Chapter Fourteen: Overcoming his Fury
In the middle of the forest, Dagon was dodging the black wolf's furious attack.
"This that all you've got?" Dagon asked.
But the black wolf charged at him at high speed and bit down on Dagon's arm. Dagon winced in pain, as the wolf was slamming him against the ground. Dagon gritted his teeth, he surrounded his fist in rock and punched the wolf in the face sending it flying through a tree.
The wolf quickly recovered and rushed towards Dagon at high speed, sending out a barrage of slash attacks. Dagon dodged most of the attack, but was slashed terribly by most of them.
"So, this is Tsukiyomi's power. No, Hiei's consciousness is still remaining until then. This is all it can…" Dagon thought, as he saw a light appearing around the wolf's mouth.
It held its head out and fired off a large blast of energy, Dagon created a wall of earth. Dagon's wall of earth didn't last long, it blasted through his wall and sent him flying into the wall.
"I wouldn't expect less from him." Dagon stated, as he stood up his shirt started burning off. "Do you want to know what I gave up to gain this Teigu?"
Once his shirt was completely burned off a terrible X-shaped scar was over his heart.
"My heart, since you're putting your life on the line for this battle. I guess I'll give you the same pleasure." Dagon said, as the ground started shaking.
The shattered earth started surrounded his body forming into a rock armor and red lines appeared around the cracks of the rock armor.
"This is my Second Trump Card: Fire God Mode." Dagon called out, as he charged at the wolf.
Both Dagon and the black wolf attacks injured each other terribly, on the frontlines Lubbock and Najenda looked back.
"That howl just now, Hiei must've done something." Najenda stated.
"Why're you losing your focus?" A general from the revolutionary asked.
"Hiei must've unleashed Tsukiyomi." Another soldier responded.
"What do you mean?" Lubbock asked.
"It's Getsuga's Trump Card, once Hiei unleashes it his body will transform into Tsukiyomi itself." The general answered.
Both Najenda and Lubbock's eyes widened.
"What'll happen to Hiei?" Lubbock asked. "
Who cares, he's the same as his father." A soldier responded.
"Hiei's nothing like his father!" Lubbock shouted.
"Why are you defending him? He's nothing but a monster." The soldier responded.
"Why do you all hate him so much?" Najenda asked.
"We hated that arrogant expression of his, the only reason he remained with us was so he could kill his father." The general responded. "We humans can never coexist with the Danger Beast that also means Half-Breeds."
"Hiei don't you dare die on us." Lubbock said, as he gritted his teeth.
Inside of a dark realm, Hiei was walking aimlessly thought the darkness his eyes were lifeless.
"Just keep walking into the dark void and I'll give you the power that you need. To stop your father, to save your friends, to avenge your clansmen and your mother." A dark voice said to him.
"Where am I? Where am I going? I guess it doesn't matter anymore, I'll vanish in the darkness along with every other user of…Getsuga." Hiei stated.
He heard several dark and angered voices of Getsuga's past wielders.
"Are you an idiot?" A familiar voice asked, as they slapped Hiei across the face.
Once Hiei landed on the ground, he woke up inside of the Tsuki no Village.
"Wait, why am I back here?" Hiei asked.
"I never remember raising an idiot?" The same person asked.
Standing in front of him was a women with white hair and red eys, it was his mother Yukino.
"Mom, but I thought you were…am I dead." Hiei said, as he stood up.
"I really don't think you'd be able to feel pain if you were dead." Yukino said, with a slight sigh.
"But, it's too late there nothing I can…" Hiei stated.
He was hit on the back of the head by someone else. He turned around and saw an old man with a cracked sword on his side.
"You really have turned into a weakling, I never remember training an idiot." The old man said, with a terrifying scowl.
"Ugh, you're here to elder." Hiei stated, with a slight sigh. "I see you're still a violent old man."
The elder punched Hiei again, sending him flying towards the ground.
"Ow, stop hitting me!" Hiei demanded.
"You weren't always like this, you always trained with great energy and life. But look at you now, to defeat your father you gave into the power of Tsukiyomi." The old man responded.
"Tsk, you're one to talk." Hiei responded.
"It was a time of war during that era. But I never gave into his control and in the end I took my life back. That's why I created the Tsuki no Village, to fight against the Danger Beast." The old man stated, as he looked around.
"Hiei, didn't make a promise to that girl?" Yukiko asked.
"What more can I do?" Hiei asked as he looked down.
"Maybe our proverb was right, maybe he did lose his sanity. Yukiko let him find his own answer." The old man said, as he vanished.
"Hiei, I just wanted you to know. The kindest thing that man ever did, was help me give birth to you." Yukiko added, as she vanished.
