Chapter Fourteen

I held tight to Renesmee's hand as the Volturi came closer. I watched as they took an abrupt stop about a good couple of feet away.

I pushed Renesmee behind me and she went to hug onto not just my arm, but Edward's as well. Edward went to brush some of her hair to try to calm her down while I stood my ground. My daughter may be in her sixties, but she's still my baby. I wasn't going to let them look at her like she was a piece of meat.

I could see the fury in Rosalie's eyes as well as she glared at the Volturi. Emalie clung to her tighter as Emmett tried to restrain Rose and calm Emalie. He looked towards me with sadness in his golden eyes.

I sighed as I turn from them and look towards Alice and Jasper. Alice hugged tight to Jasper as they looked at the Volturi with caution.

After a few seconds of silence the leader of the Volturi made his way forward, Aro.

Aro is a sickly man with long raven black hair and bright red eyes. The strange thing is that when I looked into his red eyes I saw evil. When I looked in the Amazon's red eyes or Maggie's I saw kindness, even though they were blood red from drinking a human's blood. Vampirism is just our way of life. It's something we can't change whether we like it or not.

When I looked into Aro Volturi's eyes I saw murder and bloodshed.

The wolves then came forward just as Aro made his way to the front of his coven. Seth went to the front next to Emalie while Jacob headed towards us. He nodded his head at me while I shot him a grateful look as he stood in front of Renesmee.

"Hello," Aro greeted everyone. Carlisle stepped forward so he was in front of everyone on the snowy field.

"The child is half immortal, Aro. She is no threat, and these witnesses can agree to that," Carlisle said to the Volturi calmly.

"None of this makes any logical sense, Carlisle. There has never been a child that's been half immortal. She is clearly a fake," Caius accused.

"Can't you see the blush in her cheeks, or what about the warmth she gives off. Or hear the blood rushing through her veins?! Can't you hear her heartbeat?!" Carlisle said, his tone more fierce. I've never seen this side of Carlisle. He never came across as a very frightening man. I guess when it comes to his family he'll do anything for them.

"Artifice!" Caius yelled back at him.

"Brother," Aro hushed him with the slight motion of his hand. "I will decide whether or not the child is what they say she is." He then looked at all of us like we were his prey.

"Firstly, I'd like to see someone more central to the story. How about Emmett?" he turns to my brother and my breath hitches. "After all the child is clinging to your newborn mate. You must have an answer."

Emmett mumbled something under his breath and started to walk across the field. When he got there Aro grabbed his hand and began to search through his memories. Memories that were clearly not his. Memories that belonged to Emmett, Rosalie, Emalie, Edward, Renesmee, Esme, Carlisle, Alice, Jasper, Seth, me, and anyone in our family. Not Aro.

"I see you reunited with your younger sister. Isabella," Aro said, emphasizing the sound of the 'a' in my name. I winced hearing his sickly sweet voice.

"I'd like to see the child," Aro announced to everyone.

Emmett sighed hearing this as he turned to Rosalie. She looked down at Emalie and then took her hand in hers. Seth followed with a look of determination on his face. I could sense the fear in Leah as she watched her young brother part from her. I could relate to Leah a lot right now, after all my big brother is up there too.

Rosalie then turned to look at us with a slightly nervous expression. "She wants us to come," Edward whispered in my ear.

I looked at Rose and gave her a small nod.

Renesmee turns to us with pure fear in her eyes when she sees this. I could see she was clearly nervous of our fate.

I kissed her temple to reassure her we're going to be fine before I walked up with Rosalie, Emalie, Seth, and Edward. I made sure to show no emotion on my face as I got closer to them.

When we approached Aro I got a closer look at his creepy guard.

I saw the blonde right away giving me a glare. It was Jane, and her witch twin Alec was right next to her. The strongest of the guards, Felix and Demetri, were smiling wickedly at me.

I scrunched my nose in disgust before I turned to see her. None other than Irina Denali. She stared at me while I frowned at her. She was taken by this as she then looked down at her feet.

"Quite the protection," Aro mused seeing us all crowd around Emalie, ready to fight if he laid a hand on her.

"She's family. We protect family," Edward answered harshly before Rosalie could make an even nastier comment.

"Of course, Edward," Aro replied before turing to look down upon little Emalie.

"Hello, Aro," Emalie said confidently as she placed her hand in Aro's papery white hand, letting him see her memories. Emalie looked at him blankly as he looked at all of her memories.

He grinned in delight as she then pulled away, heading over to her parents.

"I'd like to see young Renesmee as well, the secret child of Edward and young Bella." I turn to my mate, who looked clearly pained. He motioned for Renesmee to come. I could hear her heart begin to quicken. Alice, Jasper, Nahuel, and Jacob took a side by her as she began to walk up to face Aro. She kept a straight face as she walked straight up to the brothers.

