Walking through the halls of the Star Destroyer class ship "Victory", was none other than Princess Amara'Banon herself wearing in what looks to be black and red combat gear that fit her slim figure. On her right hand, she is carrying a helmet and on her hip, gifted to her on her twentieth birthday, her own light saber.
She gracefully yet with determination stepped into the hangar bay, walking towards a transport shuttle that has two AT-DPs loaded onto it and a garrison of troops inside. Following close behind her was the Captain of the vessel.
"Your Majesty, I understand your need to help, but this is impractical of you. Your safety is our number one priority." The Imperial captain said trying to reason with Amara. She turned her head towards the captain with an Icy glare.
"Captain!" She snapped with force. "While I understand my safety is important, the lives of the civilians below are just as important as mine is! And god damn it, I'm going to fight for them as any good leader should!" She shouted at the captain, said Captain made no standing argument back to her as he was in shock that she yelled at him and that she won't back down from this rash decision.
"Now if you'll excuse me…" she said as placed the helmet on, she looked towards him one more time before pushing a button on the side of her helmet, causing a "V" shape visor to polarize across her determined eyes to come down. "I have a colony to save." She said as her helmet augmented her voice, turning back to the shuttle and heads inside of it.
(A few Moments ago, within a prototype Imperial stealth frigate)
The Normandy, a prototype Imperial frigate designed by both Turian and the Martian people, to make a new ship for the Martian empire. Built to infiltrate almost anything.
Inside of it walked two imperial soldiers, one male and one female, walking together towards the bridge. Walking past various imperial officers along the way.
"Hyper drive is online and charge is at seventy-five and rising." Said Joker through the intercom, Joker is the Normandy's pilot and is known for his witty jokes and bad puns, "charge is now at one-hundred percent, jumping in five…four…three…two…jumping to hyperspace." Joker said with finality as the two Imperial soldiers now stood in the doorway of the cockpit. Revealing themselves as none-other than Commanders John and Jane Shepard, top graduates in the Imperial academy and war heroes of the Empire.
They both war standard heavy duty storm trooper class armor, with red shoulder guards with an "N7C" the N7 means that soldier is one the Elite, if a 'C' is at the end of it, it means they're also Commandos. The best of the best.
"Let's see…thrust: check, primary ignition: check, and drift…just 1500k." Joker said listing off the jump diagnostics, standing over his shoulder was a Council Turian Spectre named Nihlus. "1500 is good, your Captain will be pleased." Nihlus simply said before walking away from the cockpit and into another area.
When the Turian was just out of earshot, Joker took a sigh and said to himself. "I hate that guy." His Co-pilot and fellow Imperial trooper, Kaiden Alenko, looked at him oddly before saying. "Nihlus gave you a compliment…so you hate him?"
Joker raised his hands in mock surrender before saying, "Hey you remember to zip up your jumpsuit on the way out of the bathroom? That's good, I just jumped us half-way across the galaxy. So that's incredible!" Joker argued back at his co-pilot as he went back to his control panels. "Besides, Spectres are trouble. I don't like having them on Board, call me paranoid." Kaiden looked towards Joker quizzically before replying.
"You're paranoid. The council helped fund this project with the resources they had, they have a right to keep an eye on their investment. Even though this ships belongs to our Empire." Kaiden argued back, Joker looked away from the console and looked Kaiden once more.
"Yeah that is the Official story, but only an idiot believes the Official story." Said Joker as he looked towards the controls once more. The Shepard twins took this time to butt into the Conversation.
"This does seem a little bit like some controversy kind of crap you would see or hear about." Jane said continuing the conversation. Her brother then continued by saying, "You don't really send Spectres on shakedown runs, unless…he's a crappy one but I doubt it."
"So you see, there is more going on here-." "Joker! Status report." Said Captain David Anderson, cutting off Joker mid-speech. "We've just jumped past the Arcturus Relay Captain, will be at our destination in under a minute." Joker said giving his statistical report of the Hyperspace-jump. "Stealth systems engaged, everything is looking solid." Joker said finishing the report.
"Good. Find a comm buoy and link us into the network, I want mission reports relayed back to the Imperial brass before we reach Eden Prime." Captain Anderson said with authority.
"Aye, Aye Captain. Better brace yourself, sir. I think Nihlus is headed your way." Joker said jokingly. The annoyed tone of the captain maid pinch his nose in embarrassment. "He's already here Lieutenant …send down Commanders John and Jane Shepard for a debriefing." And with that the Intercom went dead.
