''Okay, okay I am coming'' Maggie said as she dragged herself to the door. Amelia marched in without even greeting her sister. She had a small travelling bag with her.

''Well, hello to you too, when did you cut your hair and why?'' Maggie said

''You are coming with me to San Diego'' she said as she turned to face her sister

''And why would I do that, what's in San Diego?''

''A conference, that I am attending''

''What's that got to do with me?''

''Jackson called me, he told me about how you want some space, you and I both know you want space from him''

Maggie folded her hands as she rolled her eyes to her sister. The two walked to the dining table and sat there. Even though Jackson had left, he knew Maggie just wanted space from him so he had called Mer but she had a long surgery so he called Amelia so she could go be there with her. He never wanted her to be alone especially with her nightmares.

''Fine what's this conference about, do I need to go though?''

''It's a pain relief thing so we can both go and relieve our pains there. I have never done it, it's my first time so I could use some company''

''Fine, but why do you need that?''

''It turns out I am not pregnant, I had what they call pseudocyesis''

''Really, how? I thought you had done tests and everything''

''I hadn't done the blood test, I took a pregnancy test and it was positive, few days ago I started experiencing pains like they were labour pains. Turns out there was no fetus at all. I was experiencing all the symptoms you know''

''Amelia, I am so sorry'' Maggie said as she touched her sister`s hand.

''Actually I am fine, to be honest with you I am kind of relieved because Owen and I are basically over''

''No you can`t say that, I mean you guys will get through this. You just need sometime''

''I actually never got around to tell him about the ''pregnancy", I am so clear on what I need Maggie, we went from ex-sex to bickering married couple in like 60 seconds. Betty is gone and I couldn't bring myself to sign up for Leo because Leo has always been his. We were now just stuck in this; you know giant sinkhole of sadness. We were so focused on the kids; we didn't take time to assess the damage that we were doing to us. He doesn't get that addiction is a disease Maggie, he calls it piss poor life choices''

''Listen Amelia I am so sorry, I am not the best person to tell you anything because I am kind of in a bad situation. I literally kicked Jackson out of his house and I don't know why he even agreed''

''That's because he loves you Maggie, he gets that you need time and if he didn't want what's best for you he wouldn't have called me''

''I mean I guess, I know I am pushing him away and it's not like I want to. It's just that I need to breath so who knows maybe this will help, do I need to book because you clearly were all set''

''I am sure there is still place so we can book online, you better get started with the packing while I do that because if we need to get the first session tomorrow we will have to get the earliest flight''

Maggie stood up and made her way upstairs. She wasn't really sure how he felt about attending this but she felt she needed to be there for her sister who was also trying to be there for her. She looked at her phone and saw a message from Jackson letting her know where he was staying. She tossed the phone away and started packing.

The two sisters managed to wake up as early as they could so they could catch their earliest flight. They managed to arrive right in time for the registrations and to their surprise Link was also there. He helped them as he was more familiar with how everything worked, they didn't have time to check in to their rooms so they left their bags in Link`s room. Link was there as one of the speakers.

Jackson had a busy day filled with surgeries. He didn't have time during the day to even stop and get proper food with the way it was. He was on his way to prepare for a surgery when he saw Meredith in the lab, he quickly deviated.

''Hey'' he said

''Hey''

''What are you working on''

''Well I don`t know, my mother came to me in a dream so I am still trying to figure that out''

''I am sure you will figure it out''

''Eish sorry about last night, the surgery took longer than I anticipated. I had to stay late''

''That's okay; I just didn't want her to be alone. Have you seen Amelia at all, you know I just want to know how she is doing''

Meredith raised her brows in dismay. ''You don`t know''

''Know what?'' he asked in anticipation

''They are in San Diego at a conference. They should be back by tomorrow, Maggie didn't tell you?''

Jackson lowered his head as he took his eyes away from Meredith. He just stayed quiet until Meredith said ''I mean it's a pain relief kind of a conference or something like that. Amelia and Owen broke up so she thought she will drag Maggie along. According to her she was not against it. I thought she would have told you''

''No she didn't, I mean maybe it's a good thing. I just don`t know''

''Jackson, she is just in a bad place right now but she loves you. Don`t give up yet''

He looked at Meredith and said ''I just don't want to lose her''

''I know''

''Just keep me posted okay and I hope you finally crack the puzzle you working on'' he said as he walked out. He wanted to call Maggie so bad but he dismissed the idea in his head. On the other hand he was glad she was with someone.

First day of the conference went well and the two sisters were really impressed. They had also gone sightseeing after until they remembered they still hadn't checked in to their rooms. Amelia asked Maggie to get the rooms ready as she didn't want to run into Link. She had told Maggie about how she had cried in front of Link and she just was too embarrassed to see him again. Maggie didn't mind so she did as per her sister`s request. They spent the majority of the night talking in Maggie`s room until they fell asleep on her bed. The following day was a light day, they decided to attend Link`s presentation which Amelia walked out in the middle of. He was presenting about how he had offered a young patient of his some opioids that led to him being addicted and eventually committing suicide. Maggie stayed until the presentation finished to which Link thanked her. She went straight to Amelia`s room who she found packing, before Maggie could calm her sister Link walked trying to explain himself. Maggie told her sister that she should listen to Link as she had missed the good part.

''Just listen to him and call me if you need anything. I am going to get into the last presentation. You will find me there'' she said as she walked out

The last presentation was a bit long but it was worth it for Maggie, she didn't even realise that Amelia never came. She walked out of the presentation and went straight to her room as she needed a nap before they could take their flight back to Seattle.

Maggie woke up with a loud knock on her door. At first she thought it was all a dream until she figured it was someone knocking. She went to open the door and a bubbly Amelia walked in

''Hey, you are still not packed. We are supposed to leave in like an hour''

''Yeah I know, are you okay? You didn't come for the last session''

''Yah I am okay, was it good''

''Oh my God it was good, you should have been there. Where were you anywhere?''

''I might have had some insanely good sex which made me miss the presentation''

''Oh, wait, what? You had insane sex with a complete stranger?''

''Not a complete stranger, not insane sex but insanely good sex. It helped my mood a lot more than I doubt the presentation would have''
''Oh, my God, you had sex with Link'' Maggie said with her eyes wide open

''It was a one-time thing! That is it! - I just needed some pain management''

''Are you sure about that because it looks like you are trying so hard to convince me when you don`t need to''

''Have you called Jackson yet?'' Amelia said as she avoided Maggie`s question

''Why are you changing the subject"

''You know what, let's just go home. I cannot believe you!

''I know, I can`t believe myself either. Seriously though, you need to call Jackson if not that just try and at least let him know you are okay''

''It's also your first day back tomorrow''

''I know'' that's all Maggie could say and it was time to get back to Seattle
