Regina woke up in cold sweat, she shivered when she thought back at her nightmare. It had been about the king again, but this time his face slowly changed into that of her captor, her former guard.
Her muscles screamed in protest when she moved her head to the left, expecting to see Emma, lying fast asleep next to her. But the blonde wasn't there.
Regina's breathing quickened as she sat up and looked around the room, searching for that familiar blonde hair that could be easily spotted in the dark. But still nothing.
She kicked the blanket back and got out of bed. Not even bothering to throw on a robe to cover her short nighty, she made her way downstairs. Her bare feet slapped against the hardwood of the stairs.
There were soft rays of light coming from under the door of her study. She cautiously made her way towards the white door. Regina didn't know what to expect. It was the first time she had woken up alone, since she was released from the hospital a few weeks ago. Emma hadn't left her side since.
Her hand shook when she reached out to grab the door handle. Her mind was full of possible scenarios, horrible and terrifying scenarios.
Maybe he came back and took her.
Maybe he killed her, to hurt me.
It would be all my fault if she's dead, I destroy everything I love.
She pushed the door handle down and opened the door. She took a moment to collect her courage before she dared to look inside. Her heart was beating in her throat and her palms were beginning to feel clammy.
After a moment, she finally stepped inside of the study. She wanted to cry from relief when she saw Emma, lying on the desk. Asleep. Her blonde hair was sprayed out over the big, wooden desk and she used both of her forearms as a pillow. A ghost of a smile played on Regina's lips. But alas, she knew better then to just simply believe it. Her mind had a habit of playing cruel tricks on her. When she was down in that basement she had seen Emma more than once, turned our it had just been a dream, a cruel system that had implanted itself on her brain. Because false hope was one of the worst things imaginable.
She cautiously made her way towards the sleeping woman. Her tanned, slim hand tucked a strand of blonde hair behind Emma's ear. Emma started to mumble at the contact, and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Regina?" She asked in to voice groggy from sleep.
"Emma, dear, you have to sleep." Regina said with a sigh, crossing her arms in front of her chest to look strict, even though she could tell it wasn't working. Probably because of the heavy bags that were under her own eyes.
"So do you, Regina." Emma retorted while she rolled her shoulders, hearing a satisfying pop. Taking one last look at the yellow police file, she pushed it aside and stood up. Because of the slight height difference betweent her and Regina she looked down and smiled at her. "Let's go to bed."
Regina blinked and nodded. Emma grabbed her hand with her slightly bigger one and together they made their way back to bed.
...
Regina smiled to herself when she felt Emma lie down behind her, still careful not to touch her back. Her fair skinned arms curled around Regina's waist and she laid her head right next to Regina's, inhaling the apples scented shampoo Regina had washed her hair with this morning. It was soothing, to lie next to Regina like this. Holding the slighty smaller woman in her arms. It felt safe.
Regina laid one of her hands over Emma's hand and squeezed softly. "Thank you, Emma." She said in a soft voice. And both the women knew that it was not just for holding her, or sleeping next to her. It was about giving her, giving each other the illusion that they were safe. Even though he was still out there, lurking somewhere in the shadows. But Emma had full trust that she was going to get this guy. Even though it seemed now like it was a hopeless case, an unsolvable case.
And when she finds him, because mark her words she will find him. She would kill him. She would cut off his balls, and feed them to him.
And goddammit if she wasn't going to enjoy it.
...
He watched as the lights in the study went out again, and the room was engulfed in darkness. He smiled. This was his chance.
Making his way towards the house he scratched his skin against the branches of the bushes. "Dammit." He cursed under his breath at he looked at the skin of his underarm, which was now damaged, red lines that were slightly bleeding now covering it. He pushed down the sleeves of his sweater as he walked over to the back door.
He dropped his backpack on the ground and crouched down so he was on eye level with the lock. There was a grin on his lips when he saw the slight blue hue over the door. They put a protection spell over the house. How sweet.
He zipped open the backpack and reached for the small purple bag. There was a black powdery substance in it and he sprinkled some over the lock. The lock opened with a soft click and he smiled. Good thing I know my way around the mines.