"You get the Commanders?" Joked asked rhetorically, with a roll of the Eyes from Jane and a shoulder shrug from John, they both said together sarcastically. "He doesn't sound angry at all, I bet he has a special surprise waiting for us."
"Pfft…Captains always sounds like that when he's talking to me." "Can't possibly imagine why." Kaiden shot at Joker with a small grin as the Shepard twins left the Cockpit.
[In the Briefing/Debriefing/Conference room]
The Shepard twins walked into the Briefing room to see only Nihlus was in there with them. "Ah…Commanders Shepard's. I'd hoped you two would be here first, it gives us a chance to talk." Nihlus said with interest in his voice, peaking mutual interest from the Twins, John asked crossing his arms. "What about exactly?"
"Well…I'm interested in this world we're going to—Eden Prime. I've heard it's quite beautiful for being an Imperial world." Nihlus said stating his opinion, "Yeah, it is the first world ever colonized by the empire, and was led by the King and Queen even." Jane said with a tone of a history teacher to the Turian.
"Hmm, never knew that. I guess you do learn new things every day." Nihlus said simply.
"I've never been there, but I've always heard that it's a paradise." John said stating his wonder for the place. "Yes…a paradise, serene, tranquil, safe. Eden Prime has become something of a symbol for your people, hasn't it?" Nihlus asked as he turned towards the screen. "Proof that not only the Martian Empire can establish colonies, but also protect them. But how safe is it really?" Nihlus said ominously.
Not sure whether or not to take that as a disguised threat, the Twins placed their hands on their hips where their blaster pistols were instinctively. "Do you know something, Spectre?" Jane asked defensively clearly suspicious. To which Nihlus turned around to face them before continuing his speech.
"Even if your people aren't new to the Galactic stage doesn't mean, your empire is not still in danger." Nihlus said wisely, the Twins took their hands off their pistols and looked at him with a questioning look.
All of a sudden the door behind them opened, and in came Captain David Anderson. "I think it's time we tell the Commanders what's really going on." With a nod from the Turian, he continued. "This is far from a simple shakedown run."
"Yeah, we figured as much." The twins said simultaneously. "We're making a covert pick up on Eden Prime. That's why we needed the stealth systems operational." Captain Anderson explained.
"Well then…why all the secrecy sir?" Jane asked, her brothers body language suggested he was about to ask the same thing. "This comes down from the very top, this came from the royal family themselves, and this was a need-to-know basis."
"The research team down on Eden Prime uncovered some sort of Beacon during an excavation. It was Prothean." Captain Anderson said explaining the Situation to the Shepard Twins. "Well alright, but one Question? Why does a Turian Spectre have to be here?" Jane asked.
"Nihlus wants to see you two in action, Commanders. He's here to evaluate you two." Captain Anderson explained them, to which their eyes bugged out in surprise. "Well I guess that's why we bump into him every two seconds then." John said trying to joke at their situation.
"While the Empire hasn't pushed for this, some Imperial supporters of other races have. If they accept a Martian into their ranks it would both show how far the Empires come and raise Moral for every imperial citizen in the Galaxy." Captain Anderson explained.
"Both of your service records are impressive. Top Graduates of your Imperial academy, received the star of Mars after your show of Heroism of Elysium. Really brave of you two. Bravery is a remarkably rare talent to find in Spectres nowadays." Nihlus explained to the two shocked Commanders.
"Well alright then, for the greater good of the Empire." They said together, Nihlus nodded his head as he is clearly impressed of how loyal they are to their Empire. "This is only the first of many missions we'll be working together on you two."
"You two will be on the ground team. Secure the beacon and get onto the ship ASAP. Nihlus will be accompanying you to observe the mission." Captain Anderson said explaining the mission.
The twins gave a salute before saying, "Just give the word Captain." Anderson nods his head in agreement, "We should be getting close to Eden Prime any-."
"Captain! We just got a distress call from Eden Prime. You gotta see this." Joker said as he played the message on screen. Explosions left and right, soldiers falling to the ground either dead or injured. A soldier runs up to the camera and tries call for help. "We are under attack taking heavy casualties. I repeat: Heavy casualties! Most of which are civilians! We can't…Gah!—eed evac! They came out of nowhere! We need…" the trooper stopped mid-sentence to look up at the sky. The camera turns to see what looks like a giant hand coming down from the sky, reaching towards the ground, and then. Static.
