Hey Sweet Pea

EPISODE TWO: A HOUSE DIVIDED
CHAPTER NINE: MY MISTAKE

Molly

Molly closed the cupboard of the kitchen, grabbing a frying pan. She wasn't sure how she was going to do this - but she figured she would be able to figure it out.

"Come on, work. You son of a bitch..." Molly grabbed a frying pan and then filled it with water, and then she placed the frying pan on the stove, grabbing a lighter and then she lighted the stove, so she could start boiling the water inside the frying pan.

"What the hell are you doin'?" Vince startled her, causing her to drop the frying pan on the stove, causing the stove to let out a hissing noise.

"Ugh! Goddamn it, Vince!" Molly growled. Vince crossed his arms, giving her a look.

"What do you want?" Molly asked, putting out the small fire on the stove and then leaning back against the counter.

"It's 6 A.M., what are you doing?" Vince asked.

"Trying to make some food. The old-fashioned way." Molly smirked.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure that doesn't work, anyways. Look, I need your help with something." Vince said, walking towards her.

"What is it?" Molly questioned.

"I got a call." Vince said, looking down to the ground.

"A call? What do you mean, a call?" Molly asked.

"I got a call. Someone called on the walkie talkie. I checked to see if there was people on the other end months ago because I kept getting static, but someone called me. I talked to them for a few seconds - but nothing." Vince explained.

"Holy shit. What did they say?" Molly said, intrigued.

"Just that they needed help and they needed us to come help them. They said they were nearby. I don't think it was an automated message." Vince inferred.

"Have you told Wyatt and Lee?" Molly asked.

"Hell no. I'm not planning on it. This is something me and you should handle." Vince refused to tell Wyatt and Lee. Molly was confused as to why he didn't want to tell those two.

"What? Why not?" Molly asked.

"Wyatt would get paranoid and after that last incident with the kid in the forest - I'm not taking him with us." Vince said.

"Not a very good reason..." Molly said.

"Just trust me on this, alright? I told them to call me back tomorrow in about an hour. Lee and Wyatt are still sleeping, and probably will be sleeping in today, since they were pretty out of it last night. If we don't get a call, we'll wait until tomorrow, okay? Just - you gotta trust me on this. Please. Don't tell Lee or Wyatt." Vince told her.

"FINE." Molly let out a big sigh, and then just complied. Vince nodded, smiling and then he walked away.

What are you onto, Vince?

Molly walked out to the backyard of the house the four of them were staying in. She sat down on the grass, crossing her legs and looking off into the sky.

I never just sat out and looked at the stars, Molly. Have you?

No.

They're so beautiful.

Molly sobbed, she was cradling the near lifeless body of her teenage sister...

I tried to get you medicine.. I'm so sorry...I'm so fucking sorry...

This isn't your fault, Molly. Please don't think this as your fault. I love you, you're the best sister anyone could ever have. I hated how you did so much to get me medicine, I was dead anyway.

Just - Don't leave me, please... Don't leave me...

I'm sorry, Molly... I don't want to. I love you, sis.

"Molly!" Vince yelled, Molly slipped herself back into reality. She quickly rubbed the tears from her face and turned around, clearing her throat.

"Sorry, sorry. What is it?" Molly sniffled.

"Are you alright?" Vince asked, concerned.

"Never better. What's up?" Molly let out a laugh to hide the sorrow. She wasn't fond to let people see her emotions. She tried to brush him off with a sarcastic shrug.

"Okay, so - I got a call back. They told me to meet them at a store just down the street. I can't believe how close they are! You ready?" Vince asked.

"Sure. Let me get my things. Meet you at the front of the house?" Molly asked, Vince nodded - not sure of what was going on with her. Molly went inside, and found herself imagining her sister standing there.

"Get out of my head. Please." Molly sighed.

"This is a waste of time." Molly rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. The two of them waiting at the door of the store.

"We're inside! Once you get inside, there's a back door and that's where we are! Come quick!" The voice on the radio said.

"Let's go!" Vince said, pushing open the door to the hardware store. It was a store that had alot of supplies on the wall, like someone had been filling it. Molly thought of if the group they were going to "save" didn't make it, she could take the supplies that were inside here. It felt cold of her to say that, but it'd be a gain for the group.

"Something doesn't feel right." Molly whispered.

"Okay, they said they're in here." Vince said, pointing to the door that was at the end of the hallway. The two of them walked towards the door, opening it to see a small room and there was nowhere in here.

"We're being fucked with." Molly grunted, placing her hand on her face.

"Guys, where are you? You gotta give me a straight answer." Vince said, calling them on the radio once again.

"I'm sorry, they're everywhere! We had to keep moving! Once you exit, there's a storage garage across from you, go there and you'll find us! We'll try to stay put this time but I can't be sure." The voice on the radio replied. Molly sighed, and the two of them went out the door of the hardware store and opened the door to the storage garage they were talking about on the radio, once they entered - Vince was hit over the head with an object and he fell over on the ground, Molly was grabbed by the neck and pulled back against the wall. She felt a cold blade press up against her skin.

"You were pretty dumb to fall for that." A man that Molly recognized immediately. It'd be a year since he saw him, a man that Vince had let live. She didn't risk trying to break free from the man's grasp because her throat could have gotten slit. Vince got back up, looking at the man.

"You." Vince growled.

"It's been a while. Since you killed my friends." The man said, Molly couldn't remember his name. He still had a shaved head, and he still wore that Michigan State shirt.

"What do you want?" Vince asked.

"I want you to pay for what you did. Or your girlfriend will. Either way. Where's the other two men?" The man asked.

"They're dead." Vince lied, grimacing. The man chuckled, walking towards Vince and grabbed him by the shirt collar.

"You're not a very good liar." The man smiled, letting him go and then walking towards a shelf. He reached for a nail clipper, or so Molly would think. Vince glanced at her, not sure of what to expect. Vince looked at the man that was holding Molly captive. He had dark-grey hair with a mustache and a big dark green fur coat. The man walked over to Vince again, grabbing him by the hand and then he clipped one of Vince's nails and then yanked the nail clipper. Vince yelled in pain as his nail was taken off.

"NO! STOP!" Molly yelled.

"Hush, now!" The man who was holding the knife to her neck ordered, his voice deep and gravelly.

"I want you to tell me WHERE THEY ARE. WHERE ARE THEY!?" The man growled, getting ready to take off another nail. Vince was in excruciating pain, but he didn't give up Lee and Wyatt's position.

"They're at a house! Please, just let him go! Stop hurting him!" Molly confessed, so Vince wouldn't be hurt any further. The man holding the knife to her neck had let her go and then pushed her on the ground, alongside Vince.

"James, what would you like to do?" The second man asked.

"Bill, I'm going to go check it out. You keep an eye on the kids. Again, I appreciate you for letting me do this. I know it's probably weird for you to be taking orders... but, just - thanks. I needed this." James smiled. Bill nodded, smiling and then James had exited the house.

"Don't worry, you two. You'll be coming home with us." Bill smiled, laughing a bit after he finished his sentence.
