Hey, UknownHero here and welcome to another chapter of Diamonds or Pearls! Wow, I haven't done a chapter since… August 9. Whoa. Alright, this definitely needs an update. Nothing much going on right now apart in my life so hooray! You don't have to hear about my life story. Anyway, in advance, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Alright, let's do this!
Load Game… Start!
Chapter 14: A Normal Day
(Dylan's POV)
Well, it's been a day since me and Melissa got our first badges.
Our first step towards our dream.
Now it's time to step up our game and show what we're really made of.
At least, that's what I hope.
I yawned as I sat up in my bed. It's been a full 24 hours since me & Melissa got the Coal Badge, but I could still feel the energy I got from winning it. I felt great! Like I could do anything. But I quickly reminded myself not to get cocky. That was only the first Gym in Sinnoh and I need to start training my team for the Eterna City Gym. I'm sure Bella is my best Pokémon for this Gym as long as I don't use Water-type attacks and keep focused. Anyway, I got out of bed, took a quick shower before getting dressed. We decided to stay in Oreburg City for a bit before we hit the road again. I thought about maybe swinging by the Oreburg Mining Museum to see if I can get some new Pokémon forms from fossils. Highly unlikely, but it was worth a shot. Anyway, I went out of the room and went into the cafeteria to see Dawn & Melissa already eating their breakfast, "Hey, you could've at least waited." I muttered as I rub the back of my head,
"It's your fault you slept in." Melissa said as she took a bite of her toast, "Now hurry up and get some food. We're gonna leave in a few minutes." I nodded and grabbed some bacon and eggs before sitting down with my 'sister' and my best friend. Nothing much happened. We just talked about me & Dawn's next Pokémon Contest and some other junk. We all had individual plans. Dawn was going to shop for supplies, Melissa was going to train with Mew and I was going to see if I can fill up a few spots in my Pokédex and gain some new forms. After breakfast, we picked up our Pokémon before we all headed out.
(Melissa's POV)
"This looks like a good spot." I say to no one as I look around. I managed to get access to a private training area in Oreburg for a few hours. Usually, it was used to train Pokémon, but today it'll be used for something else, "Okay Mew, let's see what you've got for me." I whispered to myself before throwing out my Legendary. When she came out, she looked half asleep. She yawned cutely and rubbed her left eye,
'What do you want Melissa?' She asked,
"Mew, you told me you'll be training me in my Aura last night before bed! Don't tell me you forgot!" I exclaim,
'O-Oh! I know, I didn't forget,' She then yawned a bit more before slapping her cheeks a bit, 'I'm just a bit tired from my battle. That took a little bit more out of me than I expected. Don't worry. I'm awake now.' You know, I doubt that,
"Mew, I think you should rest. We can always train on the road. There's no point in hiding you from Dawn after all."
'No, really. I'm fine.' I only gave Mew a look, telling her I didn't believe her, 'Okay, we can put off your Aura Guardian training for now, but at least let me train with the others. We haven't exactly met yet after all.' I sighed before nodding at her, 'Anyway, once I wake up a bit more, I'll teach about Aura Sense.'
"Fine."I said before pull out Ave's & Pyra's Pokéballs, "Anyway, we need to train for the next Gym and I am not losing to a Grass-type Gym Leader." I then throw out the rest of my team, "Alright guys, I know you're feeling good about beating Roark but it doesn't mean we can get cocky! I want everyone doing their very best, so that means we have to train like there's no tomorrow! Let's show the world what we're made of!" I smiled as my team all got determined looks on their faces as they all cried out their names.
Gardenia is so screwed.