Storm troopers firing left and right as blast fire goes everywhere, a woman in her storm trooper armor but her helmet. Runs up to whoever is holding the camera and shouts "Get Down!" Fear and shock present on her as she continues firing at the unknown enemy.
"And that's it, there's nothing after that. It's just static. On a side note an Imperial star destroyer has just arrived and is deploying a troop transport." Joker said explaining the transmission and what had arrived in the system. Anderson stared at the screen for a moment and said. "Thank you Joker for the information. I hope the colonists will make do with that before we arrive. Now reverse the transmission and hold at 38.5."
The image jumped back at the ship looking object, and he examined it for a moment before ordering. "Commanders, get your team geared up and ready. This mission starts now." He said with a firm authoritive tone.
"Yes sir!" they said saluting before sprinting out the door to get their ground team, when they left Anderson and Nihlus looked back up at the image and Nihlus asked. "What do you think that is?"
"I don't know…and I'm not sure I'll like it either way." He said as he left the briefing room.
(Back with Amara on the troop Transport)
As the transport landed, it had immediately come under small arms fire. The transport deployed the AT-DPs it had and the machines immediately went to work on blasting on whatever was shooting them. The opposition was robotic in nature and was easy to find due to the glowing light bulb eyes they had.
The Under-belly of the transport lowered and revealed Amara and a garrison of troops by her side.
"Advance and fire!" Amara had ordered with a hand pointed forward towards the enemy. The entire garrison charged forward and fired. Getting into some cover while doing so for some. Amara had stepped off the platform shortly after, and un-clipped her light saber from her belt and activated it.
The blade came to life in a bright yellow flash of light. Amara held the blade in front of her in an offensive position and charged right at the enemy. Slicing through the first enemy, she took a quick glance at what she was fighting and shocked to see it was Geth. Shaking off the initial shock, she focused herself back on to the fight at hand.
She ripped through the Geth line like it was tissue paper. Slicing through Geth one by one, and occasionally used her powers to either short circuit them or crush them into little metal balls. As she cut through the last Geth, she felt thumping of the ground coming from behind her.
Amara turned to see a larger version of the Geth standing before her but its color was lighter than the usual silver. She leaped to the right as the hulking machine smashed the ground where she was. She then tried to shoot lightning at the large Geth, which did work but instead of short circuiting it, it only was glitching out and walked like a drunk man towards her.
Deactivating her light saber and placing it back on her belt, she took a deep breath and raised her hand towards the Geth. Everything around her faded as she focused on her target, soon after the juggernaut was being lifted off the ground. The Geth looked around as if confused at what is transpiring.
Slowly Amara's hand began to close, which in turn, made a groaning sound as it was slowly crushed into a scrap heap of what it used to. Grey fluid spurting out, metal parts being disfigured and misshapen. The Geth began to scream in an unintelligible squeak and noises before cutting out, And soon it was nothing but a little disfigured metal ball. The world began to fade back into Amara's vision as she dropped the ball onto the ground with an audible 'clunk'.
As soon as she returned to her garrison she began to feel something around her, like a presence you get when you feel like you're being watched. A slow calming whistle sounded through her head. She had the feeling of something calling out to her, pulling her even. It was a new sensation for Amara, it literally caused her hold her head as head began to hurt.
"Your Majesty, are you alright?..." asked a trooper Garrison Commander. She looked towards the Commander and said, "N-no I'm alright commander, but thank you for the concern. I'm sensing something nearby…" Amara said, forgetting her helmet was still on, she looked towards an almost destroyed home. She walked towards it as the smooth whistle in her head got stronger, at the point where she was standing in front of the front door.
Amara took of her helmet to try and focus on what she was sensing. She placed her hand on the door and immediately felt something inside was distressed, in pain almost. Eyes widening in shock, she turned to the Commander and shouted. "Commander, I need someone to cut through this door and leave a Medic on stand-by!" Amara Ordered worriedly.
The Commander gave a nod of his helmet and looked towards two of his men. "Hyde! Jackal! Get your sorry hides over here, we need a door to cut down here!" he ordered, the two soldiers in question ran over to the door carrying welding equipment and went to cutting through it.
A minute later the door fell down and Amara ran inside looking around frantically. Slowly she heard the whimpers of a child, and so did the soldiers. She located the source of the whimpers and removed the debris.