"Hybrids are not dangerous. Nahuel and I are hybrids and we are just like the child. We are like you, except we have beating hearts and human qualities. That's all," Renesmee said firmly.

"Show me," Aro said, holding his hand out. Renesmee sighed as she then went to place her hand on Aro's cheek. He seemed marveled by her power and began to grin as well. When Renesmee was done she retraced behind to Edward and me. Jacob nuzzled against her leg trying to comfort her. Nahuel also took a spot right next to Renesmee and Emalie. He was frowning at the Volturi, ready to protect his sister if anything happened.

From there we all departed as fast as we could from the scene.

"He is interested in them, he wants them for his 'collection'," Edward whispered into my ear.

"Collection?" I frowned as I looked at Renesmee, Nahuel, and Emalie.

"He is interested, but he's more interested in you, Alice, Zafrina, Kate, and I because of our powers," Edward murmured to me. I sighed as I grab his hand and look back at the Volturi.

"The children are half mortal, half immortal," Aro exclaimed, telling his coven of the news. They all seemed shocked at this as they looked at Emalie, Nahuel, and Renesmee.

"This is impossible," Caius concluded.

"You think they fooled me brother?" Aro questioned. Caius was silent for a moment.

"Bring forward the informer," Caius barked. Felix and Demetri pushed Irina forward. She could tell she was in trouble as she looked at her sisters and then at us.

"Is this the same child you saw?" Caius questioned her.

"I don't- I don't know."

"Jane?"

"She's bigger!" Irina said softly.

"Then you're allegations are false," Caius snapped at her.

"Look the Cullen's are innocent and I take full responsibility for my actions," Irina said sadly. I looked at Kate and Tanya both fearing for their sister.

"I'm sorry," She apologized, looking at Rosalie and then me. Before I could comprehend on what he was doing they ripped Irina's arms off. I pulled Renesmee into my chest and Rosalie did the same for Emalie.

I heard the screams of the Denali's and the others as Caius then light her on fire with his torch. I looked in fear at the scene in front of me.

Irina Denali was now dust.

Tanya and Kate were struggling to save their sister, but it was no use. She was gone.

"Tanya, stop this is just what they want," Edward hissed at her. She growled, but then her and Kate just slumped in defeat. Garrett restrained Kate while some of the other guys got Tanya.

The Volturi grinned evilly at us as we all looked at the dust that once was Irina Volturi's body. I felt some pity for her, but sadly I think this is what Irina has wanted for a long time. She never was happy with her life.

Jane Volturi's eyes wondered across the field until they met my mate, who was walking back over to me after trying to restrain Tanya. Her eyes then focused on him.

"No!" I cried out without thinking.

"Pain," Jane simply said, smiling.

That's when Edward fell to the ground in pain. I felt my eye's widen as he collapsed to the ground. My heart constricted seeing him like this.

"Edward!" I yelped, my voice cracking.

"Daddy!" Renesmee cried out as she ran over to him, tripping in some of the snow along the way.

"Uncle Eddie!" Emalie gasped, looking at her uncle wither in pain. Rosalie gasped in shock as well, but pulled her into an embrace so she couldn't see anymore.

Renesmee ran over with Emmett and went to Edward's side. Jacob was trotting right behind her, ready to attack if he had to.

"Dad?" Renesmee asked seeing if he would respond, cradling his face in her hands. It looked twisted with pain as he gasped out. "What's going on?" She asked as she turned to Emmett.

"Jane," He simply replied, glaring at the small blonde.

I stayed put. As much as I wanted to run to Edward's side, I could stop her.

"Bella?" Alice questioned, slightly confused. "Why are you not over by-"

"I think she's working on something, Ali. Do your thing Bells," Jasper said, winking at me.

I nod at him and began to concentrate on my shield. I felt it expand and slowly it surrounded all of us.

Jane stumbled backwards in shock all of a sudden while Edward gasped for air. Success!

Renesmee and Emmett went to help Edward up. I then rush over to his side and gave him a half smile. He smiled back once he was good and on his feet again.

"I've got you," I said to him softly as he stumbled a bit.

"Thanks." He smiled softly at me. I smile back and go to hug onto him by the waist.

"It was nothing," I told him. He chuckled as he goes to kiss my cheek gently.

Aro seemed taken by my power. I sent him a glare as Edward and Renesmee returned to my side. I stepped in front of both of them, starring Aro and the other Volturi down.

"We need to discuss things over ," Aro announced as he went to look at his guard. I frowned and turn to look at Edward. I could tell he was trying to read their thoughts since their voices were soft and quiet. That's when Edward's eyes turned a charcoal black. He pushed Renesmee and I right behind him without notice.

