Chapter 13:
Twenty minutes later supper is ready, thanks to Hermione's help and the three friends are waiting in the basement kitchen for the lord of the house to arrive home from work.
Draco still has a week left on his vacation from the Auror office, so Harry has been pulling the weight for them both. After placing warming charms on the roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and asparagus dinner, the trio walks upstairs to the parlor, to wait for Harry. He tumbles out of the floo and grumbles to himself before noticing the grinning faces of his wife, sister and brother. "Hi, sorry that I am late, but I was delayed by Kingsley. It seems that there was an issue with Molly Prewett and the twins this afternoon. They are not pressing charges, but Bill thinks they should. So does old Tom at the Leaky." He tells them after hugging the women and shaking Draco's hand.
The two happy couples traipse down stairs for supper. The food is consumed in twenty minutes of silence. Harry thanks Katie and Hermione before getting up to clean the table. When everything is put away and washed, he makes some more tea and waits for whatever they wanted to tell them. Harry drapes his arm around Katie's chair and raises an eyebrow at his sister. He knows that she'll crack before Draco under his gaze.
"Fine! Draco and I wanted the two of you to be the first of our friends/ family to know that we are expecting. We've already told the elder Malfoys." Hermione gasps out.
"I'm going to be an auntie?" Katie screams as she jumps to her feet and rushes over to Hermione. She has tears in her eyes when the two ladies let go of each other. Harry stands and pulls Draco in for a hug.
"Congrats man." He pats the blonde on his back.
Draco and Hermione had talked about god parents for their children and also the idea of having said god parents share in their day on the solstice. Both agreed to both points.
"'Mione and I have some things to ask you though also." The Potter couple look on expectantly.
Hermione takes over for the first request. "Harry, Katie, would you be willing to be the godparents for our son and daughter?"
"Twins?" Katie shrieks, to which Draco nods proudly.
"I think that I can answer for my wife as well, when I say that we would be delighted. What's the other?" Harry beams at them, truly happy for the two of them.
"It's a two part question. First, will you stand up with us at the wedding? Not as attendants, but as co- celebrants? I am going to ask Blaise and Neville to stand up on our side and Hermione's asking Luna and Pansy to do so on the brides' side. Neither of us could think of a better idea than to do a double wedding."
Harry looks at his bride. The tears coursing down her face is answer enough for him. "We'll do it. What better place to marry than where we all met?" Harry waits for the second part, has a guess to what it would be.
"The only Weasleys invited will be the ones who helped us find Hermione. I don't want Molly, Ginny or Ron around Hermione. First, because my veela sees them as a threat to our mate. Secondly, because she doesn't need any more stress than what she already has piled on her shoulders. I am pretty sure that we would all agree that the three of them create havoc and drama wherever they go." Both of the Potters nod to the sentiment.
"First and foremost Draco, I wouldn't want them there either. Arthur, the twins and the older two are a given, but those three never. Next, my sister and future godchildren come first." Harry declares vehemently.
"'Mione, let me know if there is anything that I can do to help you. As you have invited all of the same people that we would have, we have no new names for invitations. I feel like we are gipping you two, when I need to do is get a gown." Katie clasps her hands around Hermione's.
"Seeing as it will now be our wedding also, I insist on paying for some if not half of it. I'll cut you two a draft. If not that, then at least let me pay for your honeymoon." Harry raises his eyebrows at his stubborn sister and brother in law. The pair look at each other and then nod to Harry's demand.
'That was easier than I thought it would be.' Harry thinks to himself.
The "Malfoy's" leave soon afterward. Harry gives his lady a smirk worthy of his blonde counterpart. "I just got those two to agree to have me pay for something." He chuckles darkly and rubs his hands together.
Katie shakes her head and gets ready for bed. "I swear since they were partnered, those two have traded personalities." She mutters to herself as she walks up the stairs to their master suite.