To reveal a small battered up infant, no older than a few months. She pick the child up and identified the gender as female. She cooed "Shh, it's okay little one…we've got you." As she handed the small child to the medic.
The medic gently took hold of the child and checked the infant for any injuries of any sort, the Commander placed a hand on her majesty to comfort her, "Princess, are you alright?" She continued to look at the child as the medic carried her out. "Those machines will pay when I find a scratch on that poor girl."
The Commander stared at the princess in worry, Amara however could feel something, something alien with her senses. It was weird, confusing and most definitely. Not Martian, her eyes transfixed on the child. The feeling was at its strongest as she watched the child some more. Blinking her eyes away, she looked at the Commander, "Get the men ready. We must stop the Geth before they cause any more damage." Her eyes turned back to the child.
(Back with Commanders John and Jane Shepard)
"I'm sorry Commander, those rounds ripped through his armor like tissue paper. He's no longer with us." Kaiden said solemnly after examining Corporal Jenkins body. They had come under an Ambush by some mechanical drones, which had shot Jenkins after he went out onto the open road.
"God damn it!" Jane shouted as she turned around and blasted one of the native gas bag creatures with her blaster. John looked to his sister as he felt the same grief he did, he turned back to Kaiden and said. "We'll see to it that he receives a proper burial, for now we've got a mission to do."
"Aye, aye sir." Kaiden said before marching forward with his gun lifted slightly. John turned towards Jane and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey sis, are you going to be okay?" he asked in a brotherly manner, Jane turned towards him slightly and gave a long sigh.
"I don't know bro…I mean at least he died where he came from…but." "You wish he didn't die under our command." John said finishing her sentence, to which she gave a nod and hugged him for some comfort. She let go after a moment and said, "Okay I'm good…I needed that." She said calmly. John chuckled slightly and said. "Right. Well than, we have a mission to do so come on." Jane rolled her eyes as she followed her twin up the rocky hill.
Geth Recon drones flew over the top of the hill and started to spray the land with plasma, Jane stared as the rounds got closer, John saw her freeze and quickly tackled her. They hit the ground behind a tall rock, John shook Jane. Snapping her out of her daze, "Sorry, Jenkins." Her brother gently grabbed her hand and squeezed it comfortably. "Come on sis, let's kick a**." She smirked and stood, her pistol drawn out and fired. Kaiden watched as Jane effectively destroyed the Geth and walked to John, "Remind me not to get on your sisters bad side."
The group gave a small laugh and ran up the hill, more Geth drones attacked but were quickly dispatched by the Martin soldiers. Moving as fast as they can, they came at sight of shock. A female Martian soldier was being chased by two Drones, tripping over a loose stone, she flipped onto her back while pulling out her pistol and fired. The shots destroyed the Drones, standing she moved her aim at three Geth Troopers holding one of the colonist over a small tripod object.
Her angry smirk turned into horror as a spire shot out of the tripod, impaling the colonist, his screams dying as he was dragged up into the air. The Geth turned and raised their weapons to shoot the soldier, the lead Geth was suddenly shot as gunshots echoed and impacted the other two Geth. A Geth tried to shoot at the shooters only to get tackled by the running soldier, she pulled out a knife and smashed its optic in. Damaging it, its sputtering screams eventually faded.
The Martin soldier turned to see the Normandy group March up to her. John looked at her and asked, "Are you alright?" The woman saw the 'N7C' on his chest and immediately snapped into a salute. "Sir! Gunnery Sargent, Ashley Williams." John rolled his eyes as his sister chuckled, "Nice moves Romeo."
John saluted back, "At ease Williams. Now can you tell me what happened? Where's the rest of your platoon?" The Gunnery looked thoughtful as she lowered her hand. "My platoon was wiped out sir, I'm the only left, I abandoned them." Jane's eyes widened as John suddenly moved an arm over Ashley, "You did what you could and made the wrong call, there was nothing you probably could do." Ashley nodded.
Jane walked passed them and called out. "We have to get to the beacon before the Geth find it." John and Kaiden got their weapons ready and carefully walked towards Jane. "The Dig-Site isn't far." The group turned their heads at Ashley, "The beacon was uncovered down there," pointing down a pathway, "that's where the Dig-Site will be. Including the scientists that found it." Kaiden tapped Jane's shoulder and said. "I suggest we bring her along with us, she could help us against the Geth."
