Jane Langer holds onto her grandmother's finger, moving at a glacial pace with the woman, going toward her aunt's bedroom. She squeals with excitement when she catches sight of the teenage appearing girl. Sarah Jane grins broadly, "See? She's quite happy to see you."
Sky sits up in the bed, clapping her hands with excitement, "I've miss you both. All day in here, you know. Touch a frog and they lock you up." A wave of relaxation rolls over her. Her mother wouldn't be seeing her if she knew any type of information.
"If I never see a frog again, I'll be okay with that." She smiles, touching the bases to the protection dome around the bed, completely taking it down.
The young woman jumps off the bed, wrapping her arms around her mother tightly. She giggles softly when her niece hugs onto her leg, "I've missed you both so much. They wouldn't let me see you."
"I know." Sarah Jane nods, softly kissing the young woman's forehead.
The Doctor knocks on the door frame of the girl's room, "Did you tell her?"
"I haven't had the opportunity."
"What is happening?" Sky stands upright, looking between the two adults.
"Doctor?" Sarah Jane raises an eyebrow, wanting him to tell her.
"Listen to me very carefully." The Doctor walks closer to her, "I'm going to tell you something and set the memory in the back of your mind so that you will subconsciously know how to deal with the threat if it ever attempts to do anything. Of course, precautions have been taken with Mister Smith and the lock box system, attempting to access either if there's an anomaly with you will cause them to lock completely and we will be contacted immediately." He nods, "Now, just look me in the eye." The Doctor places his hand against her head, placing her into a trance, informing her of her parentage and setting the knowledge of the memory elsewhere in her mind. He also tells her how to deal with with an occurrence of the Trickster attempting to use her as a vessel.
Sky's eyes blink rapidly once the man removes his hand, "What was that?" She raises an eyebrow, "Were you going to say something?"
"No, nothing. You should be fine now though." He nods, watching as she takes her niece from her mother, "Should we have pizza tonight?"
"Pizza would be lovely." Sarah Jane places her hand on the young woman's back, "Let's go downstairs."
"Jack, look." Andrea watched the beasts as they carried large packages into a building, "What do you suppose is the likelihood that those sacks are filled with cats?"
Jack tried his best not to laugh, "You just get crazier by the day."
"Should I go and ask them?"
"I think you probably should just-"
"Hello, gentlemen." She hops over the fence, walking toward the few beasts that were outside, "My name is Andrea, what's yours?" When she noticed them immediately pull out weapons, she began to run back towards where she was before, "Bad idea, Jack! Why didn't you stop me?"
"No one ever can." Jack followed her when they attempted to run from the group that were now chasing them, "Got a plan B?"
"Let them catch us." Andrea nods.
"I'd say that's worse than the first one."
"Are you angry because you have kittens in those potato sacks?" She called out to the beasts that were following her, hearing them immediately stop their pursuit, she turns, "I like kittens. I do hope you aren't harming them."
"They aren't kittens." Humanoid in nature, the voice sounded as if it were gargling, gun still drawn on the pair. He tilts his head to the side, "I'm unsure what kittens are."
"Little fuzzy things that mew and climb on things and scratch things."
"They sound horrible."
Jack shrugs, "The only thing I'm allergic to." He nodded between the two.
The beast picked his rifle up, shooting his partner dead, "I'm a detective for the Shadow Proclamation, sent here to spy on the Zignaughts, a race from the outer reaches of the Dishnomat Nebula. They're believed to be harvesting from other planets. Especially with Hermea Twelve was suddenly gone in a day."
Andrea placed her hands onto her hips, "Was it necessary to kill this guy?" Anger crosses her face.
"Couldn't have him running back and blowing my cover. Especially with this bio damper and hologram adjustment band obviously visible." The beast shows his silver bracelet, "I've got this covered, You two need to get back to wherever you came from because they're going to come looking for you when I tell them that you killed poor Carl here."
"Why tell them anything?" Jack yelled slightly, "Now they're going to hunt us!"
"Didn't see anyone do it. Might have been a young human girl and an older human man. Might have been." The beast smirked, "Oh, by the way, My name is Tenniatomnottroasmanderson...or Tom for short.'
"Well, I thank you, Tom. We will be on our way." Andrea pulled her companion's sleeve, getting him to follow her.
"What are you doing? Something isn't right here." Jack whispers to her, angry.
"Oh, of course it isn't." She answered nonchalantly.
"And we're just going to get in your blue box and take off?"
"Of course we aren't." Andrea smirked, running in a different direction from her ship, hearing him laugh behind her.
