Chapter 14: Extreme Measures

The two Pines breathe heavily while the door was finally locked. Blood smeared on the floor and silence enters the shack. The only sound that was heard was the sound of the wind blowing from the outside. Dipper looks around to see Grunkle Stan with the dagger. The elder Pine held it in his hands while lying down on the floor exhausted.

"Y-You got the dagger?" asked the tired Dipper.

"I did, right when Wendy leap out of the door," answered Grunkle Stan. "The dagger was in her chest and when you shot her. It flew to my hands."

"So is this going to stop the demons?"

"It's only temporarily; it will stop them for a few seconds and weaken their power. After that the cycle will continue."

The two pines then sat up and look around the shack. It's was stained with many blood, the walls and furniture were broke down. The windows were shattered and outside were pitch black. Then, the clocks in the Mystery Shack begin to sound off an alarm. The constant loud noises coming from the clock hurts their ears. They cover their ears with their bloody hands and look around to see the shack begin to shake as if an earthquake has occurred. Items begin to fall to the floor and the two has no idea what is going to happen next.

"Join us! Join us! JOIN US!" shouted the deep voices in the shack.

The shack then stop shaking and they got up. Their ear rings from a much of noises, but they slowly begin to move around.

"Dipper, lock all the doors in the Mystery Shack," commanded Grunkle Stan. "We don't want any more trouble from the outside. These demons will do anything they get if they are releases!"

Dipper begins to run up to the door of the gift shop and lock it. He then ran to the main entrance of the shack and locks it. His legs were getting sore and his heart was beating rapidly, but Dipper has to run once more to get the back door. He ran through the pile of broke items in his way and manage to lock the back door. He leans on the door to catch his breath. Meanwhile, Grunkle Stan begins to break and furniture and use pieces as boards to block the windows. He also went to his room to grab a hammer and a box full of nails. The old Pine then starts to nail the boards on to the windows with hard swings.

"This was your fault Stan," whispered a demonic voice in his ears.

"No it wasn't," he said back.

"You woke us up from our slumber and you will pay!"

"Shut up!"

Grunkle Stan continues to board up all the windows with his own tired and bloody hands. He search around to see no way to get he and Dipper out but no way could any other person get in. It was dangerous to confront these evil spirits, yet what they should? Stan didn't want this kind of evil to be out. It was already bad enough he had to shut down the shack to stop them.

Dipper enters the restroom to wash the blood off of him. He turns on the sink water and he begins to hand his hands with soap to get the blood off his palms first. Then he begins to splash water onto his face to clean out any remaining blood off. He looks at himself to see himself for a while. He can see his skin was a bit pale with some scars around his cheeks and he has bangs under his eyes. He touched his face to feel the exhaustion he has endure from battling these demons and evil spirits. He wants to touch the mirror, but his hands went through the glass as if it was liquid. The boy yelled in surprised and begin to exit in a hurry. He went to the living room to see Grunkle Stan holding the Book of the Dead.

"What are we going to do now?" asked Dipper.

"We have to find a way to get the three out of the basement," Grunkle Stan suggests. "We need to do a ritual that will get the demons out of them, but there's a problem."

"What is it?" asked Dipper approaching Stan.

"They have gotten stronger. The more these demons stay in their bodies, the more powerful they get and they will stay in them."

"So we have a dagger they could slightly weaken them, but they could be too strong for it."

"Maybe that's the possibility, but there's another way to weaken them."

Grunkle Stan walked to the fire place and starts to remove the bricks. Dipper watched in curiosity to see what else his grunkle has hidden from him. As he finishes pulling off all the bricks, he then pulls out something. Dipper eyes widen at a sight of an ax. The ax looks like it's been used before due to the dried blood on the blade.

"In the book, we can cut them down and then do the ritual. It might be tough and it might scare you to cut your own sister and friends, but this is the only way we can stop them."

Dipper couldn't believe that this was a way they have taken these demons out. It was extreme and horrific to take this kind of action. But what else is there to do? He has to follow what Grunkle Stan has planned for their possessed friends and love ones.