John agreed with this and spoke out, "Williams, it would be best if you come with us. To lead us towards the beacon since you know its last location." She smiled and began to lead the group down the pathway. After dealing with multiple Geth. The group arrived at the dig-site, stone ancient pillars rose up with various crates stacked about. Ashley was currently pacing back and forth. "The beacon was here not long ago!" Kaiden and John was moving up ahead to search for the missing science team or anyone nearby while Ashley and Jane searched the dig-site. "It's possible that it was moved before the planet was attacked." Jane replied while opening a crate.
"I know, it's just weird that it's just suddenly gone you know, I guess before I went on patrol. They must've moved to the space port not far from here." Jane looked at Ashley, giving a reassuring smile, "Let's get moving then," the two walked up the crevice path and stopped to check the area. John and Kaiden was trying to open a locked building, behind the two was three spires of the same design that the civilian was killed with sat there. Before any of them could take a step, a noise sounded. John and Kaiden turned around weapons ready as the spire began to move and lower. A strange metal creature fell off the spire tripod and started to jump onto its feet.
It faced Jane and Ashley, giving off a screech like growl and charged at them. Its mouth hanging open as the four opened fire, the husk fell to the floor twitching with Ashley muttering, "Oh my god," the other spires started to lower with more of the civilian husks fell to the floor. John and Kaiden circled around to stand with Jane and Ashley and together the group took down the former martins. No words was exchanged as they stared at the husks. Jane broke the silence. "What was that thing?!"
The others could only guess at what they were but they knew who they once were. John made his towards second building in the area, his Omni-tool flaring as the locked door opened, "Wait don't shoot!" The room was cramped with a desk and a chair. Inside was two people, a woman in her thirties or forties and next to her was an aging man. The woman held onto the man with a grip while the man's eyes darted from place to place before landing on the strike team.
The woman sighed relief, "Soldiers. Thank her majesty." The aging person next to her spoke next with a tone like he was rushing something. "Hurry! Close the door! Before they come back!" Jane walked forward with her hands up, "Your safe now." The woman smiled and mentioned that her name was Dr. Warren and her assistant is known as Dr. Manuel which Ashley confirmed as one of the scientists apart of the beacon team. John opened his mouth to speak but the crazy man interrupted. "No one is saved. The age of the universe is ended! Soon! Only ruin and corpses will remain!" The team was taken back. "You think someone hit him around the head with something?" Kaiden joked.
John looked at the other scientist and then back at Jane before holding a hand on his head. "Do you know anything about the beacon?" Dr. Warren replied with a smile, "Yes, it was recently moved to the spaceport. What we discovered about it is impressive. It is some kind of universal communication device, we were attempting to understand it. Until the Geth..." she trailed off before sighing to herself, "I'm sorry. The guards that was with us were killed trying to protect us." John and Jane nodded and they both gave a quick thought to collect the fallen soldier's tags.
Dr. Manuel suddenly marched forward, spun nonsense out as he spoke of an incoming end to all. Jane gave John a look but shook his head and placed a hand on his sister to prevent her own way of shutting him up. Instead. "We'll leave you to it ma'am. Another team will be on their way to escort you two off world, will he be okay?" Warren smiled and muttered a thank you before addressing her assistant, "He'll be fine. I'll give him his medicine and once he gets some sleep. He'll be fine, and thanks again." The team nodded and carefully walked out and headed towards the spaceport, an echoing gunshot sounded as the team suddenly dropped to couch positions and aimed their weapons, once they figured the area was clear, they reluctantly walked forward.
Above them within the spaceport was a towering metal construct. It's squid like frame raised up towards the clouds with its hand like claws grabbing the ground, a smoke began to pour out of it as it shook the ground, slowly but surely. The ship hovered upwards, the group watched in awe as it eventually disappeared into the clouds. Focusing Jane, moved up. Her blared as Geth appeared out of nowhere followed by the former martins, Kaiden and Ashley flanked the hostiles from the left by standing on top of a downed makeshift bridge while John and Jane stalked the area with two buildings. All of their weapons firing at the Geth and Husks.
A husk got too close to Jane but John punched it in the face and curb stomped its face in, killing it instantly. Jane also threw a grenade that took out a couple of Geth as multiple pieces of metal and machinery flew around. Lowering their weapons. They all took a moment to relax, nodding to each other. They began to search for anymore colonists inside the building, kicking down a door. The group came to a bunch of farmers. "Wait!" The one in front of the group yelled in a panic. John stepped forward, "Who are you?"
