"Come on Hikaru, we should get going." Haruhi said grabbing the older twin's hand.
"I'm coming, just give me a second to say goodbye to Kaoru."
"No, I know what you're going to say already, there's no need for it, just have a good time." Kaoru said beginning to close the door.
"Behave yourself Kao, I shouldn't have to -"
"How long are you going to keep bringing that up, it was forever ago." Hikaru had made it a point to bring up the incident with his his brother and Akina every chance he go.
Akina appeared beside him giggling .
"You see what I go through?" Kaoru asked gesturing to his brother.
"You brought it on yourself." Hikaru shouted back as Haruhi dragged him to the car.
"Nothing happened and you know it!" The girls laughed, once Hikaru and Haruhi were in the car, the saw the door close and Haruhi leaned over and kissed him, placing her hand on his cheek and allowing him to wrap his arms around her.
"I'm proud of you, it wasn't easy but you guys did it. You don't get as upset without each other, you've both come a long way." Haruhi said after pulling away.
"There's still times when I have anxiety about being without him, one without the other just isn't right."
"That's to be expected, but you know he's okay now and even if he's not feeling well, Akina's there. You learned to trust her with him. It's like I said before, nothing can ever take his place with you and I'm not going to try, Akina knows that too. Kaoru will always love you Hikaru, but you understand now that he doesn't have to be right beside you to show it. So I'm proud of you."
"Hey Haruhi?"
"Yeah Hikaru?"
"I love you, and I know that we're still in school and you have big dreams for the future, I want you to know that if there's anything I can do to get you there, I want you to ask."
"That's really sweet, you really changed Hikaru, whatever plans I make for my future, I want you to be there." Hikari smiled.
"I will be." He vowed,reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box. He opened the lid to reveal a stunning white gold ring, two hearts were connected at the to with diamonds in the middle of each one.
"I promise." He leaned in and kissed her again before slipping the promise ring onto her finger.
"Hikaru, I don't know what to say, it- It's beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you Haruhi." He rested his forehead against hers.
"I can't wait to show Akina, but you know my Dad's going to kill you don't you?"
"Well, some people are worth it. "
"I love you Hikaru."
"I love you too, very much."
"This is really amazing." Haruhi said.
"Yeah, and to think it all started with Kaoru's gift to me."
"Then he gave us both one, I'm really grateful for Kaoru's gifts, we should do something for him."
"I have a feeling that Kao knows we are and you know, I think we should give him a gift of our own."