Hiei again continued walking through the endless void, in front of him was Tsukiyomi. A large red eyed black wolf nearly the same size as the Tyrant.
"That's right, come closer." Tsukiyomi said, as he was prepared to vanish.
"H…"
"Hie…"
"Hiei!"
Two lights shined in Hiei's jacket pocket, and the life started returning to his eyes.
"A…ka…me." Hiei called out, as his eyes widened.
"What's wrong, I thought you wanted power." Tsukiyomi stated, as he looked down at Hiei.
"I just remembered, I had something I wanted to ask her." Hiei responded, as he glared at the large wolf. "So, I'm not dying here. I'm not losing my sanity."
A bright white light appeared under Hiei's feet, the wolf laughed at his attempts.
"Do you plan on taking back your body? Do you think that you can fight against my will?" Tsukiyomi asked.
"I'm taking back my body whether you like it or not." Hiei answered, with determination in his eyes.
Outside Dagon was holding the wolf up by its neck, and blood was leaking from the earth armor.
"That was quite some battle…but it looks like I came out on top." Dagon stated as he dropped it on the ground.
"I wonder what face Akame will make after I tell her you're dead." Dagon said, with a smile. He started walking away and headed towards the battlefield.
Inside of the darkness the white light started growing larger and larger, Tsukiyomi only laughed at Hiei.
"You little rat, who do you think you're talking to? My power far exceeds anything you're capable of." Tsukiyomi stated, as he laughed at Hiei.
Hiei's expression was unwavering, this started bringing back terrible memoires to the dark wolf.
A century ago, he was hunted down and killed by one man.
"Tsukiyomi, your death will bring about a new beginning. You'll continue to live as a powerful weapon and you'll still continue to take the lives of others. Though mark my words, you may be a dangerous creature." The one talking to him, was the younger version of the old man. "But one day when I'm gone, you will find that one person who's not afraid of you. And on that day, you will find peace."
Tsukiyomi looked down and saw the unwavering expression on Hiei's face.
"I'm taking my body back right now!" Hiei shouted.
The darkness and the angry voices vanished completely. The dark world transformed, in a grassland field and standing behind him was Tsukiyomi.
"It seems you were able to overcome my influence, humph I guess this is my end." Tsukiyomi said, as he started to vanish.
"Really, you're just going to leave without a fight?" Hiei asked.
"I don't enjoy talking to humans." Tsukiyomi answered, as he closed his eyes.
"You idiot, don't forget I'm not fully human" Hiei stated, with a smirk on his face. "So you can at least give me a reason."
"Fine, I'm an Yōkai who exists to cause fear and destruction where ever I go. After being sealed inside of Getsuga, I still caused fear and destruction as I was passed from user to user over the century. During each conflict there was on brave enough to use a trump card that would kill them. But, you weren't afraid after knowing what would happen you still used that power." Tsukiyomi answered. "Also, they would never realize what Getsuga's true power was."
Tsukiyomi vanished, remaining stabbed into the ground was a pitch black katana and surrounding was an ominous energy.
"So, this is what you're supposed to look like." Hiei said, as he unstuck the sword from the ground. "Alright let's go…Mangetsu."
In the real world, Dagon was standing behind the soldiers from the revolutionary army.
"Dagon, wait does that mean." Lubbock said, as he prepared to attack.
"If may be weakened, but I can still tear you all apart." Dagon stated. "I'll start with you first traitor."
Dagon charged at Najenda, but Lubbock wrapped wires around his right arm.
"I've heard about this Teigu, the strings may be powerful but I'll just pull you in." Dagon responded, he pulled on the wires with all his strength.
Lubbock was sent flying towards him, and Dagon's right hand was emitting large amounts of heat. As he was inches away from crushing Lubbock's head, a gust of wind passed by him. In seconds, Dagon's entire right arm fell on the ground.
"What the hell!" Dagon shouted, as he placed his hand on his wound.
"Oh, I missed. But I guess I'm just going to have to get used to this new sword's weight." A familiar voice said. "Though, I'm getting the hang of it.
Standing there with his back turned was Hiei, his sleeves were ripped off, his clothing tattered, his hair grew passed Hiei's neck and on his shoulders were two dark red stripes.
"Alright, father let's see if you can face me now." Hiei stated, as he turned around.
Hiei's eyes became a darker shade of red, and two stripes appeared on each of his cheeks. "
Are you really that same little…?" Dagon said, but in seconds he gained a large gash on his chest. "He broke through my armor, is he truly the same kid."
"No I'm not, I carry the full power of a Wolf out for Justice." Hiei declared.