The man in front sighed. "A bunch of nobodies, we're just farmers that tried to escape. You killed them right?" Jane glanced at the farmers suspiciously while Kaiden didn't seem convinced, Jane spoke up. "What do you know about that ship earlier?" The farmers looked taken back before the leader. "I can't explain it, it's like a screech or something. It pierces your mind, breaking your will almost. Hard to think, you name it, I couldn't stand it. All I know was that it attacked the city and landed in the spaceport." John gave Ashley and Kaiden an order as they walked outside. Jane and John went to follow them.
"Maybe we should tell them?" A female voice spoke up causing the brother and sister to stop. "Quiet!" A whisper hush but it was too late. "Tell us what?" Jane's calm voice sent chills down their spines. "What are you all hiding?" Her eyes studied each one, the lead farmer gulped before stepping forward. "A smuggler uses out stores to store anything he has, he leaves us alone and we do nothing to him. We don't know what's in the stuff but he's great guy, forced to take a career like that, hell, I even got this pistol from a crate of his. Take it, I don't need it." John grabbed and stopped Jane as she got angry, "You know smuggling is illegal and a crime!" Her voice rising each word. "Hey, I know that. But listen, the guy's name is Powell. He should be at the spaceport or he's already off world." Jane glared at them before storming off. "What's wrong with her?" He asked her brother. "She just has a knack for upholding the law." John glanced at them before following her.
The walk to the spaceport was pleasant, "Eden Prime, a crown jewel." Kaiden said to Ashley, "The city was magnificent, I could stare at it all day and not give a damn." The strike team stopped to rest and check their supplies, Ashley and Kaiden stopped by a cliff edge to watch the burning city. "Think we can stop them?" Ash wondered. "As a team, we can." John said as he walked up, "We're moving out now." The two nodded and got their weapons ready, "Let's go Commander," the group eventually arrived at the spaceport, the team taking cover at various objects as they moved forward, Kaiden took lead as his eyes searched around until. "Commander! It's Nihlus." The group suddenly whirled towards Kaiden. Lying there, in a puddle of his own blood was the Turian spectre. John walked up and gently closed his open eyes as he sighed. Jane looked down sadly, she walked towards a bunch of crates, her eyes caught something shifting as a box was knocked over.
She pulled out her pistol and gripped it as she aimed, climbing up off the floor was another survivor, "Hey there, don't shoot." He raised his hands, the team walked to just behind Jane as she slowly lowered her pistol. "My name's Powell and I saw what happened to your friend, some other Turian was here, and I dunno what he was doing, leading the Geth? Anyway, your friend comes in and lowers his guard when he sees the other guy. Friend's maybe? Anyway, after your friend walks away abit. The other one shoots him, right in the back of the head. Cut through his shields." The team, surprised quickly went to guard the area but Jane remained. "You're Powell, a smuggler." The smuggler could only mutter a curse as Jane pressed on.
"How did you really survive?" He stepped back. "I took a nap okay. Behind those crates." Ashley twisted on her feet, "You mean that you survived while good men and women were dying while you had a nap!" John moved his arm in front of her. "Williams!" Jane raised her pistol, "If you're a smuggler and had powerful weaponry, why did you not give them out to the soldiers dying out here against the Geth!" He could look away, "I have some experimental grenades, I'm sorry, I didn't mean this. Here. I need time to think about this."
Jane slowly took the high explosive grenades, she sighed and started to walk away. John looked at Ashley and patted her to try and comfort her, "Do you know how to get to the warehouses in the spaceport?"
Ashley accepted his attempts and pointed down a path, "Down there, a tram station should take us there." John nodded and led the team towards the tramline, a Geth appeared out of nowhere and tried to grab Kaiden but he ducked and kicked the Geth down, his weapon wiping it offline, more Geth attacked but the group effectively brought them down. Stepping down onto a walkway platform, they came face to face with a different type of Geth. It was larger than the others and held a shotgun weapon, its bulk like appearance didn't prevent it from rushing towards them. John shouted. "Focus on the big guy!" Everyone's weapon blared into a blaze and began to hack away at the giant Geth, its white paint was scratched but its armor wasn't damaged. Dents formed as its shields cut out. When it got close it swung its left arm and smacked Kaiden into the railing. Before it could shoot him, Ashley ran and jumped onto its back.
