Chapter 14:

A/N: Here's the next chapter hope you like it. Please review and let me know what you think!

Rebekah's POV

"Where is she? She should be back by now, she said she'd be back by now! Why isn't she here?" I ask pacing back and forth in the kitchen. It's mid morning and Yetta has not returned from her reconnaissance mission to Marcels club.

"Maybe she's asleep did you check her room?" Elijah asks glancing at me over the top of his newspaper.

"Of course I checked her room! Do you think I was born yesterday?" I snap at him.

"Well then perhaps she is with Niklaus. Have you seen him today?" he asks.

"He's in the bayou tracking down the remaining members of the pack that threatened Hope and attacked Yetta, so he can ask them if it was a pack decision to go after his daughter or just the five that carried out the attack." I say.

"They're hardly likely to admit that it was a pack decision." he comments.

"Yes, I know that, and I'm sure he knows that. But what they don't know is that he will know if they're not telling the truth, at which point he will either pretend he believes them and set a trap to catch them out, or take a more direct approach and start ripping heads off till one of them tells him what he wants to know." I say.

"So is Yetta with him? Because that sounds like the kind of thing she'd enjoy." he says.

"It is the kind of thing she'd enjoy, particularly the part where she gets to spend time alone with Klaus tracking the wolves. But no se is not with him, I called him when I discovered that she wasn't in her room and he informed me that he was alone." I say.

"Then maybe she went for a walk, or a run, or she's out terrorizing the neighbourhood." he says.

"A: she would have left a note if she was going for a walk or run. B: if she had gone for a walk or run she probably would have asked me if i wanted to come along, and C: she wouldn't terrorize the neighbourhood because she knows that would cause trouble for Klaus and causing trouble for Klaus is not something she would be willing to do." I say.

"Causing trouble with Klaus on the other hand is something she is totally open to." Hayley comments walking into the room with Hope. "At least that's what I'm assuming knowing Klaus."

"Your assumptions are spot on. Henrietta and Niklaus are more than happy to get into all kinds of trouble together, and have done so on multiple occasions over the centuries." Elijah says. "The most memorable of those occasions being their decision to break into the Tower of London and steal a sword from the armoury just to prove that they could."

"They broke into the Tower of London?" Hayley asks.

"And almost got caught in the process." he says.

"We did not almost get caught, that guard wouldn't have known we were there if we were wearing fluorescent yellow jumpsuits and screaming about the end of the world."Yetta says walking into the kitchen, pulling open the fridge and helping herself to a bag of blood. "There had been some kind of celebration and he'd evidently had a one too many pints of ale." she adds to Hayley as she sits down and starts drinking the blood.

"Where the hell have you been? I was worried about you!" I demand coming to stand in front of her with my hands on my hips.

"Sorry, I kinda ran into a little problem that prevented me from returning home when I intended." she says.

"What kind of problem? Are you ok? Is your cover blown?" Elijah asks.

"A witchy problem, I'm perfectly fine other than a mild head-ache and a few bruises. No my cover is not blown." she says.

"What happened with the witch?" I ask.

"I went to Marcellus's club as planned, he wasn't there so I went and sat at the bar to await his arrival. After sitting there for a few hours making small talk and seeing no sign of Marcel I decided to leave, only to be stopped by one of his minions who assured me that his boss was on his way and that I should stay a few more minutes and have another drink. So I agreed to another drink and a second round of meaningless small talk, a few more hours passed and still there was no sign of Marcel. I got up and informed my companion that I was leaving and that he should inform his boss that I would give him one more chance to meet with me before my offer was taken off the table then left the bar." she says.

"I don't see what part of that was a problem, or where the witch comes in." Elijah says.

"I was just getting to that." Yetta snaps with a glare so similar to Klaus's that Elijah takes an involuntary step backwards almost treading on Hope who is now crawling across the kitchen. "And would you mind terribly much NOT treading on your niece? Because I really don't think Nik would take kindly to your crushing his little girl with you great clumsy feet." she adds whipping round him and scooping the baby up into her arms.

"Is she ok? He didn't tread on her did he?" Hayley asks a note of panic in her voice as she comes to stand next to Yetta.

"She's fine, he didn't step on her." Yetta says handing the baby to her mother.

"Try looking where you're putting your feet next time Elijah." Hayley snarls at him.

"I'm sorry I didn't see her there." Elijah says sheepishly.

"Just pay more attention in future would you? She's starting to crawl now so she's going to be on the floor a lot." Hayley says and Elijah nods offering her a small apologetic smile which she returns.

"Could we maybe umm not mention this little incident to Klaus?" he asks looking around at all of us but his eyes resting the longest on Yetta who exchanges a look with Hayley before giving Elijah an almost imperceptible shrug of her shoulders. "Is that a yes?" he asks.

"Not my choice." she says.

"I know the two of you tell each other practically everything but can you please not tell him about this? We have just started to get our relationship back on track and I really don't want anything to ruin that." he says.

"Fine, I won't tell him." she says not sounding overly happy about it.

"Thankyou." he says.

"But if it happens again I will tell him and no amount of begging on your part will change that got it?" she says narrowing her eyes at him as if daring him to disagree with her.

"Got it loud and clear, if it happens again you tell Klaus." he says.

"So what happened after you left the club?" I ask after a few minutes of silence.

"I woke up to find Thomas my companion from the bar slapping my face, asked him where I was and he informed me that I was in his lair, and that he was not in fact a vampire but a witch who had taken a potion that made him appear to be one of the undead, that he'd spiked my drink with some kind of supernatural roofie that only works on vampires waited for it to take effect, knocking me over the head with a brick for good measure and dragged me to the place we now were and tied me to a table."she pauses to take a long drink of blood from the bag. "he prattled on about wanting to rid the world of vampires, we're an abomination blah blah blah you know how it goes, anyway to cut a long story short I played along with him lulled him into a false sense of security then overpowered him, snapped his neck escaped his lair and now here I am."

"What do you mean you 'played along'?" Hayley asks.

"I pretended that his crude little spells and techniques were working when in fact they were having no effect on me." Yetta says.

"But how is that even possible?" Hayley asks

"My mother was a powerful witch, she cast a protection spell on me that would make any magic used against me in a harmful way to completely ineffectual." Yetta says. "She burned the spell right after she said it and was killed by my father a few days later."

"So you're immune to dark magic?" Hayley asks.

"Any and all magic that is used with the intention of causing me harm." Yetta replies.

"That's a pretty big ace to have up your sleeve." Hayley says.

"It's definitely been somewhat of an advantage at times." Yetta says. "Needless to say it's not something that is commonly known, and I am only letting you in on the secret because you're family."

"I won't tell a soul I swear." Hayley says.

"I know you won't. I trust you, that's why I feel comfortable telling you." Yetta says with a smile.
