which means what?" Jade asked, interrupting her verbal attack on Tori. "Robbie has no say in who he ends up with?"
"What?" Cat asked, shocked Jade actually came into the conversation.
"You just said that Robbie wasn't supposed to end up with Tori." She shook her head. "Wow, Cat. You really are dumb as a post."
"Hey!" She interjected.
"Jade, you don't have to…" Tori said, trying to steer her off interrupting.
"They don't have to explain themselves to you." She sneered.
"And you're okay with this?" Cat asked, surprised. "You're okay with everything going on now? This whole time you've been leading the anti-Robbie/Tori train. You've been tearing into them every chance you get, and you've been…"
"You weren't being held hostage, Cat." She shot back. "You weren't thrown into a room, while the whole jewelry store was being robbed, and you weren't even aware of what happened to Tori!"
"Wait… what?" Cat asked.
"Fuck Cat! They even paid for half your bail!" Jade snapped. She then turned to her two reunited friends, "You don't owe her a damn thing. We might as well just leave her trapped here. She doesn't even deserve your forgiveness."
"What the hell is going on?" Cat yelled.
"We don't deserve hers either." Tori said lightly.
"Allot has happened." Robbie clarified. "Tori and me, we've been hurt. And we've been talking about it too much." He sat down in a chair, and looked at Cat. "Tori and I came to finally put all this shit behind us."
Cat was about to say something when Tori interrupted her. "We love you, Cat. We do. We pushed all of you away for so long. So much so that we're wondering if we made up all those months ago we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now." Tears started to well in her eyes. "Cat, Robbie and I are about to leave Los Angeles, and we don't want to leave without finally putting our friendship back on track…"
And when she said that, Cat couldn't help but feel the pain and frustration she currently developed start to recede. Taking a seat, she watched as Tori sat on Robbie's lap. His arms wrapping around her chest, keeping her to him. He leaned over and kissed her neck, and then they both glanced at Cat. "We're leaving…"
"What do you mean you're leaving?" Cat asked, shocked.
"The less we say the better." Tori told her. "All we want you to know is that we love you. And we're sorry. We're sorry for everything. We've put you, Jade, Andre, Trina, and Beck through so much. We've hurt you all…"
"So much so that we thought we were helping ourselves…" Robbie added. "But with each day that we've come across since we've been back, we've been getting worse and worse. Sure, Tori and I've gotten closer. We're going to get married. And even when you see us next, it might be husband and wife, but right now… Now… we got to go…"
"But… why can't you stay?" Cat asked, tears in her eyes.
"We can't tell you." Tori said solemnly.
"Why?"
"Because they don't want any paper trails." Jade told her. "They have to think about who and who isn't safe to talk with. Beck and Sarah don't know anything. Andre knows some, but not allot. And I only know as much as I do because Tori's parents always felt that I was the 'Anti-Christ.'"
"I wouldn't say that…" Tori told her…
"Well… anyway, they think we don't get along. And we want them to keep them feeling that way."
"Which means we need to head out…" Robbie admitted. He withdrew his arm from Tori and watched she got up. Taking a breath, he stood up too. "Tori and I… we just wanted to say goodbye." He went up to his hopefully renewed friend and kissed her cheek. "We're sorry that we hurt you, Cat. I'm sorry that it didn't work out between us, but…"
"You'll find someone, Cat." Tori told her. She then grinned getting an idea. "Maybe you already have…"
"We got to go." He looked at Jade. "I trust you'll make everything 'okay' with Cat."
She smiled wickedly as she pulled out the blindfold. "That, I'll be more than ready to help out with."
"You're going to blindfold me again?"
"We can't take any chances." Tori told her.
"And Mr. Purple?"
"Relax." Jade produced the stuffed animal from her right hand. She took her left hand and took out the pair of scissors that she usually keeps on her.
"You're cutting him!"
"I'm 'freeing' him." Jade cut the rope that bound his legs together. "You can't tell anyone what happened here today."
"I'm not even sure if I know myself…" Cat whispered.
"Robbie and I just wanted you to know that we forgive you. We forgive everyone. There's no way you or anyone else could've done anything. Robbie and I got lucky getting out of Yerba the way we did. And that know the next time we see you… the next time we hope we all will be in a better place…"
"Jade is going to bring you home. She'll keep you blindfolded until you get there though. We can't risk anyone knowing where we currently are."
Tori looked at Jade and said simply, "Jade… I… We…"
"We're good." She reasoned. Glancing at Robbie, she asked, "Shapiro?" He looked at her. "You better protect that wife of yours."
"With all my heart." Robbie kissed Tori's cheek. "It's just us now…"
"The way we want it." She kissed him back. "Bye guys…"
"Later, Vega…" Jade said to her and stared to make her way to Cat, when she turned around. "Oh, and Tori?"
Tori turned back, "Lemme guess. Protect Robbie?"
"Fuck that." She grinned. "Fuck his brains out. He's going to need it."
"We're both going to need it.." Tori said slowly…
Then they left the room after closing the door.
Tori and Robbie left Los Angeles…