The Geth tried to shake Ashley off as she pulled out a knife and stabbed it in the single optic eye. Blinded, the Geth managed to throw Ashley off but went crazy, its shotgun firing in all directions as the team took cover, when it overheated. John and Jane quickly stood and fired everything they had it. With sparks and sputters, it fell to the floor. Jane went to grab Kaiden and heal most of his wounds, John couched down next to Ashley as she breathed heavily. "You did good Ash." She looked at him and smiled, "Thanks Commander. I do my best." The team got prepared again and ran down the platform towards the tram.
Elsewhere. A platform that was held by supports, each support connected to the wall that separated the landing platform to the rest of the tram system. On top of the platform, covered with the spires that transformed flesh into metal sat scattered around another spire like tower. This one glowing with a bright power, standing beside it stood a menacing twisted creature of both flesh and metal. Pipes that fueled blood and a black fluid went all the way towards the back of the head and the chest, mostly the heart. The creature in question resembled a Turian, it's once organic eyes, now a cybernetic blue. It snarled as Geth surrounded him.
One of the Geth, covered white moved towards him. A choirs of beeps sounded, the Turian growled slightly. Turning its head at the Geth, its metal mandibles moved. "Make sure nothing on this rock stands, destroy the port." The ordered Geth replied with a set of beeps and walked away, the surrounding Geth followed while two huge red colored ones stayed behind. The Turian stepped towards the towering spire, a grin growing on his metal face. Before he suddenly shot up in the air with the towers energy spreading around the area, covering him in an orange faint light.
Meanwhile, the strike-team stood along the tram, each member checked their weapons. Readying them for combat, the Shepherds, Kaiden and Ashley looked up as the tram came to a slow. When it eventually stopped. Kaiden was the first to see a cylinder like object with a control panel attached to the side, a red light beeped above a dim green light. His eyes widened as he shouted. "Commander! It's a bomb." Jane quickly took action and drove towards the bomb, her hand skillfully pressed the number pad, allowing her to diffuse the bomb. The red light flashed off as the green lit up. She looked at her brother and spoke, "There's a chance there's more of them. The Geth must be trying to destroy this entire port."
Her logic got the others to ready their weapons and turn towards the ramp behind them, running up to the platform. The group encountered more Geth and a few more bombs which Jane disarmed, as the strike-team slowly marched their towards the Geth position at the end of the ramped platform connecting the walkway to the Beacons location, Ashley aimed her rifle at a Geth, her helmet began to static up. A white Geth stepped from behind the crate and raised a long barreled weapon with a high powered scope, a red beam of light shot towards them. Ashley ducked and when she got back up. Her weapon flashed as the lasers flashed out and hit the Geth, other confirming the kill by shooting the machine a couple times, the static in her helmet faded as it returned to normal.
After taking care of a heavy, crazy shot gunning Geth Destroyer charging at them. Jane wasted no time in disarming the bomb, when the light went green, John shouldered his weapon. "How much time was left?" Jane got up and flashed him a smirk, "You don't want to know." The group carefully walked down the ramp which led to the beacon, stepping onto the platform. The spires which held the Husks lowered themselves as three more Geth ran towards them, Ashley turned to the right and emptied her weapon into a Geth as Jane shot and killed a Geth with her pistol and stabbed a knife into a Husk before kicking it away causing it to stumble and fall off the platform. John rolled out of a Husk's attempt at grabbing him, John rushed at the Husk, pushing it to the ground. Raising his armored boot up, he crushed it straight down onto the metal head. Breaking and shattering it completely, a Geth snuck up behind him. But screamed in agony as Kaiden shot it. John turned punched the Geth in the face, shattering the light bulb.
The remaining Geth was suddenly shot as Ashley lowered her smoking rifle, "You missed one." She said with confidence. Jane chuckled and walked away from the group, motioning John to follow as she raised her hand to talk to the Normandy, leaving Ashley and Kaiden to admire in awe at the Prothean beacon as it glowed. "It wasn't doing anything like this when the scientists dug it up." Ashley wondered to Kaiden as she stepped towards it, Kaiden analyzed the beacon in awe. "It must've been activated prior to our arrival, who knows what it may hold." As Ashley got closer, the more she felt like it was pulling her, when she tried to back away. Her body shifted on its own as her legs failed to move her away, her feet dragged along the metal floor with a screech. John turned around with Jane and before anyone could do anything, he ran forward. Pushing Kaiden out of the way as he lunged at Ashley.