Harry looks into the fire as he drinks the last of his tea. "Well little man, your mum and I are getting married. Not to each other, but to two people who love you just as much as we do. I wish I could have loved your mum as more than just a friend or a sister for your sake, but she is better off with Draco. He is a good man and loves her very much. Katie is the one for me. She is always going on about you and we are trying to provide you with siblings on our side too. I truly hope you will watch over your brothers and sisters. I am proud of you for holding on as long as you did. It just proves that you are a Potter. Goodnight Jasen. Daddy loves you." Harry whispers into the fire, before going upstairs for the night.
"Goodnight Mum, goodnight Daddy, goodnight Mamma Katie, goodnight Pappa Draco. I love you all." A quiet unassuming young man whispers back; looking down on his parents and step-parents. He has yet to accomplish what his father has asked of him, but maybe tonight is the night as he notices six new people join him in gazing down at the two couples.
Jasen wraps his arms around himself and bends his head as a few stray tears fall from his eyes. "Hello, do we know you, young man? You look quite familiar." A kind voice asks. Jasen turns to see his father, minus their famous bright eyes looking at him.
"Excuse me sir. Would you by any chance be willing to help me? My father told me to seek out his parents and uncles. That they would look out for me until it was time for him and my mother's along with their spouses turns to come up here." Jasen looks down, trying not to get his hopes up.
"Of course we will. Who are you looking for?" James Potter looks down at the boy. He is small, most likely was a stillborn. The boy has jet black curly hair, and a build like he did when he was an early teen. When the boy looks up again, James' mouth drops. "Sir, my name is Jasen James Potter. My father told me to look for his parents, James and Lily and his uncles, Sirius, Remus and Severus."
James envelopes the boy in his arms. "My boy, don't worry about a thing from now on. Lils, Siri, Rem, Dora, Sev, over here quick!" He yells to the others. They come running. Lily immediately sees the young boys in her husband's arms. "Who is this?" She asks. The boy strongly resembles Harry, but they just saw Harry get into bed.
"This is Jasen James Potter, Harry's son." James chokes out around a rather large lump in his throat. Lily and Dora tear up. Lily rushes closer and tears the surprised boy out of his grandfather's embrace. "Who is your mother?" She asks him as she looks over his face. She is wildly hoping that it is not Ginerva Weasley. Lily is still debating on haunting the girl and that cow that she calls a mother.
"Hermione." Jasen, Remus, Sirius, and Dora say at the same time. The latter three look to their friends. "It's obvious. Look at those curls. There is only one girl in Harry's acquaintance that has hair like that." Sirius says as if it should be clear to everyone.
Jasen looks at his newly found family. "Due to the stress of the war and not knowing if they would live or not, they indulged just once. Mum became pregnant with me. She got tortured by Pappa Draco's evil aunt and some guy named Fenir Greyback. I got hurt and ended up here about a year and a half ago. Mum didn't know about me until it was too late. Mum is happy with Pappa Draco and Daddy is happy with Mamma Katie. Daddy had me moved, so I am next to you and Grandpa in Godric's Hollow." Jasen looks to his uncles and Aunt Dora. "Both of them miss you very much. Daddy is doing better, but he still has trouble living in that house. Mum has told me stories about what you were like. How Hogwarts would never be the same without it's sardonic and sarcastic Potions master. She misses you a lot sir. She always said that yours, Uncle Remus' and Headmistress McGonagall's classes were the best because the challenged her."
Severus's eyes tear up. "I miss them both too. To think that my godson's mate would be Miss Granger. They feuded all the way through."
"So my boy, what are you reading here?" Remus asks. "Hogwarts: A History."
Sirius barks with laughter. "You may look like the pup, but you take after you mother. Just like your father does. Don't get me wrong, Harry is a true legacy for the Marauders, but he is very much like Lils here, deep down." He hugs the boy.
"Come along Jasen, let's go home." Lily leads him to their cottage. It's an exact copy of the one in Godric's Hollow, aside from being in one piece. "Thank you, Harry. I love my little boy." Lily whispers as she watches her grandson enter their house.
A/N: If you haven't noticed, I attempt to always have James and Lily in there somewhere. Who better to look after little Jasen than his family? Only one more chapter to go. Thank you all for your great responses and help to make this and all of my stories better. - Krys.
