Finn's View
So here we are walking through the clay covered desert. It's been two days since we left the survivors cavern. Bmo was inside my pack trying his best to get the metal box open. Calamity was still nestled in my hood moving every now and then. We were in the midday heat and I was on my fourth Patch of the day already. My system seemed to be burning through the Patch's faster then before. Still they eased the itching that would pop up if I left my arm with out a working Patch.
Sighing in the heat it looked like we made very little progress to the clay mountain. It still looked very far away but I wasn't about to quit just yet. Taking a drink of water I kept going. It was odd to say the less after another hour of walking I started to see something in the distance. I couldn't tell what it was until I got closer after walking more. It was a corpse its face was covered by a black mask with sunglasses over the eyeholes. Then the suite it wore told me that it was male but his shoulder length told me he was older then me.
Tapping him on the shoulder I heard him groan. "Yo buddy drink this it will help". Pushing the container mouth to his he began to drink wildly. He then hopped up onto his feet shouting, "OH I'M ALIVE hahhah"! His suite was pitch black but the white shirt underneath was wide open revealing his barrel chest. He passed me back my container it barely had anything left. 'It's a good thing I bought a second container before I started my trip out here'.
Turning to back to me he patted my shoulder roughly saying, "Hey friend thank you. I was sure I was going to die. If you hadn't come along I would be a corpse. Can I ask you your name and why you're in this desert"? Looking at him his glasses shined with his cheery smile. Sighing I said, "The names F only my friend get to know my name". Man in black, "Well F it that how you want to be called I won't argue. But still I take it your in this desert looking for something". Nodding I said, "Yeah there is a town passed that mountain over there. It said to be under constant attack by a demon that kills people because they smell good. I was heading there until I came across you".
The man then walked a few paces away to pick something off the ground. It was a large cross-wrapped up by straps and some cloth. Turning back to me after picking it up one handed he said, "Well F I'm was looking through this desert for some info. Then I got lost in a sand storm"! His exposed mouth and chin mask showed him giving a goofy smile, as I stood there dumbfounded. 'Jake talked about how dumb I could be sometimes. But this guy's just plan wacky'.
Clearing his throat he continued, "Well I'm a traveling priest and I came here off of some rumors. So maybe this town you're heading to might have some answers, that and you're the only source of water around here. Hahahah"! Sighing I began to walk in the direction of the mountain. He kept chuckling until he stopped to say, "Oh right my name is Nicholas, but you can call me Wolfwood".
It was odd to say the least five days of traveling with Wolfwood. And for a priest he was really underprepared to travel into the desert. He ran out of water eight days in, lost his food in the storm that hit him on the ninth day, then ran into me after crawling for another four days. This guy would have been another corpse for the desert if I hadn't come along. But for some reason he was calm traveling with me. Then the stories he would tell about old world tech that he came across surprised me.
How Some old planes made by humans had flow over parts of the oceans. Only to reveal them selves as spirits looking for their base to land. Then tales of tech warriors out to find the descendants of humans to activate old technology. Only that they were rumored to have been killed in an ambush planned by a mad king. Wolfwood seemed to have traveled more then I had in his many years as a priest. We finally made it to the mountains foot but it was dark. "No use killing our selves lets make camp and start at dawn".
As we started the fire Wolfwood eyed me pulling off and putting on a new Patch. Breathing deeply at the relief of the new Patch it stopped the itch once more annoying my arm. Wolfwood took a sip of water then asked, "Hey F are you a smoker"? Sternly I said, "No these Patch's are to help me control and tap into my powers". Getting up I squeezed my left fist and shot a lighting bolt from my hand. Feeling my powers flow free from my gloved hand was really something in the ambers of the fire and teal lite night. With a dumb founded look over his mask he chuckled and said, "For a while I though you where a smoker because of the patches. Any way we hand a long day a head of us so lets get some sleep". Nodding I leaned against a mound of clay and felt Calamity change to the front of my neck. Trying to contain my giggle she popped up to my nose and licked it. Then tucked back into my scarf.
'Goodnight to you to Calamity'. Petting where I thought her head would be I soon was off in the void of my own night.