He felt himself get caught in the beacons pull but he managed to successfully push Ashley out of it. The beacon grabbed ahold of him while Jane grabbed her brother's arm and tried to pull him away, only for her to follow him into the gravity field. They both shot up into the air, held by the beacon as they're minds where ripped apart from the intensive images that rushed throughout their minds, images of flesh and marine, death and destruction along with images of flesh molded together with machinery. While this was happening the beacon began to glow even brighter with its orange glow, the light got intense enough that Ashley and Kaiden had to cover their eyes, until, it was silent at first as the orange light seemingly stopped. But that changed when the light sucked itself back inside the beacon as it's suddenly exploded into a million pieces. Jane and John where thrown past the other two members of the strike-team where they lay, coming in and out of an unconscious state. When they suddenly saw black.
(And now we switch to Amara and her garrison of troops)
"Commander, I want all the survivors on the first transport back to the ship. We'll be on the second transport back to the ship." Amara said as she gave an order to Trooper in front of her. The trooper gave a salute and said, "At once your Majesty." And headed off to repeat the orders to the other soldiers.
Amara turned towards the survivors they came across in the four hours they've been on Eden Prime during the attack. Only fifty civilians survived the Attack, thirty of which were Children and the rest were adults, mostly scientists and injured security staff.
Amara approached one of the surviving scientists, and asked. "Excuse me..." she looks to her nametag, "Dr. Warren, can you tell me what exactly happened before this happened?" Dr. Warren looks to Amara and begins telling her everything.
From the discovery of the Prothean Beacon to the Attack. Then one part of Dr. Warrens story catches Amara's attention. "Wait, did you say 'Shepard'?" Amara asked the young Doctor.
"Yes, there were two Shepard's in fact. One male and the other female, they were Commandos by the look of their armor." Amara raised her hand and said, "Say no more Ma'am. They were here for their own mission, I'm sure their fine. Now if you'll pardon me I must make contact with a few people." Amara said before walking way.
(In the Imperial Palace on New Mars with the King and Queen)
"Your Majesties, I'm afraid we're calling because your Daughter has not made it to the summit, and the council is wondering if she even left your home world yet." Said a slightly stressed Tevos to King Nik'Banon and Queen Tyr'ahnee. They both looked at each with confused looks before turning back towards Tevos.
"That doesn't sound like Amara at all to not show up, be a minute or two late yes, but not show up entirely is another story." Tyr'ahnee said as her eyes looked distant in thought. Nik'Banon nodded in agreement and said, "Agreed, she only left a couple of hours ago, she should've arrived ten minutes after jumping out of the system."
Before any of them could say more, an Imperial Officer came Barging in and called out to them.
"Your Majesties! You're Majesties, something terrible has just occurred!" the Imperial officer exclaimed in almost absolute shock.
"What is it soldier? Is it something to do with my Daughter?!" Queen Tyr'ahnee asked worriedly, the Officer shook his head 'no' and lifted a Communicator out of his pocket.
"No Your Majesties, infact the Princess is calling to tell you what has happened right now." He said as he pushed a button and appeared the Hologram of Princess Amara in Combat gear, confused by her attire they asked. "Amara what has happened and why are you in combat armor?" the King and Queen asked in unison.
"Mother, Father, I'm sure by this point and time someone from the Council is calling to ask where I am. Rest assured that I'm fine. But as for the reason I'm in combat gear, well…" she paused, "There has been a terrible tragedy, for Eden Prime has been attacked by what we've found to be Geth."
Both the King and Queen looked at each other in shock before turning back to her. "Only a handful of survivors made it out alive including an injured infant. I'm sorry Mother and Father, but I'm afraid I simply can't attend the summit but I am still in bound to the citadel and will be bringing up plans of defense and offence against the Geth."
"Take as long as you need Amara, we will begin rallying the troops and prepare our other Colonies against future attacks." Nik'Banon said with a soft tone, "Yes, and we will await your return my daughter." Tyr'ahnee said with the same soft tone as Nik.
Amara said nothing but bow her head as the Communication shut off. The Royalties turned towards the Officer and dismissed him before turning back to Tevos. Tevos only gave a small smile before saying.
"I already heard everything and will let the rest of the Council know what has transpired." Tevos said before ending the Communication.
Both Nik'Banon and Tyr'ahnee looked at each other and said. "I'll rally our forces." Nik'Banon said, "And I'll make preparations for Amara's return." And they both walked out of the room and headed their separate ways.