(Two hours later)
(Dylan's POV)
"Well, at least I got some Pokédex entries." I mutter to myself as I walked back to the Pokècentre. I did visit the Museum and got some info on the extinct Pokémon but sadly, I didn't get anything else. No new forms. On the bright side, I got a few new entries for my Pokédex and learned a bit history. Anyway, as I walked back, I saw Dawn carrying a lot of bags. And I do mean a lot. Some were survival supplies, but there were other things, like toys for the Pokémon and even some healing items. I was surprised to see that there were that many shops in Oreburg City but I guess a city isn't a city if you don't have a commercial district. Anyway, I couldn't just stand there looking at my 'twin' carry all that stuff so I ran up to her and offered to carry a few for her,
"Thanks Dylan." Dawn said as she gave me every single bag, "I was gonna drop this stuff off at the Pokècentre but you just saved me a lot of time. C'mon, I saw something really cute that would look great on Mimi!" She told me before dragging my ass with her,
"What did I drag myself into?" I groaned as I was practically dragged everywhere. Soon, Dawn had the exact amount of bags I had, "Dawn, I don't think our wallets can handle your shopping."
"Don't worry, it was all on sale. Plus, we still have enough money to survive." Dawn said before our stomachs growled, "Wow, lunch already?"
"Dawn, you go ahead and go to the Pokècentre. I'll go find Melissa. After lunch, we're going back to Jubilife." Dawn nodded as she started making her way back to the Pokècentre. When she left, I quickly tried to contact Mew, 'Lady, you there? Hello, this is Dylan "The Chosen One" Palms, does anyone copy?'
'What is it, Dylan?' The Psychic asked me. She sounded out of breath,
'Hey Mew. Are you training with Melissa?'
'Actually, I just finished. I even started training her in sensing Aura. She isn't perfect, but I'm guessing after a couple of sessions she'll get it done.'
'Okay. Anyway, we're hitting the road soon. Head back to the Pokècentre and prepare to head out.'
'I'll tell her. We'll be there soon.' She cut off the connection. With that out of the way, I started making my way back to the Pokècentre. It wasn't a long walk. Oreburg wasn't that big of a city but you could easily get lost if you didn't know your way. So happy I bought that Town Map earlier. Anyway, we all met back at the Pokècentre, had our lunch and started preparing for the road. After that, we left Oreburg City. A few hours later, it got dark and we had set up camp. Dawn was asking questions to Melissa about Mew over dinner, how she caught her and things of that nature. She lied her way through before we all decided it was time to sleep. The rest of the way to Jubilife City was pretty quiet, actually. We didn't talk much apart from the occasional warning of wild Pokémon or Trainer battle. Overall, it was a silent until me & Melissa started talking,
"You're really thinking about the future, huh?" She said,
"What?" Was my reply,
"Dylan, remember what you said a few days ago, after we won our badges? How we should just travel for fun after all of this together. Why are you thinking that far into the future?" I rubbed the back of my head, trying to think of an answer, "You don't know, do you?" I sighed and nodded my head, "Dylan, your home's at Earth. You have friends, fam-people that care about you. You can't just abandon them."
"I know! One side of me wants to go back home with you and forget about this whole thing. The other one wants me to stay with Dawn and live out my life as a Pokémon Trainer." I then sigh and rubbed my forehead, "Man, I really wish my sister was here. At least she could tell what to do."
"Well, she isn't. I'm sorry, but you have to make your own decisions." She then sighed, "Anyway, we shouldn't even be thinking about this! It's kinda too early to decide. Save for the end." I just nodded at her and spent the rest of the journey in silence. She's right. I'm getting too ahead of myself. I need to focus on right now, and that's saving the worlds, both Pokémon and mine, from Cyrus and Team Galactic,
"What is it about your sister?" Sparkle asked. Crap, I keep forgetting she's riding on my head,
"Nothing." She looked at me before shaking her head. I knew she knew that I was lying,
"I can see Jubilife City! If we hurry, we can make it before sundown." Dawn informed us. We nodded and started picking up our pace. We arrived at Jubilife at about 5pm,
"Well, we're here. We should check into the Pokècentre before we… do…" I started saying before I saw a very familiar guy in a trench coat coming straight for me, "Oh no."
