A/N: Wow, I've been updating alot lately! Don't you just love it? Yeah, don't get used to it. Anyways, I loved you feedback on the last chapter. I know I broke some hearts here and there. I'm sorry to say that this chapter is going to crush all that is left of your heart. Yeah...sorry.
Alot of you got the answers correct last chapter! Had to write a fuckton of teasers, which was pretty cool. Sorry that I didn't get down to sending every teaser by the time I updated this chapter! Thanks to all those to take time to review my work. Much appreciated.
This chapter isn't going to be as long as others. This is like a clarification chapter. It does a little flashback in the beginning from Gwen's POV and then to the future.
Enjoy the chapter!
Muwah!

Chapter 14
Gwen's POV-
::Last Night::
I came out of the bathroom, dressed and ready for bed. When I was walking through our house hallway, I walked past Leshawna's room and suddenly stopped.
Should I go in there? Maybe I should talk things out. Hopefully she's over it by now.
Before I could second guess myself, I knocked on Leshawna's door.
KNOCK KNOCK
"Mom! I told you I don't want milk! It's expired! Just 'cause you put it in the fridge doesn't mean it ain't spoilt!" she screamed.
"Um," I cleared my throat before speaking up. "Leshawna, it's me, Gwen."
There was a slight pause on the other side of the door.
"Oh..." she muttered quietly, but I heard it nevertheless. "What do you want?" she snapped.
Well, I'm guessing she's not over it.
"I just want to talk," I said.
"Why don't you go and talk to your boyfriend?" she asked, venom lacing her tone.
I scoffed.
"Look, I want to sort this out. And it's not helping that you're acting like a toddler. Now, would you open this door or what?" I finally blurted out.
There was another pause, but this one was longer. After a minute or so, I decided that she was going to continue acting like a baby, so I gave up and walked away.
"Fine!" I shouted. "Be immature!"
Just as I reached my room, the door to Leshawna's room swung open. I turned to see that she had rushed out of her room, but managed to keep her composure.
"Alright," she sighed. "Let's talk."
I smiled slightly as we walked into Leshawna's room. First thing I noticed was the mess.
There were scattered books and papers everywhere. There were bits and pieces of food on the carpet. The bed looked like it hadn't been made in weeks. Clothes were all over the floor. It was an utter disaster. But it was so Leshawna.
"Um..." I mumbled, not wanting to say anything rude.
"Sit." She ordered.
I looked around the room nervously.
"Where?" I asked unsurely.
She pressed her lips together, obviously trying not to smile but failing anyways. She shoved all her stuff from the bed and onto the floor, making room for us both. We sat on the bed and I smiled at her, visibly more relaxed now.
"So, what do you wanna talk about?" she asked with a frown. The nervousness crept back to me again.
I had rehearsed this speech for the past couple of days. I've been dying to work things out with her, to explain to her why I didn't tell her. I thought I knew what I was doing.
But I don't.
"Erm, I...I just...I don't..." I stuttered with anxiety.
Leshawna's frown deepened at my reaction. I guess she expected me to be rude and harsh; hell, so did I. But when it came to the real deal, I had nothing.
"Duncan..." she trailed off expectantly, giving me a starting point.
"Right, Duncan..." I nodded. "I just...I lo—"
"Girl, don't you dare say you love him. We both know you don't," she rolled her eyes looking like she was tired.
Now it was my turn to frown, and I finally found my voice.
"No, you don't know," I insisted. "You don't know us. You don't know anything about us. You don't know him."
"Neither do you!" she interjected, throwing her hands in the air in frustration. "You only just met him 2 weeks ago! And now you think you're in LOVE with him? Are you crazy?"
I huffed.
"It doesn't matter, okay? All I know is that I love him, and he loves me back."
"Girl, I've known that boy for ages. I know what kind of tricks he has up his sleeve. He's just playing you!"
God, we just had this same conversation a week ago.
"Leshawna, I didn't come here to fight with you or to defend Duncan," I sighed. "I've just...missed you."
Her face softened.