'Another Lurker report another two officers hospitalized. For every one variant of these phantoms I loss three officers to the hospital wards. Sure there are plenty of rookies coming out of the training program every five months. But it's not enough they don't have enough field experience to combat the Lurkers. We need a lead on where they're coming from at least that will provide us with something'.
A knock at my office brings me out of my train off though as one of my grade three officer's made his way inside. Saluting me with his pointer and middle fingers extended and the rest tucked into his fist I dismissed his saluted. Sitting down the young mage before me was from Wizard city it was rare for magic users to help the other kingdoms. They were always neutral in the affairs of kingdom even during wars they stood by stating neutrality. But a few magical uses asked if they could be of assistances and I wasn't one to turn them down.
Young mage officer, "Sir we made contact with a new variant of Lurker near the Rock kingdoms borders. It was a combination of three instead of one element. Its mix was of sand, water, and some wood from the nearby forest". Smacking my hand on to the side of my head I asked him the question I hated the most. "How many injured"? Exhaling he said, "None sir the Lurker once reaching the border lost power some how and exploded into its vapor form. We went to investigate and found its point of formation. With further investigation we found these odd drawings in the ground".
Looking over the picture the drawings were a random array of lines. But one set of lines actually looked like words. Blocking the rest of the lines the remaining ones made two words 'Grass prince'. 'Who could…. why would someone target Finn when he's not even here'?
Finn's View
This wasn't as bad as climbing the mountain back in OOO. It was just really uncomfortable to say the least. The clay was absorbing the sun's heat and we were well past midday. With no ledge big enough to take a break on we had to push on. I knew Wolfwood was having a harder time then me. After all he had to carry that cross against his back. Pushing with all we had we made a dent into the climb. But with no sign of a place to rest we had to keep going.
My breath became harsh and my throat and lungs felt so dry. But with no place to rest I couldn't reach for my containers. My sweat clung to my face soon dry clay that would be kicked up by the wind started to stick to me. As the night sky slowly crept over us we had to keep going. I could feel the itch nip at my arm now but it would have to wait. The stars it always so nice to look at them, imagining I was one of them. Just drifting lazily through the cool night sky helping people find their way. (Play Imagine Dragons 'It's Time' as they climb the mountain). As we continued to climb my grip slipped and my exposed finger got cut up as I tried to regain my grip. Blood trickled into my glove as the sting of my raw finger started to plague me. Wolfwood, "F you ok". "Just lost my grip we need to hurry". Nodding we continued to climb the sting of my raw fingers attacking me every so often.
Soon we were both climbing right next to one another. As we came to an extended cluster of clay, pushing out from the mountainside dread filled us. We had to hang by our arms, with our feet dangling under us. I was on edge feeling the inside of my gloves become moist. We took our time and made it over the rock cluster but Wolfwood lost his grip. Snapping to him quickly we caught each other's arms. His weight instantly hit me nearly casting me my own grip. But keeping calm I took a breath and looked at him. Giving me a nod that he was ok I went straight into my plan to get him back to climbing. In a swinging motion I propelled him back onto the mountainside. Wolfwood, "Thanks F". Just shaking my head I once more questioned how this priest survived on his own for so long. The hours seemed to go on endlessly not moving even a little.
I felt my body well past it limits but I wasn't giving in. It's not like me to give into my limits, even when I wanted to. But after the endless dark of the night we reach the mountains top. This mountain was smaller than the mountains back at OOO but I wasn't any less difficult to climb a mountain. We took in deep breaths tired out off our minds. Taking a moment to brush off and treat any joint crams and scratches. We stuffed our faces once everything else was taken care off. I had to quiet the constant itching my arm was giving me it was worse than before. It took two Patch's to stop the itch after going hours with out changing the old one.
A wave of sweet relief washed over me as I felt the formula enter my system. I felt my hand twitch a few times and my neck became stiff. Wolfwood was eating a bag of potato chips and I went onto feed Calamity some pieces of peach. Then for me I was eating three chocolate bars and drinking down my last soda. Wolfwood, "Damn we were up all night F". Looking out to one side we saw the sun beginning to peak over the horizon. I chuckled saying, "Means we won't be getting any sleep until later. Lets get moving". Sigh he pushed up from the rock he was sitting on.