"What?" Dawn asked,
"Ah! Dylan, just who I've been looking for!" Looker said as he walked up to us, "Hm, who are these two?"
"Um, I can explain!" I quickly said, "Melissa, Dawn, this is Looker the Detective. I met after the fight me and Dawn had."
"Dawn? You mean the one you called that ungrateful little-" I quickly covered his mouth before he could go any further. Okay, I admit I said some things that wasn't exactly PG. Or M to be precise,
"What did you call me?" Dawn growled as I started sweating my ass off,
"L-L-Looker, you wanted me for something?" I say as I drag him somewhere private and as far away from my 'twin' as possible. He cleared his throat and just gave me photos. I raised my eyebrow before I looked at the pictures.
All of them was of me in my Pikachu form rushing through alleyways. Probably from when I had to get registered.
Well, I'm boned.
"Uh… my Pikachu stole my hat." I lied as Sparkle gave Looker a sheepish look. He only glared at me, "Okay, fine! That's me, why do you have these anyway?"
"To warn you. I managed to intercept these photos and delete any evidence of your special ability. I'm telling to be careful, as one fatal mistake will get you and your friends captured." Looker said in a serious voice,
"Don't worry. I'll be careful. I promise." I say, "Hey, um, is there anything going on with Team Galactic?"
"Convenient that you mentioned them. I saw some men with strange haircuts and the Team Galactic symbol following an old man. I have reasons to believe that they're planning to attack him." Oh right! That part! Crap, Dawn isn't there to help him since she's with me. I need to get to Professor Rowan before it's too late,
"Thanks Looker! See ya soon!" I quickly say as I rush off back to Dawn & Melissa, "No time to explain! Rowan's in trouble!"
"What!?" Dawn exclaimed, "We have to save him!"
"Well, why are we still here? Let's go find him!" Melissa said as we all ran to find the Pokémon Professor. It didn't take too long as we found the Professor surrounded by three Galactic Grunts,
"Alright, old man, hand over your research before we take it from you!" One of the Grunts threatened,
"Why? My research is nothing of value to you!" Rowan said, "It's simply about Pokémon evolution, nothing more!"
"Ho ho ho, Professor, you don't understand what your research means to us. Now hand it over!"
"Let's show this old coot what Team Galactic's made of." Another Grunt said as he grinned evilly before they started taking out their Pokéballs. Time for an entrance,
"Don't even think about it, assholes!" I shouted at them,
"Says who?" One of the Grunts said as they turned to us,
"Says the guy who's team is about to kick your ass!"
"Hah, what are a couple of kids straight out of Trainer School gonna do to us?" One of them sneered. Me, Dawn & Melissa only looked at each other before nodding,
"This." I answered as we get out our Pokéballs, "Let's go, Oliver!"
"Piplup, take the stage!"
"Destroy them, Pyra!" We shout as we throw out our Pokémon. The Galactic Grunts looked at each other before throwing out a Zubat, a Glameow and a Wurmple. A quick scan from my Pokédex revealed that the Glameow was Level 11 while the others were Level 9. Luckily, our Pokémon were all Level 14,
"Walk away now, and no one will get hurt." I tell them,
"Heh, I was about to say the same thing." The Grunt with Glameow,
"Fine then. Your funeral."
-Dylan, Dawn & Melissa vs Galactic Grunt x 3-
"Pyra! Ember that Wurmple!" Melissa commanded. Her Charmander quickly shot out some Embers at the Bug-type and caused some major damage. Hell, it was close to fainting, "I got this one! You guys focus on the others!"
"Got it! Piplup, use Peck on Zubat!" Dawn ordered her Pokémon. Piplup quickly extended his beak and started pecking at the Zubat. Great, I guess I have to take down Glameow,
"Dylan, the battle!" Sparkle called out,
"What?" I said before realizing the Grunt wasn't waiting for me to attack,
"Glameow, use Scratch!" I heard the Grunt shout. Crap, I need to focus on my battle,
"Ollie, Withdraw!" I shout. He quickly treated into his shell, which took the majority of the damage of the attack, "That was weak. Oliver, Razor Leaf the stupid cat!"