"I've missed you too, girl."
"We shouldn't let this whole Duncan thing get in between us. I've wanted to talk to you for the past week but...I just couldn't build up the courage. And you wouldn't talk to me so..."
"Yeah," she nodded. "I guess I have been acting a little...adolescent," she exhaled heavily. "I'm sorry."
I nodded.
"Yeah, me too," I concluded.
Silence took over us again. I guess we both didn't really know what to say after that. After a minute or two, Leshawna finally broke the quietness and spoke again.
"So you really love him, huh?" she asked solemnly.
I nodded.
"I really do."
"And you really think he loves you back?" she asked disbelievingly.
"I know he loves me back," I emphasized.
She sighed before smiling at me weakly.
"Well then, I guess I'm okay with that."
I grinned.
"Really?" I asked with hopeful eyes.
She laughed and nodded.
"Only for you though, girl."
I squealed a little and hugged her tight.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I repeated.
"Alright, alright," she chuckled.
"Truce?" I asked.
She thought over it for a minute or two.
"How bad do you want it?" she asked, smirking.
My eyes grew large.
"Um...really bad..." I droned. "Why?"
Her smirk grew bigger.
"Come on," she said loudly, getting up and pulling me up with her, ignoring my question.
"Why?" I asked again.
"We're going out," she stated simply.
"At this time?" I asked, looking down at myself in my pyjamas. "Where?" I asked again suspiciously.
"The mall," she grinned.
"The mall?" I asked incredulously. "We're going shopping? Why?"
"We need to get you and outfit for tomorrow," she said, picking out a scarf from the heap of mess.
"What's tomorrow?"
"Hmm," she smirked. "I'll explain the 3 steps on the way there. We only have to make one stop."
"Where?" I asked, tilting my head in confusion.
"Ann Summers."
::The Next Day::
"Gwen! Look at you, girl!" Leshawna gushed. "You look..."
"Like a whore," I stated seriously.
I grimaced as I looked at myself in the mirror. The plaid skirt was WAY too short. The white shirt exposed my stomach and my cleavage. The matching tie was unnecessary. My pigtails made me look like I was 5 years old. The garters and thigh highs were way to over the top. I felt like I was going to trip and die in my high heels. All this, and I haven't even done my makeup yet.
"You don't look like a whore! You look sexy!" Leshawna interjected.
I glared at her with a bored look.
"I look like a baby prostitute."
Just as I said those words, my phone received a call. I looked down to see it was Duncan. So, of course, I picked it up after 3 rings.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey babe. You ready?" he asked as I heard the motorcycle revving.
Ah shit. He was meant to be picking me up right.
I looked to Leshawna questioningly, asking if I can go with my eyes. But she shook her head and refused straight away. I sighed before answering Duncan.
"I uhm...not really," I stammered. "Listen, you go to school without me, kay? I think I'm gonna be a bit late."
"You okay?" he asked with obvious worry in his voice.
"Yeah I'm fine!" I exclaimed, trying to be convincing that nothing was going on. "I'm just not ready yet. I'll meet you in school, okay?" I asked uncertainly.
"Alright, meet you there," he sighed.
Was he upset about not seeing me? Aw.
"Love you," I reassured.
"Love you too."
And I hung up.
"Why am I lying to him?" I asked Leshawna with a frown.
"Gotta stick to the plan, girl," Leshawna smiled sympathetically.
I sighed.
"Let's just get it over with."
::Two Hours Later::
"Do I really have to do this?" I asked Leshawna nervously as she pushed me into the cafeteria.
"Yes," she whispered harshly and gave me one last shove through the door.
Immediately all eyes were on me. The boys were staring at me like I was something to eat. The girls were staring—sorry, I mean glaring—at me like I slept with their boyfriends for money. And I didn't like it at all.
"Leshawna, people are staring at me..." I muttered over my shoulder. When I didn't get a response, I turned around to see that she was gone. "Leshawna!" I whispered harshly.
Fuck.
What was I supposed to do now?