Finding a way around the mountains top we looked out over its opposite side to see our destination. Luckily we didn't have to climb down the other side. Finally back on ground level we had to walk an addition mile after navigation back down the mountains jagged side. But it was worth it we finally made it to the town. It was a little shantytown with clay homes that had cracks here and there. But what was surprising was the atmosphere. It felt as if we were being watched but there wasn't any one around. No one was in the streets or even looking out the doorways.
That was until a grey teal colored middle-aged woman came out of one of the houses. She was holding a two-barreled laser blaster. It was old tech but it was common for the older generations around OOO to pass down weapons from the war that wasn't destroyed. That was if you could keep it working some couldn't. Woman, "You two what do you want and don't lie".
With my hands up I said, "Hey I'm an adventurer and I'm here to kill the demon that's been bothering everyone". The women spat at the ground then looked at Wolfwood, "You with this crazy kid"? Wolfwood, "Well I'm a traveling priest Madame if it wouldn't be much could I trade for some food and water. Then I'll let my crazy little friend here deal with your problem". Women, "Son you got a death wish cause no one and I mean NO one could killer Jeepers Creepers".
Looking at her sternly I said, "I'll faced far worse than a lone demon Miss. I've killed corpses, giants, killer creatures of myth, and even fought against several super powered beings of evil. One demon does scare me". Her eyes widen as she slung the weapon over he shoulder. Women, "Everyone come out we might have just hit some good luck". With that a small crowd surrounded us and we were escorted to the towns bar. There the people began to explain their situation they faced for so many years. Placing my pack next to the table we sat at. Wolfwood and I got some beer as an old man started, "It all happened some years ago. It was just a harmless song that played on the radios we have. But then people started to hear odd knocks on their roofs and doors. When morning came we saw claw marks all over. But only on a few houses not all". A younger man by the bar counter spoke next, "It took my mother and sister right out of their rooms. As it flew off into the night I felt a chill… not from the cold air. But of pure terror".
The women from earlier was named Maz she spoke saying, "Every time that song played Jeepers would come and take people. Never a set number we could hear their screams coming from deep inside the molten clay mountain. But no one would go inside that hot melted clay mine. They would be burnt alive before finding a clear way in there. This town used to have over three hundred people now we're down to less then sixty. The neighboring towns got it much worst then us. The sands storms force then to flee. Only for Jeepers to pick them off, kid if your going to face Jeepers you've got to find this".
Passing me a piece of torn paper with what looked like a bat like persons. It had clawed hands and feet, fearing the light of a cross. Looking over at Wolfwood he shook his head saying, "Hey my cross is not the heavenly". Maz, "No not his one the cross in this picture is said to have sealed Jeepers before. If you can get into his mountain lair….." She stopped dead in her sentence as the radio came to life with a song.
I don't care what the weatherman says
When the weatherman says it's raining
You'll never hear me complaining
I'm certain the sun will shine
I don't care how the weather vein points
When its points to gloomy
It's got to be sunny to me
When your eye look into mine
Jeepers, Creepers… where'd you get those peepers
Jeepers, Creepers… where'd you get those eyes
Gosh oh, get up…
As the song continued a large thud shook the bar some people start to panic. The rattle of long sharp nails racked against the clay was disturbing. Pulling off my old Patch's then stuck two new one to my arm and ran outside crossbow at the ready. Looking along the sun drenched roof I saw nothing only the creepy song playing from the bar. Then a steady whistle started to match it in tone and pitch. Looking around frantic to find the whistles source only to see the open a heat drenched streets. In an instant my heightened senses kicked at me. Turning in time I managed to just dodge a crude dagger passing my face.
