A Stupid Yet Thankful Pair Up- Lets Call Quits and Admit

Maka didn't know what happened because everything that happened, happened so quickly she couldn't even process it was all in her mind right now. There she was on the ground, Soul was in front of her panting heavily she could hear each breath that he took. She then noticed what had happened and her eyes went wide on the spot.

The guys that were messing with her earlier laid there on the ground knocked out! There was no way she could believe that Soul had taken them all down by himself. He couldn't have there was just to many of them to take on.

Soul turned towards her and helped her up and Maka got a better view of the situation. Then she remembered that there was a gun that was fired off. She looked on her body for any wounds, but she didn't see a scratch on her body at all. She then looked towards Soul and saw red leaking from his shoulder which made her act quickly by placing her hands on the wound making him grunt.

"Soul! Are you alright! Your hurt!" She panicked trying her best to stop the bleeding. Soul only removed her hand from his wound and gave her a small smirk before, grabbing her hand and making his way around the thugs that laid on the ground before them. She stared at Soul's wound for a minute before thinking about what she should do to help.

It was her fault that he was hurt considering she ran off by herself. She only sighed, which caused Soul to stop walking and turn around to face her. She couldn't help to frown and look the other way.

"What's wrong?"

She looked up at him and only cocked a brow in confusion, why would he ask her a question like that? He should already know what's wrong with her. He should know that she felt guilty about getting him in this situation, then again he was Soul...why would he understand any of her feelings right now. She focused more on his wound than anything else.

"Soul, you can't be serious! Your hurt and its all my fault." She snapped at him for being so oblivious. He looked at his shoulder that was hit by the bullet. He was so tired he couldn't remember what happened at all. The only thing he remembers was telling Maka to duck and the shot caught his arm. The guy aimed at Maka and that's when he got angry. The rest was self explanatory.

He watched as she panted for air, her eyes were weary and frustrated. He grabbed her hand once more before taking her back to the bench they were sitting at earlier, he didn't give two shits whether those guys lied there all day or not. If Maka was alright then that was all the he cared about. She sat next to him without saying a word. He then sighed and decided to speak up.

"You don't have to worry, its not your fault. I chose to help you." He muttered turning his head in the opposite direction. When she turned to look at him. She stared at him for a brief second and rolled her eyes. This is why she hated boys...this is why she cant stand men...this is why she chooses not to befriend them too.

She only snorted causing Soul too look over in her direction. She looked really pissed and honestly he had no clue why she was pissed at all. He didn't say anything wrong did he? He watched her for a moment and she only turned the other way.

"Are you really that stupid..."

"What?"

She snapped her head back in his direction holding an angry glare."I said, are you really that stupid!"

She said it with a big more tone at the end of her voice, which Soul has to admit startled him a little bit. He didn't see what the big problem was at all. She was safe and luckily not killed, now she's telling him off like he's the bad guy. What did he do to make her so upset? He thought as he touched his wound slightly.

"Tell me Maka, what makes me stupid? I would really like to know." He snickered, making sure less blood was coming out.

She rolled her eyes."You know what...just don't worry about it. You obviously don't get it Soul! You didn't have to save me! But you did, I wanted to take responsibility for your wounds, and you wont let me! Why do you men always think that if you happen to save some girl she would instantly fall for you!" She screamed getting up from her seat."Stop playing the fucking hero all the time!" She was now screaming towards the sky.

He was lost, she was completely off of topic and he's is now 100% sure that she broke an eardrum of his. What did her not liking guys have anything to do with him wanting to protect her? Obviously this was way over her head and he needed to set things right. He had a good feeling that if it wasn't for this stupid game, none of this would of happened in the first place.

He let out a sigh as he watched Maka curse silently to herself. He then got up and walked behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder which caused her to spin around and give him a cold glare. He wasn't going to let that get in his way. She needed to understand and hear him out.

"Maka. I know you have a thing against men...and I know where your going at with this. I didn't protect you just to get you to like me..I protected you because I wanted too." He sighed before continuing."You have to understand, the reason that game was played, was to get you to understand that not all men are not the same." He told her.

She only stared at him before narrowing her eyes at him. She retracted his hand from her shoulder before turning her attention towards the ground. It made her shutter when she noticed a small pool of his blood beneath her feet.

"Soul. I'm sorry, I am very grateful for what you have done for me..." She muttered, looking up at him hoping that the image with his blood would completely fade from her mind.

"You know."

This caught her attention.

"What?"

"Your the biggest suck up Maka." He laughed.

Maka only gave him a small and tender smile, before walking up towards him and wrapping her arms around him. She hugged him as tightly as she could, Soul on the other hand was a little bit stunned and shocked at the same time to react. Maka was a little shocked with herself as well. The only other boys she really hugged was, Kidd, Blackstar and her father. Soul was the first actually guy that she hugged willingly...and the way she was hugging him was new to her also.

"If only I wasn't afraid to love you." She whispered. Soul's eyes went wide, and Maka pulled away from him. She gave him a smile and then it faded into a frown and that got Soul very confused. She then started to back away from him. Soul raised a brow before walking closer to her, and she only stepped back even more. What was wrong with her?

"Maka?" He asked.

"The game is over...you win." She muttered turning away from him before running off.

"Maka...wait!"

She just kept running. He sighed, running his hand through his hair before cursing to himself. She was afraid to love him? He couldn't believe it, he kind of hoped that if they patched thing up here. He would be the first to admit to her, but it was the other way around. A small pain shot through his arm causing him to wince.

He needed to get that treated immediately because it did in fact hurt, but not as much as Maka was probably hurting right now. There was only one thing to do and that was to find Liz and ask for her help as much as he hated to admit it. She was sort of the one to cause all of this, so she should be able to fix it and if not.

He would have to do it himself.