I looked around and saw that Leshawna was in the line getting her food. My eyes travelled and saw Duncan and DJ on the same table, talking. That just made me even more nervous. I didn't know the first thing about being cute or making someone jealous.
Everyone's eyes were still on me and I felt so uncomfortable. I fidgeted around with my tie and swayed a bit.
"Hey!" a voice called from beside me, making me jump and startle slightly. I looked to see Trent, looking gorgeous as ever, smiling apologetically. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
I smiled back.
"It's okay. I get shocked easily," I said, laughing it off.
His eyes roamed over me. Not in a creepy way, more like an appreciative way. A soft blush covered his cheeks.
"You look...nice," he said, his voice cracking on the last word, making me giggle a little. His face heated with embarrassment.
"You're too cute, Trent," I complimented honestly, smiling all the while.
"You're pretty cute too," he said, laughing. He then leaned in close to my ear and whispered. "And you really do look...nice."
Involuntarily, I blushed with mortification.
"I really don't," I replied, giggling.
I felt eyes on me and I somehow knew that Duncan was watching. So, I tried to put my best face on to make Duncan feel jealous, just like Leshawna had asked me to.
I looked up at Trent through my thick lashes and smiled, biting my lower lip provocatively and curling my pigtail on my finger, like those girls in the cheesy pornos. I even batted my eyelashes, which I almost never do.
Trent's eyes visibly darkened but he blinked the desire away like a gentleman.
"Trust me, you do," he suggested.
"Well, thank you," I replied.
"You'd expect better adjectives from someone taking AP Lit, huh?" he asked sheepishly.
I had to laugh at that.
"Nice is a good enough adjective."
"Hmm, maybe I should've gone with something more like 'pleasant' or 'good'."
I laughed even harder.
I looked across the cafe and saw the majority of the people were once again staring at us. But one specific pair of teal eyes caught mine. Just as I'd guessed, he didn't look happy. He looked like he wanted to murder Trent and then do the dirty with me.
I gave him an innocently confused look before tearing my eyes away from him and back to Trent.
"You shouldn't do that," he said, putting his hand forward and releasing my lower lip from my teeth so I wasn't biting down on it. I hadn't even realised I was biting my lip. His thumb grazed my lip and—again, involuntarily—my lips parted.
Suddenly, I heard a crashing sound coming from, no doubt, Duncan's table. My eyes widened and I got scared that Duncan might do something to Trent.
But thank god, the bell rang.
"What lesson do you have next?" I asked him.
"Um, physics, wh—"
"Great!" I cut him off before grabbing his hand. "Let's go."
::2 Hours Later::
It's been absolute torture having to stay away from Duncan all day.
Absolute torture.
Thank god we didn't have any classes together. But to stay away from him at lunch, I'd have to be a little bit sneakier. So I figured I'd go to a place he wouldn't think of ever stepping in.
The library.
The geeky looking ginger behind the counter practically eye fucked me, making me uncomfortable for what seemed like the 100th time today. But I ignored it and made my way to the classic books section.
I checked books after books; Hemmingway, Mark Twain, Shakespeare, before finally settling on Jane Austen. She's one of my favourite classic authors. I'm surprised they even had Pride and Prejudice.
"Angry people are not always wise."
Hah you got that right, Jane.
I was so focused in reading the quotes from Pride and Prejudice that I barely noticed someone walking on the same isle. Well, I didn't notice until I heard books fall.
I flinched and turned around, only to have my eyes meet the same teal ones of Duncan.
"Duncan," I gasped.
"Gwen."
From then, things kind of escalated.
We went from calmly talking to basically attacking each other, in the best way possible of course. I guess Leshawna's plan didn't really work. Our hands were all over each other while we made out against the classic books section of the school library.
Are there any security cameras in here?
Fuck it.
My hands tugged on his hair harder as his lips went down to my neck. He licked and sucked and bit me, making me release the involuntary moans again.
His thighs roamed over my thighs and flicked at the garter belt. He asked me about it and where I got the outfit. I explained that it was all Leshawna.