Firing two bolts from my crossbow at the tattered long cloak, with a worn out hat, it's over all outfit reading creepy. Throwing a volt grenade it distracted it long enough for me to shoot once again landing two in the chest. What was disturbing was it wasn't bleeding just clay dust came out of the wounds. Thinking fast I shocked in with a full blast of lighting. Sending it straight into a house support pillar. As the dust that was kicked up, slowly began to touch the ground. From within the settling dust three fast projectiles erupted. In all they missed but then another one went straight into my leg. Not thing was going to stop the fast moving instrument this demon threw at me. The pain was instant making my line of sight change to my leg. At an unnatural speed Jeepers was on top of me pinning me to the ground. I tried to struggle but one off its hands kept my crossbow from lining up with its body. Plus it had its barefoot keeping my arm pinned by the gauntlet shields face. Seeing its face was just unreal. Leather like oily skin with four odd segments in its face. All its teeth at a point then lastly its rancid breathe. It made me want to puke but worst of all as I looked into it eyes I felt scared.
'Why am I afraid of this thing? It looks no different for other demons I've fought. Then why"? A swift attack knocked Jeepers off of me as I saw Wolfwood extending his hand to me. Wolfwood, "F what's wrong"? I turned to him saying, "I don't know just looking at it made me afraid. But I just don't get it, its as if it's making me afraid of it".
Jeepers throw more of its odd projectiles some smashing the windows of the bar scaring the people even more. Wolfwood shouted, "No one attacks innocence when I'm around. Demon meet your judgment". With he removed the cloth around his cross and gripped an opening in the center where all the points meet. Then the lower half opened revealing it to be a human weapon. Opening fire the loud echo's of the weapons ammo screamed from the barrel. His stance showed how even if he missed he was ready to fight.
Jeepers took to the air avoiding Wolfwood's attacks. Its bat like wings slightly flesh toned and showing large chunks missing. Or holes in both wings with some sunlight poked through. As I aided in the attack I switch to my explosive bolts. Avoiding a large majority of our attacks. One got him in the ribs and then in a shriek he flew off towards the mountain. Feeling pain still piercing my leg I looked down to see what looked like an ivory shuriken. Pulling it free a flood of blood pushed out to travel down my leg and onto the dry clay under me. Wolfwood looked over to me and said, "Damn that looks nasty lets get you inside". Slinging my crossbow over my shoulder he started to help me up. But before I could stand fully something shined overhead. Pushing him out of the way I drew my sword to block the projectile. With the dagger coming into contact with my blade just proved disastrous.
Indeed it stopped Jeepers throwing dagger but my Root sword got cracked a few inches above the hilt. As the two halves came loss from one another I felt my heart sink. Mainly because I got this sword as a gift from Wildberry princess. She gave it to me as a gift the same day she was targeted by Me Mow. Seeing one half of it just lying on the ground was upsetting. Picking it up I followed Wolfwood back into the bar.
Maz, "I see you felt the same thing everyone else did. Anyone who's fought Jeepers head on was scared by him either directly or indirectly. F you need to get into his hideout and find DE Marco's Tear Cross. It's the only weapon that can kill him. Anything else just makes him want to kill more. Please if you really want to help it's the only way". Wolfwood, "If all of you know so much why don't you go get it. Let me guess your all to scare to loss your lives right".
With my wounds bandaged I placed my pack into aback room while Wolfwood talked. Looking over the weapons Jeepers threw at Wolfwood and me. One word came to mind 'disgusting' the weapons it threw at us were made of bone a mix of claw and skin. Opening my pack Bmo popped out about to speak when I stopped him. "Bmo I need you and Calamity to stay here. I want you two to stay safe. And don't worry I'll be fine". Calamity put up a fight not wanting to leave my hair. But when I calmed her down she stayed next to Bmo as I pulled out some supplies. I also packed the remains of my Root sword seeing that it was of no use in its current state.
Reloading my belts ammo clips I then pulled the belt around my waist. Moving to the door I gave my two little companions one last nod and left. Wolfwood was still talking to the people as I reentered the bar. Not even listening to him as he called my name, I made my way outside of the town. Wolfwood, "Hey F are you crazy these people don't know for sure it that Cross is even still there. Don't just throw your life away". Turning to him I said, "Wolfwood I won't left these people live in constant fear with what life they have left. No I'm helping them its my code and I wouldn't leave people to suffer. As long as I still breath I will help anyone that asks for it"!
