It had been days since Elizabeth came to my home. I mainly saw Amanda with her mama. Honestly, it didn't surprise me. I figured they would be very close. In fact, the only time they pretty much saw me was when we ate. But we hardly ever exchanged words. I felt depressed. I hadn't slept well in weeks. And when I didn't, I grabbed a horse and went for a drink. Or I just bought a bottle of whiskey and came back home to drink. My nights were wasting away. When the last night for Elizabeth to be here came, I did something crazy.