Aro stepped forward with a grin on his look. "How do we know young Emalie could not be a threat, or how are we sure young Renesmee and Nahuel aren't threats either. Humans have posed a threat to us! With their modern technology...Maintaing our secret has never been more imperative. The known is only safe, and these children aren't something safe," Aro concluded. I felt my heart sink. This was it.

"Aro, Emalie is just a child," Carlisle said to him. "My friend, the hybrids, they are no threat to us. There doesn't need to be violence."

"On the contrary Carlisle, I believe there needs to be," Aro announced firmly. "Your coven along with all these other covens have been a threat to the Volturi for years now."

"It doesn't have to be like this!" Alice cried out all of a sudden. "Do you want to die as well? Because that is what will happen!"

"My dear Alice, I don't think your silly visions can change my mind," Aro said to her. I looked to see Caius grinning wickedly, Marcus could care less, and all the others looked bloodthirsty.

"Renesmee, go!" I said as I turned to look at her. "Take Emalie, you need to go!"

"Wait, I can't-"

"Renesmee," I chided at her, my tone stern.

"I can't leave you, dad, Aunt Alice, Uncle Jazz, Nahuel- What about Nahuel? He's one too!" She protested.

"Mi hermana, you need to go. I will be fine. Just protect your cousin," Nahuel told her.

"Please go, Renesmee. It'll be fine," Edward said softly.

Renesmee sighed, biting her lip as she then rushed over to Jacob and hugged onto him.

I turn to Rosalie who has Emalie in her embrace. "Rose, it's time," I whispered to her.

"I know," She said softly. "Thanks again, by the way."

With one swift move she scoops up her daughter and places her on Seth's back. Poor little Emalie knew was what happening as tears formed. Tears formed in Seth and Jacob's eyes as well as they had the girls placed on their backs.

"You take my daughter and you protect her, got it?" I instructed Jacob. I then look up at Renesmee as tears welded in her eyes.

"Protect Emalie, tell her all about our world. Keep her safe with Seth. I love you," I told her quickly.

"I love you too. I promise. Just be safe," She said as tears fell down her cheeks.

"We will," I replied, giving her a half smile.

Renesmee and Emalie then darted out of the area on Jacob and Seth. Renesmee looked one last time at us with Emalie, but soon they disappeared within the trees and I could not see my daughter or niece anymore.

Aro looked furious.

"I will not stand for this. How dare you defy my coven!" He growled fiercely.

"Well, let's get this straight. No one messes with my family, buddy. Got it?" Rosalie snarled at him, beginning to get all 'Momma bear' on him.

"We won't stand for your rule any longer either," I added, looking at our allies.

"Let's do this!" Emmett boomed, getting into a running position.

"Very well," Aro simply said. He then raised his hands up in the air, indicating for the Volturi to charge. We didn't waste time either as we charged straight at them.

I ran with Edward and Emmett by my side. At least I would die with my family.

I just hope that Renesmee and Emalie can live happy lives.

The first vampire I see I knock his head right off. I put my mental shield up, protecting the others from Jane's wrath. I knew if anyone was going to take Jane down, it was going to be me. Edward was occupied with Demetri and Emmett had Alec.

Right now Jane was in the process of trying to hurt Jasper. I charge at the little she witch and knock her straight off her feet before she could do anything to my brother. She growled as we both looked at one another. I had her pinned down to the ground as I try to rip her head off.

"Aww the little shield, have fun beating me." Jane sniggered, pushing me off of her.

"Think again," I snarled as I lunge for her neck. I get Jane on the ground once again as she snarls and spits. I try to rip her head off, but she's like a hissing tiger. I then feel someone rip me off of her. Of course, it's none other than Alec. My mind starts racing. Where's Emmett? What did Alec do to him?

"Let go of me!" I growled. I kicked Jane in the process as I tried to break free from Alec.

"I don't think so," He chided as his hands went to my neck.

"No one man handles my sister!" I heard a loud bear boom.

I felt a smile form on my face as I look to see it's none other than Emmett.

He flings himself at Alec, knocking me of his grip. I then turn to Jane as she tries to go after Alice now. I kick her in the back, knocking her to the ground. Once I get a hold of her, I grip to her as she spit at me. With all of my force I ripped her head clean of her body and threw it towards Aro and the brothers, who were clearly just watching us with amusement and fear.

I turn to see Emmett ripped Alec's head clean off. He sent me a grin as I go to give him a quick high five.

"No one messes with the McCarty siblings," he said smugly.

"You're damn right," I said.

I began to attack vampire's left and right after that. Now that Jane is gone no one really needs to worry about her attacking anyone. My next target is Renata. She has her shield up, but I easily get past her with the help of Alice and from there we take her down. Jasper helped me take down Chelsea and her mate as well.

