okee dokee so quick note, if you remember Pastor Colin's wife Jamie Wilson from Chapter 12, that's right, Jamie Wilson. Well, that just doesn't sit right with me since Idol is Jamie also. I went back and changed Jamie Wilson to Beth Wilson.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
"It's weird seeing you walking." Scene comments as Intern 2 walks into her apartment for the first time since getting his cast off. "Anyway, let's get your stuff so you can get home."
"Um, yeah." Intern 2 walks into the bathroom to grab his dental hygiene things as Scene falls on the couch, sighing. She frowns at the ground. Nothing has been the same between them lately. It's not how it used to be during MyMusic and it's definitely not how it was the past couple months. Nonetheless, she hasn't said anything. Just goes about her business with him, wondering if he feels different.
"Okay, so my suitcase is all packed, and here are my dental hygiene products." Intern 2 walks back out, and sits next to Scene. "Thank you so much for letting my stay with you while the doctors instructed bed rest." He kisses her cheek and she sighs, sensing the scent of smoke is fainter than before. Before she can think much of it, he stands again. "Shall we go?"
"Uhm, yeah." Scene nods. They walk out to her car. She doesn't say much as she drops him off, but he pauses before getting out of the car.
"Thank you again for everything." He says. Scene just sighs and continues looking out the windshield at the tall apartment building in front of them. Intern 2 frowns, nods solemnly, and gets out to get the suitcase out of the trunk. Scene feels her heart beating faster, like she has to do something. But, what?
As Intern 2 walks up to his front door, pulling the suitcase behind, Scene gets out of the car. As she slams the door shut again, Intern 2 turns around, keys still in hand. Unsure of what exactly this is, what she needs to do, she runs up to him, grabs his face and pulls him into a kiss. After the brief touch is over, Intern 2 laughs subtly.
"Why did you do that?" He asks as Scene's hands come down to rest on his shoulders.
"I forgive you." Those words hadn't rushed out of her mouth that hastily ever before in her life. But the coldness and emptiness between the two since Monday had finally pushed her over the edge of wariness. Intern 2 slowly reaches up, and holds her hands in his. Looking into his eyes, she freezes, recognizes something is wrong, not everything is good. She pulls her hands back, fear of putting her trust in anyone or anything rushing back as fast as she forgave him.
"Scene, what's-" Intern 2 starts. Scene shakes her head.
"I gotta go." She says. She backs up to her car, opens the door, and gets in. She starts backing out of the parking spot, but unfortunately the window is cracked so she can hear Intern 2 calling her name several times before going into the apartment building.
Scene finds herself trying not to sob on her couch with no recollection of the drive. Shaking from fear that she just lost Intern 2, that trusting him is what caused this, and mostly that she has no one in her life. At all. The realization hits when she reaches for her cell phone to call someone but is at a loss. This recognition causes her to uncontrollably weep as she has no one left without Intern 2. He is the only thing in her life that she trusts.
In the ache of loneliness, she remembers the day she saw an awful human being smoking outside of a dingy warehouse near a tiny cafe. Seven weeks later, she's completely destroyed over her trust in said human.