"When we got in there, they were using dead and decomposing human bodies as...fertilizer. Fertilizer to grow a batch of their own people. Of course, the guy who was chasing us was all in on it. Didn't want his bosses to get wind that he was on the slip." Jack tells the story to the group before him, "Drea goes in and he's the bloody shot caller. It was incredible. Remember that?"
"I've been to a lot of places, Captain Harkness." Andrea leans against Clyde's arm as they rest on the sofa, a smirk playing at the corner of her mouth.
"As have I...and I've lived a lot of years." He knew that would strike something in her, grinning broadly. "Jenny, sweet Jenny, I do hope you're sticking around for a while."
Jenny shrugs, "I only go where the breeze takes me." She smiles softly, "I actually hope to get to know this...my family a bit more."
"Force to be reckoned with, if you ask me." Clyde wraps his arm around his wife, nodding proudly. When he notices the group that was upstairs tying loose knots, he sees the young girl carrying his daughter, "Hey Sky. Everything going better?"
"I'm fine." Sky furrows her brow, "Why is everyone acting so bizarre?"
"You weren't feeling well earlier, dear. The Doctor fixed you up." Sarah Jane offers her daughter a reassuring smile, "That's all. Everything is perfectly fine."
The teenage appearing young girl knows better, however she decides against exploring the topic more. She's the daughter of a journalist. Though not biologically, there's things she's picked up throughout the years of being a part of this family. "Thanks, Dad."
"Of course." The Doctor nods, "Now, UNIT will probably be by soon enough to clean up and issuing public statements telling people it's safe once more. Maybe they won't, who cares. Anyone up for a quick jaunt to-"
"No." Sarah Jane shakes her head to him, "We've been quite busy today, dear. I believe everyone just wants to relax a bit...if you're able to believe such a thing." She folds her arms, watching as her younger daughter joins everyone else. She motions him to a quiet corner as everyone speaks among themselves.
The Doctor raises one of his thick, gray eyebrows, leaning into her a bit, "Yes?" There isn't many people he's comfortable with, however, his time with his now wife and the family they've managed to construct has made him more open to such a thing.
"I wanted to thank you for helping young Sky today." Her neck cranes slightly to look up toward him, "It was quite heroic."
"Oh, all in a day's work." He shrugs, his hand against the wall over her shoulder.
"And if you ever keep me in the dark about something so serious again-" Sarah Jane starts, her eyes telling him she means business.
"I apologize, however-"
"No, no however. No more secrets. Not when it comes to the children or their well being." She shakes her head a little, "Promise me." She brought her hand to rest against the lapel of his jacket, "Please, promise me."
The Doctor nods, leaning in to kiss her lips softly, "I love you."
Sarah Jane hums a soft giggle, "All this time you've returned, I don't believe I'm ever going to get used to that Scottish-"
"Trust me, you will." Moving away from her, "How about I get some tea going? I'm not sure if Jenny's ever had it before. Especially the way you like it. I bet she'd love the vanilla." He takes the kettle from the stove, going to the sink.
"How about I take care of that? You go on." She waves her hand from him to go to the other room. These people, she loved them more than anything. She'd do anything for any one of them, well...maybe not Jack Harkness, but she wouldn't dare tell him that and as long as she wasn't risking her life to help him, maybe she'd help him anyway. The sudden emergence of her step-daughter right before all of this began, still has her thrown for a loop. Why now? Why was the young woman so comfortable around her, even though the feeling wasn't mutual?
Drea stood in front of the stone carving, her hand reaching out in front of her as she read the piece. Something is struck in the back of her head, "The offspring of the Physician will come together and face judgment in the days soon to come. Their numbers more." She made a face.
"You mean to tell me those circles are words?" Clyde raised an eyebrow.
"Gallifreyan."
"You mean like what your Dad is?" He leaned against the wall next to the carving, "Since when have you been able to read that?"
"Don't know." Drea shook her head before glancing to her watch, "This is currently four years prior to the common era."
"Four years before they started keeping track. Yeah." Clyde shrugged, "So?"
"They don't mean our future. They mean the future of this...humanity's future. Our timeline's past, this timeline's future. We just have to find the proper year." She glances around, "Is this the only one? It's quite cryptic. Judgment of what?"
Clyde looked about the stone, finally finding another group of circles, "Here's another, Andie."
Drea crouched down, attempting to capture a better look, "Beware the Contract...Contractor?"
"Are you asking me? I don't read this, you do." He raised an eyebrow, "The Contractor...like how your Dad is called The Doctor. It's a title, right?"
She nods, "At least that's the way I've always taken it." The young appearing brunette glanced to her husband, "I'm sure we'll find out soon enough, Langer. Let's go on home."