With that I left him standing there dumb founded once again and then after a while he started to follow me. Wolfwood picked up his pace until he was right next to me saying, "Well we both must be stupid then. I hope that cross is there cause I don't think mines is that holy anymore". "When was it ever"? Looking at me he soon started to laugh in time I joined in. Reaching into his poked he pulled out half a cigar and the proceeded to light and smoke it. "Now who's the smoker"? Wolfwood, "I only asked cause you looked like you needed one". Sharing another laugh I start to like this priest he was funny and out there. Much like Jake and me.
It didn't take us long to get back to the mountain nor finding Jeepers lair. All we hand to do was find the only place in the mountains side that had creepy written on it. Boy did we find it. Pushing into what looked like a mineshaft was just the start. As went deeper I attached a new set of Patch's to my arm and ignited my powers. Lighting the way was horrifying, along the walls were the people Jeepers attacked. Some were missing one or two parts of their bodies. Others had next to nothing but getting our nerves to push forward was a challenge. Every turn in the mine showed more of Jeepers victims each with a face of fear or agonizing pain. What was really surprising was the condition their bodies were in. They looked nothing like their dusty exterior, it almost looked like the decaying process stopped completely.
Inside we felt the heat from the molten clay Maz told us was inside the mountain. Soon we found our selves in what looked like his chambers. Wolfwood, "Yup this has Creepy demon home written all over it. It's just missing one thing". "Let me guess the demon". Making our way into the chamber more Wolfwood started to say, "well we have creepy house decoration but no creepy jerk off to go with it". Shaking my head with a smirk that read 'did you really say that' was interrupted by what sounded like shifting clay. With that pieces of clay fell down around us moving as quickly as we could we got out of the way. But a jet of steam from the floor struck Wolfwood's face. Tearing his mask off he said, "I'm ok my mask stopped plenty of it". (Authors note; play Skillet Monster as you read this fight).
As more pieces of clay fell around us we soon were hiding behind on of the support pillars of the chamber. Looking over at Wolfwood he had a slight burn at his neck, but just as well I saw his face fully he was…human. "Wolfwood you're human". Wolfwood, "F NOT NOW. Kill demon first remember". Running out at different moments we each took one side of the chamber and opened fire at the flying demon. Wolfwood got Jeepers a few times in the chest but once I electro leashed him I pulled off his arm. Shrieking at the pain I dealt it as it arm now laid motionless on the floor Jeepers attacked the ceiling. Wolfwood opened fire with another potion of his cross firing a large canister propelled by fire. It collided with the ceiling just missing Jeepers but still caused larger pieces of clay to fall around him.
Wolfwood, "F FIND THE CROSS! I'll cover you"! Making a mad dash to what looked like a coffin hanging over a ledge I started to look around. There was nothing inside but a little ways way was a table press against an upper level wall. Moving to a ladder I went up to check it out. As more fire from Wolfwood weapon riddled through the room I need to find the DE Marco's Cross fast. There it was cover in dust chained to a little pedestal. Pulling hard with my electrified hands I free the Cross. Whipping off the dust I saw at each point of the Cross had a gold diamond and a rounded end. At its center were three pearls with a citrine nestled in the middle of the triangle formation of the pearls.
It silver body in all was nice but something brought me back to reality. Wolfwood had stopped shooting and as I turned their stood Jeepers. Before I could react he pinned me to the wall bearing his teeth. His claws sinking into the side of my ribs slightly, I could feel his claws nearly draw blood.
Wolfwood's View
I didn't know what was happened just moments ago I was fighting a demon and everything went dark. Until a little digital voice was shouting in my ear. Opening my eyes I saw a little semi-circular robot shouting, "Please help him help Finn"! Digital tears was on it screen but then I turned to the sound of struggling. I remember F and I were in Jeepers lair and his little clay trick got me. I knew I was going to have a nasty bump later but now wasn't the time to think about it. Looking over the ledge above the chamber floor I saw F and Jeepers fighting. As they struggled Jeepers claw cut into f's left cheek and along his neck. Red blood began to trace down the open wound.
