Letty sat on her bed surrounded by the two sketchbooks that had yet to be finished. The A4 pads were required as part of her coursework for the art exam which was coming up in a matter of days. Letty's only problem was that she only drew when she felt like it and her perfect drawings would come when they were spontaneous and quickly thought up ideas while she was daydreaming during the afternoons at work. She would push the idea to the back of her head until work was over before grabbing her pad and sketching it down.

"Okay Letty, focus. What would be the best thing to draw?" Letty questioned herself. She twiddled her pencil between her fingers before roughly throwing it onto her bed.

She stood up abruptly from her bed and started to pace the room, looking around the room for any hint of inspiration. This was the time when she was really starting to regret her decision to leave the walls as bare as possible. Now, she would take any advice given by anybody, even one of that skanks – she was that desperate.

"Just think."

To say she was a good artist was an understatement. Her artwork was drawn with the clichéd love. Each stroke of the pencil or glide of the brush was done with care and precision; the only activity that got Letty's true gentleness out apart from cars. Although her own opinion of her artwork was very different to those around her. Every piece she drew she criticised with exact precision, managing to find fault with every single element of her work. She had three more drawings to complete, two in one sketchbook and one in the other. Over the course of the last year, she had managed to fill the rest of the pages.

"I've done cars, I've done family," Letty said to herself, going through every topic she could think of. "I could do family again. Maybe. I could do Tony and Sophia." Letty continued to talk to herself as she searched inside her head for inspiration. Her best talent was portraits, the detail she was able to put into the art was extraordinary. Each facial line and blemish was well defined, each eyelash perfectly flicked at the end.

"Trees," the thought came to Letty quickly and the image of the fresh green leaves against the setting sun. The background would be a mixture of reds and pinks with the occasional influence of subtle yellow tones. There it was again, the spontaneous mind that had saved her many times before. Her sketchbook was off her bed in seconds and Letty was soon laying on her bedroom floor, pencil in hand as she sketched the basic outline. The more detailed aspects would be completed with the paintbrush. Yet leaving it to the last minute left her rushed for time and needing to skip the details she would normally include.

"I don't believe it," Letty muttered to herself as she rummaged through her paint supply. A trickle of green. Grabbing her phone, she dialled Dom's number.

"Hey baby."

"Dominic, I need you to go shopping for me," Letty rushed out hurriedly.

"What for?"

"Paint. Green paint."

"From the normal place?"

"Yeah, it's called Mint Green."

"Okay, give me twenty minutes."

"Thank you."

Letty hung up and began starting on the sky. Her basic outline was completed and starting in the corners, Letty created the pink and red sky, the two colours blended together to make the sunset. A loud bang on the door and heavy footsteps up her stairs were enough to indicate her of Dom's arrival. Dom pushed Letty's door open and held up the tube of paint. Dom threw the tube down to Letty before collapsing onto her bed. He grabbed her other sketchbook and began to flick through it before stopping at one of her first drawings.

"I remember this."

It was one of the first pictures ever taken of the pair when they first started dating. It had been a Toretto Sunday barbecue and the flash of the camera had surprised them both. When the photo was developed a few weeks later, the pair were both smiling, both pairs of eyes were open, no red eyes and no one had photo-bombed. It was the perfect picture. So perfect that Letty copied it exactly, every little detail.

"Right, okay. You're done. Thank you for the paint," Letty jumped up and took the sketchbook from Dom before he could look through the rest of her work. She was incredibly protective over her work.

"Fine, if that's the way you want it," Dom said with mock annoyance. He kissed Letty briefly before leaving as Letty settled down and finished her painting.

One down. Two to go.
