Chapter XIV: Hope restored
Okay just so you all know I have had chapter XIII done for some time I just have not posted it that's why bot XIII and XIV are being posted today!
(Nova's POV)
Rage…. Is dead he trusted me in ending all of this before he died and we were all captured. I felt I had failed him…but now thanks to this stranger Xerag I can fulfill my promise and stop Christain, Mephilies, Xeto and Thallata… Now here we stand against Icezer and the others… I have lost all hope in ever restoring peace…
(3rd person POV)
"Icezer how…could you let darkness consume you?" Xage asks in sorrow
"Why? Because in darkness my power is limitless! I have no fear and nothing to lose! You should try it…" Icezer explains "I was a fool to not let this happen sooner…"
"I have been consumed by darkness brother!" Xage yells "But in darkness all you find is a lust… a lust for power, revenge and blood! That is something you can overcome just look inside yourself!"
"I am not giving this power up! And if you won't join us then… I'll have to kill you!" Icezer growls at Xage who just looks at his brother with an angered look "So be it…" Icezer says and dashes for an attack on Xage. Xage jumps to the left of the attack and counters Icezer with a hard swing kick to his back
"Don't make me harm you anymore then I want to!" Xage says to his brother who was kneeled on the ground in a crawling possision. Quick like lightning Icezer strikes each of the heroes with Ice freezing their bodies immobilizing them all
"You are arrogant!" Icezer laughs then approaches Xage "goodbye Xage the Hedgehog!" he says with a sword of Ice in his hand ready to strike.
"If you are going to do it then do it!" Xage grunts, with that Icezer swings the sword but before he could strike Xage Xerag dashes in front of Xage and blocks the blow sending Icezer back a few feet
"Who dares?!" he growls in anger to see Xerag there with his blade in his hand.
"Who the hell are you?!" Xeto asks from the table
"Me?" Xerag grins "I am Xerag the Hedgehog… your worst nightmare!" he says forcing Icezer back with a blast of fire knocking the hedgehog out cold.
"I'll take care of you!" Thallatta says jumping out of his chair and attempts to strike Xerag but is knocked out of the castle by a gust of wind controlled by Xerag leaving Xeto to try his luck. Xeto dashes for Xerag and lands a punch only for him to disappear and then nail him with a wave of water sending him down one of the Castles drainage pipes.
"If you want something done you have to do it yourself…" Christain growls under hisbreath before summoning his weapon the blade of darkness and disappearing... unnoticed
"Okay whos next?" Xerag asks as Christain appears behind him and swings his blade at Xerag. Xerag however was lucky enough to block the strike and sent both him and Christain flying back and landing on the ground. Xerag's hood was knocked down revealing a grey fured hedgehog with a claw like scar under his right eye. And his actual eyes were covered with a black cloth as if they were a blindfold
"Ah… so we see your face finally Xerag…" Christain taunts as he gets up
"Big deal, Christain!" Xerag mocks him
"Are you disrespecting me?!" Christain yells in question
"Maybe." Xerag says with a small smile
"I'll squash you like a bug!" Christain growls throwing a ball of darkness at Xerag who blocks it and dashes for the enemy engaging him in a sword duel.
Meanwhile the rest of the group was still frozen solid only able to move their head.
"Come on…" Nova says silently and his hand glows a fiery red and the ice encasing his body melts so he can move again. "Got it." He whispers in triumph and goes to unfreeze the rest of the group. While the two were fighting and Mephilies was watching
"Thanks Nova." Sonic says to the crimson hedgehog "Now what? Do we go get Mephilies or just stand here?"
"Stay here until those two are done." Nova says looking at the fight between Xerag and Christain fighting.
Christain gets a block on Xerag opening him up for attack and Christain gets ahard slice on his foe forcing Xerag back onto the ground "Are you ready to quit and make your death less pathetic?" Christain chuckles
"Never!" Xerag says getting up and dashing for Christain again to strike him. Christain ducks the attack and sweeps Xerag off of his feet sending him falling to the ground
"It's no use you're too weak!" Christain laughs
"Then… you've left me with no other choice.." Xerag says
"What?" Christain stutters randomly
"I have to release my true self…" Xerag says taking the cloth over his eyes of revealing an emerald green. A few seconds later a blinding light blinded all of the mobians in the room for several minutes even after the light died. When Nova was able to get a look at Xerag he saw Xerags fur was red and his scar was gone.
"That's quite the transformation…" Nova thought to himself as Christain regains his eyesight
"Well that's quite the trick Xerag…" Christain snickers at his foe
"It was wasn't it" Xerag says in a much different voice causing Christains eyes to shrink in fear and Xage and Nova's to widen in amazement as Xerag throws off the coat he was wearing under it was the cloths Rage wore...
"Rage?!" Christain gasps in disbelief "But how?!"
"I was able to use my remaining time to change to my Dark Form before I faded away. This way you thought I was dead and would let your guard down knowing that I was no longer a threat." Rage smiles in delight on his foes expression
"Rage?!" Icezer says waking up "NO! You have to be dead!"
"Well… I will let you take care of him Icezer!" Christain laughs disappearing and Mephilies following shortly after
"You will pay for what you did to Icezer!" Rage says before they disappear
"IF you live through this!" Christain laughs before he is fully faded
"Fine… I will kill you myself!" Icezer cries in anger jolting for Rage with two blades of ice in his hands. Rage warps to the left and lands a fire strike on his brother knocking him down
"Nice try but now… you're at my mercy!" Rage grins with fire coming from his left hand pointed right a Icezer
"NO! Not that!" Icezer says
"What the fire?" Rage asks looking at his hand "I thought you loved fire!"
"No you retard that's my weakness!" Icezer cries for mercy not seeing the golden glow on Rage's hand
The glow knock Icezer out and his fur lightens up back to its normal icy blue. Rage then dematerializes The Blade of Chaos and walks over to the group,
"Rage! You had us scared to death we thought you were dead!" Xage says
"Sorry but I had no other option…" Rage says sadly
"Well why didn't you tell us?" Nova asks
"If I told you I was afraid that Chrisstain would get the truth telepathically by reading your minds." Rage says to Nova
"Why didn't he figure it out by reading yours?" Sonic asks
"Because I protected it with a dark magig spell." Rage says then turns to his passed out brother "When Icezer awakens we will search for the two that are left."