But why did this little bot tell me his name was Finn a name I hadn't heard in years. 'No it couldn't be him…. Could it'. Looking at the bot it ran off in terror and saw F struggle turn more violent. Trying to get up my feet were caught in the clay but as F yelled in his fight his face came loss from his hoodie mask. It clicked his face, his hair, and his eyes all matched. The Jeepers sank his teeth into Finn's arm. Finn, "AARGHGGEAA"! I felt his pain as Jeepers teeth continued to sink into his shoulder draw large pints of blood. I couldn't take it with all my long power I shouted, "FINN"!
Taking aim I tried to fire only to find I was out of ammo. Then Looking up I saw Finn bleeding on the floor of the ledge missing his right arm. Jeepers turned back to him with Finn's hand dangling from its open mouth. It was eating his arm and enjoying it.
Finn's View
I was riling on the ground in pure pain Jeepers was looking over me eating my arm. It was killing me I could still feel my arm. Blood still pumping as if it was still attached to my body only now it was in Jeepers guts. The warmth of my blood coating the inside of my jacket, told me to put pressure on my wound to stop the bleeding. Pain and fear was kicked into me once again. But then Wolfwood shouted my name. I never told him my name but I turned as the shocking pain of my wound was still clawing at my being. Jeepers turned to him as he tried to shoot him. But he was out of ammo. Another section of his crossed open and smaller one-handed old tech weapons popped out.
Wolfwood soon opened fire shout at Jeepers to get away from me. As Jeepers left to deal with Wolfwood I focused on the Cross I was in pain. Plus losing Glob knows what amount of blood. But my job was to help kill it not be over come by fear once again. Pulling my body until I was leant again the chambers wall my body scream at the idea of moving. But I need to and even added three more Patch's to my stomach to help with the pain. I heard a thunderous explosion like before as I propped my self into a sitting position along the wall. Then Jeepers flying over Wolfwood as he fell into the molten clay. I couldn't see if he was ok or not but the large splash of clay kicking into the air didn't help.
My heart sank not only did this asshole kill the only human I met my whole life. But now I would never get close to my answers. I screamed not of pain but of anger. Pushing up until I was standing completely even with my entire body telling me no. I shouted, "I WILL KILL YOU"! The Cross-began to glow in my bloodied grip as I felt it felt what I felt. Its power flow through me but my full attention was on Jeepers. Focusing all thoughts into I its glow grew. It changed shape into bearded axe. Its cutting edged curved almost into a circle but stopped before the toe passed a certain point. The toe was a lined with the back of the handle. Its heel bit had space for me to hold it inside the open beard of the axe. The triangle jewel formation nestled through both sides of the axes cheeks.
While the diamonds went down along the handle its spiral grip felt nice. But my rage need to be quenched and the Demon flying at me was my only goal. Leaping over it I sliced off both its wing and section of its leg. Crashing to the ground it was struggling to stand. I landed in a similar fashion off balance pain kill me every nerve. With time I reached for two new Patch's and stuck them to my neck. Then as Jeepers began to rise I charged him blood lust coursing through my eyes. It swung at him while avoiding its claw but in a wide arch I brought the axe down onto its head. The warmth of my blood still flooded down my side but it wanted him so suffer as I did.
It shrieked in pain as the power of the Cross-burned its leathery skin. Pulling back I wasn't done even as it tried to flee I hacked into its back a few times stopping to look at it. I said, "You think this is over. You really should think again". In my rage I brought the axe down numerous time. Cutting into Jeepers as limbs soon started to separate from his torso. Its dust filled wounds sending ash into the air as I pulled the Cross free from each swing. Once every limb was free from his torso and burned at different points I felt satisfied. I then started to kick the remains into the molten clay pit saying, "That was for Wolfwood you fucker, burn in the Night-O-Sphere forever".
Picking up my Crossbow and attaching it to my belt, I turned to see Bmo. Bmo ran to me crying digital tears. Picking him up one handed I tried to comfort him saying, "Its ok B I'm alive and nothing will change that anytime soon bro".
Jester stretch's slightly then writes; Ok thanks for reading all of you it really helps to hear such good things when you have to deal with a room mate like Smiles. Also if your wondering yes he's still running guy really hates learning. Like I said the schedule for my classes is a little crazy but once I get a system going I'll start posting as soon as possible. Well hope to hear from you all and peace off.