"On it!" Ollie shouted as he shot leaves at the Catty Pokémon. Glameow quickly dodged it and used Pursuit on him. It wasn't powerful but it did some damage, "That didn't even hurt that much!"
"Man, we're over-leveled for this." I muttered before I got Ollie to Growl at Glameow and lowered her Attack. The Grunt made Glameow use Fake Out but it kinda failed, "Oh c'mon! Is that the best Team Galactic can do? You were definitely more threatening on the news!"
"That's it!" The Grunt shouted, "Stop attacking his stupid Turtwig and attack him instead!" As soon as those words came out of his mouth his Glameow stopped glaring at Oliver and looked at her Trainer in disbelief, "Why are you just standing there? Attack him! I order you t-" His Glameow then growled at him and proceeded to Scratch his face off before grabbing her ball off his unconscious body and handing it to me,
"Um, why did you do that?" I asked her,
"We can choose to abandon whoever has our Pokéball whenever we want, and I'm choosing to abandon him right now." Glameow explained to me before spitting on her former Trainer, "I was stolen from my family anyway. Would you… mind if I come along? I'm not much of a battler but I can try."
"Why don't the other Pokémon leave?" She looked surprised to see I could understand her. She quickly recovered and started explaining,
"Well, they're either mind controlled, never knew anything outside of Team Galactic or like being with these guys. I'm not any of them." She then gave me the cutest goddamn eyes she could muster, "Please, let me come with you." I just sighed. I get a free Pokémon with knowledge on Team Galactic. Sometimes, my luck is insane,
"Ugh… I hate being nice." I muttered before saying, "Fine, you can come with me."
"Yay!" She cheered, "I promise, I won't let you down!"
"Welcome to the team, Glameow!" Sparkle greeted the former Galactic Pokémon,
"Well, you can start by helping me deal with these Grunts."
"Got it!" I quickly stuff Glameow's ball into one of my pockets, returned my Turtwig and went to help out Dawn, "You need any help?"
"This stupid Zubat won't stop dodging my attacks!" Dawn said in frustration, "Piplup! Bubblebeam!"
"One more time!" I heard him shout as he shot another stream of bubbles at the Zubat, but it kept dodging it, "I getting really tired of this guy."
"Well, I know just the thing to do." I said with a smirk. I have no idea if would work, "Glameow! Charm!"
"What?" She asked, "I don't know that move yet!" Okay, mental note: transfer Glameow into one of my Pokéballs so I can learn her move set properly,
"Uh… Hypnosis?"
"I'm still learning that!" I sighed and face palmed. I am so bad at Pokémon,
"What moves do you know?" Glameow looked like she was in thought before a moment before giving answer,
"Shadow Ball!" She called out as she gather dark energy and fired it out of her mouth. The Shadow Ball quickly homed in onto the Zubat and quickly grounded it,
"Dawn, finish it off!" I quickly told my 'twin',
"Alright! Piplup, use Water Gun!" I knew Piplup had put in everything he had in this attack because the attack blew it back to its Trainer, now fainted. He quickly returned the unconscious Pokémon back into its Pokéball. I was about to help Melissa but then I saw she was had just finished her battle with the Wurmple,
"You brats!" One of the Grunts shouted at us as the guy Glameow knocked out, "You won't get away with this!"
"Sparkle?" I asked my Lightning Mouse Pokémon,
"Yes?" She said,
"Thunderbolt." She smiled evilly as she started charging herself up,
"Wait wait wait! We'll pay you if you don't shock us!" One of the Galactic Grunts offered. You know, that was actually pretty tempting. I was almost going to let them go.
Almost.