His lips went back to their work and I gasped out "Shit!" against my will.
"Tell me about the book you were reading."
"Now?" I asked quizzically.
What an odd request, but I complied anyway. I told him about Elizabeth and Darcy and blabbed mindlessly about the book. I couldn't even concentrate because of the delicious things his hands and mouth were doing to me right now.
"Fuck yes," he groaned, grinding against me for friction.
I heard some people talking on the other side and panicked. We're in a public place in school! We could get in serious trouble for this shit. And if Leshawna knew what I was up to... fuck.
"Duncan, stop," I pleaded, trying to pushing him off unwillingly.
He sucked harder in that sensitive spot behind my ear.
"Why? Don't you want me?" he mumbled against my neck.
I denied that immediately and protested something about someone catching us in the act. He pulled away and looked me in the eyes.
"Don't you trust me?" he asked softly.
And I knew in that moment that yes, I did trust him. More than anyone else. So I kinda caved in and let him have his way with me.
So he grabbed my thighs and lifted me up. I wrapped it around his waist naturally. We both moaned at the friction. I licked the lobe of his ear and grazed it with my teeth, which is exactly what Duncan likes. I was right since his hips bucked into mine really hard, hitting the exact spot. I cried out but that's not the noise that took my attention.
"HOLY SHIT!"
I froze and felt Duncan's body tense up too. We both turned to see Geoff staring at us with wide eyes.
Just as I'd predicted, we'd been caught.
"Shit!" I whispered before getting off of Duncan, fixing my skirt, and running away out of mortification.
Crap, crap, crap!
I was speed walking to the door when the guy in the counter called me back.
"Excuse me!" the nerdy guy called.
I stopped in my tracks and turned around.
"Yes?" I asked.
"You cannot leave the library without borrowing or buying a book," he explained.
I groaned.
"Fuck."
"Do you have a library card?" he asked, staring blatantly at my tits.
I clicked my fingers in front of his face.
"Eyes up here," I snapped. "And yeah, I have a card."
"Okay, you can give it to me and give me the book you want to borrow," he muttered and averted his eyes.
Good boy.
"I...left my book back there. I'll just go and grab it," I said, walking back to the shelves to grab the Pride and Prejudice book back again.
When I walked back to the aisle again, I heard Duncan's voice.
"I'm not...alright," he said. I didn't get all the words, so I couldn't make anything of it.
Then Geoff replied.
"Whatever...say..." that's all I heard.
I got closer and I heard them clearer now.
"Look, it was you who started the bet, am I right?" Duncan asked. What bet? I wondered. He continued anyway. "So yeah, I filled my part of the deal by sleeping with her in 7 days." Sleeping with who? Was he cheating on me? "Now it's your turn to pay up. How much did you say?"
I could feel the grin in his voice but I still had no clue what he was on about. I looked through the books to get a better look at them.
Geoff groaned.
"Alright, alright, here ya go," Geoff said, handing him some cash and change out of his pocket.
"Just $33?" Duncan asked.
Geoff sighed. "Yeah, DJ and Tyler made the bet too, remember? They gotta pay up as well," he frowned and said.
So DJ and Tyler were in on this 'bet' too? And it's about sleeping with a girl...maybe this was a long time ago or something? Who was this about anyway?
Duncan smirked and laughed.
"Why so glum Geoffrey?"
"Jeez, man," Geoff said, scratching his head. "I didn't think you could actually do it. How did you do it anyways?"
"Well it sure as fuck wasn't easy," Duncan groaned and rolled his eyes before laughing evilly. "She was a tough act. But I got to her eventually. No one can evade the Carter charm for too long." Then he winked.
It was then that I knew that they were talking about me. And it all sunk in.
Duncan trying to get to me.
Duncan seducing me.
Duncan not moving on.
Duncan trying to get in my pants.
Duncan telling me he loved me...
Duncan finally having sex with me.
Duncan telling me he loved me because to have sex with me.
Oh my god, Leshawna was right. Leshawna was right all along. I was a fool for actually thinking that Duncan might have cared for me.