Hoisting the backpack over his shoulder again he raised to his feet. The door opened easily and soundlessly. The room was dark and he closed the door behind him again. He touched the walls looking for a light switch. He snapped on the light and looked around. There was a washing machine and a dryer and some other stuff. He crouched down and grabbed a silk blouse from the laundry basket that was on the floor. Bringing the blouse closer to his nose he inhaled deeply.
The wonderful scent that was Regina filled his nostrils. Throwing the blouse to the side he picked another clothing item from the basket. A pink girly boxer. Probably the savior's. He mused. My Regina would never wear something like this. Throwing it to the side also he searched further. He felt his manhood harden when he came across a deep lacy purple string and a matching bra. Yes, this is so typically my Regina.
He threw it on the ground also and stood up, he didn't even bother to put the clothing back in the laundry basket when he made his way out of the room and into the kitchen.
The marble countertop felt cool against his fingertips when he stroked it. Making his way out of the kitchen he walked into the foyer. The stair creaked a little so he walked quickly. He opened the first door to his right and found out it was the bathroom. He stepped inside of the room and looked around. The bathroom was mostly white, white tiles and a white floor. But there were also some black details. A bathroom fit for a Queen.
There were various beauty products for all different sorts of body parts. For your face, your hands, your lips and so one. He smiled, he could've expected this. Regina was a Queen after all. He padded his way downstairs again and walked into the living room. There were photos on the wall and he smiled as he saw a picture of Regina and her son, Henry. He brushed his thumb against the cool glass and imagined him in the picture also. They would make such a beautiful family.
He smiled as he already saw the picture in his mind. Henry, slightly older standing in front of him while he held a little girl, looking exactly like Regina in his arms. And Regina, in one of her hot dresses and... Heavily pregnant with their third. Yes... She would give him such beautiful children.
But alas it was only in his mind... For now. All because that blonde sheriff was in the way. All because of that goddamn savior.
He saw red before his eyes when he saw a picture of his Queen and the savior. Kissing. Ugh, doesn't she know that I'm the one for her.
...
Henry groaned when he was suddenly awoken from his restless sleep. He rolled onto his back and moved his head to the side.
His room was used to be loaded with all sorts of toys. But he had outgrown that fase and now there was a old tv from her grandpa's attic standing in the right corner with an Xbox in front of it. He smiled when he thought back about how he had gotten the game system.
"No Henry, I won't get you an Xbox for your birthday. And that's final." His mother said in a stern voice while she placed another dry plate on the growing pile.
"But moooom." He whined. "I'm thirteen and I'm the only one without one!"
"That's a fair point, Regina." Emma said and she didn't even look up from the paper she was reading.
"Emma." Regina warned.
"See, ma thinks I've a fair point."
Regina sighed and she threw the towel in the counter. "Nicely done, Emma!"
"What?" The blonde asked, finally looking up from her paper.
"You're suppose to be on my side."
"But-but... It's an Xbox!"
And then something clicked in Regina's mind. "Oh I see." Regina said with a chuckle. "This is not about Henry. You want an Xbox for yourself."
"Ma!" Henry yelled as he turned towards his blonde mother.
"What?!" Emma said and she felt herself beginning to blush. "That's ridiculous!"
"Sure it is, dear." There was a hint of amusement in Regina's low voice.
Emma huffed. "Fine! I just want to play Mario cart."
The kitchen was filled with Regina's rich laughter.
Henry chuckled softly. He eventually got his wish and had played Mario cart many times with his mother. And with Emma too.
His eyebrows furrowed however when he heard a soft stumbling sound from downstairs. He got out of bed and quickly pulled on some white socks. The sound was louder when Henry made his way downstairs and he stopped when he reached the last step.
Someone's here! He thought in panic when he heard the noise again. It was coming from the living room.
He let out a shaky breath to build up his courage and then slowly walked over to the living room.
He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a man, standing in front of their family pictures. He was touching the picture of him and his mom. The one that was taken on his tenth birthday.
He felt a presence behind him and he quickly turned around. He smiled when he saw the young boy standing in the doorway. He had actually hoped for Regina, but Henry would do too.
"Hello there, son." He said with a grin as he reached into the pocket of his jeans, grabbing his pocketknife.
Henry's blood turned cold when he saw the malicious grin on the men's face. And he let out a blood curdling scream.

I'm sorry for the cliffhanger, but leave a review anyway ;)