"Tell your boss Team Diamond is coming for him." I tell them right before Sparkle made them do a Team Rocket,
"Really? 'Team Diamond'?" Melissa said accusingly,
"Oh, you think of a better name!" I retorted,
"The Pokémon Heroes? Team Platinum? DMD? Legendary Trio?"
"'Legendary Trio' does sound pretty good." Dawn admitted, "A lot better than 'Team Diamond'."
"Well, thanks for the support, sister. I'm glad you have my back." I said sarcastically before Professor Rowan cleared his throat, getting our attention, "Oh right. Sorry. Professor, are you hurt?"
"I'm fine. Thank you for coming to my aid." Rowan said, "Can't imagine what they would do to me if you haven't come."
"No problem Professor." Melissa said, "Hey, we over heard that they wanted your research. Do you have any idea why?" Rowan just shook his head,
"I don't know, but let's be glad this ordeal is over and we are all unharmed."
"But it doesn't mean we're safe." I pointed out, "They probably see us as a threat now. We can't relax now."
"Dylan's right." Dawn said, "We have to watch out for more and stop them before they hurt more people or try to steal more Pokémon."
"Then I suggest you all head over to Eterna City. They have a building there and are highly likely causing trouble for Gardenia and its residents." The Professor suggested,
"I know that place. That was my home after I was captured." Glameow told me,
"Then you're definitely joining the team." I say as I pick her up, "Welcome to the Legendary Trio." I then felt Dawn & Melissa look at me accusingly, "Oh, don't judge me."
"I'm gonna go catch a Shinx tomorrow." Melissa muttered before turning to the Professor, "Anyway, we were glad to help. We should get going now. It's getting late and I'm hungry" I checked my Pokétch and saw that she was right. Shops were closing in an hour and I'm guessing the Pokècentre was already serving dinner. We probably won't make it in time to get all our fill,
"Well, as a reward for beating those Grunts, I offer you three dinner for tonight." Rowan offered,
"Oh, um, well, you don't-" Dawn quickly covered my mouth and told the Professor to met us at the Pokècentre by nine,
"We'll see tonight later Professor." The girls said as they waved good-bye. I just kept quiet and waved good-bye with them,
"We should head over to the Pokècentre and get our rooms." I say as I start walking in the direction of the Pokècentre, only for Dawn to grab my vest and pull me back in,
"What are you talking about? We have to get dressed up for the dinner! We have to hurry and get new clothes before the shops close!" Dawn said as she started dragging me towards the Jubilife City Mall, with Melissa just laughing at me as she followed,
"Can't we just use our Contest stuff!? We're kinda going over budget!"
"Don't worry, those guys from earlier left their wallets on the ground along with their credit cards. Now c'mon! We don't have much time!" I was about to complain more when I realized something.
I was probably going to a fancy restaurant.
With Dawn.
Apart from Melissa and Professor Rowan, I think I can call this a date.
I have a date with Dawn.
"I love being the Chosen One." I whispered to myself,
"The Chosen what?" Glameow asked, "What's going on here?"
"Uh… long story." Sparkle answered, "So, how would you react if I said Mew is my best friend?"
'I'M NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND, YOU PSYCHOPATH!' Mew shouted at her. I was sure everyone heard it because I saw them jump a little, with Dawn letting go of me, causing me to fall to the ground,
"And what about me!?" Mimi exclaimed after she popped out of her Pokéball, much to everyone's surprise, "We've know each other since you were a Pichu!"
"Uh, well, you see…" Sparkle started laughing nervously before looking at me, "Help me." She whispered. As her Trainer, I needed to help her in any way I can so I gave her my best answer,
"You're on your own." And I promptly gave her to Mimi, "Mimi, for the love of God don't faint her."
"Don't worry Bun-Bun, there are a lot of other things that are worse than fainting." Mimi said as she got an evil look on her face. All Sparkle could do was scream.
Save Game… Quit!
Whew! Done! Anyway, see ya whenever!
UknownHero signing off, my friends!