I was a fool.
"Dude, you're a dog!" Geoff laughed and high fived Duncan. They both laughed and howled hysterically.
Tears ran down my cheek. How could I not see it? I've been such a fool. Involuntarily, I sniffed. I covered my mouth to hide my sobs, but it did no good.
Duncan's eyes snapped to mine, did a double-take, and then widened. Geoff stopped laughing as well and looked at me, with similar expression to Duncan's.
"Gwen..." Duncan whispered.
That's all it took. I broke down crying. I didn't want him to see me like this, however; so vulnerable. So I did the first thing that came into my mind.
I ran.
I heard his calling behind me, but I didn't listen. I didn't listen to the geeky front desk guy when he called me either. I just had to get out of there. ASAP.
I ran through the hallway—knocking into people, but not caring to apologise—until I got to the courtyard area outside. Thank god it was totally deserted.
I heard footsteps behind me, which probably belonged to Duncan, so I ran faster. I ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore. All the energy was pouring out of my eyes in tears.
"Gwen! Wait!" I heard Duncan shout behind me, but I kept running. "Gwen! I'm serious! Stop!"
I cried, my body shaking with the force of my sobs. But I no intention of listening to a thing Duncan had to say. He'd played me enough.
"Gwen!" he screamed.
Eventually, however, he had caught up. He grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him.
"What?" I screamed through my tears.
"God dammit Gwen, would you just hear me out?"
"Why should I? So you can lie to me again?" I asked bitterly.
He sighed exasperatedly and rubbed his face.
"Look, what I said back there...that wasn't true. Okay? I don't know what came over me. I just...Geoff just started calling me soft and shit...and I...I wanted to prove him wrong...I don't...I..." he stuttered and stumbled over his own words.
I closed my eyes in pain. I couldn't listen to this.
I turned around and began to walk.
"Gwen! Stop! Don't walk away!" he begged.
Without turning around, I spoke in a low voice.
"You don't get to tell me what to do anymore."
"Gwen, please!" he practically begged. "Please..." he repeated softly.
I growled, spinning back around to face him.
"Leshawna was right. I was a fool to think that you could genuinely LIKE me," I laughed humourlessly. "I was a fool."
"No you weren't!" he insisted.
"Yes, Duncan, I was!" I yelled back. "I've been so blind. I've told you things I couldn't even admit to myself. I've opened up to you like I haven't to anyone else. I loved you, dammit!" my body broke down into sobs.
"Gwen..." he whispered, coming closer to me.
"Don't!" I screamed and he halted his steps. "Don't come near me. I should've listened to Leshawna. She was right. You played me. You took advantage of me when I was most vulnerable. You...you're...you are JUST. LIKE. JAMES."
He stood like a statue in front of me. I guess he had nothing to say anymore. And I couldn't let him see me like this.
So I began running again, and I didn't look behind me.
I walked back into the school and through the hallway. I saw people giving me weird looks. I probably looked like a mess right now, so I couldn't really blame them. When I walked into the girls toilets, the memories of Duncan came back to me.
"You have really beautiful eyes."
"I want you so much that it hurts."
"I'm into you."
"You're my present...and hopefully my future if I don't fuck up."
"I think I love you."
Lies; all of it lies.
I sat at the corner of the isolated girl's toilet and sobbed, hugging my knees to my chest and placing my head on it.
I felt so helpless and it made me sick. So I called the one person that I knew could help me.
Leshawna.
A/N: Aww shit. Shit's about to get real, guys. Again, sorry for a quick chapter and repetition from last chapter, but you guys needed a peek into Gwen's head, yano? Anyways, short chapter = short questions = short teaser. Answer all of them right for a 4 word teaser. Trust me, it'll be worth it!
1)What did Trent say to make Gwen blush?
2)Why did Gwen go back and hear Duncan and Geoff's convo?
3)Who is James?
Remember that I can't give you the teaser if you are reviewing on a guest account. Long reviews get long replies! Thanks for reading!