Benjamin heads into the middle with a determined look on his face. He was already taking out most of the vampires with his powers. He was setting them on fire and causing great gusts of wind to knock them off their feet. That's when he caused a large crack in the middle of the field, allowing us to push many of the Volturi guards into it.

The snowy white field was covered in bodies of the Volturi guard. The only ones left really were Aro, Caius, Marcus, the wives, and a few others who refused to fight.

Caius tried to get past them, but was only dismantled by Kate, Tanya, and Garrett. Marcus did nothing and was just dissembled by the Romanians. I looked at Aro, starring him down.

He. Is. Mine.

I charge at him. I notice Edward joins me as we charge at him. Emmett and Rosalie join as well as they charge at the leader. Edward jumps him first while I try to get a hold of his head. Emmett was able to grab him by the waist while I went to hold down his head. Rosalie was right behind us, ready to take off his head. We would have gotten his head wiped off clean, but another vampire came charing at us. When he came barreling at us, his force was able to knock all of us down with Aro. We all tumble around the field while Aro gets up quickly with the help of the guard.

Emmett and Rosalie were now getting up and going after the Volturi guard while Aro had Edward in his grasp. I growled seeing his grip on Edward's neck.

"Move, Isabella, and it comes off," Aro said as he gripped onto Edward's neck. "Surrender to me or lose your love."

"Bella!" Edward gasped out. "Don't surrender!"

"Let him go you bastard!" I growled. Emmett was at the moment sneaking up behind him and decided to make the move of jumping Aro from behind.

This angered Aro as he pushed Emmett away. Rosalie went to punch Aro after he hurt Emmett and I followed to back her up, but that's when he just simply knocked us both.

That's when I heard Edward yelp in searing pain. I looked to see Aro trying to take off his arm.

That. Is. So. It.

I lunge at Aro and grab him by the head. Emmett grabs Aro's body while Rosalie goes to knock his head clean off with her foot.

Once Aro's dissembled body parts hit the ground the battle field was silent. I looked to see all eighteen of us were still standing and all of the Volturi were gone.

I don't know how we did it, but we did. I noticed many were injured, but it wasn't anything we couldn't fix.

I didn't waste time running to Edward, who groaned in pain. I looked to see his arm was ripped right out of his socket. I winced seeing him in pain as I gently grab it.

I pulled Edward's limp body into my arms and hold his head close to my chest. I then go to slowly place the limb back into Edward. He mumbles something as I go to kiss his head.

"I was worried about you," I whispered to him, stroking his messy hair gently.

"Sorry, love," He said, his voice sounding as if he just woke up. I smiled as I kissed his bronze hair and pulled his head closer to my chest. I slowly fixed him as he's laying on my lap.

"I love you," I whispered to him.

"I love you too," He whispered back. I smile as I go to help him up. He'd probably need Carlisle to look at it, but for now it was good enough. His arm was deep enough in that it wouldn't fall out.

"Belle! We did it!" Emmett exclaimed as he came ramming at me. I felt his arms wrap around me as he swirled me around in the air. I chuckled as I hugged tight to him.

"We did," I said softly, gripping onto him with all of my might.

"Bella!" Alice chirped as she ran over to me and brought me into a pixie hug. I chuckled as I hugged back and motioned for Jasper to join the hug. The three of us smiled as we slowly pulled away.

"It's over," I said happily. "No more hiding and no more worry. We're free."

"Now we just have to get a hold of Emalie and Renesmee," Rosalie said, half smiling at the thought of her daughter and niece.

"They should be close to the airport," I murmured. "It was a flight in Seattle. I didn't want the Volturi finding them anytime soon."

"Well let's go find them!" Rosalie said, smiling. "I miss my baby."

"Come on," I said, motioning towards the direction they left.

"No!" Alice shrieked all of a sudden, making us stop. I notice Edward's head whipped up and he started to growl. I was startled by this, but looked back at Alice. "Wait!"

"What is it?" I asked alarmed as I ran over to her with Jasper.

"It's not over! Renesmee and Emalie- they're in trouble.'"

If you look at my blog, you'd know I 'casted' Nina Dobrev as Renesmee. Well, we all have stories were we used Nina as a character. So we decided it would be fun to make a story if all of them met up with one another. More info is on my blog if you'd like to read more up on it. It's called the FanFiction Doppelgangers, and it's on BellaNessieCullen's account. Also I might be starting a FanFiction one-shot contest. I don't have everything organized yet. I was thinking that the theme could be anti-bullying. I don't know entirely yet if I want to do it, kind of really busy, but I just want you all to keep an eye out about it. More info is on my blog (which you can access through the link on my profile).
